I hope she is ok for tomorrow also as we are going to my mum's for dinner. A lovely pleasing roast. The whole family will be there.

My aunt is over from Denmark for a week and she wanted to get a photo of her and DD but DD was so miserable today it didn't happen!!

I can't believe it my mum wanted to get beef for dinner tomorrow. A rack big enough to feed 8 cost £75!!! Needless to say we are having lamb!!

Its a pity about the pants weather as DD loves being in her learn & groove act. station (what a bloody mouthful to type!!) in the garden.

LuckySalem · 09/08/2008 21:05

My time away was lovely thanks Simpson.

We stayed on a stud farm with my uncle. Aaliyah didn't think much of the horses that were right in front of her but the ones down the field got many squeals of delight from her. lol
My uncle has 2 jack russells and she LOVED them to bits so fostering will prove a hit with her.

simpson · 09/08/2008 21:11

LuckySalem - glad you had a good time

Have you heard anymore from the 2nd doggie place?

justkeepswimming · 09/08/2008 21:15

lucky - glad you and dd had a good time

simpson - lol i call ours a magic roundabout

gingeme - in theory up for another meet-up not sure when or where just yet tho!

bit down atm (well ok now as on glass 3 of wine!) esp re lasck of decent sleep.
realised that i haven't had a good nights sleep for over 6 mo. in fact i can't remember when
end of pg not so good sleepwise and not had any really proper nights since ds2 born
had my 7.5 hrs the other night when the monitor broke but the recommended is 8.
aside from charlie & ruby , how are everyone else's LOs sleeping???
who has the worst record for sleep in the last 6mo?
if my best night in approx 9mo is 7.5hrs, what's yours???
go on make me feel better!!

right, off to bed in a mo, rubbish rain here too had a birthday party, but we left early as ds2 was grumpy and tired, and tbh i was feeling pretty antisocial anyway

will come back more upbeat tomorrow i promise!
night all

LuckySalem · 09/08/2008 21:22

Simpson - No not heard yet. I wish I could persuade DP to let us get a dog for keeps but I do agree with his reasons for not (kinda)

JKS - I think my worst night of sleep was after DD had started sleeping through then stopped and I had about 2 hours sleep that night (was horrid)
My best night was actually last night in Newmarket. She slept from 8:30 till 7:30 Just wish I'd followed her lead and slept with her instead of staying up till stupid o'clock talking and drinking beer. lol
My best night that I've actually slept was when DD was at my mums and I slept from 11pm till about 10:30am.

madmouse · 09/08/2008 21:23

So there will be at least four of us then - fab. Will be something to look forward to after my holiday is over.

Ladies travelling from Wales what is a good time to meet up? Bluebell you are Solihull I think, I am Bedworth, so we can be flexible.

Is it Amani or Mixedmama who lives near Brum and would come? Where are either of them anyway!

How do we recognse each other. Lucky I think I recognise you and dd from facebook, Susie your lovely hair will help, Bluebell what is your distictive feature apart from gorgeous lo?

And will try to find out/remember real names

simpson · 09/08/2008 21:25

JKs - enjoy your wine I am just about to pour myself my third glass too

Sorry the sleep is so pants Fingers X tonight is better.

LuckySalem · 09/08/2008 21:29

MM - As long as it's this one
Address
The National SEA LIFE centre, The Waters Edge, Brindleyplace, Birmingham. B1 2HL

I can get there about 11/12ish. Possibly earlier if everyone else wants to be earlier.

LuckySalem · 09/08/2008 21:30

As for recognising - Can we all take something red or something like that?

madmouse · 09/08/2008 21:31

That's the one. a stiff little walk from the station if you are coming by train.

Have lived near and worked in Birmingham for 8 years but have never been there! Have been to a sealife centre in Holand.

Susie what time for you?

simpson · 09/08/2008 21:40

Madmouse - think mixed mama is in Turkey

gingeme · 10/08/2008 11:18

Morning ladies of your meet up. Hope you all have great fun
I'm sitting here typing bleary eyed. I don't go out all year then two nights out in a row. Friday we went to my cousins wedding. I havn't seen him in some years so it was lovely to catch up. Though the brides family didn't exactly put themselves out to talk to us but we had fun all the same. ds3 and 4 had fun running around the dance floor chasing the pretty disco lights
Last night I had a girly night out to our local pub with my neighbour. Had a lovely chat and a laugh.
Still had to wake at 3am and 6.30am to feed a hungry baby though
Tried him with some rice cakes yesterday which he loved and scoffed two. Had tried him before but he just gagged on them Tried him with come berry creal this morning which had bits in and he hated it
Off to Clown Town soon. Looks like rain again so not chancing the park. Wheres the sunshine gone?
Hope you are all well. Sorry for no personals but I'm sure you won't be too offended

LaTrucha · 10/08/2008 13:25

ARe we meeting at the Sealife Centre itself or at train station? I could make train station for around 10.30 but don't know how far Sealife is?

JKS - well, dd went through a phase of 10-7 or 10-5. It's my paradise lost hat I keep in mind when times are tough!

