ladytophamhatt · 04/09/2008 09:28

Hi makemine, I remember you, plus we "spoke" breifly the other day I think....or did I dream that??

Welcome back anyway.

theSuburbanDryad · 04/09/2008 09:28

I have got crazy pg insomnia.

So tired.

Car keeps breaking. No money to buy new one.

Whinge. Moan.

theSuburbanDryad · 04/09/2008 09:29

Sorry - hi makeminealargeone. Welcome to the thread!

makeminealargeoneplease · 04/09/2008 09:59

Hi everyone! Yes LadyTopham you didn't dream that...we did 'speak' the other day I remember it too. Hi there! and Hi Elliep! I remember you too, its all coming back now. We are all good thanks. DD starts pre-school again next week....so I've still got 2 kids on my hands, thank god for kids TV. Took them to a petting farm yesterday which they loved....any ideas of what to do on a wet day in Kent! I've got some gingerbread dough in the fridge so might make some little people out of that with them. I'm very excited today as DS said 'poo poo' as he was straining into his nappy today.....the things we get excited about these days!! Potty training is going to be fun with this one, being a winter baby they'll be no letting roam free in the garden with no nappy on.....joy! something to look forward to! God what a ramble...too much coffee me thinks. You'll be chucking me off this thread soon, for boring you all to death.

makeminealargeoneplease · 04/09/2008 10:09

Oh dear...are you all hiding from me?

ladytophamhatt · 04/09/2008 10:59

I'm stunned at all teh Jan07 children and their wees and poos.

DS4 hates having his nappy off, he cries and cries and cries if its off for longer than a nappy change. Potty training is going to be a nightmare.....but then I don't plan to be doing it anytime soon.
It'll be next summer at the earliest.

eandh · 04/09/2008 13:14

Its very quiet on here again

Oh my God I cannot wait till Monday when E back at preschool, she is so hyped up about her birthday and her GOdmother been round for hte morning and let her have her present, she now has all the disney princess plastic tip tap shoes in a disney princess cabinet her face was and and obviously insisting on prancing about in them (I've decided to let her have some presents as people give them to her otherwise she ends up with a huge pile on Sunday and gets overwhelmed where as this way she enjoys them)

Makeminealargeone - where abouts in Kent are you (I'm in Maidstone)

2Happy · 04/09/2008 13:37

Hi makemine You beat me to it, ds2 was 2nd feb (but everyone couldn't shut me up kindly let me stay in the Jan thread!)
Well since ds1 has only just trained a month ago at 3.2, I don't think I'll hold my breath for ds2 to potty train
We just got a whingy letter home from ds1's playgroup. They're moaning that it's too hard to raise the extra money to keep the group going so will have to raise the fees from £3 a session to £12 because, apparently, the parents are all rubbish at coming to fund-raising events and all we do is moan that we don't get enough notice and that's insulting them, apparently. I'd like to say that in a year of ds1 being at the playgroup, they've let me know about one fund-raising event. I don't doubt that the fundraising is an onerous job, but if all the parents say "you don't tell us about the fund raising events" you've got to wonder if maybe it's not all the parents' fault

Lizzzombie · 04/09/2008 14:43

Hi everyone!
2Happy - £3 to £12 is crazy! A nursery session for an entire morning is £17 (pm is £15) How much does your local nursery session charge? - Am I totally wrong in assuming you are talking about daily session charges of £12 to come to the playgroup?

I'm having food issues with DJ at the moment. Please can you all reassure me that its not just my child who will only eat sh*t. I was such a good mummy yesterday. Stir fry for lunch, hmm...he ate 2 mouthfuls of noodles and peas and screamed at me. Then in the evening he got fish pie...which I found very satisyfying to snack on! He however acted like I'd given him acid or poision. I don't understand it. He eats fish fingers or fish from the fish shop, and he eats boiled or chipped pots. But, not fish pie. Then I pick him up from nursery today (and every session is the same) "oh, he's such a good eater, he cleared the plate and had seconds..etc" they can give him anything and he will scoff the lot. They know I am having food issues with him, and so I doubt they are lying to me, but its doing my head in! He cannot live on fishfingers and chips and peas.

re. school starters. My neighbours DS was only 4 on Sunday, and he is due to start big school on the 15th as they are staggering the intake. That seems crazy to me. He is really shy anyway, and he will be the youngest by a year compared to some of them, and then other children in his class will have started today, 3 weeks before him. Poor little mite.

