We have turned Sophie's cot into a cot bed this morning-oo er! May get less sleep than Annie tonight.

Have a good weekend girls.

Oh good luck HC! Was thinking of doing a straw poll about how many LOs are still in cots/when people are thinking of switching to beds. The only plus side to Ry being in a bed at the mo, that I can think of, is that it would save my back the strain of lifting him in his cot. But that is far outweighed by the thought of him opening his bedroom door straight into our lounge every night, refusing to settle... Ho hum! Would it be bad leaving him in his cot until he's 16? Any thoughts?

Poor Toby and his eyes, Bloss. Will be horrible for you but I'm sure it's a quite straightforward op and he'll be as right as rain in no time. Positive vibes...

Here's Celine's freakchild for you, Spin

Have great w/end all.

I'm afraid I am a short back and sides for a boy kind of girl. Even though I only have girls-lol!

Impy-think Sophie would stay in her cot forever but think it is only fair she can get out and play like Emma does. Will no doubt regret it in the morning as migraine free at the mo so am taking advantage of a bottle of BH.

Big wave!

Impy we moved Josh into a bed (well, took the sides down from his cot) on Tuesday. I would have been quite happy keeping him in his cot until he was 16 too

So far so good although he has fallen out at least once a night but gets back up and puts himself back to bed. However, this morning, for the first time, he appeared in our bedroom - I think it has finally dawned on him that he can get out of his room and into ours so I am guessing we are in for a good night tonight

PixelHerder · 01/11/2008 18:56

lol Impy - you'll be relieved to hear that Emma's just had a bit of a short back and sides too! It's a bit of a dodgy homespun haircut in her case though I have to say

Good luck HC - here's to a headache and wandering-free night! Hope your house and garden's a sick and poo-free zone tonight too, what a bugger.

Spin - lol at gutsing the Haribos, if only I'd bought some of those - we didn't have anyone turn up here either (may have had something to do with the fact that we stayed out till 7pm mind...) My fave Haribos are the fizzy sour ones, they are completely addictive.

Bloss - Tobes will be fine, but of course it doesn't matter how straightforward an op is, it's different when it's your baby

Emma's still in her cot - I can't really see any reason to move her at the mo as it's quite a big one so she still has plenty of room - and there's no room for a bed in her tiny room anyway without major furniture rejigging. We also don't have a stairgate upstairs and I'm SO not into the idea of her wandering around when we're downstairs or asleep, so a bed at 16 sounds fine to me

She's vv cute at the moment (most of the time) - a great mimic and learning new words every day. It's amazing how fast they pick up things at this stage isn't it? Only a matter of time now till the swear words start popping up...

Curry tonight, hurrah!! Have good nights all xxx

Wallace · 01/11/2008 19:07

Hello all

I'm still here. How is everyone?

ImpyChica · 01/11/2008 19:31

Hi Wallace!! How the devil are you?

Hurrah for the short back and sides! I'm constantly hacking away at Ry's hair in the bath - he always has a bit of a Noel/Liam Gallagher thing going cos I like to leave long sideburns and his sticking up bit at the back. He's so rock and roll.

Hope everyone has a good night's sleep tonight, seeing as it's Sunday - hoping all the LOs have a lie-in. Ry slept in until 8.30 this morning - but he did demand 3 weetabix at 3am so it doesn't really count...

Impy xxx

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 01/11/2008 20:25

3 Weetabix! Sophie struggles to eat 1/2 a Weetabix for her Brekkie. No wonder she is diddy.

She is fast asleep and hasn't fallen out........yet.

Sophie never fell out and slept like a log. Just heard a little 'mummy' at about 7-30am so ignored her and she must have gone back to sleep. Only got out of bed when I went into the bathroom. [proud emoticon] Hope it is the same tonight.

Love to all

Gorge pics HC - and hasn't she gone blonde!! What beautiful hair. Fab bed and beautiful tidy bedroom too (not like Emma's bomb site, really must sort it out )

Spin - lol at Chilton, starting early eh! I do indeed have a bit of a foul-mouthed turn of phrase at times, problem is that most of the time I'm not even aware of it. I'm predicting that 'bollocks' is going to be her first (recognisable) swear word - I reckon that's the one that springs most frequently from my lips. Though it's certainly not the only one...

of the warm weather Spin - it was bloody ghastly here yesterday, grey skies and rain all day long. Poor old Emma was going stir crazy, kept asking 'Go for walk??' (no, it's raining very hard sweetie) To which she replied 'Go in car??' (no, Mummy's too lazy to get off the sofa and go anywhere darling) Then she pulled out the big guns - 'Shopping??!' She does make me larf.

