sounds absolutely devine Sputnik and theres us slogging away...think we've gone wrong somewhere in this country.

2 1/2 weeks left and then DD off too, am looking foward to it but also a bit as two together all day..... oh help!

I am a semi novice on the ebay Daisy I would say weekend too, however last week I listed a load of stuff that ends today/tomorrow/thursday and I have been surprised they are doing quite well. Even better than my weekend one that was a bundle of dds clothes and I only got the starting price for that, but think you win some loose some IYSWIM. But think Norty and Holly are more ebay masters than me, so I am probably waffling... But also am surprised that am doing very well on some of my old clothes that I bought for weddings etc.. very surprising

how is everyone today?

Seansgirlthesequel · 01/07/2008 11:12

Sweet foxy, how about you?

LittleMissNorty · 01/07/2008 11:28

Daisy - you can schedule your auctions to start whenever you like (at a cost of 6p per auction). Also can choose 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 day auctions.) If you doeload turbolister, its much quicker.

sorry at work, so gotta be quick

Hi everyone

Sputnik · 01/07/2008 11:37

Fine here so far. Luckily I have a fall-back position here as I can send DD to her old nursery for a couple of days a week.

lackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2008 11:53

summer hols sound divine there Sputnik. They are thinking of cutting them here to four weeks in the summer and then two weeks in October and February and at Easter......Hmm...nice! two weeks in rainy cold wet miserable october and february GB....fan-fecking-tastic As it is we only have 5.5 weeks this summer for some reason.

thanks Norty and SG.....I am an ebay selling virgin, although DH has sold loads. I'll do the listings at the weekend when he is here to help.

thanks also to foxy. I've "spoken" to flowerybeanbag and she has confimed that the qualifying period is from weeks 17-25 (not 21-29 as i thought). I will still have been getting some amount of company sick pay during those weeks and work out my average weekly wage to be about £200, so I should still get SMP, and will even get something over and above the basic rate for the first six weeks! yay, more free money that I wasn't accounting for....P&T Vibe here I come

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2008 12:20

Hi all. On my lunch break here, but got to go be creative and make some fabric flowers in a moment, but just wanted to say Hi. I'm getting worried now about my walk on Sunday - that I haven't done enough training and that I'll look ridiculous in my bra

Long hols sound very good Sputnik. I've done projects in collaboration with european partners in the past and I've noticed a tendency for nothing to happen in July & August as they ALL go on holiday.

We're getting a nice stream of loganberries from our loganberry bush in the garden and I see that we have plenty of strawberries which are starting to ripen We have flowers on the tomatos, courgettes and pumpkin plants so fingers crossed. And I am DETERMINED to finally get round to planting radishes, lettuces and "salady" plants this week, so can hopefully get some late summer/autumn crops of those.

lackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2008 12:27

hi jammy...our radishes were only planted six weeks ago, so you shoudl get some crops there.

I'm going to plant some more carrots, radishes and beetroot this weekend I think. We will also be having very late peas as my first lot failed except for one. It's our first year of proper planting, so it's all going in my wee notebook so I'll know better next year. We should get a bumper crop of potatoes though and our tomatoes are doing well. The pumpkins i moved and thought had died have bounced back a bit and even my very poorly courgettes are rallying and we have a tiny courgette on one of them. I need to get them into a growbag though as they are still in pots. I've noticed a very weird thing though. One side of our veg bed is thriving better than the other and I can't figure out why. I planted everything in rows and one end is much bigger and bushier than the other

lackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2008 12:30

and you will not look ridiculous in your bra......everyone else will be the same on the day remember!

and the amount of walking you have done should have been more than enough. You've managed 11.5 miles in training, so another couple on the day should be relatively straightforward. I think with these things, certainly with running, on the actual day you always manage to pull something out of your boots even if you are flagging, as the excitement of the event and all the people doing it as well gets you more pumped up for it. You will be FAB

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2008 12:34

We should get a good potato crop too. DH has two tubs of them and they seem to be growing well. I've got some beetroot to plant this week as well as the lettuce and radishes. DH loves beetroot, and I don't like the root much but I like the leaves as part of a salad. The tomato that I sellotaped back together seems to have recovered by the way

lackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2008 12:35

is your event going to be on the telly anywhere?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2008 12:40

And thanks for the encouragement. I knew I should come here for support

lackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2008 12:47

"Go Jammy, Go Jammy, Go Jammy.....GO!!!!!!"

