scream-how nasty. Will you have to have antibiotics to clear it up? No wonder you were in pain.

Well, you can tell we have put the clocks back one hour:

Sophie-mummy, not dark mummy.
Me-silence
Sophie-mummy, not dark mummy, get up mummy.
Me-silence
Sophie-mummy, not dark mummy, get up mummy.
DH-not time yet Sophie.
Sophie-no, mummy.
DH-I'm daddy and it is not time yet.
Sophie-get up now.
Emma-there's a spider in my bedroom.
Sophie-don't like spiders.

Cue one hysterical Emma running into Sophie's room to tell her about the spider.

So I get up to inspect spider which is actually a mossie and end up getting up and having a shower.

Joy. One of the mums from school has just sent a text asking about the Children In Need talent contest which I know nothing about. She said we have to start preparing an act. Aaaarggghhh!!! Think Emma may be putting her Ba Ba Black sheep dress on again-shame the dance teacher has got the bag of wool, may need to make a new bag.

Love to all. Half term so must go and entertain.

Hi all, espesh KBaby, have missed you too! LOL at you making cakes for eveyone..

Speaking of which, made my Christmas cake yesterday afternoon, followed UCMs recipe, and it seems to have come out ok, rather high and round as opposed to my low and square one last year (possible something to do with the high round tin I used do you think? Smells dvine, hope it tastes ok. Will continue to feed it sherry and ice it nearer Xmas, how exciting.

DH carved two pumpkins with the boys yesterday too. they look fab, turned all the lights off and lit the candles in them and made spooky noises to the boys, which probably explains H waking up in the middle of the night to say he doesn't like spooky things. I never learn do I?

Cystitus gone now thanks ladies. ABs worked. DH now lurking again, hoping the sex drought has ended...

He is fishing all week this week, he will be all relaxed by the time we go on holiday on Sunday, as opposed to me who has two days in London and all the packing to do between now and then.

Had a good weekend, had friends to stay for most of it, so the kids really enjoyed plying, I love it when children stay over because my boys actually PLAY with all their toys for a change, they don't even really notice them when they are on their own at home, it's not till other kids come round that their interest in them is reactivated. I'ts lovely to see them racing their cars, and fire engines, and playing with the shape stackers etc.

Right better get back to work, have made one appt today but really need to make some more.

SSS - jealous of your weather. Glad you got some results for the pain you had.

Bead - you are being the grownups here, hold your head up high.

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 27/10/2008 13:58

Hi girls

5am start this morning, thanks to the fecking clocks. I had a very confused night! (helped not much by the bottle of wine DH and I shared). Mimi woke loads, and the third time, I thought it must be morning, so I just picked her up and cuddled her and thought (against all my usual intentions) I'd take her in my bed for five minutes before going to play . So she fell asleep in my bed. Then after a while she started fidgeting again, so I decided to get up with her. 'I wanna go in my bed, Mammy, not in your bed'... so I carried her in, gave her a little milk, and she dropped off again. Horraay thought I, back to bed for a sleep in. Went for a wee and checked the time - 2.35am... Very confusing... She then woke again at 5am and I still wasn't quite sure what was going on...
I think it's cos she has been sleeping relatively well the last few weeks, so this odd night threw me!

Both babes have taken to playing 'Babies' where Joey is Daddy and Mimi is mammy and they push her toy pram around laden with three baby dolls. They disappeared into the bedroom yesterday for a suspiciously long time, then 'Daddy' came out wheeling 'Baby' (not Mammy) in the toy pram... very funny, I'll will post a picture soon.

And Joey is now Mr WHY? Bloss I seem to remember when you mentioned Harry was going through this - does it last long, cos I really don't know everything you know Joey...

Bloss glad you are feeling better

Spin sorry to hear about your cyst, hope it clears up soon. And the sore throat. At least you have warm weather.

HC, enjoy half-term! It's still dark at 5am just so you know...

Bead, sorry to hear about the in-laws. you are handling it very well though.

CB, best of luck for tomorrow, hope you get what you want.

Impy hope the flu is gone x

Gosh sorry girls that was a bit long-winded!

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 27/10/2008 20:59

Blimey Annie-5am is early.

