morning everyone! i've lost track of everyone completely so i've no idea who april is but big congrats anyway!

it was dh's b'day yesterday but fel bit bad because we didn't really celebrate. i was working so he had matilda but they seemed to have a good day. he cooked a lovely meal for us both and even ordered himself a birthday cake! i'm a bad wife! after a couple of days of high temp and not eating i think matilda is getting back to normal. she's in bed now so i'm taking advantage of the quiet to eat toast, watch olympics and trawl mumsnet. hope you all have good day

tasha22 · 19/08/2008 10:03

leifmum-lol at your dh ordering himself a bday cake

loler- was just scanning back to see who hasnt been here in a while and realised that you have been here so sorry for saying good to see you back. think it was meant for liefmum, its hard to keep up. yea the coil was really easily put in and hasnt given me much bother but i think it mite be making me put on weight either that or im looking for an excuse to eat and eat lol

snotdroolanddirtybums · 19/08/2008 10:10

thanks knickers

ds1 just said he didnt want me he wants to run away

GillL · 19/08/2008 12:40

Thanks James and knickers - you've given me some good ideas. Will check out Aitch's blog.

What time do your babies eat dinner? Ds eats at about 4:30 but I was thinking of getting mum to give him a snack around that time and then feeding him when I get home. We don't eat til at least 7pm in the evening but I feel that's just too late for him. If I had something already prepared I could sit him down to eat by about 6:15. Dd has eaten at the same time as us since she was about 18 months when she started to refuse dinner before I picked her up after work.

Knickers - I wouldn't worry about the dentist. I took dd for the first time recently and she's 3.5. She didn't have any problems. I'm sure your dd will be fine.

snotdroolanddirtybums - Like the new name! I lost count of the number of times dd said she didn't want me at the end of last year. It was quite upsetting one journey home when she screamed 'go away mummy I don't want you' for 15 minutes She's always telling dh she doesn't want him but when he's not there she tells me she wants daddy to come home

Pinkranger · 19/08/2008 12:42

who is it who is it...... Its not me! def not!

Happy birthday to all the lo! Welcome back loler!
hope everyone is well!

Pinkranger · 19/08/2008 12:55

Ds also has dinner around 4.30/5 - i give him whatever im cooking ds1 - he wont eat off a spoon either so i just put it on the high chair and let him tuck in, even does spag b0l on his own!

meandmyjoe · 19/08/2008 13:20

Aha think I may have figured it out April (at last, I seem to be a bit behind everyone else!) Congratulations!!!!!!

Well God knows whata going on with Joe but just had 30 mins on screaming in order to get him to nap. He was knackered and rubbing his eyes but everytime I laid him down or even tried to cuddle him to sleep he cried . He's fast asleep in my arms now though. Dunno what that was all about!

snot, love your new name! Let us know how the interview goes.

I'm amazed at all the babies who are refusing spoon feeding, I thought mine was the only awkward one, he would never eat off a spoon til about a month ago when he figured out he could do it himself. He still gets loads all over him but I'd say about 80% goes in his mouth!

x

lizziemun · 19/08/2008 13:27

Like the name Tasha.

Knickers Lizzie didn't see the dentist until 6mths ago and she now 4.7mths when a new NHS dentist at our local shops. Lexie saw the dentist at the same time although she had no teeth.

GillL dd's have their dinner anywhere from 4.30 to 5.30 depending when either i get organised or Lizzies starts asking i aim for 5pm. I have my dinner when DH gets in from work which could 7.30pm although last week i ate by myself as dh didn't get in till 10pm and 8.30pm and i couldn't wait that long.

meandmyjoe · 19/08/2008 13:41

Gill, ds eats his dinner at 5 ish. Sometimes 4:30, sometimes nearer 5:30 if I'm being slack! It varies depending on how tired he is and what I'm cooking!

GillL · 19/08/2008 15:15

That's good to know that they are all eating around the same time. Dh does most of the cooking in our house He does some stuff that I could save for ds and give him the next day but other stuff would have too much salt or wouldn't keep.

Mum didn't have much trouble spoon feeding him yesterday so hopefully that will continue. He must be saving it all for me I suppose it's a good thing that wants to feed himself - gives me more time to spoon feed dd

You're not behind me meandmyjoe. I've got a couple of ideas who April might be but I'm not at all sure.

snotdroolanddirtybums · 19/08/2008 16:32

wasnt much of an interview, had to take all the kids and ds2 started having a tantrum in the library and a lady came oveer and said she would get the tutor to ring me i felt really silly being there with 3 young children. the tutor phone and asked me to go back next tuesday and said i will be starting on the 17th sept.

gill- hes ok now hes decided it would be a good idea to stay as im making stew lol it is heartbraking but i just say 'well i love you' i normally do dinner about half 5ish. lo is still eating 1st stage dinners but 2nd stage breakfasts so i find it quite easy still to shovel a jar into him just before we sit down to dinner then give him a rusk to chew on while were having dinner. i often still have to spoon feed ds2 aswell he cant seem to get the hang of it lol mabe i should start letting ds3 try now so by the time hes ds2s age he should be able to manage ok.

knickers- my ds2 or 3 havent been to the dentist yet just my ds1 when he was about3yr and everything was fine.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 19/08/2008 20:10

wah thread moving too fast, can't keep up.

Have decided to redecorate my living in warm terracotta and cream tones in time for the winter (current cream and cornflower blue but I hate blue) will probably be doing it myself though as dp doesn't "do" DIY, he just says it.

James is making me laugh today! keeps doing a funny little thing where he pushes his lips up underneath his nose like this and breathes in and out fast through his scrunched up nose as if he's furious. Hard to describe but it's very funny!

snotdroolanddirtybums · 19/08/2008 20:44

Tash - lovely photos - bradleys lip is amazing. Can't see anything at all in the photos, and he's got huge too.

I was going to decorate before I went back to work. well, one week left and we're on holiday so guess it's not going to happen. I bought the paint 2 days before ds2 was born - it's still in the garage!

snotdroolanddirtybums · 19/08/2008 22:05

lol at the paint still in the garage

yeh i think so although dp isnt happy with his nose but i think hes perfect
