Hurrah! Had an email late last night saying I've been chosen as a product tester, but I won't know what I'm testing until the end of this week or next week. I'm very excited! Anyone else have this?

LittleMissNorty · 25/06/2008 07:58

I have as well Holly and then another one asking me if I also want to test, nappies, wipes, food & drink, feeding products or skincare products

DD back to doctors again today ...I'm dressed for work but don't know whether or not I'm going. She's "under the weather" rather than "ill" but I need to see if she's got an ear infection.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 08:02

I got that one too norty. Did you read it as testing these things AS WELL AS the big things or INSTEAD OF? If is is as well as then I'm off to send another email!!

Hope dd is ok and dr can fix her!

How are you feeling?

LittleMissNorty · 25/06/2008 08:05

I read it as "as well as" so sent an e-mail back.

I'm feeling crap but mainly cos I'm worrying about anything and everything.....need to make my own doctors appointment I think....will get there!

Fridge is lovely! I ordered new fitted wardrobes for my bedrooom last night which are being fitted 4th September and we've got till then to rip out the current ones, completely redecorate the room and re-carpet

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 08:11

Oh norty, being pg is shit sometimes . I wish it was a bit easier for you. Feeling sick and crap really gets to you after a while doesn't it? Hope it gets better and you can start to enjoy it a bit more x

I went through a decorating phase when I was pg with ds. We decorated the whole house in about 2 weeks! I love a fitted wardrobe, unfortunately we can't have them because of the chimney breast and fire place on the only wall where they could go! Bah!

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 09:16

me too

double buggies here we go
I'm intrigued you got an email about testing nappies Norty, as from the last email I had from her I thought I'd been too late for nappies. It's like a raffle isn't it? I hope this doesn't all come out when we're away over the weekend and I miss out on sending something back so get booted off the testing panel!

sorry DD isn't too chipper Norty, or you for that matter. Get thee to the doctor's woman. You don't want this building up to the point that you crash badly...been there done that

Do I go to toddlers today or not? I feel like I'm wading through treacle thanks to another restless night with small children up and down like yo-yos. DS looks like he needs to sleep for a week.

LittleMissNorty · 25/06/2008 09:24

it was for disposables Daisy...didn't put myself down for that one though.

I will go to doctors....but until I know how many weeks I am they probably won't do anything....only 2 more weeks

You should go out Daisy.....it's not until I'm out that I'm glad I made the effort...although I never feel like going...

Oh blimey, crying again....doesn't look like I'll be going to work today.....

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 09:30

It's disposable nappies daisy. This is the second email I got...

Hi All,

Because I?ve put you down to test products which need to be tested in a group. (That is to say, you test the products and then rotate them with your friends who will also test them). I thought you might like to test some products which you do not need to share and so can be used just by yourself. It will mean a bit more commitment and some more tester forms to complete, but if you are up for it, please let me know.

You can either test: (and please state your order of preference if you don?t mind?)

a) Disposable nappies ? please tell me the weight of your child.

b) Baby wipes

c) Skincare products

d) Baby food and drink ? please tell me how old your baby is and what stage baby food they are on

e) Feeding products ? please tell me your babies age and if they are able to hold a beaker independently, using cutlery, or anything else that might be relevant.

Best wishes

Jessica

I haven't bothered replying to this one though as there is nothing in there that I really want to test. We don't use disposables, I have baby wipes aplenty, we don't really use skincare products, ds doesn't eat baby food and I have enough beakers and cutlery to last a lifetime! I think I'll leave it all for someone else who needs it more than me .

I don't think you'll get emailed over the weekend daisy, all the emails we've had so far have been during the week, so she probably gives herself weekends off. Hopefully we'll know before the weekend anyway, fingers crossed!

I had the toddlers dilemma yesterday daisy. I didn't go in the end. I was so knackered that I knew I would just end up getting stroppy with all the noise and chaos and be in a bad mood for the rest of the day!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 09:31

Norty, are you ok?

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 09:36

holly, did you say you were sending back one of the prams you have been testing already? what stingy manufacturer wants it back?

Ditto to all of the above comments holly, including saying No to free stuff!...although we do seem to be stuck in disposables at the minute. I was looking on fuzzibunz's website which claims "say goodbye to daiper rash" Maybe I should e-mail them with photos and see what they say. I'm getting to the point where I feel like selling all my nappies again (well the pink and lilac ones at least )

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 09:47

Chicco wanted theirs back and I've sent it as they contacted me and asked for it back after about 2 weeks. Dorel contacted me yesterday and asked for the Loola back, whoopsy, I've sold it! They left it too long though. It was supposed to be a 3 week test and I've had the bloody things cluttering up my garage for over 6 weeks now. I just assumed it would be ok to keep it as they took so long to contact me. I just won't ring them back and ignore their calls, they'll soon get bored of trying to get it back! M&P sent me some postage labels to send theirs back almost straight away, but I am using that pushchair atm and will wait and see if they contact me again before I send it back!

