Hello, hello, hello !!!!

So sorry to hear about all these dreadful work worries that everyone's going through. Can't happen at more stressful time of year I don't think. There were redundancies at my work last week as well which obviously caused extreme distress to some.

Saw Hollytree's hello to me on the Jan 09 thread which is a miracle as I never go on there and only have done today as am soooooo incredibly fed up that I can't face all the usual chores I do when Paddy's at nursery. We're all sick, sick, sick here which I'm sure won't come as a surprise to most people, and I'm sure when I read this thread properly you'll all be in the same boat. Paddy's been ill for about 6 weeks now with bronchiolitis and dreadful ear infections that have left us currently on the third load of antibiotics and after weeks of bad sleeping has just completed his third full night in row which is probably what has saved him from the workhouse and DH and I from a mental hospital.

Am now 36 weeks large and currently suffering from my second heavy cold in succession, I've got hand, foot and mouth which is just not going anywhere and because the blisters on my feet are so sore I can't go anywhere either, and just to compound it all I got an upset stomach yesterday morning which has continued into today. Worst of all, I went to the bakers to buy a loaf of bread quickly, came home, looked at it and it's got poppy seeds on it.... I FECKIN' HATE POPPY SEEDS !!! This, caused complete emotional meltdown and I must have cried for 20 minutes. Gotta love the hormones....

Now - who can give me a rundown of all your latest big news in brief to help me catch up ?

hollytree · 18/12/2008 12:31

wow - hi tokentotty - for lots of glum news- you do it in a very happy way .

sorry to hear about all the sickness - think it is the same all over just now but sounds like poor paddy's had it pretty bad. am wodering if ds has an ear thing as nothing would settle him last night and he was all hot and couldnt get comfy - could be his sore bum too though i suppose.

36 weeks - thats exciting - do you have less time than last time to get bored at the end cause of having paddy to chase around after, or does the last few weeks still drag?

am probably not the best person to give a decent rundown as I have a rubbish memory and would probably get confused with the due in april thread, but think most people are in general enjoying their los - they all seem to be at a very cute age.

Good luck for the next few weeks.

tokentotty · 18/12/2008 13:13

Just saw your bit about feeling the baby move Conker and had to laugh - this lo is an absolute lunatic. Honestly. I thought Paddy was lively but this child can go round and round for over an hour at a time. Bit of a worry on Monday as after starting the Hand, foot and feckin' mouth business on Sunday I felt quite unwell, getting worse and worse. Come Sunday night I was trying to get into bed and was shaking so violently that DH wanted to take me to hospital. The fever broke during the night but the next day Jellybean wasn't moving at all so ended up getting Betty (the midwife TM) round to check all was well. Am now trying not to moan and squeak so much when the usual craziness starts again and just feel grateful that I know things are ok.

UKI just seen your news - how was yesterday's scan ????

tokentotty · 18/12/2008 13:56

Just updated my profile with a few more pics too.

hollytree · 18/12/2008 14:22

he is gorgeous tt - great pictures - see he likes to climb on things too.

i had totally forgotten about bettythemidwife - is she becoming a family friend now?

sorry if i missed this before, but do you know what flavour of baby it is, or is it a surprise? have you found choosing names this time easy enough - we are finding it so much harder and havent even got a very short list yet - but still plenty of time.

tokentotty · 18/12/2008 14:29

To be honest, we do know what we're having but have denied this to the ENTIRE world !!! Well, apart from one friend and she's a mnetter so utterly trustworthy on the keeping quiet front. Despite this, we've found choosing names incredibly, incredibly difficult. There hasn't been anything that I've loved as much as I loved Patrick and we've been waiting for that lightbulb moment which has been spectactularly un-forthcoming.

Still - I think we've got it now......drum roll.....

Anais

Not the sort of name that anyone will expect from us at all but for some reason we both like it. I'd thought of it but didn't bother even mentioning it to DH, and then a couple of weeks ago he came home from work and said it that he liked it to me. I nearly fell off the sofa !! It's the name of someone at his work I think and I have a feeling it might be the one.

hollytree · 18/12/2008 15:11

fantastic - thats a lovely name - unusual and very pretty. we are honoured that you've revealed it to us . I love it when a name just feels right - like you with Patrick and us with Struan, and if its happened again for you this time, then I will hold out hope that something will come to us soon.

So exciting another new baby on the way very soon. My cousin had a baby on Monday and saw some pics on her friends Bebo page today and he's gorgeous but tiny (came a few weeks early).

