but have you read this thread about someone saying that was their tip not Lizz's

2Happy · 30/08/2008 17:44

ROFL!! No, dimwit that I am I hadn't noticed! D'oh!!

Reggiee · 30/08/2008 17:46

Canmummy - Cyprus sounds fab. Did you have a lovely time? Bet it was nice to have some sunshine.

EaH how was the party today? P received her first proper party invite this week. Debating whether or not to go as (car and timing issues) but think I should make an effort. Is H better now?
Bummer about work. Hope all goes well next week.

LTH that looks really nasty. DS1 does look quite proud in the photo though. Loved all your other pics - I hadn't seen the new ones before.

Hi Shimmer. How's things? Hope your business plans are coming along well. Any more thoughts on a name for the book shop?

Lizz pmsl at architect of Megabloks. I have loads but lo is not particulalry interested. Presume DJ does not get a look in when you have the blocks out then?
PS Any more tips....

UD how's all the house stuff going? Is it all in progress? How you feeling btw? How many months are you now? Questions questions...

Anyone here watch the X Factor?

Reggiee · 30/08/2008 17:47

Eah pmsl. Where is Lizz. I need to know if it was her tip

Reggiee · 30/08/2008 17:49

2H have you had a looong day?

Pmsl. I think I will now start commenting on tips every day. Actually, may start submitting them.

eandh · 30/08/2008 18:39

Rgee - party was nice just 5 of them for lunch and they all behaved impecably (especially Hattie who decided that she would use her whole repoitoire of words on the bday girls Nanny!) Its Ellie's party next week and numbers are now 35 kids and 15adults I think I am going to be exhausted next saturday night

Hattie is almost better, still not teally eating but assuming her throat still sore. I have really really been struggling with Ellies obsessions/behaviour again lately, spoke to lovely Dr yesterday and seeing her next week as she wants a chat with me and Ellie and may refer her to be assessed as she appears on borderlines and if she needs a SEN I'd rather get it in place prior to her starting school.

I love X Faxctor, in fact have got Hattie to bed, DH just got home so he needs to get Ellie to bed then we can have dinner and watch it

Lizz - I used to build fab models out of megablocks when I used to take Ellie to toddler group Hattie never batted an eyelid at it but loves her dollies and little people sets

2Happy · 30/08/2008 19:14

We've been off for 2 weeks hol - not that we've gone anywhere - but while it's relaxing, every day is looong IYSWIM because we're trying to do family stuff. Oh, that and I'm dim!! x-factor is on as we speak...

Katw3kitts · 31/08/2008 00:08

God...I'm so pathetic !

I thought it would be nice for DS1 and I too have a bit of time together so we managed to get DS2 to bed early and rented a DVD.

We were cuddled up on the sofa with popcorn under a rug watching 'Bridge to Terabithia'. The girl reminded me of DD, her kooky style, and then .... well.... I wont spoil it but it turned out very sad, and I was weeping buckets !!!

DS1 didn't know what was wrong with me, but informs me he'll be choosing the next one. It was only a PG FGS Whats wrong with me ????

Hmmm Cyprus... could do with a bit of that.

ladytophamhatt · 31/08/2008 08:04

Much improvment on the eye today. Swelling has gone right down and the graze is drying up. The bruise is dark dark purple though....

eandh · 31/08/2008 09:23

Kat - I am like that I can cry at anything

LTH - glad swelling gone down

I have got a huge bargain this morning, popped to fab bootfair near us (Ellie came) there was a brand new Princess Jasmine(Aladdin) palace and all accessories, figures etc cost £39.99 new in Argos as I looked at it last year when she first started getting into the whole princess thing. Ellie fell in love with it so asked how much it was and he asked Ellie how much she had to spend (I always give her 50p to spend and normally she gets a Barbie doll or book) so she told him 50p and he said ok you can have it for that I couldnt thank him enough!!

Lizzzombie · 31/08/2008 10:22

oooooh! how funny is that thread!
I was feeling all chuffed coz I saw the tip of the day and my name etc, then saw that thread. Very amusing!

vinorouge · 01/09/2008 08:24

count me in for secret santa.

had a mega busy week and weekend. Knckered. Mum is staying tonight and then we are going out for day tomorrow to the place where she goes for her quilting classes so I can choose material for her to make a quilt for Sylvie. Washing, cleanng and hopefully a haircut on the agenda for today.

laughalot · 01/09/2008 12:59

Hi everyone

Not much to report here. Cant wait for school to restart aidan is so excited. I always think when school restarts in sep that we are then heading for those dark nights soon . I love winter if I never had to leave the house. I think eah should sort xmas as she is very anal about that sort of stuff and will have spreadsheets and the lot .

canofworms · 01/09/2008 14:04

Well, older kids back at school and lo asleep so it's really quiet here.....

Me and dh are so technically illiterate that last night someone "stole" our wireless network by putting a password on (it was unsecured ). Fortunately he has some technical assistance cover that told us what to do and blocked them out forever! Bit scary though that someone had done that to us

Lo has been pita last couple of months at going to bed so last night we put her in a bed instead of a cot! Worked in so much that she didn't scream too much lol

I'm really excited as dh has bought me a brand new mercedes that I'm picking up on weds! Even better I'm making him trade his old car in so I get to keep the other one as a run around (for him of course!). Had to go out and get a new car seat though and still a bit worried about squeezing all 3 in the back

Other than that nothing new to tell you (must do a bit of tidying up now)

Lizzzombie · 01/09/2008 15:21

hey there canofworms!
Impressive new car - Photo Please!!!

