SOH..You could cme over to mine and see how easy it is with two and that will surely have you rushing home to DH and getting started immediately on another!

Or not.L went to bed at 8 last night, woke up at 12 (for a wee!)and 4.M woke up at 5..I am like a zombie this morn.

largeginandtonic · 15/07/2008 09:51

TYG thank goodness you went, the pain when it moves up to your kidneys is not nice. Labour and that going on >

Scoot don't scare her off!!! I want her to have more gorgeous bundles soon! How are you feeling now? Bloody dh, book a hol on your own!

Lups how are you feeling today, symptom wise? What do you think is going on?

Abby a huge well done on the weight loss! I will be going all out after this baby having my sisters wedding to be a Maid of Honor at in the August... am a bit scared i will look like deflated water ballon in the photos to haunt me forever!

DH phoned me last nght (well at 630) right in the middle of tea\bedtime nightmare. He said he hates his job and wants to leave! He has spoken to his boss and will talk to his appointer (guy who organises drafts etc..) he thinks another 2 years and out! Am a bit about it. He has been workning up to this point for years and now has changed his mind, no challenge in the job and he is just not enjoying it.

Don't know what to think really, enforced separation and stress of the last 2 years for him to get to this point and now...

Hugs is still croaking and a bit under the weather, he climbed in to my bed at 130. Fidget fuss and more fidget i put him back in his own bed at 230. The boy was stirring too so had a very fitful sleep. Need another early night!

Lupins71 · 15/07/2008 10:57

LGT men eh! wonder if we will ever work them out, maybe he is missing being away from you all so often, seems rather sudden tho doeant it, hope B feels better soon, A was up in the night with his teeth he has been a right grumpy bugger. I have got a bit of backache and a bit of very mild aching round front, am also back drinking tea and havent felt sick today (not that I miss that), overall I feel better about everything, would rather not have to wait 2 weeks for everything to be officailly over - if little one has gone then I dont see why I cant go in in say a week and have it confirmed and dealt with, 2 weeks does seem to drag it out alot - I suppose they are hoping nature will take its course in that time.

SCOOT save up the cb and book your own holiday and only tell him a week before!

Themasterandmargaritas · 15/07/2008 12:14

Ooooh LG&T, they love to have mid-life crises these husbands, and nothing better than to call for a chat at prime supper/bedtime/utter chaos moment. It was a crisis like that that led to us being here... Just think the last two years have meant that you have an amazingly strong marriage and all his hard work and promotion will count for something in his 'new career'. Does he have an idea or a dream of what he would like to do?

Sorry that Hugs is off colour. Do you think my children are abnormal because they never seem to be ill? Or perhaps I'm not very attentive

TYG, phew on the antibiotics otherwise the wee fella could have arrived on my predicted date. Hope you are not feeling too uncomfortable.

Lups, good to hear you sounding perkier this morning. I agree that two weeks is a long time to wait. However don't rush into things..

Abby, well done on the weight loss. Sadly if I keep eating like have done the last 6 months I shall be needing some tips.

How's Lily getting on Scoot with her sanitary pads toilet training?

We went to the newly done up museum this morning and looked at lots of stuffed animals for a change. It's been done well and the dc learnt all about evolution We are going to Mombasa on Friday for 2 weeks, I am looking forward to the heat, but not looking forward to a week on my own with The Fat One. Dh is going up to the uninhabitable and slightly dangerous northern frontier to go and climb a mountain noone has heard of, with his friends. Then he will join us at the end of the week, phew. I then expect to do plenty of lounging on the beach

Themasterandmargaritas · 15/07/2008 12:16

forget the maldives scoot, get a flight to mombasa and I will ditch the kids and join you there

JamInMyWellies · 15/07/2008 14:21

hello all,

how is everyone?

LLups I am so sorry you are going through this tough time try to stay positive my love I hope it all works out for you.

Scoot bloody DH am glad things have thawed a bit now. PMSL as the sanitarty towel.

LG&T MEN what more can I say

Not much happening in the jammy household apart from A driving me bonkers he screams all the time, have had a convo with DP about it today he thinks there is something wrong with him - eejit. I have had to remind him that its mostly frustration as A is desperate to tell us things and he doesnt know how to communicate them properly.

