Peachy, just read through some more earlier posts, thanks so much...can't wait to see it when (if?) it arrives.
Argh, got to go to bed..promised myself an earlier night.

VictorianSqualor · 14/08/2008 08:03

Sal, he probably wouldn't find anyway of eating it yet anyway, he'd be more likely to push anything he got into his mouth out with his tongue, but food play is probably best left until they can actually grab it themselves rather than being handed it iyswim.
Although if he was sat on your lap whilst you were eating dinner and grabbed something off your plate then it would be fine not to take it off him.
Does R like his bouncer??
Fecking electric company have told us the electric will be off between 8:30 and 2pm So won't be around much today.

Morning all! Welcome SushiMama! Love the name - yum!

My LO has decided over the last few nights that 4am is a good time to have a party in her cot! I am SO tired! Why is she doing this???? PLEASE someone have an answer and a solution! lol

MommyHasaHeadache · 14/08/2008 09:04

Ahhh - love my DH! He just offered (off his own back - no persuading from me!) to do the night shift tonight! Lovely, lovely man!

DonDons · 14/08/2008 09:33

morning all! Hi sushimama (mmmmmm sushi....)

Well last night was great - went for a lovely meal and drank far too much wine - leading me to a sleepless night but was worth it! Only checked my phone half a dozen times but DID NOT phone home so am feeling proud of myself ( don't laugh at me!)

Mommy - Amelie did this about 3 weeks ago and I was worried she was gearing up for solids but after a couple of days she went back to sleeping through so I think it was just a growth spurt - hope yours stops soon

Amelie's bouncer arrived today courtesy of e-bay (£5!) and she loves it - so cute to see her trying to walk in it, she's a total nutter.

Hope you all have a great time tomorrow

Peachy · 14/08/2008 09:33

agree with vs on grabbing themselves- but be warned, Bas can do that but then he also seems close to crawling (can do a little) and ds1 could at 5 months, could wal at 10

YoungYolandaYorgensen · 14/08/2008 09:54

Welcome SushiMama!
( chipmonkey here BTW)

SalLikesCoffee · 14/08/2008 10:24

MommyHasaHeadache, how lovely of your dh! Makes it a million times nicer that you didn't have to ask.

Glad the night out was so good, DonDons. Had to laugh at the checking phone, but only because I'm always doing the same.

Peachy, wow! He really is very advanced, isn't he? I'm secretly hoping (but somehow not convinced) that Roelof will be extremely slow in starting to crawl & walk , as our flat needs some serious babyproofing... (e.g. amp etc are all still "baby height" ).

Roelof loves his bouncer, was laughing out of his tummy earlier. I think he might have overexhausted himself (not that I'm complaining), as he demanded food and have since been passed out on his fleece next to me. They look like little angels when asleep. Awww.

VictorianSqualor · 14/08/2008 10:55

Alex keeps 'crawling' up his cot as well, little bleeder. If sat on my lap he'll grab food from my plate, but just as he grabs my hands, it's just because something is there, it rarely makes it to his mouth and even then he just sucks it, doesn't bite or chew.

Thankfully the electric came back on quite quickly, I need to paint the kids rooms but can't do it without music!

Ella just shut Bobby's fingers in the door. Ouch.

Peachy · 14/08/2008 11:04

I've had to complain about our crib as it's up to six months but Bas just wriggled and got stuck in the bars , unuseable. I know i had it too long without using to get a refund but they need (babiesrus) to know as t was really dangerous.

We were discussng stairgates today.... we need 5, 2 in odd sizes, as there are extra entrances to kitchen (only needed 1 before in old house). Not sure ds3 will be able to access bathroom then- potential nightmare scenario!

Late walkers are easier apart from the worry Mums seem to have- ds3 (opre-regression) walked late-ish )15 months), by which tme he understood no etc. Whereas with ds1 and ds2 it was like just letting a spinning top go and see where it causes chaos

Feeling distinctly autumnal today, light has 'that' quality iykwim. Be Christmas asoon!

DonDons · 14/08/2008 11:26

at Christmas! They'll be stocking the blardy mince pies in Sainsbos by next month I'll bet

PortAndLemon · 14/08/2008 12:37

If it's not fit for purpose you should be entitled to a refund anyway.

scorpio1 · 14/08/2008 12:40

ds1 didnt walk until 16 months, but ds2 did at 11 months, v strange for me!

had a nice walk out this morning, gorgeous here today.

woke at 4am last night. hope this isnt 'it' now??

VictorianSqualor · 14/08/2008 12:46

Scorpio, is DS1 R? It's R that has dyspraxia isn't it? The paed said to em that dyspraxia can make late walkers. Dd didn't walk until nearly 14 months, DS1 walked at about 11 months.