I'll even get DD involved in her shouts of "GoGoGo". When is kick off on Sunday?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2008 13:03

It's a 10am start, but I have to be there by 9 at the latest, so I think my Dad & I will be leaving home at about 6.30 - 6.45! The fun bit will be that DH will have to up and awake by then to take over childcare duties Then they're coming over in tiem (hopefully) to see me finish and have an afternoon in the park with us.

justRia · 01/07/2008 13:31

LOL at the DH list. My DH stood by the overflowing kitchen bin this morning and asked if I would like it emptying

Jammy, we can have "These boot are made for walking" as the next thread title in your honour

Sorry I disappeared last night too, I fell asleep again with the DCs. I am just so tired atm. I repeated my blood test this morning. (and then walked round the village for an hour - it's VERY hot)

DH has had a phonecall from the hospital this morning and he is having his EUA on SATURDAY!!!!!! No times or imprtant info til the letter comes through - hopefully tomorrow as I will have to organise transport and stuff. Will try to get him to go to MILs on Friday then DF might drive us through to collect him later on Sautuday, assuming it's general anaesthetic and early in the day. I hope he doesn't have to be admitted. Grr, I hate having half the inoformation. AT least he should know what his consultant is planning before his tribunal.

Hi all

I off out for a "pudding night" at a local restaurant. You get a light main and 2 puddings on a theme. Tonight is lemon.

On the subject of DP's mine is pretty brill despite my incessant whining about him. He too never leaves skids or farts. He is very private about that sort of thing and very clean within himself. He never whinges about my lack of housework, and while he is fairly sporadic about it himself when he does do it he is very good at it. My bugs with him are down to lack of a good job and being antisocial - not the worst things in the world. He is very easy to live with. I on the other hand am a horrible harpie to live with!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2008 18:30

Sounds like my kind of meal Bumper

EUA Ria??

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 01/07/2008 19:04

OMFG! I've just gutted my garden! I've stripped out all the massive woody shrubs and ferns from one side of the garden. I'm knackered and scratched to buggery now! Unfortunately I have quite a big garden and I've only done about 1/5 of it !

I've decided to do one half of the garden as a veggie bed and the other as a cut flower bed, so I can have loads of gorgeous flowers in my house and to give as pressies! If I start now it should be ready by next spring!

Good news about the mat leave daisy...hope you get a vibe then I can come and steal it have a go!

Jammy, I'm sure you'll be fine with your walk. Just reading about your training has made me feel knackered! Good luck with it.

Bumper, what a great idea! I hate citrusy puddings, but if they had a chocolate day I would be there with bells on!!

Ria, hope you and dh are ok.

LittleMissNorty · 01/07/2008 19:13

Evening all

Those nice people from Mama and Papa's have been on the phone and are delivering my highchairs on Saturday. I chose a green Nuna.

blimey, its been really bloody hot here today.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 01/07/2008 19:48

Cool norty, the Nuna looks really groovy! Recaro phoned me yesterday to ask if I wanted a boy's or girl's highchair. Can't wait to get it! All the others I can take or leave tbh, big tacky plastic things, but the Recaro is wicked!

It's been hot here too. WHen I was in the garden earlier I gave the hose to the dcs to play with, they got soaking wet and all muddy, but they had fun! There was a little robin following me round the garden as I was digging it up. He was eating all the little bugs I disturbed. He was so close to me at one point he was about an inch from my hand! It was lovely! Even when dd and ds came to have a look he just carried on eating and hopping around!

lackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2008 20:10

Recaro do highchairs?????

My nappies should arrive by Monday at the latest. I spoke to the cottontails lady today who was very helpful and nice. She didn't mention whether I'd be sent any wraps though, so I may have to order a few wraps before I can use them!

Maybe I should ask on the M&B forum?

ria, good news about DHs op. Was a bit confused about the implications of the consultant on the tribunal though! Is he having it done in Leeds? If I can help in anyway...like a bed for you for the night or a lift back home on Sunday if he has to stay in, let me know
