no idea yet daisy still waiting, i hate the nhs

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 22:09

natty, i think that's a load of rubbish tbh. I met a woman at the BFing picnic on Moday who is 7.5 months pregnant and had her daughter in a sling, albeit on her back.

I think the main danger is from you doing some injury to your stretching ligaments rather than harm to the baby; even when the baby is bigger.

lots of sling stuff online so you could maybe have a google or ask on here? holly and PoP are both sling users so thay might be able to help.

Silly question Daisy!!

Poor old L - this afternoon - she had the exploding nappy from hell and then has since been sick 6 times!! She's been really pale and listless too. She's asleep at the moment, but I keep checking on her.

I think thats a load of rubbish too Natty.

DKMA · 23/07/2008 22:16

That sounds like a load of shit if you ask me Natty (not that I know what I'm talking about though!)

Hi all

DKMA · 23/07/2008 22:16

NattyPlusTwo · 23/07/2008 22:18

oh, poor L . there are lots of sicky bugs going around at the minute. My friends DS was ill at the end of last week and the weekend. They are camping out here tomorrow as they have the builders in; I hope he's better as we are off on our hols on Friday.

right, am off to bed, via the medicine cabinet for gaviscon. that'll teach me to steal DDs chocy buttons

Morning

I went round to see next door last night about the dog.

She was on her way out so I caught her at quite a bad time. She was delighted that I had asked her (I think!) and said that her head was screaming "yes" but she needed the night to think about the logistics (is that the right word?) of it and perhaps need to come to some arrangement of me popping in to see the dog etc.

She's coming round this afternoon after she has thought about it.

I just think that this will be best for the dog as she will get so much more attention. Next door drives (as I don't) so she will be able to take her to the big park and let her have good walks and I'll still be able to see her.
She used to get out so much but now she just seems BORED! Even my mum has noticed a difference in her.
I just feel so horrible and ashamed [crap emoticon]

Natty, that person who said you shouldn't be carrying your DD in a sling is talking bll*ks! What, so you should NEVER lift your toddler when they are tired or upset? Rubbish!
I remember lifting my dog when I was pregnant with DD and my mum gasping. I also remember my mum telling me that I needed to be careful when pegging the washing out as you aren't supposed to stretch your arms! Eh??? WTF am I gonna do my stretching my arms?

Daisy, glad all is well in the Daisy bump
Hope babyboo isn't suffering too much with her teeth.

Andiem, the flat looks fab! How cute are your DSs? They are lovely.

Jammy, sorry to hear about your row with DH. Hope everything is ok.

JBM, sorry DD is sick. Hope she had a good sleep and is better today.

I've just heard a thud from upstairs, so sounds like DD is up and dancing about in her cot! Best go and get her.

Hope everyone has a lovely day! Looks like we are in for another warm day (I hope!)

HellHathNoFury · 24/07/2008 07:45

morning Izzy

Sounds like you are doing the right thing by your dog, even though it must be terribly hard. I found out last night that I can't take my dog with me to Aus when I go so I will find myself in your shoes myself soon.

The have strict rules on health for export and my dog is (and will always be) ill, he lives on medication and special food for his allergies, and I can't get his special food out there either. So feeling a bit...empty and depressed. I know how you feel.

Natty, that surestart lady is talking out of her arsehole.

I am going to work in a minute.

Also, apologies, my DH is a knob. He has been telling everyone that DS is 15kgs. The other night I said to him 'Are you SURE? that seems a hell of a lot' and then he checked and found that actually it was 12kg. Loser.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2008 07:46

Izzy, good luck with the neighbour later on. I'm sure you can work something out between you.

I have been awake since 5:30 as i just couldn;t get back to sleep. so am up and showered, one load of washing done and another in the machine and the dishwasher is on too. am about to get Dd up and then it;s kitchen duties today. My kitchen stinks of cat food and it's horrible.