Bloss-I think I am going to make UCM's cake as mine are always very flat when cooked, I need one that rises better.

Lost 1/2 a measly pound at WW and I've tried real hard this week.

Must dash, have a date with Rupert PJ

Is that the guy in Wired last night HC? Been wondering who he is, he is gorge I agree, very like Hugh Grant, who I adore kind of despite myself.

The cake is very easy to make. I soaked my fruit in at least half a pint of sherry not quarter like UCM st,s (hic) but that is mainly cos I is an alcoholic. It rose beautifully, and smells divine. Wonder if I should have given the boys the bowl and spoons to lick with that much uncooked turps init..... Don't seem to have been unduly affected and T still is waking at 5.30am so it didn't help on that front. It's the clocks, I'm sure, although H is doing till 7ish bless him.

y in London cancelled today, bliss. So only have to go in tomorrow and that's for a lunch with one bloke and a coffee with another then home, so nothing too taxing!

Then it's on the road to holiday hurray! Due to be 80 degrees there on Monday, our first day. yay!

Hello from a very soggy Impy...

It's been gorgeous the last few weeks - super sunny, t-shirt weather in the afternoons but the rain arrived today and looks like we're in for a chill snap.... I've got the day off as we've got a lawyer coming round to help us do our wills... gulp. I just think cos we're not married and living in a foreign country, it's best to sort out these legal things, just in case...

Also spent this morning looking around some schools as we have to apply for Ryan next spring. Nightmare. There are some nice public ones in our neighbourhood with a great mix of nationalities - so which ever one he gets in to will be fine, I'm sure. All a bit scary though. They start so young here...

Big hug to you Bead. So sorry about your in-laws. You seem such a lovely person - always mentioning all of us by name in your posts etc - I can't imagine how anyone could treat you, your DH and Charlotte so horribly. Makes me v cross. Try and rise above it if you can. Try not to get hurt... I know it's difficult. It's their loss at the end of the day. Hope you can sort out some system of contact that works for everyone.

Ouch about the cyst SSS! Poor thing. Hope it's easily treatable. LOL at Roshi looking down her nose at mis-behaving kids! Can just imagine it. Can also understand the age confusion - she looks so grown-up.

Hurrah for your hols Bloss and glad the cystitis has cleared up. Don't know how hot 80 is (20 something?) but sounds great anyroad!

Hi Kbaby. Been wondering where you were. Glad the cake stuff is going well - v proud of you for going for it! Talking of cakes what is this famous UCM recipe? Where can I find it? I might have a stab this year though we won't be in Spain for xmas but it will be nice to eat in the build up! (We're going to see the family in the UK for Xmas then hopping over to Copenhagen on Boxing Day for four days - yeah! I LOVE Scandinavia!)

Still struggling with the dog poo, HC? Couldn't you buy a tiger or something that eats dogs..? Just an idea

Hope the maternity leave is going well CB!!! How are you doing Rhinestone?

I'm over the flu thing thanks Annie! Was a weird 48 hour thing. Boo on the 5am start! I thought she'd cracked sleeping through...

Well, hugs to all and here are
some pix from the zoo trip

Spooks Bloss, Spooks. Yummmy Rupert. Have recorded the final part of Wired.

Gorgeous pics Impy.

Mum and dad have been again today to put some more posts up etc but still needs a tad more to hold the bottom of the chicken wire down. Must have used some calories up today and the cold does make you wee more.

Better check Homebase online for more fencing supplies.

Big wave!

Impy - wow, Ry is just adorable isn't he? Those photos are priceless Schools already?? They do start early in Spain don't they?

HC - hope the chicken wire works!

Spin - echo Impy in not being surprised the doctor got confused as Roshi does seem so grown up!! Glad everything seems ok.

Good news here - the appointment with the consultant went really well - the doctor accepted my decision without question and booked me in for a c-section on 20 November - so just over 3 weeks away unless baby decides to make an early appearance. I feel really relieved tonight knowing that everything is sorted!!

ImpyChica · 28/10/2008 20:21

Yeah CB! Glad you didn't get any grief about a c-section - too blummin' right! Three weeks is nothing - so exciting!