Her wish is coming true today however, we're off for a fun-filled visit to M&S to get some winter vests, we know how to live eh

oh forgot to say HI to Wallace too

lol at Roshi leaping from both her cot and her bed, in Chili's defence I guess she has had him as an example to follow though

We've got the Ikea highchair too, I reckon Emma's the world's weirdest child as she has never once tried to get out of it. As a consequence I have never bothered doing the lap strap up - but she has now figured out what it is, and insists on strapping herself in whenever she's put in there. I keep forgetting and nearly dislocating her hips when I try to haul her out, poor child

Morning all!!!

SSS Eilidh gave up bf all by herself around 2 months ago just after her 2nd birthday and is how i felt. I know she is my last lo but it gives me a little more freedom so i am fine. I did have major crying fits tho,i think it was hormonal with stopping bfing so suddenly.

Eilidh is still sleeping with me. We are planning to buy bunk beds for the dd's after christmas and get her out of our bed and get DH in again hopefully lol.

We went to our night away at Loch Lomond and it was wonderful. Lovely big king size bed, sauna in the room etc. Bathrobes and champagne etc etc. My mum said the dd's were little angels so we are planning to go back in Feb or March for 2 nights. I really need time with DH in a way i haven't before.

I have finally got an appointment for an ultracound for my gallstones on the 11th of November. I have been ok for a while but it does feel a little grumbly atm so will need to be extra careful until i get the scan.

Ds1 is having a wobble about staying on and finishing 6th year and doing his advanced highers. Is thinking about a modern apprenticship or working full time in the shop till next August when he can do a college course in computing. We would rather he stayed on but it has to be his choice i guess.

Ds2 is still plodding along, bless him. He is a clever wee thing so hope he sticks in at school. His voice is starting to squeak/be really deep and he has the beginnings of a tache and is nearly as tall as me so growing up fast!!

Dd1 is really annoying atm. Really loud/giggly/silly/screamy. God i wish i could mute her like the telly. She has a fancy dress Halloween birthday party to go to today so DH and Ds1 have taken them out for a walk so i can get stuff ready.

Anyhoo hope you are all fine. I have another meet up in December with the Edinburgh Mners so really have to get back on my diet. I cannot get into any of my nice old clothes

Have a good day all xxx

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 02/11/2008 11:47

Lol Pixel-we cleaned Sophie's room from top to bottom at the same time so for once it was clean and tidy. But, unlike Emma she does tidy up and put everything away without being asked.

scream-Chi's hair is lovely, I wouldn't class that as long hair. I am sure that Sophie will be troublesome one day-maybe as a teenager?

agalch-you did so well to BF all that time. When Sophie stopped suddenly at 9 months I found that sad. It was my first attempt at BFing so felt I had failed a tad. This time of year is for eating-the diet starts in January. Buy elasticated waists. Hope you get to the bottom of the gall stones problem.

Hi Wallace-hope all OK.

Hope Bloss is having a great time.

We abandoned the highchair as soon as Sophie could sit up properly so she could sit at the table in a booster seat like Emma. Am I starving my children as Em and Soph share one Weetabix and one slice of toast and Marmalade. They just can't manage any more.

Talking of food, DH is taking us out for Sunday Lunch so no cooking today.
Still miserable and wet here and still no sign of forced entry from the pesky dogs.

Better get on and get the 2 urchins ready.

Big wave.

Evening all

HC - glad the first night for Soph went well - long may it continue!! She looks like an absolute angel (and Pixel, the first thing I thought when I saw the photo was 'oh my god, look how tidy the room is' followed by 'how big is it??' - Josh's room is not much more than a boxroom!!)

Impy - 3 weetabixs as a midnight snack??? Really??? OMG, that would do Josh all day (seriously!) the boy exists of fresh air most of the time!!

Things still going well with Josh and his bed - he hasn't made any attempts to escape either at bedtime or during the night and it was lovely this morning - we knew he was awake so called him and he came running in - certainly better than me having to get out of bed to go and get him

Have also dropped his morning bottle - he was still having a full bottle of milk in the morning up until a few days ago. I give him milk in a glass now but he doesn't drink half as much milk - maybe wondering if I am rushing him growing up due to baby no 2 coming shortly??

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 02/11/2008 22:02

All quiet upstairs at the moment but both girls were very tired so may be in for some fun later. If I am lucky enough to ever have No 3 then Emma will be moving into Sophie's room so we hope to fit 2 single beds in. We designed the house ourselves so tried to get the other 3 bedrooms roughly the same size. They are not that big BTW. It made the bathroom quite small but we don't live in that room.