Hersetta · 18/12/2008 16:37

Hey TT - good to hear from you. Lovely pics of Paddy and you look a bloomin picture of health (even if you don't feel it at the moment). We've been lucky - I had the lurgy that seems to be sweeping round Broadgate and it lasted for 3 weeks and the only person who didn't pick it up from me was Caitlin, for which i am very grateful.

Sorry we can't meet up at the I* Childrens Xmas party next week but found out it's for over 2's only - but maybe next year!

Love the baby name - very soft and pretty (without being poncey IYKWIM).

Do you have a date for your CS yet?

tokentotty · 18/12/2008 17:42

Hey Hersetta !! I've been meaning to come on and find you about the I* party next week as I was thinking of just going up to the office to visit anyway but got Paddy's nursery concert on Tuesday afternoon and just booked ante-natal for 11-12ish that day too.

As for a date.....just been confirmed as second on the list for Weds 7th Jan so please spare me a thought as I reckon I'll got into nervous wreck mode the day or two beforehand. I know I've done it before but that was an emergency section so I didn't have to think about things and had consumed my fair share of drugs which took the edge off any nerves !!

thanks for your comments about our name. It isn't at all what we were 'looking for' as such and it couldn't be less obvious as a match for Patrick, but hey - so what ?? Your name will come Conkertree !!!

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 18/12/2008 19:26

Wow TT, cannot believe you are 36weeks already!!!!!! And you are looking great for it!!

The name you have chosen is beautiful!

TreeandMistleJoe · 18/12/2008 19:55

i love the name you have chosen tt. it's very very pretty and sounds cute but sophisticated all at the same time!

hope all the pg ladies are doing well, i can't believe how quickly your pg's are going. it seemed at the time like i was pregnant for about 3 years with joseph!

knickers hope ds is settling in well and is sleeping a bit better for you. xxx

Uki · 19/12/2008 09:52

Hi All
I was away for a week, had fab time shopping and showing the dc's the city of melbourne.

How's this for preggy brain, tried to catch up reading posts and read about 2 dozen and realized i couldn't remember any of the news and connect with goings on, then realized i was reading posts from OCTOBER

anyway TT and hollytree- The Scan went great.
baby is growing in so fast my date got pushed from 1st aug to 29th july and nice strong heartbeat 188bpm . i was really worried because i have had 4 mmc's so odds arn't great for myself, and even though i had extra tests and stuff before concieving i was soooo worried. huge relief, have started telling people now.

TT -congrat's on the little sister for Patrick, lovely the name too

Is anyone else decorations managing to stay on the tree, LL is loving looking at them a bit too much.{fwink]

what's everyone up to for christmas?

Hersetta · 19/12/2008 15:56

TT - the elective will be a breeze. When I went in for mine if was very relaxing, they explained every step of what was going to happen and it was all very calm (even though I didn't end up having it!!).

I fear Caitlin has learnt a phrase that will haunt me for the next two years. We were reading a book together last night and as she turned every new page she'd point at something and say "wat dat' to which I'd reply a teddy bear. Next page "wat dat", a cat, to which she'd say 'ow' as she can't quite manage meow. Go through the whole book and back to page 1 and "wat dat" a teddy bear. Reapeat ad neauseum - arghhh!!

When i walked in from work last night she was playing and just looked up at me and said 'ello you' as that's what I normally say to her when i walk in - very cute. She seems to learn something new everyday now - it's amazing to watch them develop.

Uki - brilliant news about the scan - so pleased for you and all our other pregnant ladies.

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 19/12/2008 16:59

Uki, glad you had a nice time away and yay for the scan news! Dd not fussed by the tree thankfully! Think she is teething. Only sign I get is her nappies being bad and her being abit grumpy. Had a really scarey morning, was laid in bed when all of a sudden heard footsteps and then our bedroom door bang open and dd came running in. Dp must not have closed her safety gate properly and she managed to get out of her room. Really lucky that she came into us as he hadnt shut the gate at the top of the stairs either and with it being an open, wooden staircase she could of done herself some serious damage
Hersetta, dd sounds so cute say wat dat!

GillL · 19/12/2008 21:11

Blimey, I thought I'd caught up the other day but there seems to have been a flurry of activity yesterday. I didn't really get the chance to post yesterday at work as I was trying to make sure everything was done in time for my Christmas holiday. I was off today and I'm not back in the office until 29th Dec

It's my birthday today. Got some spa vouchers so I'm hoping to get something booked in for the new year.

Took the dcs to see Father Christmas today. The queue was long but it was worth it. There was a ride and lots to look at all the way round. Most of the kids were really well behaved. Both of mine went shy and clung to me but at least they didn't cry.