Finger's crossed for the fence HC. Sounds like Alcatraz!

Thanks for all your nice words about the Ryster. Can't grow his hair though Spin, sorry! Would just remind me of Celine Dion's freaky son....! And Ry's hair isn't v thick - so it would just hang down limply and look rubbish... Nice sentiment though!

Hugs to all, Impy xxx

Morning ladies,

Suffering slightly here, I went on a date with a mate last night in Soho and we had a lovely time, drank two bottles of Sauvignon Blanc between us over a meal. It SNOWED on the way home and there were no trains so I had to get busses and tubes and again this morning, still no trains...
But it was lovely. We have pledged to do it again before Christmas!
Have just checked the bill though, and they included a 12.5% 'discretionarly service charge' the bastards. And I slipped him a fiver on the way out as well. Was too pished to check at the time! Was trying to sneakily pay while my mate was outside for a fag, for her birthday!!
Oh well.

CB, great news about your baby's birthday! How exciting, only three weeks!

HC, hope that chicken wire works this time. Darn dogs. Saw Spooks the other night for the first time - it's really good!! Liked that young Adam a lot too . Is that the guy you mean, or have I missed something?

Impy, glad you are better! LOVE the pics of Ry - so gorgeous!! Had a peek at your earlier ones too, of when he was just born, sooooooooooooo cute!

Spin hope all is well with the cyst thingy. Roshi is advanced as a four yo eh? Bless her!

Well I better do some work I suppose. Dammit.

PixelPumpkinHerder · 29/10/2008 13:50

Hi Girls
Sorry not been on for ages, had long-term visitors and all sorts but hopefully will be able to get my posting head back in order soon!

Annie ? glad to see normal service has been resumed after your month of abstinence Mimi?s sleep is sounding more promising, hurrah again!

Impy ? what gorgeous pics, he really is a model boy! Love that bottom one too.

Spin ? hope the cyst sorts itself out soon, do you know what type was? (I have been googling as I didn?t know anything about them.) Bless Roshi and her button nose! Do you have optician tests at this age as standard over there? I haven?t a clue as to when to start getting checkups.

Ceebee ? that?s great news that you can finally relax (well kind of!) and look forward to the birth ? so exciting!!!

HC ? God that must be SO infuriating re the dogs, we used to live next to a very barky one that occasionally broke through the fence (and I?m sure had the odd poo, but difficult to tell as our dog is about the same size). Sadly a good fence is really the only chance you have of keeping them out I guess, good luck with it.

Bead ? sorry to hear of more in-law madness ? if the current visits work hopefully you can build on it to make a slightly more bearable situation. Are you on Facebook btw? Most of us on here are Facebook friends, so we can share pics etc more easily and privately. If you are (or want to be) let us know and I will CAT you my email address.

Kbaby ? well done on going on the course! Just in time for lots of seasonal cake goodies then

Bloss ? wow holiday on Monday, not long now! Job sounds like it?s going okay and you have them all under control

Flick ? well done on the baby show, hope the orders are flooding in!

Hi to anyone I?ve missed ? will do an update from here a bit later on today as we have to go to the garden centre now and buy logs for the fire, yay. Am loving having an open fire, our old house didn?t have one. Laters xxx

Encouraging news re Queen SSS> Toby saw the opthamologist on Monday. He will have to have his operation for his squint within the next three months, probably on both eyes. They will shorten the muscle on one side of his "bad" eye to straighten it, but also shorten the muscle on one side of his "good" eye a little too, to prevent having to shorten quite so much in the "bad" eye does that make sense? Dreading it but want it done.

Last day at work before hols today, am at home, have just played squash, but been very busy all morning, had my call with my boss to "justify existence", so feel I can relax now.. So excited!!

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 30/10/2008 16:02

Yes, that does sound better scream. Enjoy that Aus heat as it is freezing here.

Bloss-loving the 'justify existence' comment.

Came home today after a lovely lunchtime rendevouz with my friends and DC only to find Marmalade had sick up all over my jeans which I had left on the bedroom floor and pooed on the ensuite carpet. Ew, it stinks! Have had to open the bedroom window.

Better go as Harry Potter finished and cherubs need entertaining.