Love to all, feel huge after our lunch out then slumping infront of the GP stuffing more food. Will cry tomorrow when I put weight on at WW.

Night all.

Morning ladies

HC, what a beautiful little girl Sophie is! Well done her for staying in all night too. She's such an angel!!

CB well done to Josh too! Does he keep asking for his bottle still? Mimi still asks when she's tired, even though the fairies took it away about a month ago now.

Algach, well done on the bf - amazing. All your DC's do you proud. Hope you get that special time with DH soon, your weeked away sounds brilliant.

Spin, your two make me laugh!! Such characters!!

Pix, watch that gob of yours!! I've been so frustrated with Mimi lately I've let a few f words slip but so far no repetition. DH was on the phone to his friend the other day and called him a 'twatt' (friendly banter of course) and Joey ran up to him and said; 'J is a twatt, daddy, is he?'

Impy, what's a lie-in? Seriously? Love the Ry/Liam/Noel image!!

Well, it's all been going on here. Last Thursday DH went out for the day (not work, just shopping for diamonds, not for me unfortunately), but I felt so crap I just laid on the sofa watching telly most of the day. Painful cough, freezing cold, aching... Anyway I had Friday off and took myself to the doctor's and I have a fecking chest infection now. So I'm on antibiotics and painkillers and can't take my RA drugs until I'm better.
Started to feel better on Saturday so we went to the Halloween party as planned, and stayed over. I made them both ghost costumes, which they wore for about 3 minutes. That was ok though, it was an adult party really! I didn't drink much, and Mimi threw a right strop going to bed, screamed for probably over an hour (good ole Joey just went to sleep right next to her, not a bother!). Anyway, the party went on, and ended relatively early, maybe 10.30? It had started at 4. So everyone went to bed, I managed to squeeze into the bed with J and M and DH slept on the floor (lucky him). Then she woke again around 3am, for about an hour or so and screamed and screamed and screamed... I was at the end of my tether, and threatened to put her out in that garden if she didn't stop. So she stopped! And clung to me. Dunno what she wanted. Had some water and took her back to bed, where she clung round my neck til 7am.
What a friggin drama queen. Last night was similar, she screamed for hours going to bed, I gave up and sent DH in, he was in there about an hour before she stopped.
Then again in the night. No apparent reason at all. WTF!!!!!!!????????????
Maybe she's ill. Maybe her teeth are coming through. Even when she wakes up it's whinge whinge whinge, no I don't want that spoon...
AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

So, phew, that's off my infected chest for now! She does tend to get out of bed sometimes if she's not ready to sleep, but in the night and in the mornings she waits for me to come and get her. Though she used to hop out herself. Joey still doesn't get out, but that's cos he never wakes! He hops out alright in the morning.

So that's about it. Feel better now!

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 03/11/2008 13:54

Oh and Happy Hols Bloss

PixelHerder · 03/11/2008 16:38

ooh poor Annie you sound so rough and sleep-deprived , big hugs to you xx

lol at Joey and his twat comment though, do you reckon he'll say 'oh, here's Twat daddy' when he next sees DH's mate?

weird re Mimi's screaming, how disconcerting. Like you say she may well just be having a few tired / drama queenish moments, I know Emma can be spectacularly convincing that something is seriously awry when all that has happened is that she has thrown dropped her favourite toy on the floor (or something equally inconsequential). Fingers crossed it sorts itself soon though.

Gorge pic Spin, and no, there's definitely no freak-child-hairdoishness there!

Ceebee - glad Josh's bed-sleeping is going well, bless him running in to see you in the morning! I'm wondering too about the morning milk bottle - Emma always drinks hers and it's a convenient way of keeping her occupied while we get up, but she never eats much in the way of breakfast afterwards and maybe that's why. Tried her with milk in a cup the other day and she refused to drink it

HC - hope the fence is still keeping the dogs at bay!

Agalch - well done on the bf! Those breaks away sound like a lovely idea, and you definitely deserve them!

Impy - wow I'm also at the 3 weetabix, it's a bit like the Shredded Wheat ad isn't it (remember that, or am I going mad) Emma won't eat any frigging Weetabix atm, it used to be a failsafe fallback but now she won't touch it, grrr.

Anyone's lo's still having naps? I do wonder whether she misses them as she usually hits 'horrible o'clock' at about 5pm when she mutates - Incredible Hulk stylee - from meltingly cute to whinging demon child.

Hope you're having a fab holiday Bloss

Have good evenings all xxx
