Oh MKG about Buddy! Pointers are lovely dogs too, we have two on our street and they're so lively and friendly! I can only echo what everyone else has said, you did the best thing for him. x

Scoot glad to hear your staff member was ok in the end, it's good that she's got somebody understanding watching over her.

CM your kids are mighty cute! The house looks great too.

AM I don't envy your move lol, I hate moving!

LG&T did Phin get to her appt?

Jam, agree think it was a bit rude of your friends not to rsvp earlier. Don't worry about cooking - can you not just get lots of take away menu's in and tell everyone to choose what they want? Get a kitty going so that you don't get lumbered with the cost of it all, everybody gets to eat what they want, you don't have to worry about cooking and just load the plates in the dishwasher when you're done. If they question it just say you had no time to prepare dinner as they gave such little notice.

Am having an awful day. Charlotte's driving me mad. We're all ill, I've lost my voice and my throat is killing me. I'm tired of saying 'NO Charlotte' a gazillion times a day. I had hung out all the washing and it dried, but pissed down whilst I was busy for 5 minuites doing something else. Got no sleep last night as when I went into check on C last night, I could smell sick. Poor thing had thrown up everywhere and was fast asleep, lying in it. She must have had another coughing fit and been sick. Had to get her up and in the bath (1AM) and give her a bottle of juice, get her settled and I think she finally drifted off with me in my bed at 4 this morning. I didn't get a wink of sleep because the child likes to jag every one of her limbs into me repeatedly, and wiggle them about for extra comfort!

And to top it all off she fell over earlier and smashed her top teeth into her lips, bottom lip bust open, blood everywhere, oh the tears, oh the joy, beam me up scottie!

All I want to do is go to bed but nobody to watch C for me! It's taking ages for me to get better as I'm not resting, or carrying out any other normal human function like eating, I'm so busy with C I've got no time for me. Mum getting home tonight, can't wait, she gets the baby!

MKG · 17/07/2008 16:39

Well Cruz is a funny boy. He's decided that he doesn't want to hold hands to walk. He would rather hold on to my jeans and walk with me. My children are weird.

fourlittlefeet · 17/07/2008 18:14

Hello all. My you do have busy lives! Keeping up with two threads is a full time job!

Lups, hope everything works out ok for you, fingers crossed here for you.

MKG sorry about Buddy.

Themasterandmargaritas · 17/07/2008 20:17

Wahay April. Now its real! Glad Ella liked her dolly.

Wow Charley look at your house, I am . The dc's look very cute too.

Scoot, good old dh for realising what an idiot he has been.

Poor Charlotte, I hope she and you are both soon better.

We are all packed and ready to go, off to the seaside, in the morning. Have a good couple of weeks and I expect a full debrief of TYG's full moon hypnobirthing tribal chanting delivery via SMS from April or MrsJB purlllleeeassse.

TYG, good luck to you. I will drink a Guinness or two in yours and the wee man's honour. Thinking of you. xxx

Lupins71 · 17/07/2008 20:21

TMAM have a great break, I am very , hope you get a nice relax

AM well done on getting moved, there will be a little something coming your way in the next few days

LGT is everything ok?

twelveyeargap · 17/07/2008 20:53

DO NOT DRINK AFRICAN GUINNESS! (Not unless you've had it before and liked it, that is.) I used to work for Guinness and I was told the stuff sent to Nigeria (for bottling/ barrelling and resale to the rest of Africa) is different. Apparently when it was first sent out for a trial run to see if it would sell, the ship got stuck off the coast (sound familiar?) and went a bit rancid in the wooden barrels they used to use. However, nobody realised until after the Nigerians had already tried it an loved it. So I was told that Nigerian/ African Guinness tastes bloody awful to the rest of us. I suppose if you have imported cans from Europe then that's different.
Thanks for the tribal dancing.

I think the birth pool has a slow puncture. Looks like you'll definitely be using SOH's one, LG&T. I inflated it this morning and now it's ever so slightly deflated. Not so much that I can't use it for the birth, but enough that I couldn't pass it on to anyone else and will need to keep the air pump handy when I'm in it. Bugger it anyway.

