I am seriously thinking about taking £100 from each of the girls accounts and buying them some share, ours are 33p each at the mo (I sold my 750 I had at £4 each!!) so glad I didnt choose my bonuses as share payments in last few years!!

laughalot · 16/09/2008 13:19

eandh · 17/09/2008 08:28

So what do we want to make the limit this yeear £5 or £10??

laughalot · 17/09/2008 10:16

I dont mind £ 10.00 but its to all of us.

laughalot · 17/09/2008 10:16

up to all of us

eandh · 17/09/2008 10:43

£10 fine here

Lizzzombie · 17/09/2008 13:41

I'm brassic (as always!) so £5 is good for me.
BUT I can raid my piggy bank if the majority want to go £10!

Hope everyone is ok.

Opinions please...
New 'girl' (27) started at work. With a 10 mo at home, whose mother and mother in law take it in turns to baby sit so she has NO nursery fees. But, TMI she has divulged all kids of strange personal things, from period details (which would make Wilkie squirm!) and C-section details, - to the 17 years olds, who were totally grossed out, to, threesome offers she has had and details of her cheating on her fiance after having her baby. Its all a bit TMI and everyone at work is at how much she is telling us, literally in the first 30 mins of working with people.
Do you think I should say something to her?

Right, have sh*t loads of ironing to do...must get on with it. x

laughalot · 17/09/2008 13:47

She sound a bit freaky to me lizz. Would you like to use my new iron that I have just got from the bzz campaign ?

eandh · 17/09/2008 13:57

strange woman Lizz - do you think shes doing it to show off/impress?

Katw3kitts · 17/09/2008 14:06

Just read that as using the iron to shut her up LAL ... a strange image came to mind !

Bit wierd I think Lizz. Is it up to you to say something or does she have a manager who is directly responsible for her ?

Did you have a nice birthday Wilkie. What did you get? I must admit I dont really do cards with DH, I'd prefer to spend the quid on a bar of choc or get a better bottle of wine . Having said that I absolutely love the cards the DCs make for me. I've kept them all for when I'm old and grey.

Its mine in a couple of days time and its the big 4 0 !

DH keeps on saying how he really hasnt got anything or got anything planned. The trouble is I dont really want anything.

Is that wierd ? .....

Well, I do really need a couple of tyres for the front wheels, and I need a new dishwasher, and I'd kinda like one of these fancy irons you lot keep on going on about, but they are not really typical 40th birthday presents are they ? What would you get ?

God, I thought it was cold today but I've just found that the back doors been open since 9 am !

£10 is fine for me.. but I'm happy to go with the majority. I'm feeling a bit flush at the moment as I've been selling loads of stuff on ebay. People will buy sorts of stuff wont they!

laughalot · 17/09/2008 14:24

Kat I thought you where younger than me im 30 in november. Lal trudges of to get the killer iron for lizz to kill her collegue.

Lizzzombie · 17/09/2008 16:50

LOL! I so read that as using the iron to knock her on the head with too!

Thanks for that offer, but I need to keep my job, not get sent down for GBH!

Our manager is a 27 year old (ostrich type) bloke. He would rather ignore the situation than broach it. And the Assistant Manager is 18, and distinctly uncomfortable with the new woman.
So, I think I will take your advice and say something to her.
I don't think she is doing it to show off. I think she is genuinely odd. Not totally sure how to broach the subject with her though....!

Lizzzombie · 17/09/2008 16:51

ps - KWK - 40 - How exciting. He has to have organised something. Thats a milestone to be celebrated in style.

Wilkiepedia · 17/09/2008 19:14

Just a quickie - Lizz we need more information an examples of what she has said (nosey Wilkie) but agree tres odd. Not sure I would say anything though. Give it a few more days to suss her out properly.

When do you want me to send you that money from my sis?

SS - not bothered £5/£10 fine with me.

Have had an odd day at work. Seen a fantastic Project Manager job that I could do but it is a 12 month contract and I want another baby soon and I don't know what to do. Is job or baby more important? Don't want HUGE gap between J and the next one but this job sounds interesting and pays well. Or should I bide my time with my easy but shit paid job, have a baby and focus on career once the family is done and dusted?

ArghhhHH!

OP posts:
eandh · 17/09/2008 19:34

personally I'd go for the baby/shit but easy job and then when you have completed your family then fire away with your career. When Hattie starts school in 3 years I am planning on retraining or working on something new (hopefully within the bank if we still exist!)

Lizzzombie · 17/09/2008 19:47

Things the new woman at work has said within the first 30 mins of working with each of us (rest of staff).

  1. "I have heavy periods, so much so that when I got out of the bath the other day a huge big blood clot slid down my leg." - Said to colleague after NO PROMPTING of period conversations etc at all.
  2. "I was offered a threesome with one bloke, but I didn't like the other bloke, so although I would have had it with the other, I didn't because of the other bloke....I have had a threesome before though..." said to another colleague, again, after no reference being made to threesomes. Also, you just know that the men in question you wouldn't dream of touching let alone doing anything else with.
  3. To me on discussing weddings - she is getting married at the beginning of next year, so it was sort of in context. "we've changed our date 3 times now. First because I got pregnant, 2nd because after we had the baby (who is 10 months) I cheated on him and 3rd because we were having problems"....yeah, right, anyway....this was literally the first conversation we ever had.
Now, I am all for being upfront and open etc, and the girls at work (who are all 17-23 year olds) and I do chat about all sort of topics. But, threesomes, period blobs and cheating on your partner aren't something we chat about regularly. Y'know.

God - I hope she isn't a mn'er! Oops.....