MacLaren, Concord, Graco, Mothercare and Silver Cross will always let you keep theirs.

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 09:55

Lol at you being a pram criminal. I'd be terrified they'd send the heavies round or worse....the bill

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 09:57

Hope you are alright norty.

I really do need to get off my fat arse and get dressed I spose!

Anyone else have that "Feed a family for a fiver" banner at the side of the screen? FFS, I can feed my family for about £2 and there'll be leftovers!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 10:02

At the end of the day daisy I have signed no contract with them, so they can't send the heavies round (or a bill) as they have no actual evidence that I have the pushchair! I know it's a bit naughty, but I really did think they weren't going to contact me. I was told in the beginning that I would have to store the pushchairs for 3 weeks, not nearly 7, so they are taking the piss a bit by asking for it back. I know I have made rather a lot of money from testing them, but it is a complete PITA having to store 6 big pushchairs and 6 car seats plus a couple of carrycots for so long. I am very nearly sick of the sight of them (but not quite )! What am I going to do when ds is no longer in a pushchair? Cry I think!

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 10:04

have another baby

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 10:08

that's being veggie for you holly.....I bought a single piece of smoked haddock for making kedgeree that will feed three for ta and then DD and I for lunch next day, and the single fillet was nearly £5

Norty, take things easy today love and I hope DD is OK. and ask for help from DH and rellies if you need it and make that appointment . Seriously though, email me if you want to chat

Right am off for a shower and then to toddlers. I will enjoy it, and so will DD. Plus I need to rope in some product testers as well...what a great way to win friends and influence people

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 10:09

No fucking way !

I shall just make all my friends have babies and then buy them nice pushchairs and borrow them!

LittleMissNorty · 25/06/2008 10:26

Hiya - sorry for buggering off....looked at the clock and oh fuck, gonna be late for the doctors....bloody MN

Doctor said her ears have loads of wax in them (and apparently is to do with teething?? new one on me) so can't see any infection, throat a bit sore, and heart beating a bit fast (due to temp) so calpol for next 24 hours and then have got ABs in the fridge if no better by the morning. Doctor was very nice! So, no work for me and no nursery for DD...she's half-heartedly playing in front of Baby TV atm.

I'm ok really.....it just sounds worse on here cos I can say what I like and how I really feel IYKWIM. DH is fab and helps LOADS esp with DD (she's a right daddy's girl), but he cannot get his head around my anxiety and how I can't control it. He just does not understand depression / anxiety at all...which makes me sometimes not tell him whats making me feel like it and that in turn makes me more anxious and trying to hide it.....and so the vicious circle begins. His answer would be "a good seeing to" . Your support and listening is very much appreciated ladies. Thanks x

justRia · 25/06/2008 11:03

hi and bye as DH is been pro-active about the housework (he has just been in bed with baggins for an hour - I've done some work, but he sees MN and gets arsey.)

hugs norty, FB me too if you need a rant. hop e you and DD have a nice loved-up day.

must go. wanker....

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 11:16

arese...got DD all ready to go out, including some lunch for the two of us as I have to go straight to the hospital after toddlers, and I picked her up off the floor and she promptly threw up all over me...weetabix and bananas.....nice

I think her tummy was just full and I squeezed too tight as she seems OK now, but we have knocked toddlers on the head and she is now sleeping.

Norty, hope DD is OK, and not too grumpy. Have a nice duvet day. ikwym about hiding how you are feeling. I'm a terrible one for saying I'm fine, when I'm not really, and although DH has a little understanding as he has suffered from depression in the past, he can't seem to get his head around why I'm depressed at the minute as everything is pretty rosy for us (apart from the worry of the rising cost of living and one wage!!). He doesn't understand the hormonal/chemical side of things at all. He is good at knowing when I'm not great though, but he's had a LOT of practice

Hi Ria....bye Ria

Seansgirlthesequel · 25/06/2008 14:14

Hi all just a quick pop in have not caught up ... just got Long Tall Sally sale leaflet through - immediately though HOLLY!! (or anyone else who is tall like me!)

Anyay saw this nice dress

Right off again to see if any bargains to be had myself....

lackaDAISYcal · 25/06/2008 14:53

not for me SG....their cropped trousers would still be too long on me

DD has fallen in love with a pair of socks. I picked some up for her today and she was holding them round the shop...now she won't let them go and screams if I try and take them.....silly baby

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 15:15

Oooo SG, nice dress! I never think of LTS, but I should really. I spend my life moaning about how t-shirts are never long enough and knee length dresses are a bit on the short side! I have picked out 2 dresses and a skirt from the website...now I just have to hope they haven't sold out before I get some money!!

Hope dd is ok daisy. Any recurrance of sickness? How was the hospital?

Ria, hope dh is being less twuntish.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/06/2008 15:22

Anyone heard from fury lately? She doesn't seem to have been around much and she was pretty down last time she was on.
