Lal - I've not done a pinecone for ages! I'm sure the women in Sainsburys hate me as I always produce loads of luncheon vouchers!
I did my first mystery shopper report the other day. £10 is supposed to be coming my way!\

UD - congrats!

Shimmer - I am soooo excited that you are moving down here! There is a MASSIVE soft play area in Lewes where we can meet LTH for coffee etc. Has the sale totally gone through? Is it actually yours? Where will you be living?

Lizzzombie · 05/09/2008 17:25

Shimmer - hopeyou don't mind this Are you planning on living above it?
It looks so cute!

theSuburbanDryad · 05/09/2008 17:59

Hi everyone!

Well done Shimmer on the bookshop! I will definitely be down to visit when you're up and running! Don't fancy doing me a discount on some baby name books do you? We are so stuck for names!

I'm 15+3 and the baby looks quite big, may rethink my plans for a home birth! We do have an inkling of whether it's a boy or a girl, but we're not telling anyone yet!

laughalot · 05/09/2008 18:50

You cant leave us guessing like that but I think if you want a name book then maybe its a another boy.

Wilkiepedia · 05/09/2008 18:55

Great news UD! How exciting - I reckon it's a boy.

LAL - my boobs hurt too, perhaps it's the weather?

Not much to report, got to go write a reference for my BF - hate doing them cos I never know what to say other than 'She's brilliant give her the job' (cos she is and she would be great at it) but don't think that would be very professional.

DH has been on a 'boys golf day' all day - but it was cancelled because of the weather - yet he didn't bother telling me so here was me thinking he was in York but he actually was at his golf club in the bar with the 'lads' from 11.30am. I rang the shop at 3.30pm as his mobile was turned off but couldn't get an answer, so rang the bar to see if the shop was shut and DH was in the bar. I asked him if he would come home for a few hours as have been stuck indoors all day on my own with J with the pouring fricking rain. You would have thought I had asked him to cut his left arm off. So he came home but made a big deal out of it and eventally went back to the pub at 5.15pm. AIBU? Should I let him have a day with the boys? I just feel that we hardly see him as it is and think he is being a bit selfish - particularly not telling me that he wasn't in York! And keeping his mobile turned off.

Have got a tonne of ironing to do but have no inclination to do it. Maybe if I had my steam iron I would be more inclined???

OP posts:
Lizzzombie · 05/09/2008 19:15

wilkie - thats pants. yanbu. I would be that he turned his phone off. Suppose something awful had happend. Thats bad.

UD - I think you are being very unreasonable (may start a thread about this!) by not telling us if you know the flavour of your unborn child!

I reckon its the weather, as my boobs hurt this morning and so I dug out an old soft cup (UGH!!) from the beginning of my pregnancy as I couldn't face the wires and the trussing up today! (def not pg though!)

DJ WILL NOT SLEEP! Its totally doing my head in. He's not been sleeping until 9pm all week, having been put down at 7.30pm. So today he had 30 mins nap (normally has 1-2 hours) and we went to soft play and the sea front afterwards, he should be KNACKERED. He was drifting off and dozy about 20 mins ago. Not now though. Now he is screaming his head off in his cot. I'm a wreck!

theSuburbanDryad · 05/09/2008 20:00

Another non-sleeping chid here.

We don't know the flavour yet - it's far too early to tell for sure - but the sonographer told us what he thought it was!

eandh · 05/09/2008 20:07

oh feck another non sleeping kid here too (although its Ellie and she has screamed her head off and woken HAttie but managed to resettle her and dh now up with Ellie)

Am just off to cook dinner so will do personals in a bit but if you fancy a laugh

eandh · 05/09/2008 20:24

Right phoned my Dad he spoke to Ellie and now shes gone to sleep

Dinner in oven (not healthy fish and chips )

Vin- you sound like me keep busy but overstrech myself. DH work night sounds fantastic and sorry to hear about the job and you have to get the steam irons

UD - I think a boy now hope Z settles soon and glad il's looked after Z and gave you a rest

Lizz- get writing those bullshit reviews!! Can't help about sleeping thing as Ellie still a crap sleeper, Hattie only naps 30-40minutes a day normally around 11.30 occasinally if shes overtired she is devil child to get to bed but like tonight I knew she was knackered at 5.30 (IL's had them this morning whilst I got party bits and she only napped for 20mins as FIL didnt put her to bed but let her sleep in his arms) so took her up at 5.40 and she conked straight out

Shimmer - shop looks lovely all sounds very exciting (am off to check how long it'll take us to get to Lewes to visit ) no help on bath front but may be worth trying shower

Laughalot - glad kids liked their party bags still think its very unfair of dh not to drive them the 7hour round trip so they could come to the party

Rgee - I popped Hattie on scales she is 1st 9lb so is that 23lb she seems to have lost her chubby legs but still tiny in height (12-18month trousers still miles to long!) play barn sounds lovely

Wilkie - no help on the unreasonable dh as you all know hoy my dh can be, but in all fairness he should have let you know where he was especially in case of an emergency

Ummm have I missed anyone?

