Ha ha, I tell you it was hard work eating a pork chop with a knife and fork quietly last night.

Jam - I'll hold you to that, honestly I will, the Wirral is only 30 mins through the tunnel from me...

twelveyeargap · 20/06/2008 16:20

Jam - Forgot to reply about that buggy. It says it will fit through a standard door, but that really means a standard house front door. At 75cm, you'll find that you won't be able to fit it in lots of shop doors. Fine if you're shopping in a shopping centre or something, but for example, in my village, all the shops are quite old and people with double buggies can't get into them. My Mountain Buggy single was 27" or 68.5cm and I had just about fit through the local shop doors with some wiggling about.

If you don't tend to walk around shops, or your local village is quiet and you'd be happy to leave the babies outside whilst you go in, then that's fine. If the width is ok, then you could also look at the First Wheels City Twin as it has nice reversible seats.

Pinkjenny · 20/06/2008 16:21

Oh I like that one Jam - the one TYG just posted.

Madamejaffa · 20/06/2008 16:26

Mine is much the same,

Pinkjenny · 20/06/2008 16:27

Hometime for me now. Have made chicken cacha-somethingorother in the slow cooker. Should be sloppy enough for me to eat in bed.

Love to you all, my lifeline. WHERE is SOH??

Madamejaffa · 20/06/2008 16:28

OMG, I'm not on the ball this avo, 5 posts behind as usual. you are moving today!!

SKYTVADDICT · 20/06/2008 16:38

Update on bunny - he was in the garden but barely breathing or moving - my dad has put him in his hutch. If he makes the night it is the vet for us tomorrow. Would go tonight but going out - [bad pet owner emoticon!]

So tomottow could be Vet as well as picking up new car, DD2s birthday party and DD1 going to a party/sleepover - I thought weekends were for relaxing!!

Just leaving work now - hope you all have a lovely weekend

Madamejaffa · 20/06/2008 16:41

If anyone is strapped for cash and interested in my double buggy 1 infront of tother) it's hardly used, and I would happily bring it over in August when we come. It's no where near as posh as those linked and but it did the trick for us, I'd like about £50 quid for it, has a rain cover and cosy toes.

Just thought I'd mention it

Themasterandmargaritas · 20/06/2008 16:44

Not as far behind as me MrsNonSmokerForAWeekNow. When I come on everyone disappears back to real life.

Pink, our bedtime routine is the same as the others. All 3 follow this. I wouldn't worry too much about what to do in the night when/if she wakes/daytime naps, just start with going to bed without you lying beside her. She needs to learn to fall asleep by herself without you there and once she has done it once, all the rest, settling at night and napping during the day when you are around will follow. One small change to your routine may change everything and there may be no need to follow any other 'getting baby to sleep' method. One step at a time. Fwiw I would also advise your mum to come a little earlier, company for L when she eats her tea perhaps or doing bathtime?

Lups ! I think its good you have the weekend to yourself to think through what you may want to say at GPs. Could the receptionist keep dd in the waiting room with a couple of good books?

JamInMyWellies · 20/06/2008 17:44

TYG thanks I do really like it but when out today there was a P&T vibe in the shop so I had a little go I think thats what we are going to go for more practical easier for getting around lots of narrow country lanes and we would not get out teh back gate to get into the village with the side by side.

Hi all.
Lups - soory you're in such a hard situation. Sending big ((hugs)).
Sky - poor bunny, sorry!
PJ - good luck with the CC. Sending you lots of strength.
R's bedtime routine is similar to lots of the others. Tea about 5pm, play, bath about 6.15-6.30, pjs. bottle in bedroom with the lights dimmed and then straight in bed. Very rarely hear a peep from her, only if sh'e lost teddy or dummy.
Had some great news today. My bf who I was waiting for to deliver had finally given birth! She had a little boy Freddie David at 2am this morning by emergency cs. I think it was all fairly traumatic and he's a bit cold so under the heat lamp but apart from that all is well. I am so happy for them, he's been wanted for so long. When I got the text from her dh I went all goosebumpy!

Lupins71 · 21/06/2008 08:44

SKY hows the bunny?

PJ hope the chickenwhateveritwas didnt slop all over the duvet

I have been thinking about how I ave been feeling this last week and it all makes sense, queasy, odd almost periody but not the same niggles down below, headaches, constapated (sorry tmi) I get queasy and headaches from day 1 of pg, o and I've been knackered altho i'm always knackered but in a differant way, tried to ease up on the painkillers yesterday, funnily enough the gp just prescribed me a bottle of morphine liquid but i dont suppose that will be getting much use, I managed 4 dihydrocodiene yesterday which i was very pleased with normally its 8 plus sometimes some other bits thrown in, oooo I feel queasy already and its not even 9am, went to bed at 8pm last night and slept right through, I hope I have enough energy to fool dp when he gets home - he has been talking of nookie on the phone ha! bloody nookie indeed, will have to be at 7pm excatly so i can be in bed by 8 lol!