I saw a bunch of those new fiat 500s being delivered to local Fiat garage last week. They are sooooo cute. I really want one!

canofworms · 01/09/2008 15:43

this is the car

We were on the way to the supermarket after coming back off holiday and only called in the garage to look! Beans on toast now for the next couple of years I think

eandh · 01/09/2008 16:00

oooo car looks lovely

Am at work today and had my meeting look slike my change of hours will be agreed for new year hurrah . It actually turned out a very constructive meeting (had to bite my tounge a few times though ) am moving rooms as I hate my office as no window etc and am moving to a 'glass' office after my holidays and agreed set review process plus because I can't ein any competitions now I am not on the counter that is also going to be reviewed

I am now looking ultra organised and getting lots of bits ready for the end of quarter reviews so when I get back from holiday and my big boss asks me to prepare info I will have it done!

Apparently Ellie driving my Mum mad asking when her birthday is today >

eandh · 01/09/2008 16:01

Vino - did you chose your material?

Lizzzombie · 01/09/2008 17:39

canofworms - that car looks AMAZING! I'm insanely jealous! - I trust you'll be buying some suitablely posh fluffy dice to hang in the window!

eah - glad your meeting was constructive. Hope the change of hours next year suits your life more.

I'm so ill! I've got a streamer and a half off of DJ, who has a green snot river flowing out of his nose. Truly gross. I've already phoned in sick for tomorrow, I'm going to drop him off at nursery and sleeeeeeeep! x

theSuburbanDryad · 01/09/2008 17:56

Hi everyone - finally got our internet back after the weekend. The BT landline went down and they couldn't fix it until today Oh well, it meant we got lots of time to do stuff together and we took Z to a leisure pool yesterday. His face when he was coming down the slide! He's such a little water baby!

Got scan on Friday (LTH bullied me into chasing it!) so will find out how far along i am then. Got a huge bump already though, and can no longer fit into my pretty work clothes, so am in ugly maternity trousers. Gah! People at work keep asking me how far along i am, and when i say, "I don't know, somewhere between 3 and 4 months," they look really surprised. I think my "bump" could actually be large amounts of cheese though...

Reggiee · 01/09/2008 19:23

Hi all.

Lizz hope you have a lovely day tomorrow snuggled up in your bed . Get well soon!

Hi UD. How exciting for Friday!! Is there definitely only one in there?

Canofworms cars don't do it for me, but pmsl that you went in for a look and came out with a lovely car.

Eah really pleased all went (mostly) well today. Not long til your hols now. Are you as excited as the girls?

Hiya Vino. Hope you managed some time to yourself today and a haircut. Must get mine done. Still. Does your mum make quilts for your friends at a discount rate? I've been admiring loads of different bedding sets and their matching quilts cost loads.

Lal quite a few schools started back today here. Can't believe it's Sept already. BTW, thankyou for your lovely FB message. I got P a Teletubbies magazine (I am liking the Teletubbies 'snap' game that was free with this month's issue

Kat I cry all the time too (but only when there's no one in to see). The worst for me is when I 'accidently' watch that dreadful US programme Extreme Makeover Home edition

2H glad you've had a nice couple of weeks hols. Why didn't you spend it all on MN whilst dh looked after the ds's?

LTH how's the hard man of the house? Will he still have a black eye when he returns to school?

Wilkie where are you hiding?

Wilkiepedia · 01/09/2008 19:26

Hello

Can - SOOOOO jealous of your car!! Are you getting it in pimptastic white? Lucky thing

Lizz - much sympathy on the snot issues

Vino - did you get your material?

UD - am dying to find out how far along you are! Perhaps you are actually 8 months pg??

Had a successful weekend. It was the Pro's Weekend at the golf club, M&D had J from Fri-Sun as we worked all weekend. Made £600 for charidee (children's ward at the local hospital!!!!).

Only downside was that when M&D brought J back, he didn't want me. He just kept holding his arms up to mum saying 'Grandma cuddle, grandma cuddle, no mummy...' Then this morning he woke up and I went in to get him and he said 'Grandma? Grandma?' and SOBBED when I said she had gone home.

How gutted.

Ah. The fickle life of a toddler Wilkie.

theSuburbanDryad · 01/09/2008 19:54

I bet he spent all weekend asking for you though!!

ladytophamhatt · 01/09/2008 20:45

Ds1's eye is much better. Concidering what it looked like I'm really surprised its as good as it is TBH. Theres bruising on his cheek still and around his eye but pretty much all of the swelling has gone.
Just a teeny bit in the corner of his eye onto his nose but everywhere else its fine.

the bruise is deep deep purple still so I think it will still be there for thursday.....I'm sure he'll love that though.

I took G on a bike ride today, Ds3 learnt to ride with out stabilisers and G was in the bike seat thing. It was surprising good fun so I minght start going out with him more often once Ds3 starts school.

better go, screaming child.....