Shimmer · 05/09/2008 20:32

That's the one Lizz! Anyone that wants to see our new house, see Lizz's link below! We will indeed be living above the shop. That picture of an office on the details will shortly become our living room! And we're going to have 3 bedrooms which I'm quite excited about, cos we only have 2 at the moment and 3 gives us plenty more space for DC2 . The sales aren't complete yet on either the business or the property, so it's not quite done and dusted yet. Still a bit more work to go till it's actually OURS. I reckon the survey's going to come back with LOADS of problems too cos it's such an old building...

Glad the scan went well UD (Yes, I'm jealous, I'm broody as hell). When DP and I went for 20 wk scan (or whatever the 2nd one is where they can sometimes tell the sex) we said we wanted to know and they were very reluctant to tell us! Luckily the sonographer (sp?) was quite reasonable and after we'd pleaded with him a bit and promised not to do anything too rash once we'd found out (they told us some people REALLY want one or the other and would consider aborting if they find out it's the "wrong" one) he told us it was a boy. Anyway, my point was, I'm surprised your guy made a guess at what he thought it was!

eandh · 05/09/2008 20:41

According to the aa it'll take me 1hour 3minutes to drive to that specific street

Thanks PCF I was thinking of you this morning as I had your list from ALex's party up on the kitchen wall!

Food done now and in fridge Dad, dh, e & h gone off to cafe for fry up and I'm cleaning up and trying to find the other shoe that goes with Princess Jasmines outfit - anyone know where it is?

Dragonhart · 06/09/2008 18:33

Hope all went well with the party EAH.

UD- Glad all good at the scan. When does that make you due? (my brain has not recovered enough yet to work it out!)

Shimmer- Sooo exciting about the shop. It looks gorgeous and I saw a Location Location Location all about Lewes the other week and it looked lovely too.

Pink- Congratulations! Bet the girl remarks are inevitable. I got loads of 'I thought you would stop now you have one of each' type remarks when I got preg with Rachel as if we were being greedy having another!]

Lizz- Ruth is taking ages to go to sleep at night. She shares a room with Luke and he just conks out straight away while she is shouting and banging about, he sleeps on! She doesnt cry, just plays about for about an hour or so they crashes on her bed. The other night she was very quiet, so I went into check her and she had pulled almost a whole sheet of wall paper off the wall! So their room looks great now

Rgee- Already had loads of cards spelt Rachael! Even though we texted everyone the right spelling! Have I doomed her to a lifetime of everyone mispelling her name!

Vino- Does sound like you have been busy! I feel quite lazy!

Wilkie- I would be fed up about that too. More about the fact he didnt tell you it had been cancelled.

Sorry, just skimmed through so hope I didnt miss anyone.

We are well. Rachel is starting to feed a bit better after spending the last few nights feeding all night nearly. Now my boobs have gone into overdrive and are enormous. Ofcourse she had decided that she is not that hungry anymore so they are killing me!

Ruth is loving having a little sister and is much more help that Luke was. She keeps getting me muslins and cushions when I am feeding Rachel. Luke is being good most of the time but is suffering a bit for attention. He starts back at playgroup on monday so hoping they will use up some of his energy!

eandh · 06/09/2008 19:41

pics of party (beware theres lots!

Party went really well, 31 children, all behaved, all sat down for entertainer (OMG he was worth every penny was fab) and then all sat nicely for food and then went home

My lovely aunt gave us £20 to get ourselves a chinese tonight so am waiting for that to be delivered (and for Ellie to go to sleep as shes still buzzing especially because her Godfather bought her a blimmin huge number 4 balloon and her most 'wanted' present that we had said no to!)

Dragon - glad everything going well, Ruth sounds as if shes being adorable (any pics yet?)

2Happy · 06/09/2008 21:11

eandh - glad the party went well, great pics! Bet you're knackered now!
DH - great to see you. Hope Luke settles once he's back at playgroup
PCF - did you see the tip of the day ??yesterday or day before? "if someone says are you hoping for a girl or a boy, answer 'yes i hope so'" . People don't half make stupid comments!
UD - glad the scan went well
Lizz - is he at least sleeping in in the morning?
vino - sorry to hear about the job. Hope Sylvie behaved for dh
Shimmer - shop looks great!

