Ohhh thanks Eah .

Hmmm...baking. Might just do that.

eandh · 28/08/2008 19:15

another one

another one

eandh · 28/08/2008 19:16

if you do baking Hattie loves anything with pastry as she plays with the dough so jam tarts, fruit pie

If not fairy cakes or biscuits good we made apple pie last night and today some lovely chocoltae brownies that are still a tiny bit gooey in the middle mmmmnnn

eandh · 28/08/2008 19:18

oh and Hattie has the butterfly set from NExt (was old version so def more lilac than the pinky lilac they have now) but its beautiful as butterflies on duvet/curtians have sequins detailing and the curtain pole has sequined butterflies on the ends and she has the transfers/stickers all around the middle of the room plus a butterfly canopy over her bed

..... sneaking back in after being awol all summer .........

Congratulations DH. Hope you are all doing well.

PCF, I've got one of those loo seats that fit into a normal loo, making the gap smaller. It means they can sit on the loo themselves without falling in. Beats potty cleaning ! We are having some success in that area too. He will sign if he needs to go, but only if he's nappy-less. As soon as the nappy is back on he'll use it. Typical lazy boy. I think I'll wait till next summer before getting him out of nappies though. I cant bring myself to cope with the hassle just yet.

Sorry the jobs not what you were thinking Wilkie, but its early days just yet. Hang in there.

My biggest news ......

I've given up BF after 19 months (and I didn't have to get PG either 2H ).

DS bit me in his sleep and it was bloody painful, in fact I was asleep at the time too, dreaming I was driving really fast and my tyres were on the rumble strip. Then my arm was getting squashed with the G force against the window. Mad eh ? Then I woke up covered in blood and in agony. So from then on it was cold turkey for a couple of days. A not so tough decision to stop in the end.

So Lizz (where are people when you need them ?) how long should I wait before I get myself measured up again? I've definitely deflated and a couple of pre preg bras fit well again, but I think I'm in need of some retail therapy in that department !

I'm a bit concerned (but not overly yet) that DS2 isnt making any words. He will say 'Dada' if asked and occasionally 'mama'. He babbles occasionally, but he communicates mostly by pointing and grunting and the odd sign. He will roar and miaow, but thats about it. TBH I cant remember when the other 2 spoke, but do you think he should be saying more ?(bear in mind that he is a month older than yours as well)

Put me down for the SS this year too, cant believe I'm thinking about this now in August !

Wow.... the skies are filled with about 300 swallows and housemartins all just swooping about. Is theis the end of the summer ?

Right off to watch, will be back loads this weekend as DH off to spain to collect DD, so plenty of time to get back into MN after 8 weeks absence !

laughalot · 29/08/2008 15:31

Kat I had this exact conversation on here the other day lauren is totally useless at talking she understands everything I say but just babbles away. I think as long as they are doing the babbling and pointing them its ok ,and also if he turns when you call his name. Aidan was a late talker I think we just forget .

eandh · 29/08/2008 16:44

Right having yet another shit day at work, having a meeting with my boss and big boss on Monday as this can't continue, plus MIL struggling with kids all day on Friday so am asking to change my hours from new year (fingers crossed they say yes as it'll fit perfectly for when E starts school next year plus I only lose 4 hours a month which we can just about afford to lose)

So far for Secret Santa we have:-
EandH
LTH
Rgee
Wilkie
Kw3K
Laughalot
PCF(?)
UD

I'm imagining Vino and Lizz will join to but have I missed anyone who is normally 'with us'

eandh · 29/08/2008 16:45

obviously 2happy as well

Reggiee · 29/08/2008 18:40

Hello.
Well I went out to Tropical World this morning then baked sultana fairy cakes this afternoon then sat and watched CBeebies so ta for your suggestions yesterday Eah.
Is H better btw, and what shit is happening at your work?

Hi PCF. Have you been playing with all the new toys? Does M drink lots of fluids? I've heard constipation can be a really common problem with lo's pooing.

Wow Kat - long time no see . Sorry but pmsl about your dream. Did you think you'd crashed when you woke up to the carnage around you?
Kat / Lal I also heard that 2nd/3rd born children don't speak as quickly as 1st borns.

Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

eandh · 29/08/2008 20:05

Its all to do with my hours, basically I am contracted to work 15.5 but actually do 15 (monday and friday 8.30 to 5 minus lunch break) now my boss wants the 0.5 per week for the whole year so wants me to work 2 saturdays a month to make them up (originally the idea was the 0.5hour would be made up by me working at home 2hours a month but I work my arse off at my days at work to get everything done whilst I am there) The added problem is dh works at least 1 in 3 saturdays so basically means one of us always at work (and I'm pissed of he hasnt mentioned it before now)

To top it off I need to change my hours next year for when Ellie goes to schoolm but MIL finding it hard having them 7.30 to 5.30 plus her Mum who has dementia lives with them. Been in tears about it all today but decided to ask for change and reduction of hours so I will do 8.30 to 5 on Mondays (Mum happy to keep that) 9.30 to 2.30 on Fridays (means I can take/pick up from school) then 1 saturday and 1 wednesday a month (9-1) which works out 14hours per week

God that was a long, whingy, self indulgent post

theSuburbanDryad · 29/08/2008 21:20

Time for some more pictures of Z (this'll cheer you up EAH! )

Here he is, we were at my friend's house yesterday and she has an ELC climbing frame in her garden which her 3 year old uses. Z was up on it in a second - i had a mini heart attack!!

One more.

As you were.

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2008 21:30

Secret Santa - meeeeeeeeeeeeeee toooo purlese!

Eah - bummer about work hours. One of my mates has a similar dilemma next year. DD1 will be starting school and will bugger up nice routine she has with both DDs in nursery, so she'll have to cut hours or work (more) weekends. Its pants. I hate having to work, but the pittance which I bring home, we need desperately so theres nothing I can do about it. I'd give anything to be a sah(yummy)mummy. And drop off the kids and do yoga and have my nails done....different world those women live in! I had big plans to do courses and be creative with all the time I'd have and write a novel (hahahahahaha!) etc, and all I end up doing is the ironing, the cleaning, the shopping....etc.
Although. I can say with all honesty, I've discovered a new skill recently. I am FU*KING AMAZING at megablocks. I should have been a flipping architect! I'd be amazing at it. Seriously! Do you reckon if I took photos of all my structures I could use it as a portfolio and go back to uni!?!?!

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2008 21:35

KWK - Am afraid to say, I've now not BF since last June or something, and my boobs have gone down TWO, yes ,TWO FU*KING CUP SIZE. (oooh, can anyone tell I'm irate this evening?!) Pre preg was a nice plump 32FF, then went up to 32H and when DJ arrived, went up to a 34K at first, and settled at a 32J. Am now a 32H or 32GG.
Only 3 more cup sizes to go down until I am in proportion again. Ugh. May as well get pregnant again. HAH! Not!

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2008 21:39

One more thing...I've just realised. I was at Blackberry Farm again on Thursday. Eah - were you there? Or was it on Wednesday you were there?! Totally forgot about that.
Did you like it?

Am now officially blogging on a chat thread. Am offski to browse active convos and lurk for a bit!

eandh · 29/08/2008 21:43

Just a quick one as am off to bed, Lizz havent been anywhere this week as Hattie was poorly. We'll have to do a meet up there one day

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2008 22:02

Oh, no. I'm sorry to hear that.
Definately should arrange that.
LTH, PCF, and maybe (S)UD & Shimmer could make it too!

Hope H is better soon x

Wilkiepedia · 29/08/2008 22:18

Very quick one

PCF Try giving him fresh orange juice one a day - don't water it down, just one cup will do. It works wonders for constipation.

Will write more over weekend xx

Shimmer · 29/08/2008 22:19

Hiya all. I'm up for Secret Santa again!

Just spent ages catching up on everything and now too knackered to post... Will do so tomorrow instead. DP's working all weekend and me and F are home alone so lots of MN time coming up I think.

ladytophamhatt · 30/08/2008 10:29

A new photo on my profile.

DS1 had a fight with a vertical drop slide.

The slide won.

eandh · 30/08/2008 10:34

UD - cute pics of Zac
LTH- ouch that looks like it hurt!

Shimmer - DH off to watch footie this afternoon and currently still in bed therefore lots of MN time for me to although Ellie has got a party at 12.20 which is literally 30 seconds from our house, but because she hasnt been to this girls house before she wants me to stay so am praying Hattie doenst trash the place

canofworms · 30/08/2008 10:36

Hi all,

just back from holiday - went to visit my dad who lives in cyprus

But got loads of washing to do and lo won't leave me alone to get on with it so will stay on mn for a bit!

Will read through the recent posts too

Reggiee · 30/08/2008 12:59

Am loving the tip of the day

2Happy · 30/08/2008 17:22

I loved it too, RG, until I realised I'd misread it (thought it said to stop your baby from getting lost in the wash...)

Reggiee · 30/08/2008 17:35

Did you spot who the tip was from 2H?
