Annie - poor you! You sound like you have had a rough time recently. Sounds like Mimi is maybe poorly - I know Josh turns into a devil child when he is poorly - even before we realise tbh. It is only when the symptoms of whatever it is come out that I think 'aah, so that is why you have been a pain in the a**e then'!

Pixel - Josh still has a 90-minute nap after lunch and is showing no signs of dropping it which suits me at the moment cos it means I can have a nap too! Doesn't seem to affect his nighttime sleeping either. As for the bottle, he hasn't asked for it and apart from a slightly surprised look the first morning, he doesn't seem to have noticed. Tbh, I thought the same thing as you about him having too much milk and therefore not eating much brekkie but it hasn't made a jot of difference - he still eats very little at breakfast - sorry that should say he still eats very little full stop God I hope baby no 2 is an eater!!

ImpyChica · 03/11/2008 20:47

Hi darlin's

Hope you're feeling better Annie, poor old thing! And, I agree, sounds like Mimi is coming down with something. Has your arthritis flared up cos you can't take your meds? Hope not....

HC, no. 3 will come, don't fret. Little Em is so sweet in her big bed! Bless.

Pixel LOL at the swearing. I know - I really have to watch myself. Ry repeats everything he hears - but often mispronounces it. So I can always pretend it's some Spanish phrase when he's effing and blinding in front of the Grandparents

Ry still has his siesta - can't see him dropping it any time soon. He hardly ever had a bottle, so that's not been an issue (bf until 18 months). Well done Algach for bfing Elidh so long! (And HC don't feel like a failure for not bfeeding as long as you wanted with Em - you did fantastically!)

Your weekends away sound fab Algach. Glad you got some special time with your DH. It should be prescribed by the NHS/Spanish social system for everyone, I tell ya!

Loved Chilt's hair Spin - he's such a cutie however he wears it!

How u coping on mat leave CB? Bored yet?!

Hugs to all, Impy xxx

Much brighter today girls, thank you all for your support! Feeling much better (I love drugs!) and Mimi went to sleep with very little screaming yesterday evening and only woke once, still unsure what she wanted, but she didn't scream for too long!!
She called me this morning again about 6.30, so reasonable enough...

Know EXACTLY what you mean, spin. Exactly... I said to my friend recently, I'd love to come and see you and the new baby (bout six weeks old now) and just leave everyone behind, so I can get a good night's sleep. She was really worried that I wouldn't cos her baby wakes in the night. I said, I really wouldn't mind, as long as it's not ME that has to get up!!

Mimi did NOT want to go to nursery today though... She cried and cried and cried as soon as she got there and was still gulping away as I left... . DH picked them up though and they told him she was fine...

No sign yet of any lurgy, though DH thinks he can see her back tooth...

Impy, thanks for your words, so far the arthritis hasn't reared it's ugly head, which is a good thing, I guess, as perhaps it means I don't need to take my drugs so often. The aching last week I guess was related to the chest infection.
No siesta for Mimi, not unless we go on a looooong drive!!
CB it's great that Josh still naps regularly - I bet you really need that break.
Heard a friend (don't know her very well really) had a baby boy last night, Peter. It seems to be all boys coming round these days!!

Pix, Mimi also gets cranky pants at around 6 o'clock if she hasn't had a nap (which she usually hasn't) and sometimes falls asleep eating her dinner... LOL at Em doing an Incredible Hulk transformation!!

Well I best head home to whatever awaits me there! Have a good evening girls!

PS Flick, wasn't it your birthday on Friday!? Belated Birthday Wishes!! x

thefortbuilder · 04/11/2008 20:36

aaah thanks annie.

been so busy etc etc at the moment that i've barely got on mn.

so the holiday (way back when!!!) - i got chased by monkeys properly chased yelling GO AWAYYYYY over and over at them and they still came after me. was really scared. but apart from that we were all ok except jacob fell over and his graze got infected. but no family fights and our suite was lovely and the weather was great.

as for friday......yes it was my birthday and had a lovely day, nice brunch with two girlfriends of mine and their daughters and lots of cake, and then was supposed to go to a halloween party with jacob in the afternoon but we both had colds so didn't go and went and picked up the stuff for our dinner party on saturday. then out for dinner with d sodding h in the evening which was fine and then.....true to form...we got home and had massive swearing shouting slanging match at each other. too boring to go into buy put it this way 2 out of the last 3 birthdays have been ruined by a massive argument

then saturday nice day, and dinner in the evening went like this - crab risotto with scallops, poached fillet of beef in red wine and mushroom sauce with potatoes and buttered carrots, then lots of cheese. and lots and lots and lots of wine - we even managed to clear out our front room, light the fire and have champagne in there which was lovely.

