Oh Scoot sure she will grow out of it too, they can be a pain. It does bring you down. Just be consistent and it will pass. Work sounds like a bloody nightmare. Now i don't mean to scare you but for the last few weeks i have had an inkling you may be pregnant...

Lups how are you feeling? Camping not far from home sounds sensible to me, of course i would go home to sleep and leave dp with the children

April how goes it in the m,ansion? I must come for a visit when you are settled.

Jam hooray on the vibe! How much did you get it for? I do like them, much lighter than the sport i thought.

Meggle i bought LOTS! Cod is a fantastic shopper, she watched Beau while i tried things on and was great at scooping bundles off the shelf and seizing bargains. We had a leisurely lunch in John Lewis and more shopping! B loved her. We bonded over flip flops

Meggle you must come to the next meet, will get on and plan that.

Am off to sign all the forms at Jonahs new school! Hooray.

JamInMyWellies · 22/07/2008 12:49

G&T I like the idea of camping but leaving kids there and going to home to bed.

We got the P&T, dbl kit, dbl raincover, inner tubes magic slime (no idea what that is) all for £446! I think there might be a coccon aswell.

Lups how are you feeling when do you go back to see Docs?

I cant believe you went shopping with the infamous Cod I thought she was some sort of folklore heroine.

Scoot my lovely I dont really know what to suggest what about dont say no you might completely flummox her for a week or so and she might magically just do what you want send her to me and I will go all nanny like on her I used to be quite feared in my nannying days now A just walks all over me.

Lupins71 · 22/07/2008 13:07

JAM slime is stuff that goes over te inner tubes and make them puncture resistent - that is a very good buy

LGT I actually love camping, dp is the one who doesnt like it and he therefor wont be coming

I am feeling fine, am just starting to get pain down below and wiped earlier (sorry tmi) and it was a differant colour so guessing things are now happening - bloody super my dad arrives tomorrow, altho maybe that a good thing at least if it gets too much and I opt for the non natural approach then he will be able to whizz me off to te hospital, I have plenty of painkillers here tho so will just see how it goes

DD has her 1st wobbly tooth and is distraught, you would think no one has lost a tooth before

scootermum · 22/07/2008 13:09

When can I drop her off?!

We still have our tent, unused..think it will be next year now before we chance to use it what wtih DH's college and whatnot.

We stayed in a luxury caravan park/cottagy place near Tavvy last year Lups--what was your one called? (s'wen I ended up in Derriford all week after having a huge heamorrage-not my best ever holiday-and yet still likely to be better than next weeks trip with DH's family )

Quite of the shopping gandt..cod always says things I agree with on the style threads..

Pregnant? It would be a very slim chance..slim to nothing, between the arguments about the holiday and everything else . But I'll let you know in a week or so

I have been sitting in the garden with my cereal on my lunch break (trying to lose weight before the nice holiday and failing), and its ruddy roasting.Have burnt my arms in half an hour!

Lupins71 · 22/07/2008 13:56

Camp place is called woodovis, we could have a may07 mumsnet camp meet up that would be a giggle - those that need a bit more comfort can crash at mine

DS is asleep, dd nodding in front of night garden - I am willing her to sleep lol

Pinkjenny · 22/07/2008 14:33

Hi all.

We're back and we're fine. On reflection, I may have been behaving in a slightly melodramatic fashion that day.

I did find it v.stressful though, esp as L went to A & E (this bloody child!) the day before as she was grunting. She had a chest xray and all kinds. And they diagnosed a cold. They said she was grunting as her throat was sore and she didn't know how to clear it. And that was v.stressful too.

Oh lord, there's no chance of me catching up.

scootermum · 22/07/2008 15:04

Not the same one thenm.bet there are tons round you.Loving the May campout idea though.largegandt to do the catering!
It would be like the Famous 5 except there would be considerably more of us, and wine and gin, and probably pirate porn into the bargain..

Hey PJ-Was wondering when you were back..Glad you made it through in one piece. How is the cold now?Was there any good point to the holiday?(Please say there were as I am going on the holiday from hell next week-and I need something to pin my hopes on)

Scroll up as AM did a very good round p about 4 pages ago now, which will catch you up nicely!

Pinkjenny · 22/07/2008 15:07

I am also feeling the May Camping idea.

Scoot - once I calmed down it was fine . Once L acclimatised, she got into a little routine of her own, and things were much easier from then on in. I found the most difficult time was evening, when we had come in from the pool and were all trying to get ready for dinner, a sleep would be good then, however I do not have the most cooperative child in this area, as you know.

Her cold is fine. Remarkably she had a runny nose for much of the holiday, which seemed to disappear when we got home!

Pinkjenny · 22/07/2008 15:08

AM - I need your address, I have the piccies of L in her Minnie dress to send you.

scootermum · 22/07/2008 15:14

Tis a sad thing though-that a holiday with a baby is not quite like a holiday in the truest sense of the word..its more like shifting the work half way around the world and doubling it in terms of having to fuss about sun protection/clean water/crawling into swimming pools/eating sand, ad finitum..

None of the old down 12 shots and a bottle of wine, collapse on the beach, sleep it off the next day type shenanigans of old that one would like from a holiday (obviously I have enjoyed some extremely classy holidays in the past )Or even just a bit of uninterrupted sight seeing would do me..
I wonder...at what age do those holiday kids clubs accept children?Older than one you say?oh..

Pinkjenny · 22/07/2008 15:16

Oh scoot - that's exactly what it was like. But throw in a mini-disco every night with the Hokey Kokey and copious amounts of wine.

