foxythesnowfox · 26/06/2008 16:07

I had beer at lunch time

LittleMissNorty · 26/06/2008 16:08

No e-mails for me yet.....

Know what you mean about the dishwasher Daisy....is DS old enough to be bribed help? I can't wait till DD is

LittleMissNorty · 26/06/2008 16:08

Hi Foxy .....no DCs then?

foxythesnowfox · 26/06/2008 16:14

err, yes.

We had a picnic after nursery pick-up. It was very nice and I feel chilled out. Might have to do it more often!

How is everyone today?

I once saw a property show which suggested installing two dishwashers in your kitchen. One for clean, one for dirty. No more putting dishes away. Can't decide if ingenious or daft!

Well done Izzys DD - almost there

Glad she is OK.

Hope you are OK Daisy.

lackaDAISYcal · 26/06/2008 16:28

you shameless beta mummy foxy

PMSL at the two dishwasher idea.......only problem then is where do you draw the line...and there is only room for so many dishwashers in the kitvhen

DS loves "helping" Norty, but note the deliberate use of inverted commas

DD fine now; I'm much chirpier....lunch out with my lovely daughter and being chatted up by a table of lovely blokes helped lift my mood

that and the thought of free fluff

LittleMissNorty · 26/06/2008 16:32

We are having the messiest mealtime ever here.

Spaghetti hoops and quiche - eaten with your fingers, and when you've had enough, you turn the plate upside down, slap your hands in the food, clap and laugh, repeat, chuck it all over the floor for a waiting dog and cat

lackaDAISYcal · 26/06/2008 16:37

aaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh she is driving me nuts. How can i stop DD grating her teeth together? It is a real spine tingling (and not in a nice way) noise.

I am about to take a photo of the carnage she has caused in my living room...in the space of 20 minutes!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 26/06/2008 17:08

No email for me yet either daisy. If I get one tomorrow or over the weekend I'll text you and let you know.

I have just had to chuck my dd off the computer. She has been watching the series of Charlie and Lola that I dodgily downloaded for her all afternoon! I am clearly a beta mum too !

I have almost pornographic thoughts about dishwashers! If there was Johnny Depp naked with a "come hither" look in his eyes or a dishwasher then I'd choose the dishwasher every time!! I fucking hate washing up!

lackaDAISYcal · 26/06/2008 18:18

bugger bet I've just got the little stuff and you guys will have farking double buggies big stuff to test

lackaDAISYcal · 26/06/2008 18:23

pmsl at the thought of you climbing over a naked JD to get to a dishwasher

invho, i think that dishwashers, and possibly even JD himself , are a bit over-rated. my glasses always come out streaky and things need to go through twice sometimes. It does a lovely job of keeping tea stains out of your mugs though.

actually, talking of JD, I've just finished the follow up to Chocolat and couldn't stop thinking of JD as Roux every time the character was mentioned in the book!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 26/06/2008 18:31

I hope we both get double buggies. If I do and you don't I shall feel guilty! I think the nappies were a sort of add on test though and hopefully you'll get something big too.

Ds is asleep again! I really didn't want him to go to sleep yet as he will probably do his usual trick of waking up just before bedtime and be on full destruction mode! It's quite nice though coz we are lying on the sofa and I am watching tennis...hurrah for BlackBerrys!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/06/2008 18:46

Evening. Jamlet just gone to bed. For the first time I didn't sit and wait 10 mins for her to be asleep before leaving, but have come downstairs to see how she does. Intermittent crying atm, but she is very tired, so I hope it won't last too long.

I don't think I've been picked for any testing

Another crazy day regarding nursery drop off and pick up. DH working late again so we had to go through the same pilaver as yesterday. Hopefully it'll all get sorted tonight, don't fancy doing it again tomorrow.

Bumperlicious · 26/06/2008 19:15

Evening all

Just popping in quickly as trying not to spend too much time on the 'puter.

Daisy, hope your EEG goes ok. If you do have a thyroid problem there can be loads of symptoms.

DD hasn't got upper teeth yet but they are just coming through and teeth grinding literally makes me want to throw up so I would be interested in any tips too.