I've just had the letter from the Paed confirming what I thought, DD's fine motor skills are severely affected, her gross motor skills and sequencing are affected but thankfully her behaviour and neurological exam are fine.

The Occ Therapy team have also contacted me today about her therapy.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 14/08/2008 12:47

ds1 is R, yes & dyspraxic, he was late to do pretty much everything

hope you feel ok? soz am bfing

SushiMama · 14/08/2008 12:52

Hi everyone!
Izzy's been partying a few nights in the past week too! I wake up to her talking really loudly to herself at 4am!

She has been trying to roll over, but I am trying my best to stop her from "advancing" too quickly! Wanna hold on to my baby! My SIL says I'm in denial.

The plan is to go back to work in 5, coming up to 4 (eek!) weeks. 4 days a week, but will be working late.

Yes would love to come to the meet-up. Is it still 2pm at South Bank?

Incidentally, I was in Selfridges at the weekend, and they have their Christmas room up already! I was well shocked! Christmas music was playing too! In August!

SalLikesCoffee · 14/08/2008 13:21

VS, are you ok? I know you've suspected this, so not sure if it's good news so that you could at least go from here to help her or if it's a bit of a blow. I'm really relieved to hear her behaviour and neurological exams were fine. xxx

Re Christmas - it's just wrong!!! There's a thread on mumsnet about christmas or something and i've convinced myself it's been going since last year (haven't actually read it, just saw on "last 15 minutes" often), but now i worry it's current!

SalLikesCoffee · 14/08/2008 14:01

Oh, and yes, SushiMama, all details here. I've added your name to the list.

Peachy · 14/08/2008 15:04

VS hope you're feeling OK

Sam (ds1) is dyslexic as well as asd , would it have been 6 months without I wonder? LOL

no actually he's really sporty so makes sense- kept getting taken on stage to dance on holiday- but I did know a 8 month walker through work (saw it myself or would have )

DS2 just been taken to GP by Dh.... ds1 thumperd him in the penis 2 days ago, has gone all nasty

scorpio1 · 14/08/2008 15:10

Ouch for ds2. Peachy.

Mimi has taking a farking hour to go to sleep. She is getting used to sleeping on me , also wondering if this night wake is need for milk or just waking for comfort iyswim,

Going to nip this sleeping on me thing in the bud today though. She is also getting worse and being on her own - say in chair or something, have to remember to leave her alone iyswim.

DH appears to be getting down this last few days though not sure why, he says he doesnt know. I need him to help me, I dont have enough strength to fully support him at mo. i feel so terrible for that though. He says he wants to see me, have some time with me. We really do just pass each other in the hall at mo. Mimi had bottle last night, dh fed her and she just wouldnt settle at all. 30 mins later i dive in (on his request) and she stops within 10 secs. He almost cried says he feels like he is useless, but he is the best dad ever to her. Its so hard.

Peachy · 14/08/2008 16:09

Scorpio, Dh is having exactly the same problem with Bas, it's getting him down too. He did refer to it as a result of my 'bloody breastfeeding' but I know that's because he had a really close relatinship with the others as babies, as Bas frankly isn't interested in him . Dh is hating work more by the day (it's turned him since our holiday, 4 shifts, from happy healthy chap to walking dead again), and what he wants is to relax with his baby, ot be screeched at the minute he picks him up.
Am hoping it will pass, am getting Dh to give the solids though and hoping that helps.

Bas isn't sleeping great either.... he sleeps well after his tea (the solids meal) then wakes at 12-ish and doesn't resettle properly, at least not without my nipple! Hoping its just growth spurt.

scorpio1 · 14/08/2008 16:17

Thanks Peachy Because the others were all FF, he used to feed them at least once a day; do the nights etc. He hasn't said anything about the BF but he said about Mimi wanting boobs and how he cant help her with that . He is great with her in all other ways though; they share baths (big issue for dh as things to do with his childhhod) and she really truly adores him. I just want him to perk up. Work is stressing him at the mo too, plus he is in training at the mo & a bit worried about the fight.

I think im going to get Mum to babysit on Sunday and me & DH will go out for carvery together. I think he misses me from what he was saying in texts this morning - lots of love you's & things.

VictorianSqualor · 14/08/2008 16:18

Argh, fuck shit wank bollocks.
Kids just flooded my bathroom, and DS1 has been sick everywhere. What a lovely day this is turning out to be.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 14/08/2008 16:19

its all great fun, isn't it??

Peachy · 14/08/2008 16:23

I can't even get DH in the bath (I suspect not as bad as your DH but mine also ahs a problem with them from childhood- his brother threw a hammer at him in the bath and nearly killed him. In his home, that was considered acceptable behaviour!).

Just remind him that in 2 months mimi will in all likelihood be craw;linga round after him all day and he'll be hiding behind stairgates begging for a break from the trouser pulling LOL