Katw3kitts · 04/09/2008 15:17

£12 a session ???? You got to be joking ?

I guess they might be trying to threaten get parents more involved in the group ( I know I ran a preschool for a year once and it was a nightmare, .. I'll definitely NOT be doing it again this time round)

Welcome MMABO glad you've 'found' us again

RoLF laughing at your suggestions for names Reggie. Thanks for the photos btw. I showed them the kids and they tore a strip off me for meeting people off the tinternet. I guess they kind of have a point ............

Well my house is sooo quiet atm, LO is asleep but I'm going to have to wake him v soon to do the school run thing. DD started senior school today >.

I've turned into one of those mums who sits in her car with her shades on ignoring people and refusing to get out of the way . It was a nightmare this morning.... and I know I'll have to do it again till she feels happy with being dropped off somewhere a bit more convenient for me !!

Better rush ... times ticking ... Shit its raining really heavily now too

Lizzzombie · 04/09/2008 15:43

its terrential outside here at the moment!
I've not seen it this heavy for ages.
Was supposed to be going to the swings for some fresh air!!!! [hmm[ never gonna happen now!

makeminealargeoneplease · 04/09/2008 16:50

EandH, another Kentish lady then! I'm in Swanley, near Bromley, so unfortunately not very close, but not too far!
2Happy, can't believe you went on until 2nd Feb! You must have been going crazy waiting that long. Poor you. You got there in the end though! Hope all went well. From £3 to £12 that is unbelievable!! They can't do that surely. Who can afford a steep increase like that??
Lizz - you are not alone in the kids-who-will-only-eat-shit scenario, both my two would happily turn down a delicious [hopeful emoticon] homecooked meal, in favour of a bag of wotzits even my 19 month asks for 'pssstpssts' when ever he sees anything remotely like a crisp packet.... and will kick up a stink if he doesn't get them . What can you do, you can but try your best?
thanks for all the welcomes ladies....what a lovely lot you are!

makeminealargeoneplease · 04/09/2008 16:55

Oooh by the way is it true there is going to be a thunder storm tonight? Me don't like thunderstorms Not since our house got struck by lightning in May! yep this is about us

ladytophamhatt · 04/09/2008 17:10

Oh makemine....sorry I just have to say it...

"Lightening never strikes the same place twice"

Is that the proverb or whatever??

Hey, you'll be the living, breathing truth

xx

makeminealargeoneplease · 04/09/2008 17:49

thanks Ladytopham, yep you are right and thats the saying. I just hope your right. We've had one storm since it and I was absolutely petrified, jumped out of my skin with every bolt. I'm sure my new phobia will get better. It was quite nasty, the bolt came down the chimney and blew the fireplace straight off the wall, the front room literally looked like a bombsite.

Lizzzombie · 04/09/2008 17:55

MMAL1 - (makeminealargeone) your house got struck by lightening?!?!?! did it burn down? what happend? were you all inside? what 'conducted' it?? More details! Thats mad! You poor things.

So, I reckon now there is another person in the SE. We should really organise a Jan 07 meetup for the south. Anyone...? - we can all eat wotsits, and iced gems and other shitty foods!

eandh · 04/09/2008 18:18

Lol Lizz I think DJ would like that food can't help on the food front as H is obsessed with food and would eat all day given half a chance!

MMAL1 - I sometime pop to Bromley to go shopping and very occasionally to do relief at a branch there, last went there when I was 7.5months pg with H and trying to find an outfit for a wedding (And E was a nightmareon the train) Havent seen weather so no comment about storm

Rgee- Ummm can't remember what you posted

2happy - is that preschool fees ?? Ellies is £8.50 per session (9.30-12) but shes free now (does ds1 not get free yet I thought it was the term after their 3rd birthday they get 12hours free from goverment) I am heavily involved in preschool (not entirely by choice and now worried about Kats post!) but like ds1 school they are crtap at letting people now about stuff, so as Eddas is going to be chairperson and me vice chair and treasurer its one of our aims to get loads more notice for things. Plus we've set up email address book for parents and I have 85% parents mobile numbers so can text them. We are thinking of having a sponsored assault course (tunnels etc) or sponsored bounce for the children late October (there are 38 children on the books if they all raise £5 thats £190 for minimal work) normally do a quiz night and bingo night. As Eddas and I have got to know new parents (we were ignored by previous clique when the dd's started so make a big effort to talk and involve new parents) we have had a 'mums' night out which was a good laugh so hopefully fundraising will be easier now!