DD shouting for me; gotta go

enjoy the sun today while I am slaving indoors with the housework

OP posts:
andiem · 24/07/2008 07:51

morning all 05.30 start here as well

washing out and ds2 back down for a nap already!

off out for a mums picnic today and then some gardening it has been sorely neglected

also am meeting fairy for a coffee in starbucks

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/07/2008 08:20

Hello. 5.30 here as well. By 8.00 I'd unloaded the dishwasher, hung out 3 loads of washing from yesterday, stripped the spare bed and put that on to wash, cleaned up in the kitchen and made DH's lunch. So we might get to go out this morning after all as well as going swimming this afternoon

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2008 08:32

I have just ejected my breakfast (from both ends ) and am sitting here on the sofa with horrible stomache cramps

and have another two loads of washing to do plus cleaning the kitchen form top to bottom as well as ironing and packing for our holiday tomorrow and marshalling two unrluy children.

help.

andiem · 24/07/2008 08:42

oh no daisy [helpless emotcion from andiem]

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/07/2008 09:13

That's awful, Daisy

LittleMissNorty · 24/07/2008 09:13

Oh blimey Daisy......hope you're ok....

I don't know where you lot get the energy from to do all this housework ....I was up at 6 and we had to get the bed out of the bedroom as our new carpet is being fitted today....I've hoovered downstairs and been to the dentist for a (very anxious) check-up....come home...DD in bed and me in front of MN....as usual

Its so HOT already.....I know I shouldn't complain, but I really don't do hot weather!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/07/2008 09:18

Hi Norty. You've reminded me, I must ring dentist and make appointments.

Have now also washed up all the recycling, changed cat litter, tidied dining room, folded and sorted clean laundry & put half of it away, and put another load on to wash. But no swimming as it's holiday time so no toddler session today

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2008 09:18

norty; I saw my psych yesterday and mentioned your doc not giving you anything till 18 weeks. He was quite shocked by that as he thought that anxiousness and depression in mum can lead in itself to problems with the baby. He said you should get your GP to refer you to him . I explained you weren't local though.

Fingers crossed this is a lightening bug and the kids don;t get it in time for our holidays.

DD is emptying the baby box and bringing me teething granules and medicine spoons. Do you think it's a hint?

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 24/07/2008 09:28

Well I'm 12 weeks this week so will be going back to see my doc soon....I have a scan next Thursday so perhaps I'll feel better after the scan

I am better than I was but just cannot get a grip on it....my eating is dreadful cos I'm so scared of being sick all the time (and I often am)....the only saving grace is that I can put it down to MS

Right, well I'm still bloody sitting here! Going to do something useful now....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/07/2008 09:40

Hope you feel more together soon norty, or that you manage to get some treatment.

And hope it is a flash in the pan thing for you Daisy, don't want your holidau spoilt.

Our poor cat just finally had enough and gave the jamlet a little scratch when she pulled her tail for the umpteenth time. It wasn't much of a scratch and I don't blame the cat at all, and hopefully jamlet might learn something from it. Or maybe not ...

HellHathNoFury · 24/07/2008 11:51

Dh has an interview here tomorrow, I am going to give him the grand tour afterwards. I am all excited!

Izzybel · 24/07/2008 12:22

DD down for her nap. Not sure what time ND is coming round. Looks like she is out at the minute though.

Oh Fury, that's so sad that you can't take your dog with you to Australia
I remember that they have strict rules on health for export as my sister's friend has just emigrated there. She has 3 dogs and she has taken them all but they were on antibiotics for ages before they could go because they had some kind of bacteria or something that they wouldn't allow. One of the dogs couldn't get rid of it so my sister had to have him for a while before the bacteria was cleared and he could join them in Austrailia. You must feel gutted Are there any relatives that would take him so that you can still see him and make sure that he is doing ok?

LOL at DH saying that your DS is 15KG when he's 12! Haven't had DD weighed for ages, but last time (around her birthday) she was 9.15KG. She's a skinny minnie!

Jammy, sounds like you have done a lot this morning! Right, now can you come to my house and sort my washing please? It's the big huge pile at the top of the stairs!

Daisy, oh no that's awful. I hope it's not a bug! Is there anyone who can give you a hand with the packing? DH? If I was you I would sod the housework, but that's just me .

Norty, hope the doctor gets you sorted. Can you get a 2nd opinion if this doctor is no help?