Guess who I'm going to see in December? Barry! Yes, that's right, I'm a Fanilow!!!!

scootermum · 22/07/2008 15:42

oh dear god.

Pinkjenny · 22/07/2008 15:44

SOH will be so proud.

largeginandtonic · 22/07/2008 16:10

Nice to see you cheery my lovely. Agree with Scoot though re holidays and work transference.

I bloody HATE camping, i will stay at Lups house and cook, you lot can have the children (all the children, there will only be 7) ideal. I have a large tent

Bargainous Vibe Jam, bet you cant wait for it to arrive.

largeginandtonic · 22/07/2008 16:11

We need a new thread. Wish TYG would pop that boy out, we could dedicate it to him. Come on push TYG

Or maybe we should just call it that?

AprilMeadow · 22/07/2008 16:20

Welcome home Pink - will email you my new address.

Scoot, not really sure what to say on the whole L behaviour front as J isnt the most well behaved child in the world. I hope you are able to find something that works for you fairly soonish

Had a text from TMAM this morning whilst on my hands and knees scrubbing the bathrooms at the old house. She sounds like she is having a fun time with the dc's on her own waiting for dh to arrive

Lupins71 · 22/07/2008 18:47

Ok all run some dates past me and I will see what is available, my house is as I said walking distance - so hot baths and camping and LGT cooking (just as well we have a cooker now) the pub is also next door to my house

My house is nearly spotless, just the beds to make up and the living room to do, I am not touching the study come eating come mumsnet room would take me a month on its own, but next time I have a crazy idea like blitzing the house pls someone tell me I am mad

PJ glad to have you back

Maybe we could just call the new thread something like - cmon boy'o outcha come!

MKG · 22/07/2008 19:23

Hi all.

We could call the new one . . . "Here we go again"

AprilMeadow · 22/07/2008 19:44

How about.... May 07 - the one where they have little brothers or sisters

Off out to the cinema with my friend to watch Mamma Mia. Have a good night and COME ON BABY TYG VENTURE OUT INTO THE BIG WIDE WORLD

AbbyLou · 22/07/2008 20:38

Pj, nice to hear from you. Glad you managed to enjoy the holiday in the end. Can I give you nightmares and tell you we're off to Center Parcs in 3 weeks time!!!
Scoot, no advice on behaviour here either. I spend all day disciplining other people's children but sometimes feel like I'm fighting a losing battle with my own. C is a good boy most of the time but when he goes, he really, really goes!!
R is a bit poorly today. I've always had nothing but praise for my drs but today they really peed me off and I feel, let R down. I sent her off to the cm this morning with a slight pinprick rash. I though nothing of it and she wasn't bothered either as R had her mmr 12 days ago and I was told she could get a pin prick rash 10-14 days after it. She was fine in herself. She went for a sleep at 10.30 and when she woke up the cm found that she was very, very hot and absolutely covered in much bigger, darker red blotches. Cm was worried and phoned dh who went to pick her up and took her striaght into the drs. The Receptionist took one look at her and rang through to the emergency dr to come and have a look at her. She said there was a baby covered in red blotches with a very high temperature. Do you know what she said? She was too busy to see her and dh could have an appointment for 5.40 tonight!! The receptionist was apparently very shocked and apologetic but there was nothing she could do. Dh just left, if it had been me I think I would have turned the waterworks on and refused to move until she was seen! He decided to take her into Nottingham to the walk-in centre to be checked. They saw her straight away. As it turns out they think it is just a viral rash but we were very worried for a bit. I know it was nothing serious in the end but that's not the point. I can't believe the dr refused to see her, I am so angry. What if it had been meningitis which is obviously what was going round in our heads? The Nurse at the walk-in gave dh a big bottle each of Calpol and Nurofen which saved us a bit and told us to alternate them every 2 hours. Her temperature has come down nicely now and she is fast asleep.

LookattheLottie · 22/07/2008 21:05

Oh dear lord, bathtime is really starting to become a battle of wills. I fear C may win........

Off to dry self!

AprilMeadow · 22/07/2008 23:30

Mamma Mia was fantastic! Couldnt help but laugh when Pierce Brosnan started singing. Well worth a watch if you can get out

SKYTVADDICT · 23/07/2008 06:52

Hello everyone and welcome home PJ. I have been lurking again so know most of the news but can't remember what to post about it!

That must have been a nightmare AL. I am shocked at the Drs attitude. C also had his MMR 12 days ago and I keep looking for this pin prick rash - nothing yet.

No baby here yet - only a week and a half to go. Going to have a very warm couple of days according to the weather forecast. Like it being warm BUT not at 37

  • weeks pregnant with a 14 month old who just wants to be outside all the time. He bring us our shoes, his shoes and points outside. He doesn't seem to say any words now just points and people do what he wants. I had heard about this phenemenon (sp!) where they don't need to talk as all their need are met from pointing! It seems to be happening here. He understands virtually everything you tell him though.

He has no clue at all what is about to hit him in the way of a baby brother or sister. Everthing is ready, he keeps looking in the moses basket and I have tried to tell him the baby in mummys tummy will be sleeping in it, he rubs my tummy but really doesn't have a clue .

DD1 finishes school today and DD2 tomorrow -they then go to their Dad for 5 days. DD1 has no clothes yet again so baby can't come until after I take her shopping tomorrow.

largeginandtonic · 23/07/2008 08:15

Abby i am disgusted at the doctor! I would put in a formal complaint. Appaling behaviour, very glad she is ok and it is nothing serious.

Sky you must be getting fed up too, come out little babies!!!

I am starting the thread, will link in a mo. No moaning about the title, i may ignore all of you