I looked so fed up this morning that DH actually said, "You should go to the shops or something. Get out of the house." He NEVER suggests I go shopping for fear I might spend way too much. Off I trotted to Brent Cross forgetting (a) the sales were on. I HATE sales and (b) half the schools are on strike so it was RAMMED. I ended up taking refuge from the hoards in John Lewis and got suckered into buying a really sweet (but stupidly expensive) knitted leggings and cardigan suit for the boy. Really soft baby wool in pale blue and white stripes. Unusual to find knitted baby things these days. Also some random unnecessary baby toys and a newborn outfit that will fit for about five minutes, if at all, depending on what ludicrous size he comes out. However, A did fall asleep for an hour so I got coffee and cake and read a magazine, which was lovely. Wouldn't have done that at home (the sitting down that is - I would have managed the cake!)

Went round to a friend this afternoon so Aoife could play with her son. They played really nicely, it was very sweet. Unfortunately A decided to throw herself upon me just as I was lifting a glass of Coke to my mouth and it went all over me and in her eyes. The poor thing. I bet Coke really stings! I'm thinking of getting her a little buggy and a "baby" to play with when the boy arrives. She loves pushing her own buggy around, which isn't great news for the living room walls. DH will go mad. He has a pathological hatred of dolls. "Weird little people effigies" he calls them...

C'mon the full moon tomorrow morning. Get this baby out! >

How are you feeling SKY?

SKYTVADDICT · 17/07/2008 21:35

I'm fine thanks TYG. Been keeping up and should post more often.

Sorry to hear about your probs Lupins. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Also sorry to hear about Buddy MKG.

I thought I had SPD on Monday (never had before) but it seems to have eased.

DD1 and I had hair cut tonight, bag all packed so the baby can come now (will be 37 weeks on Saturday).

Lupins71 · 18/07/2008 08:16

Blimey where has the time gone, only seems a few weeks ago you two were announcing your blue lines

Am taking dd to the National Marine Aquarium today, dragging mum along as they are all insisting I am not alone "in case" anything should happen, I really wish I just knew what was happening I havent had any bleeding, cramping - not even sure how long all that takes to start, I am resigned to it now and its ok, would have been nice to have three (I think [mm]) but I have 2 wonderful dc and thats perfect, if I get to the scan and the little ticker is still going then I will be blown away and very happy but we will cross that bridge when we cross it, dp actually had the cheeck to say "havent I been good not pestering you for sex" he nearly got the saucepan thrown at him - and he quickly sobered up when I told him he isnt getting anywhere near me until he as had the snip hahahahahahahahha and I bloody meant it

Have a lovely day all - come on baby TYG outcha come

largeginandtonic · 18/07/2008 13:14

Come put baby TYG!!!! Your time is up, full moon.....

MKG i am so sorry about Buddy, at least you got him seen to straight away and he didnt suffer unnesesarily. How were the boys?

Charley the house looks amazing! You must be itching to have it all sorted. G looks adorable too and dd looks so cute in her bed with the pox!

Scoot hooray for your friend! Thank goodness, she must be terrified to move! Also a huge hooray for dh finally geting his priorities straight and booking you and the girls a holiday! How fantastic, can i come?

Phin did not get to her appointment I would have like to have known what was happening. Never mind. We have re scheduled. She got to her dentist app on Thursday and has been told she will have a G\A and 7 teeth out!!! Poor thing. All babay teeth and the dentist hopes her 2nd set are stronger, she was X rayed too to make sure she had a second set as quite often Turners girls don't. That is on 14th August The day dh returns from sea! Typical.

Lups the Aquarium is fab! Take a stroll along the Barbican too, nice wee shops and great fish and chips and ice cream! Oh i quite miss that Will be there in a couple of weeks!

Master hope you have a fabulous holiday! See you when you come back, tanned and relaxed i hope!

MIL has just gone back, i took her to get the now fixed car from the garage. I have been manic, lots of pick up and drop offs with school activities and Spanish girls.

Hoping for some peace soon, the kids all go tomorrow. I will just have Beauelicious He will be bored rotten with me! I am shopping on Monday with a certain MNetter so that will keep me occupied, poor old B will be fed all the way round the shops

I have to pack all their things later, that will be fun!

twelveyeargap · 18/07/2008 13:18

You seem very together Lups. I think you're being very strong. So horrible not to know what's going to happen. Hope you're having a nice day with the children.