Went to see my sis yesterday, she is 37wks preg and you would think she is dying, she gets up from her bed in the morning and moves to the sofa then back to her bed in the eve, she has chucked her DP out of the bedroom. She is the size of a house and it looks like someone has taken a bicyle pump to her feet. Honestly you would think no one else has ever been preg. I took her to bravisimmo to get her boobs done she is a K cup!!!!!!! She would walk two steps then stop and complain that the baby was kicking her jaysus she is going to have a shock when that baby comes out. I am all for having a laze but my god woman. I know I know am a cow.

OP posts:
scootermum · 15/07/2008 15:05

I love it when you see preggers women who 'cant' do things because they are pregnant.I was like that with L..It was an inconvenience some days to get up and do some light ironing and I dont even knwo what else I did when I was on mat leave before she came..pottered about I suppose..sigh.what I wouldnt give for that now..

And no chance of it with baby number 2 plus thats for sure..

Have just had to take one of my staff to the Homerton hospital. She is 22 weeks with a history of miscarriage at this stage and of still birth, and hadnt felt the baby move for a day and was starting to feel unwell.I waited with her till her DH could come.I hope it will be OK..

Was at the hospital though. The bit where they send you for an emergency scan is actually on the postnatal ward, so you have a que of pregnant women frightened they are losing their babies right next to newborns and their Mums. And the scans are done behind a curtain, not even in a room so they (and the results) are clearly audible to all, which was horrid, esp as the poor woman in front of us had lost her baby

Then a nurse came past, peeked into a private room, saw there were two visitors and told the security guard to go and get them to leave. They werent doing anything wrong, it was just visiting time was over, but why didnt she ask them herself rather than get the male security guard (The Mum was in there in bed) to go in and ask them to go?..(They were two youngish girls and didnt warrant security at all!)
What is the world coming to?!

Anyway am waiting on her ringing to let me know how it goes...>>worried emoticon

AbbyLou · 15/07/2008 18:45

Hi all.
Scoot I hope all is well with your colleague. What a horrible frightening situation to be in. It sounds like that hospital environment is far from ideal too.
Well the end of term is nearly here, only a week and a day left and then I've got six lovely weeks off with my kiddywinks - let's see how long it is until I'm desperate for work to start!!!

MKG · 15/07/2008 19:23

Hello everyone.

I don't really have much to say today as I feel like I'm dying due to waking up to alarms and sirens this morning. Our whole neighborhood lost power and all the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms went off. A little old lady called 911 and started it off. Just a power failure, but my goodness I'm drained right now.

LookattheLottie · 15/07/2008 21:00

-Good- Evening!

I'm sorry I'm too tired to catch up. I'll second the zombie status though! C is really ill! I've had no sleep the last two nights because of it. I'm wearily walking round trying to keep on top of the house as my mum's away this week, and nobody else seems to want to do anything to help keep the place clean and tidy. I managed to get her bathed and into bed with her bottle for 8, but I'm dreading later as I know she'll wake up and stay up! She went down without a fight though tonight so all the fresh air earlier must have done her some good.

I bought her some tixilicks (sp?) cough medicine earlier as her cough is dreadful. Everytime she's fighting to breathe as she gags badly, and it takes the poor thing ages to recover from it! Is this the best cough syrup she can have, or is there a better one? She bursts into tears after every coughing fit as it's clearly hurting hr throat. It's getting to me as well as even though I don't think I'm overly precious with her, it really upsets me to see her this way. No point in going to the doctors as they'll send me away with the 'it's a virus, give her calpol' diagnosis.

I went into town earlier to get her some fresh air and see if it would settle her to sleep, which it did. I got down and M&CO were having a huge sale. I then remembered I've got 3 Birthdays to buy for. 2 boys are turning 1 and another boy next door is turning 2. They all bought C such beautiful gifts for her Birthday I have to return the favour, but I can't really afford to. I got them some lovely things although I've now got a huge hole in my bank account where the money used to be. I'm also desperatley trying to get my student overdraft paid off as they haven't yet clicked I'm not a student anymore. The minute they do I'll get hit with interest, which would really hurt. I put in £20 today and I'll do the same at the end of the week. Being a grown up sucks lol!