Sick of the rain. Stickers can only amuse kids for so long, it would appear.

theSuburbanDryad · 06/09/2008 21:20

EAH - great photos! Looks like everyone had a nice time! I love this one - Ellie looks like she's having a major strop there (I'm sure she wasn't really! ).

eandh · 06/09/2008 21:28

Lol thats Eddas dd and thats a normal conversation for them they are incapable of talking they either screech, fight or squeal!(I think Ellie was telling her that cakes would be out when everyone had eaten the sandwiches etc)

PCF - we get that about 'are you going to have another one to try for a boy' ummm no we are happy having 2 girls thanks! (its normally dh grandad who pulls that line as we've now ended his family name )

2happy - we have tonnes of stickers/craft bits as presents, send the ds's down here

I didnt feel to knackered earlier but am shattered now, think I may log off and head to bed (and dear we have to do all this again tomorrow as family party here !)

Katw3kitts · 07/09/2008 15:31

What a weekend !!

We were so close to being flooded yesterday, but thankfully we avoided it with minutes to spare.

Cant even believe how it happened as we live nearly at the top of a hill ????

On the plus side my house is like a shiny new pin as we took the opportunity to give it a good sweep and clean as all the furniture was either upstairs or on top of tables !

Been forcasted for more rain on Tuesday tho... [nervous] keep your fingers crossed it wont happen again.

Looks like a great party btw !

Katw3kitts · 07/09/2008 15:33

Oh yeah, Shimmer the business looks like a fantastic place.

Make sure you get a good website up and running for those of us further away !

Reggiee · 07/09/2008 18:44

Hi Kat. Just saw the evening news and thought about you in the NE. Really pleased you weren't flooded. I bet a few people you know were affected though - hope you dry out soon.

2H is there much flooding near you? Funnily enough, lo is massively into stickers at the minute. They keep her entertained for hours which suits me just fine.

Eah hope today went as well as yesterday. Bet you're looking forward to putting your feet up this evening. The photos were great. When do you go on holiday?

Dragon good to hear from you. Have you any pics up yet? Lovely to hear that Ruth is helping you with Rachel.

PCF I bet LTH will be able to give good responses for anyone who queries the 'you must want a girl'. Hope you're feeling fine with no morning sickeness, and not too tired.

Shimmer your place looks gorgeous . I hope it all goes through well for you, and the survey is fine.

Dominos just arrived...back soon...

Reggiee · 07/09/2008 19:10

Lizz hope you got some sleep over the weekend. Are his molars coming through or does he just want to play with his mum?

UD glad the scan went well. Obviously it's a girl due to your sickness (how you feeling now btw?), but if sonographer said they thought they knew the flavour, I'm changing my guess to a boy.

Wilkie hope you had a good weekend. Has dh made it up to you after his boys day out?

Vino barn is Yeadon way. We'll have to go one day.

Hi Lal. Hope A is much better now.

Think that's everyone. .

Dominos was nice and has stopped me feeling sick with excessive hunger. Now I feel sick cos I'm too full.

2Happy · 07/09/2008 20:04

Someone tell me again about this steam iron thingie please. Mine's just died. I've changed the fuse, changed the socket it was plugged into...nothing. It's only a few months old

Reggiee · 07/09/2008 20:34

Aww...you didn't really want to do the ironing anyway...

eandh · 07/09/2008 20:51

KAT glad you are all okay and escaped flooding, fingers crossed for Tuesday

rgee we go 2 weeks tomorrow (but hav a manic weekend before we go that involves a 2yr old party, wedding reception and christening so not sure when I'm going to pack)

2happy i have this in pink and I love it (also have a pink ironing board You can basically use as normal iron or heat the water part up by pressing button and steam everything (thats what I do and its great on DH's work shirts)

UD / LTH - Did UD gatecrash come for lunch today then?

wilkie have a fab holiday (card in post tomorrow!!)

Today went really well (apart from Ellie turning into spoilt brat who has been given far to much) Popped to town this morning and Ellie wanted new outfit (her birthday money = her choice) but she got herself purple skinny jeans and a lovely top and then decided she wanted to buy Hattie purple jeans and a different top so I let her (my Dad gave her the £11 Hattie's outfit cost back as he was proud that she decided to buy Hattie something) The jeans she picked are fab on her as they have adjustable waists and they were on bogof so got a black pair too!

BBQ went really well and updated pics on link below (cute ones of Hattie on there) everyone left by 6pm so tidied up/washed floors and everyone asleep apart from me Now I am an idiot because I offered to do a Halloween party so need to start thinking about that (although that'll be at home and only about 6 kids coming)