I said the other day that ds has 2 teeth that have just cut through. Well, he actually has 4 - 2 top front and 2 top molars. No wonder he's not been sleeping well. He's had a really sore bum recently too.

TT - good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about all the illness. Hope it all clears up in time for the baby's arrival. You must be getting really excited. Love the name by the way!

uki - great news about the scan. Hope you're feeling well. We'll be at my mum and dad's for most of Christmas day and then at pil's for an hour or so in the evening after they finish work.

Knickers - you must have been very relieved. I keep leaving the side of ds's cot down. Fortunately he hasn't thought to try to climb out yet.

TreeandMistleJoe · 20/12/2008 06:44

hope you had a lovely birthday gill!!! hope you enjoy your trip to the spa, sounds like a good way to pamper yourself and relax in the new year .

bloody hell knickers that is scary about dd! god it doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened, so pleased she decided to burst in and see you instead!

hersetta, joe is the same with the 'as dat?' i love it but it does get a bit monotonous when he asks what the same thing is 12 times in a row . she sounds very sweet though!

anyway all ok here, joe woke at 5:30 so i feel like i've been up for ages!

hope all is ok.

xxxxx

GillL · 20/12/2008 12:20

I had a good birthday thanks Joe, except when dh and I tried to go to bed at 11. Dd woke up and screamed which then woke ds up. Dh was really angry with her and shouted at her just because it meant he would have to wait another night to get lucky. I was up with them til just after midnight. I didn't get much of a lay in unfortunately.

Ds says 'dat' a lot when he points at things. He has said quite a few words in the past but he stops saying them after a few days and moves on to something else. He mostly says mama which I find really sweet.

TreeandMistleJoe · 20/12/2008 12:55

awww poor dd. on the rare occassions ds does wake up in the night, it's ALWAYS ALWAYS been the times me and dh are in the mood , everytime we try and do anything like that, joe's sex sensor goes off and he decides he's teething or hungry and needs comfort immediately! hence the reason we have only had sex about 10 times since ds was born! i think joe is just paranoid incase he gets a little brother or sister .

glad you had a good birthday apart from that though.

i went out to see my dad today and took joe out in the pushchair, just got back and left joseph in the pushchair next to me whilst preparing his dinner. i was chatting away to him and he was chattering back. after a couple of mins he'd gone quiet, i looked down and he was fast asleep, bless him, he must have been shattered from the early morning wake up. he doesn't normally have his nap til after 1 or 2 ish.

anyway, got my best friend coming round today to drop off christmas presents so i'd better go!

TreeandMistleJoe · 21/12/2008 13:59

spoke too soon about the rare occassions ds gets up in the night, he was up howling at 4am this morning. i didn't really figure out why either, he just seemed to want to cuddle me and rub his head on my shoulder . teething???? or just plain wierdness???? not sure!

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 21/12/2008 19:25

Sounds Like teething joe. Bless him. DD was running round her room at 3am this morning. Has not had a nap all day and is whinging in her room now

TreeandMistleJoe · 21/12/2008 19:46

3am knickers? did she go back to bed or was she just charging around?! you must be shattered with ds aswell. think it could have been teeth with ds this morning, his cheeks have been very red this past few days and he isn't eating as much as he would normally.

joseph has gone to bed fine and hopefully he'll stay that way til 6am .

hope you have a decent night's sleep knickers and dd stays firmly in her bed!

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 21/12/2008 19:52

She was charging around for the most the night. She's back downstairs now after having a dose of calpol and some cough medicine. She even has her dummy and flospy and I never let her have them unless it is 'bedtime'/nap time.

Hope he stays in bed for you Joe, you never know, he may ven suprise you and not get up till gone 8am

TreeandMistleJoe · 21/12/2008 20:11

God, i'd be terrified he was dead if he slept in for that long! . he's always woke up early since he was about 8 months old , how i miss the days of putting him down at 7 and him sleeping through til 8am.... ahhhh, seems like a long time ago now! i'm still very lucky though (touch wood!).

poor dd, does she not seem tired? she must be exhausted after going all day with no nap, especially if she was up all night. maybe she's a bit over tired and can't drop off???? joe gets more and more manic when he's tired, he never really winds down, he winds up when he's tired! we have to remove him from all stimulation and put him in his totally dark room for a cuddle then bed other wise he just bounces off the walls! hopfully the calpol will kick in soon and she'll be desperate for bed! didn't know she had a cough/ cold, hope she crashes out soon and sleeps well!

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 21/12/2008 20:22

All is quiet now thankfully. Hope she sleeps better tonight cos I'm off into town tomorrow and cant do with a whingy toddler when it's very busy

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 21/12/2008 21:41

She's sat eating toast and drinking milk now