GP just called. He got my test results back. Am on the wrong antibiotics. Gagh! Have to go and pick up a new prescription this afternoon. Am bound to get everything going for the next few months now. Always happens after I take antibiotics. Tsk.

twelveyeargap · 18/07/2008 13:22

Baby TYG decided to stay put last night, obviously. Having convinced myself it was going to happen I didn't really get to sleep til after 2, then A woke after 3 sometime and mooched around for over an hour (this NEVER happens) until I went in, changed her, gave her some Nurofen just in case and put her back down. Then she mooched around until after 5 and I got back off to sleep for a while and then it was time to get up. Harrumph.

largeginandtonic · 18/07/2008 13:25

Harumph indeed! Bed early for you tonight or you will be too tired to do anything, Adrenalin only carries you so far... No more cleaning, i forbid you. Especially before i visit, or i will feel terrible if you ever come to my mess! Shall i bring some cake? I am going to google a map this week [nervous emoticon]

twelveyeargap · 18/07/2008 14:47

Drive to Southampton, M3 as far as M25, M25 towards Heathrow, then M4 towards London. Join A406 North Circular at Chiswick Roundabout, then westbound til you come to my turnoff and I am very easily found from there.

I'll bake for you, unless of course I've just pushed O out the night before or something, then I might have to give it a miss.

Just had the lovely Scoot here with L & M, who are gorgeous. M is very grown up indeed. I can't get over it. She copies everything L does. Scoot looks very glamorous. Last time I saw her she was as pregnant as I am and last time she saw me, well I looked exactly the same! A slept right through their visit, which wasn't very polite.

MKG · 19/07/2008 12:41

Good morning!

My big news is that Mateo is going on a trip with Grandma to see my sister and his cousins next week. He is very excited to go on an airplane, but I'm sad he won't be here for a whole week. Oh well it will give Cruz time to heal. Mateo beats him up pretty bad, but Cruz is a trouble maker and very often instigates.

twelveyeargap · 19/07/2008 14:27

Good Morning! Phew, I thought it was something I said... No posts all yesterday evening.

It will be really nice for both of you MKG, if Mateo has a little trip. It will give you (and Cruz!) a bit of a break and he'll have a lovely time. Perhaps I am a mean Mammy, but I love sending the kids away! I do miss them, but wow, I make the most of the time "off".

Am VERY grumpy today. DH gone off to the Lovebox festival, which I was actually thinking of going to for a few hours with A, but FIL called last night to check it was "still ok" he came down to finish our downstairs loo. Very lovely of him, but first I bloody heard of it. DH somehow got himself into being the booker of tickets for various friends so "had no choice" but to go today and pick them up at the box office (and attend). Plus he had a lie in this morning til 10.

He has only spent one, possibly two full nights in bed in the last two weeks. It's really, really getting on my nerves now. He got some sleeping tablets so "he'd go to bed at night" (he finds it hard to wind down after work) and also so that he'd drink less and of course, he's drinking the same (3-4 a night) taking half a tablet at 11 and falling asleep on the bloody sofa. He wakes up at 4am, freezing, and then comes to bed and wakes me up and then he only dozes from 4 til 7 and wonders why he's tired all the time. He blames "work" of course instead of himself. Too tired to put my larder cupboard together, but not too farking tired to go to a festival... Grr, grr. And what about all those weeks I spent, heavily pregnant, working 10 hours a day at my job, then still managed to come home and cobble a meal together, do laundry etc. He might work long hours, but he has fck all else to do during the week. I was so cross yesterday that he arranged to take Monday off work to get some things done, but I'm still seething.

Lupins71 · 19/07/2008 15:19

TYG I can well sympathise on the getting things done - I have been waiting for the fireguard to be screwed to the wall for ages and I ave just asked for some cupboard catched to be done wonder how long that will take, I also have the same re getting to bed, very rare he is in bed b4 2am if not later usually falls asleep in is chair by the pc

MKG enjoy the break, I would be making the most of getting stuff done before it getting trashed again before I have even finished tidying it!

LGT you must come and visit when you are down this way, or we could meet up.

scootermum · 19/07/2008 19:47

Snorts at 'glamourous'

twelveyeargap · 19/07/2008 21:20

Twas lovely to have you here. Call in anytime. Seems silly to be passing my house all the time and not pop in for a cuppa.

The nails might not mean new tyres. It depends where the nails embed. I don't think you can repair a nail in the side wall of the tyre, but if it's on the flat, then they might be able to do a puncture repair. In fact, last time I had a nail in my tyre, Kwik Fit fixed it for free! The previous time I did need a new tyre, but hey ho. Given even the cheapest tyres are £75 each for my car, I am not complaining about a free repair for sure.