Jammy you are very good to sit with DD till she's asleep. DD just gets left to whinge

Meet up date?! Did we agree on the 21st?

Izzy hope DD is ok.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 26/06/2008 19:43

I haven't got double pushchairs daisy, I hope that you have. I have been picked to do highchairs and so has norty! Hurrah for us! I am quite excited to be doing something else other than pushchairs actually! It'll make a nice change. The only reason I put my name down for highchairs was just in case they sent out one of these! I have been after one for months, but obv is far too expensive!

I've got my fingers crossed for you daisy and anyone else who put their name down.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/06/2008 19:52

Hi Bumper, how are you finding a full week at work? I'm worn out!

I had to go up to the jamlet in the end and sit with her for a bit as she was getting quite upset. But she's settled now, hopefully for the night. DH says he'll be home about 9 and will bring pizza with him, so I have just had a snack to keep me going until then. It will unfortunately be supermarket pizza so we'll have to wait 15 mins for it to be ready, but hey I don't have to cook!

Aug 21st sounds good to me btw. And I don't even need to take time off work (Though I would have done, of course, for you guys)

lackaDAISYcal · 26/06/2008 19:54

no email about pushchairs as yet

reusable nappies were on the original list...first email I got was about them, but I was convinced I hadn't responded quickly enough.

god what a bloody day. It's like fecking groundhog day here, except it's a 20 minute cycle instead of 24 hours......

since school hometime.....start to tidy the kitchen, close spice drawer, put DD n the middle of the floor, and back to tidying. take spices from DD, close spice drawer, tell the laughing baby NO. put two plates in the dishwasher, take cereal box from Dd and put it back in the recycling bin. Tell DD BAD BABY. put half a doozen bits of cutlery in the dishwasher, remove DDs hands from the kitchen bin, wash DDs hands. put two more items in dishwasher, take spices from DD, shout NO and remove baby from kitchen. comfort crying baby. get 5 mins tidying done, go to living room to check on DCs, take nappy bags from DD and close baby box, pick bits of cotton wool off the floor, sofa, DD, cat. take knitting needle from DD (where the hell she found it I just don't know!!!). shout at DS for climbing all over the furniture again. back to tidy kitchen taking Dd with me as it;s safer. Close spice drawer after taking tetowels out of spice drawer and putting them back in teatowel drawer, remove cat food from DDs mouth and lift water bowl higher before she gets it. take empty coke tin and milk carton from DD and out back in recycling bin........sit at kitchen table and cry. Repeat on a 20 minute cycle for three hours. Hide sharp knives from self...aaaaaaaaarrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/06/2008 20:09

Hello!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/06/2008 20:18

Hi Fury, long time no "see"

HellHathNoFury · 26/06/2008 20:20

I have been busy... and taking some 'me' time following a visit to the GP!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 26/06/2008 20:21

Hey fury, you lovely lady! Hope you are well x

MHC, my dd used to have eczema, but it's really cleared up now. She used to have it on the backs of her legs and sometimes on her tummy and face. I had all sorts of creams from the dr to try and get rid of it, but none of them worked that well. The next step was steroid creams and I didn't want to go down that road as it didn't seem to bother her that much. It was red and inflamed, but didn't seem that itchy. Thankfully she hasn't had any patches for about 6 months or so, so hopefully it was just a baby thing.

Daisy, you have my sympathy. Ds is a whirlwind and he just trashes my house about 5 times a day. Dd isn't much better. I tidied her room yesterday, within half an hour she came downstairs and told me that she had made her room messy again! I asked her why and she told me she likes it messy! At that point I gave up caring!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/06/2008 20:24

And how are you feeling now?

HellHathNoFury · 26/06/2008 20:24

MHC, DS had eczema and I changed his baby bath and shampoo and it cleared up within a week. It's called 'Halo and Horns' or something, it's not expensive.

LittleMissNorty · 26/06/2008 20:26

Evening all

got highchairs to test....have to say that one you linked to is horrible Holly ....think I'm more a traditional type (we have a wooden Winnie the pooh one) so my reviews will be interesting! £240 for a highchair is a bloody lot of money!

Daisy {{{hugs}}} for you....I didn't know whether to laugh or cry reading that....