Have a great day all, I have to clear up after our baking yesterday, couldnt face it last night, probably ave flour and icing sugar stuck to everythhing

MKG · 21/06/2008 17:19

Ladies I cracked the cup thing with Cruz. I simply put his juice in a cup put it in front of him and walked away. I left him alone and watched him from the top of the stairs. That little rascal picked it up and started sucking from it right away. While if I were in the room he would have thrown in to side and cried. From now on I'm playing hardball.

AprilMeadow · 21/06/2008 18:27

Well done MKG! I bought the dc's one of these each They seem to like them!

Been up since 5.30am with ds not happy about it and am starting to flag

Sky, how is bunny?

twelveyeargap · 21/06/2008 18:35

Lupins, you poor thing.

MKG - A was having "anything but milk" in a cup. I started giving her milk in a cup with meals (rather than water) the other day and that seems to be working ok. Milk as a "meal" in itself iyswim, is not. That still has to be in a bottle. I don't really mind, I suppose. I reckon she'll get more and more used to the milk in the cup and we can work from there. She has water or squash with a straw during the day.

DH is annoying me just by being today. He was out last night. Heard him sneak off to the spare room at 6.30am, just as A was waking. Had the bloody cheek to twice say today, "you should have your feet up" and then fall asleep on the sofa himself - having not actually got up til 2pm anyway. He gave A her tea and then left all the detritus for me to clear up. FFS. Was hoping to go to the Everyman cinema next week to see SATC as you can get really nice food and drink there, but am considering just buggering off to the local flicks on my own tonight to get away from the house.

I think A's naps need rescheduling. She hasn't been able to get off to sleep in the afternoons for the last few days. I think her morning nap is too long now at around 2 hours, sometimes longer. I'm going to try waking her tomorrow after an hour in the morning and see if that helps. She was dog tired by 4pm this afternoon without the afternoon nap. She was in the bath at 5.15 and asleep by 6. I've just been reading that between 13 and 15 months, lots of babies drop their morning naps (and almost all drop it by 18 months). It says some babies sleep longer and longer in the mornings and need to have their morning nap shortened until they stop needing it, to preserve the lunchtime nap. Otherwise, as with A for the last few days, they're mad with fatigue in the afternoon.

AprilMeadow · 21/06/2008 19:16

at your dh TYG! Makes sure he gets up with A tomorrow and you have a nice long lie in.

Ella normally sleeps for between 30mins and 1.5 hrs per day total. Some days she wont sleep at all, depends on what we are doing. She used to go down mid morning for a nice long nap but that seems to be becoming less and less although she will sleep in the car so thats always a back up plan.

MKG · 21/06/2008 19:35

I'm about to make you all jealous. Cruz sleeps 12 hours a night and takes 2 two-hour naps in the daytime.

Lupins71 · 21/06/2008 19:58

TYG grrrrr at your dh - men are numptys!! A as 12 hours at nigh 7-7 then goes down at 10.30-11 and is down for 2-3 hours any less then he is a grumpy bugger by 3pm - but being a heartless mummy there is no way I allow him to go to bed more than half hour early oterwise the whole routine is blown - as it is toooo precious to loose - having not had one with dd
Take yourself for a lovely soak in the tub with a huge do not disturb sign on!

Have felt ok about everything today, not been quite as queasy and altho I cant be arsed to do anything I am still not in bed lol! Altho it might not be long

TillyScoutsmum · 21/06/2008 20:19

Hi all - TYG - grrrr at your dh - arse

We dropped Til down to one a day a few weeks ago and its helped massively with her night time sleep as well. She now goes down for a nap around midday-1pm (depending on what time she wakes) and sleeps for 2 and half hours and that keeps her going until bath time. It took a week or so to get bedtime back up to 7.30 ish but she's ok now

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/06/2008 20:40

Oooo TYG, pop yourself out to SATC, why not? Make dh get up tomorrow and just refuse to get out of bed....all day

J has only been having one nap in the day for the last 3 months. He's up at 6.30 and he goes down at 11 ish til 2, then he can keep going til 7. More often than not he can keep going til 12.30 then he will do a good 3 hours.

How is the bunny SKY did he make it???

LG&T is N home today?

TillyScoutsmum · 21/06/2008 20:41

I think he is - I suspect she might be busy welcoming home

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/06/2008 20:45

Or throwing up all over him

TillyScoutsmum · 21/06/2008 20:46

oooh kinky

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/06/2008 20:48
