It will look very cute AM. It will probably just take ages, because they'll get a piece ready to cut and then she'll move
Thinking of you today Lupins.
LG&T - That is ALWAYS happening to me. I make a lovely friend and then they bugger off on me.
How was the Christening, PJ?
I'm shattered. I think I may have overdone it yesterday. I cleared about 6 bin bags of rubbish from the cellar, re-arranged the remaining stuff and cleaned it. Shame nobody but me goes down there to see it. DH "didn't realise" what I was up to until I was almost finished and said I shouldn't have been lifting heavy stuff. Errrr.... Don't know what he thought I was doing down there for 4 hours. Anyway, he loaded up the car for the dump and helped with that. And we bought a fold-y up ladder for £65 with which we can access the loft. Slightly cheaper than the £1300 built-in option. There's a cubby on the top landing where we can store the ladder so it's really no different to a "proper" loft ladder. I'm going to get stuff ready to go up in the loft this week and DH will heft it up there for me. Even I'm not that brave at 35 weeks pregnant. Next Sunday I'm 30, so whilst I can't be arsed "celebrating", I don't plan on doing housework either and then the Sunday after that I'll be 37 weeks, so the "birthing room" has to be ready for action, hence the sudden push to sort the house. Blimey.
My downstairs toilet still isn't fixed? Leak in soil pipe temporarily fixed, but because the toilet was "built in" as I mentioned before, they can't connect the toilet to the outlet. The plumber brought a mate round on Friday evening and after three hours of farting around, they were stumped. Whole cistern hidey whole malarky has to be demolished to connect the toilet back up. I swear, the thing is bomb-proof. It would be the only part of our house left standing if there was an earthquake. Told DH we should just buy a cheap "normal" toilet and decorate around it instead of trying to re-build the box around the old toilet and then have to demolish it again if something else goes wrong. Can you imagine? Argh.
Waffle, waffle...
Giving A a short morning nap didn't work. She still couldn't sleep in the afternoon. Bugger. Would have been very handy to still have her on two two-hour naps when the baby arrived. Oh well. Keeping her up as long as possible this morning and going to try for one long lunchtime sleep. She doesn't seem too deranged yet.
Now where is my midwife? She was supposed to be here around 9. I wonder is she at a birth and can't phone? We were talking about kids sleeping in bed with their mothers last time I saw her and she mentioned that her son slept in her bed every night until recently. He's 12. I hope my face didn't register the gasp I had to hold in. Is it just me or does that strike anyone else as slightly odd? I can only presume that she's single...