The car is a money pit. It's official. I had my only working key & remote nicked in the burglary and have since been having to go round to the driver's side to disable the alarm by turning the key in the ignition. Nightmare with one baby in arms on a very busy road, but a complete pain the a'se if I have two babies. Anyway, bought a new remote (£124) the other day and the nice chap on the parts desk said to come back today to have it linked to the car, as they often don't bother charging on a Saturday since the office is barely staffed. Went back today and they couldn't get the thing to link to the car. Said it's probably the security transponder (??), which is over £250. I can't justify paying that purely for convenience on a 13 year old car worth less than £2K. Ludicrous. Sad though, because the mechanic guy was saying how great my model car was and how they go on forever and mine was in great nick, the model they made from the year after mine wasn't as good, blahdy blah. He must have felt sorry for me, because he gave me his mobile number and said to call him on Tuesday and he'll see if one of the other mechanics has the part I need in a toolbox somewhere. They might be able to fit it (to check that is indeed the problem) and buy the part off them cheaply for cash or summat. Fingers crossed. Have visions of having to get both children in the buggy, wheel them to the side of the car whilst I open it and then get them back out of the buggy into the car seats. I mean, it's not the end of the world, but it really would be a pathetic faff.

DH goes, "When we were kids our parents didn't have central locking." No, they didn't, but they could open the passenger door with a key and stick us in the back. They didn't have an automatically enabling immobiliser system that required them to turn the key in the sodding ignition every time they opened the door! Tsk.

Boo hoo. I love my car. I don't want it to be broken all the time. The garage today was stuffed full of Bentleys, Land Rovers, Lotuses and brand new Jaguars and I swear mine had the most "class".

AbbyLou · 20/07/2008 08:46

Morning all.
Had a great night out last night at Bistro Live in Nottingham celebrating my friend's hen night. Bad news is I've got a horrible feeling I've broken my foot. It feels exactly the same as it did last time. I managed all night dancing on tables, getting up and down on stairs and then when we were walking to the car I fell down a one inch step.

largeginandtonic · 20/07/2008 09:42

JONAH GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!

Wahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Am so relieved, he starts September 4th, just the twins to get in now! Oh hooray.

TYG i am thinking of Tuesday for a visit. What do you think? I am so bored already. Have vinegared the windows this morning already, hoovered, tidied and cleaned entire kitchen, bleached the bin and scrubbed it, done two loads of washing and striped 5 beds.

I am meeting Cod for lunch and shopping tom and will have to pop in to Jonahs new school Tuesday to sign stuff. Wednesday i have to take Paula (Spanish girl) to school as she leaves. Tuesday i am free for rest of the day.

Tis ok if you have plans, i will vinegar the upstairs windows.

largeginandtonic · 20/07/2008 09:43

Abby you shouldnt be allowed out!!! You cant break your foot it is the start of the summer hols!!! Nooooooooo!

AbbyLou · 20/07/2008 10:04

I know LG&T, imagine how gutted I am. I'm really not sure whether it is broken or not. It is easier to walk on now but still very swollen and quite painful. Dh had promised C a day out at Thomasland, we were all going to go. I've told them to go anyway, C would have been so disappointed otherwise. I feel gutted, I was looking forward to a family day out. Dh couldn't take R otherwise he couldn't go on any rides with C so the in laws have been round to take her out for a walk for me or else she'll have to stay inside with me all day. I can't even carry her upstairs to bed. To be fair she can climb the stairs herslef but can't get down again and I don't know how safe I would be behind her. If it is no better tonight dh will take me to A&E to get ti checked. We've still got 3 days left at school yet and I've got no idea how I'm going to get there!!

MKG · 20/07/2008 14:43

AbbyLou I hope your foot it ok.

LG&T--Hooray for Jonah!

TYG--I hope this baby comes soon.

Life is good here. Nothing to new to report. We're in the middle of a heat wave, which totally sucks. It's so hot a humid I want to die.

I'm feeling really good though, just tired. Dh is still wondering if I'm pregnant. He asked me, "How do you know?". I said, "Because I haven't had my period in 6 weeks you idiot"

AbbyLou · 20/07/2008 16:52

It's ok, panic over. I've been to A&E and it's just bruised. She said to rest (!) and put ice on it so hopefully it will be better soon. I don't know how I'm going to get to work tomorrow though.