Reggiee · 04/09/2008 19:13

Noooooooooooooo!!

Feckin types to fast and closed MN with my v v v long message to you all in it...

ARRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH..

Reggiee · 04/09/2008 19:20

Quickly recreates gist of message:
Welcome MMAL1
UD good luck at scan tomorrow
Wilkie well done J for wee wee
Lal what have the lo's done?
2H £12 whatyougonnado?
Lizz food thing is common
LTH you'll get bored
Kat teenage strops around the corner...

Reggiee · 04/09/2008 19:28

Decorators almost finished. Six bloody weeks later (not their fault). Can finally start getting house back together. Dyson is playing up and keeps cutting out so need a new one.
DH just gone and bought a new boys toy amp type thing so he's playing around very excitedly with a huge number of wires by the tv. Am concerned at the number of toddler tempting buttons on it.
LO still cute as you like. She talks loads but no sign of any potty training. Would it be too lazy to arrange it so nursery has to do most the hard work with this?? She recently learnt a couple of colours - bizarrely orange and pink. I can understand pink but orange??
Forecast tomorrow is crap. Again. Might just stick on her waterproof and wellies and brave the great outdoors.

Wilkiepedia · 04/09/2008 19:57

Fucking wanky bollock shitting c*nt

That....is how I feel. No reason, just PMT.

Reggiee - did you get the early invite for the Phillips pressurised steam cleaner for BzzAgent?? Retails at £130 yet I get it for £20 if I trial it here? Does anyone have one and is it worth me buying it (I'm guessing EAH is most likely to have one...)

MMAL1 - welcome. I am normally of a sunnier disposition than this but I get monster PMT and this one is a biggie as haven't had a period for 38 days!! Lovely to have you on here though and WOW at your house! Tell us the details please...

EAH - bless H. That is so cute! She is a little princess, what date is her birthday?

DH - are you about? How are things going?

UD - what date is your scan?

Lizz - Re eating thing. J went through same thing of only eating beans and toast but me and DH have decided not to make him anything separate to us, he eats what we eat and eats when we eat. It means we have to have tea a little earlier than we would choose but he eats LOADS better with us. Also, we have put his chair up to the table so he is not in his highchair away from the table and it has improved massively. He eats ANYTHING.

Anyway, I need to go and do some washing, pick the scab off the wart on my toe and apply some more wart removing acid....such is the life eh?

eandh · 04/09/2008 20:08

Birthday Sunday, but 35 hellish lovely children to her party on saturday

Rgee - I wanna see pics of house

UD - you finding out sex this time?

theSuburbanDryad · 04/09/2008 20:35

Hey everyone - apologies for my strop this morning. Have been to see the IL's today and slightly less miserable now as MIL took Z shopping while I had an hour's kip. Took Z to the dentist today for the first time - he refused to open his mouth!! Sensible child. The dentist did get a quick peek and said he thought there was one more molar to come through - finally the teething nightmares are over!!

10 days till I go on holiday!!

I don't know if we'll find out the sex tomorrow - we're not sure if dh will be able to make it cause he is up to his neck in trade fair stuff at the moment - I don't want to find out the sex without him there, and I'm not sure i'm far enough along anyway. I'm sure I'm in the 2nd trimester, as nursing Z has got easier now, which would seem to make sense (to me, anyway!) and there's this enormous BUMP on the front of my tummy! Had to buy some maternity trousers for work yesterday as all my pretty clothes are too small now. Went to Dorothy Perkin's and got really annoyed with the Gok Wan pictures on the dressing room mirrors which said, "Looking good, gorgeous girl!!" I mean - ffs - I haven't brushed my hair, it's gone fluffy from where i slept on it, my glasses are wonky and also filthy, i have a major spot outbreak SO DON'T TELL ME I LOOK GORGEOUS MOTHERF*CKER!!

Sorry.

I would be well up for a SE meet up - I'm trying ot get in touch with LTH on MSN at the moment to see if i can invite myself over for Sunday lunch as dh is away. She's ignoring me though - you don't think she can tell I'm on the scrounge do you??

Sorry for the massive ramble - I am also off my head on caffiene and Kendal mint cake - a heady combination!! This baby's going to be born hyper i think!
