Tribal dance would be good! I think defrosting freezer and smell of bleach indicated things were moving last time... I might inflate the pool to check it over and spray a bit of Milton on it. DH is on lates, or I'd make him do it!

Themasterandmargaritas · 16/07/2008 17:47

Oooh yes, get the pool out

I'm just popping off to the museum for a few handy tribal dance sticks, a mask and a splash of white body paint.

That should do the trick nicely.

You've got 36 hours max.

MKG · 16/07/2008 17:49

He's a German Short-haired Pointer. I have to say he's the best dog I've ever had. I grew up with great danes (they are also wonderful dogs) He loves to please people, has lots of energy and loves the kids and is very good with them. We had one before we got this one, but we put him to sleep because of serious health issues. As a breed they are lovely animals.

MKG · 16/07/2008 17:49

Jam-un-invite them. Tell them that they had their chance to RSVP and didn't so you made other plans.

Themasterandmargaritas · 16/07/2008 18:03

Our puppy's mummy is a Pointer too They have boundless energy don't they? Fingers crossed he makes a quick recovery.

charleymouse · 16/07/2008 18:36

Hope doggy feeling better MKG.
Have put some pics up of house still work in progress in some rooms but we are getting there.

AprilMeadow · 16/07/2008 18:50

Hi all

Just a quick one as we are in total chaos at the moment. Spent yesterday waiting for carpet to be laid so that i could set up the lounge. Today the wood floor has started to be laid but it was a struggle to get it done ( i think i stamped my feet pretty hard). Kitchen is done and tomorrow they will be doing the utility and either dining or playroom. Finish off on Friday. 2 bathrooms finished and tomorrow they have a guy in to clean them all up. Moved over 95% of Jacks room (just his bed and chest of drawers left) and 50% of Ellas as well as all mine and dh's clothes.

Tomorrow the removal men are in at half 8. The new place will be manic tomorrow:

Alarm company sorting the alarm
painter
4x bathroom fitters
flooring man
man fitting the blinds
window cleaner
plus us and removal men

Am going to the new place tonight to clean the kitchen and unpack all the stuff i have taken over so that i can re pack the boxes with other stuff in the morning.

LG&T, hope Phins appt went well
MKG, sorry to hear that your pooch is poorly
Scoot, how is your colleague?
TYG, i hope TMAM's chanting works for you
Hi Charley, will have a peek at the house pics in a mo
Lups, hope you are ok
JAM, tell them that your plans have changed and remind them of the fact you are preggers
Hello to everyone else xx

MKG · 16/07/2008 20:53

Buddy was put to sleep a few minutes ago. The doctor said that he was throwing up blood, and said that he had toxic gut.

I feel so guilty for being the one to tell her to do it.

Themasterandmargaritas · 16/07/2008 20:55

Oh MKG I'm so sorry. Better that than he be in pain.

Lupins71 · 16/07/2008 20:58

MKG glad pooch is not too bad, should respond well to IV, my uncle has pointers and they are lovely, very mellow

TYG get that poool up, I need some excitement

CM George looks so cool! and the looks like its really motoring now

AM gawd you are bossy - I like ur style, its amazing how you have got this move pushed along

I have been consoling my boredom by playing online bingo, jeeesss I need to go for a walk!!!!

Madamejaffa · 16/07/2008 21:04

MKG, I'm so sorry. You had to make that choice, you didn't have any other that didn't include alot of suffering. You made the correct one. How will the boys take it do you think?

JamInMyWellies · 16/07/2008 21:10

oh MKG how sad for you it was the best thing to do it would have been cruel to let him suffer anymore.

Madamejaffa · 16/07/2008 21:12

Just had a look at toxic gut MKG, it says it's a silent killer, so you musn't feel guilty, there is nothing you could have done. You did what you could at the time as soon as you knew. So sorry. xx

AprilMeadow · 16/07/2008 22:02

MKG am so sorry that poor Buddy has passed. At least now he is not suffering. Sending you big hugs xx

Lupins71 · 16/07/2008 22:04

MKG OMG X posted so sorry for your little pooch, hugs to all of you, at least you were a brave and responsible, caring owner that made him a happy loving dog with a wonderful life xx

MKG · 16/07/2008 22:09

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm feeling better, just drained.

elkiedee · 16/07/2008 22:50

charleymouse · 16/07/2008 23:25

MKG so sorry about Buddy
Cheers Lups, he is getting up to speed still seems little to me though
Good luck with the move April, I think stamping is definitely in order with people in the property/building trade.
LGT hope Phins apt was okay.

twelveyeargap · 17/07/2008 09:49

I'm really sorry about Buddy, MKG.

Hope all goes well today AM. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. I hate moving! It's going to be so lovely for you all when you're settled.

AprilMeadow · 17/07/2008 10:59

Its manic here. Surrounded by boxes here and if i go to the new place then i am surrounded by boxes and fitters. Think i should go and find a nice little cafe!

AprilMeadow · 17/07/2008 11:01

Lupins71 · 17/07/2008 11:38

TYG any niggles today???? did you get the pool up

MKG · 17/07/2008 13:27

Good morning everyone! I'm feeling much better today, after finally getting a good night's sleep. I have a lot to do to catch up on the house though. I don't really want to do anything though.

Lupins71 · 17/07/2008 13:56

MKG have a rest day - you still need to catch up your sleep and there is no point overdoing it

scootermum · 17/07/2008 14:31

TYG-sorry about yesterday..my boss insisted o following me in her car back from Finchley to Islington so I couldnt skive off to yours..and I didnt have my phone with me yesterday so couldnt text..Will email you later and see if you are around tomorrow..

MKG about Buddy..

AM Hope the move is going well...

Largegandt..How w as Phins appointment?

Not sure how effective Tixylix is really Lookatthelottie..but is tastes nice and even if it just eases the cough for a while its worth it.The only other thing is to prop her up on a pillow in her cot-helps to be upright..

How do to everyone else..

My staff member was fine in the end.I have given her the rest of the week off and when she comes back am putting her on light duties, sod what the policy and procedure says about no light duties till 30 weeks or something ridiculous..was so relieved all was well..Am not setting foot in the hospital again though..if I am ever unfortunate enough to be in an accident round here I will demand to be taken to the Whittington (and thats saying something!)

I am knackered today for no good reason, since I was in bed by 9pm last night..But Thursday is Friday for me so guess its just end of the week syndrome..

Oh and DH has booked us a week in Gran Canaria, fully catered and 4 star, (two weeks after the family 'holiday')I should ruddy well think so!God knows where he's found the money for it (his Bose all room wireless music system thingymabob that he's after, fund I imagine), but thats the price you pay for gargantuan errors of marital judgement like that!Graciously I have elected to forgive him slightly..but I still have to get through the family holiday the week after next and I fear there is no interweb access, nor mobile phone reception for that matter.I beg of you.