Worst night. Hard to tell. There haveeen so many. Waking every 20 mins? That's happened a lot of times with UTI / Teething. Awful night last night too - especially as I thought we'd craked only 2 -3 wakings a night. Up every two hours and awake solidly 2-4. It xan get depressing sometimes. It's 'JUST' lack of sleep though! I sometimes think as soon as we have Sabela settled, we'll have the next baby. Kind ofjust giving up for the next 5 years.

madmouse · 10/08/2008 14:54

Had a funny night here. Nathan had a lot of food and milk before bed then spent ages clowning around, practising rolling and trying to stand up by hanging off me and kind of kangaroo jumping up and down (cerebral palsy - what me?).

Apart from a quick resettle at 11 he slept 9 til 3 ( how I wish I had been asleep for all that time too). Then fed, in cot 3.30, out 4.15, in 10mins later, out 5.15 to feed again, also out at 5.45 and 6.15, then awake at 7.15.

Susie I think it is 20mins or so brisk walk from the station. I can meet you there if you like. Looks like we can agree Sealife Centre at 11 then . All bring soething red as Lucky said?

There is still space for some more!

LaTrucha · 10/08/2008 16:50

MM - did you mean at the station? That would be FAB!

We had a weird night here too. And, yes. By weird, I mean we didn't get much sleep... Weird would actually be sleep.

LaTrucha · 10/08/2008 17:31

Shall we have a quick poll of our babies' favourite purees?

I'm still on very simple ones. She loves sweet potato and cinnamon; carrot, parsnip and pear and plain apricot. And of course tomatoes, straight up.

Isabellasmam · 10/08/2008 18:43

only Hipp organics, dd wont entertain my cooking at the moment but will be trying her with some cauliflower and broccoli tonight. wish me luck.

simpson · 10/08/2008 19:09

Isabellasmam - my DD is the same only likes hipp organic or ella's kitchen pouches. She much prefers fruit I think and is also partial to fruitapura pots. She does like my pureed carrots though. TBH she hasn't really tried much yet after being so bunged up.

DD just gone to bed. We have had lots of poos over clothes and she seems a happier girl so think the worst has passed I hope so as DH leaves tomorrow to cycle to Holland with my youngest bro and I am left alone for four days till we go in car to join them.

Went to Primark and bought Dcs holiday clothes etc. DD needed new everything!! Ds just needed new jogging bottoms, and t shirts.

Had a great roast dinner at my mothers although things were fraught as my grandmother moaned about EVERYTHING!!

madmouse · 10/08/2008 19:11

Nathan's fave is my apple and prune puree and cottage pie from a hipp jar (I give him all sorts...)Tried Ella pouches but they are so thin and gloopy, nothing to chew on.

Susie, see you 10.30 outside Marks and Spencers simply food at the station exit. I will recognise you and Sabela! Anyone else want to meet there?

simpson · 10/08/2008 19:16

Madmouse - that reminds me your prune/apple thing is a hit here she had that this evening for tea

justkeepswimming · 10/08/2008 20:52

evenin' all

lucky - yes once they have slept through, then don't it's worse i think! ds2 has slept through about ten times on and off so i know he CAN do it. was up at 4 last night for a feed/poo/feed.
don't know where this pooing in the night has come from, he stopped needing nappy change at night months ago

madmouse - pretty sure mixedmama lives in london as she was at the north london meet-up (poss but unlikely to have come from the midlands for lunch...).

simpson - thanks for the fingers crossed - was just the once last night so stronger vibes needed please!
glad dd is moving well
good luck over the next few days, packing and getting ready to go away on your own them. have dh at home a lot atm so really enjoying it. wish he was home all the time...

gingeme - glad you've had a good 2 nights out, tho i agree, one is enough for me. planning on going to the footie on tues so trying to bank sleep before then (want a really early night tonight so best hurry up on here!).
was clown town good? sounds good

thanks LaT - ds2 did sleep 13/13.5 hrs at in-laws last visit (tho of course i hadn't gone to bed early and was soooo uncomfortable boob-wise that i didn't appreciate it!). don't think we've been as bad as every 20mins so thanks for that, lol!
you do know that lack of sleep is a torture method????
and really ds1 sleeps brilliantly from 7ish to at least 5 (got to 6.40 today so think we are over the 5-ungodly-hour-starts. so don't give up for 5 years!!!
ds2 still going with blw so no purees - tho he loves yoghurt which i do spoonfeed - he loves everything we've given him except avocado so far. had pancakes for breakfast, loved them!
loves crackers, toast, carrot, peppers, tomato big time. everything really

does anyone else get this?:
ds2 is brilliant about his morning nap, can put him down after feeding or just without feeding and will nod off without a murmur. but in the afternoon he resists big time.
yesterday and today especially he has cried, screamed, etc. and either slept for a bit or not at all and then gone into a mood where you can't put him down at all without major screams and tears. he crashed out yesterday in the car about 4.30, today i persisted so he had some sleep between 1 and 3.
he used to be the most chilled out baby i've seen.
a new tooth has come through today so maybe that's it?
plus he and i are both suffering with conjunctivitis/sore eyes so that may be it too.

anyway, enough from me, night all

LaTrucha · 10/08/2008 20:55

I fancy the prune/apple thing myself. Was ythere anything else in it?

MM - have to double check my train times! Will get back tomorrow. Fab we can meet and walk.

simpson · 10/08/2008 21:04

LaT - 2 eating apples and 5 prunes in water and simmer for 10mins ish then puree. DD has loved it and its definately helped things along iyswim