so sunday was pretty much a hangover day my first proper one for a long while!

sorry it's been all me me me so far.

cb how you feeling?

annie glad to hear you are feeling a bit better with the drugs

bloss aobut T's eyes - we have an appointment for jacob's soon enough and may have to start patching which is going to be a nightmare given we've only got him to start wearing his glasses properly a few months ago.

hi wallace!

we had a scare a few weeks back when jacob came out with what sounded like "f**king told you" but was actually fat controller...

Beadmum · 04/11/2008 21:08

gosh what a chatty lot you have all been the last few days

bloss - hope youre all having a fab time

impy - what gorge pics of ry

cb - fab news about date for your section, glad they didnt give you any hassle, not long to go now though charlotte has had her morning and bedtime milk in a cup for quite a while now, although im trying to get her to practice drinking without a straw and shes having none of it anyone elses lo drinking from a cup without straw, etc, worried shes a bit behind with this

pixel - thank you for your kind offer, im not on facebook, will try to get round to it sometime. loving emmas subtle ways to try to get you out of the house been no naps here since before the summertime unfortunately

spin - i did the same, sat and munched through all the sweets bought in for the trick or treaters

hc - gorge pics of sophie in her new big girls bed glad she settled into it so quickly. Charlotte only has 1 weetabix with fruit for breakfast and doesnt always finish it, she does graze all morning though, she just cant manage a lot all at once. good news about the dogs

agalch - your weekend away sounded lovely, its def something couples need every now and again. dh and are hoping to go to pitlochry for 2 nights in feb

annie - (((hugs))) youre really having a tough time just now, is there anyway you could get away for a break? either with dh or to your friends like you said, think it would be well deserved

happy belated birthday flick (thanks annie)

house of illness here, dh has been ill with cold, bug, toothache since last week but came home from work today very ill, went to docs, he has yet another bug, at least he is finally taking some time off work so hopefully the rest will do him some good. Dont think its helped with all the stress of his parents, we've decided to not see them anymore as it was causing us too much misery and we are happier without them as we just cant forgive and the realisation that they'll never change. 1 of his brothers has said he'll stay away from all of us as he doesnt want to know about it, he usually only visits 3/4 times a year as he lives in glasgow but still pretty sad i think.
Charlotte seems to be coming down with something too as she was a complete whinge today, crying over anything and everything, v.wearing.

Charlotte has been in a bed for couple of months now and has been fine except when shes awake in the morning theres no pretending you cant hear her as she just appears in our bedroom

Starting to notice my tummy getting bigger now, nausea is easing too, hoping itll be gone completely v.soon.

Better go as this is getting to be a pretty huge post.

Goodnight ladies xx

ceebee74 · 04/11/2008 21:10

Flick - I have been wondering where you have been aswell Glad you had a good birthday (until the argument obviously!) and lol at Jacob's version of the Fat controller

Impy - not bored of being on maternity leave - in fact, I am wondering how I ever found time to work but, god I am so fed up of being pg! Have completely had enough and would be happy for baby to make an early appearance (tomorrow would be good ) I am SO not doing this EVER again!!

Annie - glad you are feeling better - sounds like you had a tough week. Josh also didn't want to be left at nursery today - I made DH take him in as he has never dropped him off (he tends to pick him up) but obviously he will need to do it when I am in hospital/recovering so Josh needs to get used to it - needless to say, DH said he was in floods of tears!!

Update on bed situation - still no interruptions in the middle of the night But this morning, he sat quietly playing his music for about 10 minutes this morning and then ran into us at 6.30 (when in his cot, he would sit there forever) and tonight, I put him to bed and 2 minutes later he appeared on the landing and refused to get back in - I threatened to turn the landing light off (he likes it on) if he didn't get back into bed and it did the trick - he apologised and trotted off back to bed! I guess he is just testing the boundaries at the moment??

Beadmum · 04/11/2008 21:12

flick - xpost, wow cant believe i was typing that post out for so long, need to mn more often
sorry to hear about arguments with dh, your menu sounded yummy

ceebee74 · 04/11/2008 21:13

X-posts Beadmum.

Glad the nausea is easing - you can enjoy the second trimester now And hard as it is, just put the family issues out of your head and enjoy your little family!

Josh never uses a straw - he has been drinking out of a cup/glass for quite a while now - but I think it is nursery that have encouraged it.

Morning all

Just a quickie as need to bake for our firework party tomorrow.

agalch-great news passing his theory test, have heard it is a difficult task.

Sophie fell out of bed on Wednesday night but thankfully after a quick cuddle she went straight back to sleep.

Hope all OK, back soon!

they will just replace your neighbours HC!!

i am thinking of taking the safety rails of jacob's bed - he's been in it for about 5 months now with the safety rails (not cot rails) on and doesn't seem to move about too much so might take the plunge this weekend?

not much else to report here really.

have a great weekend if i don't get on!

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 07/11/2008 16:22

Feck me ds1's instructor has got him to book his driving test for Christmas eve arrrggghhh!!!!!

So he is going to have 2 double lessons per week. I cannot afford to pay for 4 lessons. We are getting the lessons for £15 instead of £25 per lesson so i know we are v v lucky. (dh knows the instructor)

He will have to pay for 2 himself and just work extra at the shop to pay for them.

I feel mean but i cnnot afford £60 a week

I am organising a Ladies Pamper Night for dd1's nursery(i am joint fundraiser with another mum). Going to have beauty treatments (mini versions) as tasters. Also going to have stalls with party plan. Ann Summers/Usborne Books/Body Shop etc etc. Ticket will be £5 and price includes a glass of wine or soft drink and nibbles. Additional wine can be purchased. I was also thinking of getting a tarot card lady or
somesuch. What do you ladies think?

Anyone got any ideas to make it a success???

thefortbuilder · 07/11/2008 18:38

tarot card lady def a great idea as well as stalls for party plans.

how much are you charging as an entrance fee? you could charge a fee and say it includes a fab goody bag and get lots of sample or travel size things to put in them - companies may give you some for free or at least v cheaply as it's a fundraiser? also ask anyone you can think of locally for giveaways / raffle / competition prizes to save money on spend and also raise money for the evening.

can't think of anything else right now brain is conked out! looking forward to dinner out with dh tonight with lots of red wine!

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 08/11/2008 09:12

Gosh i don't know flick. I was thinking about £5/£6 for entrance and the ticket gets you a glass of wine or soft drink.

Every stall will give us a set amount, say £10 and they will also donate a raffle prize.

I went to a Pamper Night that my friend had helped organise and afaik nobody really bought anything from the stalls. They had Pampered Chef/Ann Summers etc. The beauty treatments were really popular tho so i will try and get as many therapists as poss.

Someone i know knows a lady who does tarot readings so i will go with that,i think it will be popular. The treasurer on the committee isn't into stuff like that so i will have to bully get her to see sense

The booze was aslo v popular. I was pretty sozzled

thefortbuilder · 09/11/2008 08:30

do a "fancy drink thing" like a glass of fizzy stuff (buy cheap as well as know one will know) with half a strawberry in or something like that - that will get a bit extra cash in as everyone expects it to cost a bit more!

i would say a bit more for the stalls for the beauty ones, or say for every treatment they will donate £1 or something like that to the fundraising

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 10/11/2008 08:21

Thanks Flick.

DH said something similar,a set £10 fee plus 10% ish of the takings on the night from the beauty stalls.

The party plan were not great but it will give people something to do in between treatments.

Fizzy booze... great idea Flick. It will look fab and luxurious won't it?

Just need to hope the cahir and treasurer let me and my fellow fundraiser get on and organise it.
They do like to take the credit for everything and v rarely let us do anything. Our lovely secretary has stood down after only 3 months because the two of them were having secret meetings and making all decisions themselves.

Oh well we'll see what happens.

Have a good day everyone xxx

o'h agalch it's a pain when people are sneaky and silly like that - you're all in it for the same reason!

what about also a lucky dip table - that always gets people buying - it sounds really naff but can be classy! honest!

not much else to say here except the little toe i injured the week i went to see james bond has still not got better - i have bashed it so many times including twice today that i think it is broken and rebroken...it was all i could do to not swear when i did it today, as the little parrot was right in front of me.