Scoot I hope your friend is ok.

elkiedee · 15/07/2008 22:50

Scooter, what a horribly scary exprerience for your colleague, and by the sound of it for those other women at the Homerton. I must say, antenatal at my hospital is incredibly tatty, maternity was missed out completely of last year's makeover, but at least they provide a good service within their means, all my appointments have been when they should be, even when rescheduled.

twelveyeargap · 15/07/2008 23:25

Scoot, I texted you, but wonder now if you've changed your number. Would love to see you tomorrow. Have emailed my house number. Hope your colleague is ok.

Am typing on phone so will catch up on the rest of you tomorrow.

largeginandtonic · 16/07/2008 09:35

Scoot did you hear yet??? Poor lady, glad she had you with her

TYG have the anti bs worked? Hope so.

Hello LW long time no see!

MKG did you get a better nights sleep? DH is on your land atm! He sailed in to Norfolk yesterday! He is hitting the malls and supermarkets for yummy goodies and presents, i hope He had better not be eating steaks and drinking Bud anyhooo

Link me to an American supermarket MKG so i can give him a shopping list please.

MKG · 16/07/2008 11:17

LG&T-- try www.shoprite.com Grocery stores are regional, so I don't know what would be by him, but this is a start.

My dog is going very sick I think he's going to die today. Yesterday dh took him for a run and dh said that his backlegs went out. He spent the night vomiting and with diarrhea. He can't move at all now. He laid in the same position all night long. I've been giving him water and electrolytes. I can't believe this is happening. He's such a kind dog.

largeginandtonic · 16/07/2008 12:03

Oh no MKG! Is he an old dog?

My parents lost both our dogs within 6 months of each other last year. It was horrendous, mum was beside herself we had had them sice i was 11 I hope he is not in too much pain, what do you think has happened?

Ta for the link.

Lupins71 · 16/07/2008 12:25

MKG so sorry to hear about your dog, do you think he has eaten some poison???

SCOOT hope the lady is ok? it is similar at the RBH, there is a central waiting room - if you recieve any bad news you ave to walk back through the waiting room full of happy expectant mothers

MKG · 16/07/2008 12:25

He just turned 3. I don't know. He's pooping blood though. My mom is on her way to help me take him to the vet.

largeginandtonic · 16/07/2008 12:39

3! Oh no, i hope the vet can help poor thing. Glad your mom is nearby to hlp.

Have just had my mil on the phone, her car has broken down enroute here, she was coming to do the school run for me later as Phin has another appointment at the hospital. Kidney scan today, they are looking for a horseshoe shaped one that is common with Turners girls.

I am buggered if she cant make it, dd's app is at 320 in a hosp about an hour away. Why oh why do these things happen!

twelveyeargap · 16/07/2008 14:39

LG&T - I'm convinced that having babies makes men question their career choices. I gave DH chapter and verse about changing careers before we had a baby and he was adamant it wasn't the right time. Then he got itchy feet when I was pregnant. Tsk. Thankfully changing to a new firm was enough to settle him down again! Can N do anything else within his current career structure, rather than doing something completely different?
Bugger about MIL's car. I don't suppose you can call in any favours from all those parents whose children you seem to have to tea all the time?

MKG I'm really sorry about your dog. I think some tick bites can cause problems like you describe because Lyme Disease (from ticks common in your state, I'm reading) can cause some sort of arthritis. In such a young dog, arthritis in it's usual form seems unlikely. Poor thing.

Jam - Having sat on my arse for my first two pregnancies and been like a balloon at the end, I can confirm that staying active is the best way to get through a pregnancy. Your sister will sail through her next one if she has a toddler to run around after!

So I've defrosted the spare freezer today, chucked all the old freezer-burned food, sprayed mildew remover all over the showers and de-scaled the shower seals. If this baby does not arrive by Saturday morning, then I am declaring that there is no such thing as a "sign" that there is an imminent arrival.

JamInMyWellies · 16/07/2008 14:53

Oh MKG poor you I really hope the vet can make him better.

Scoot hows your friend?

LG&T have you managed to get someone to pick up the DC?

TYG have you beeen drinking lots of cranberry juice I used to suffer really badly with UTI and kidney stones. A warm bath some paracetemol and as much juice as you can get down your neck.

Mrs JB meant to say yesterday sending you lots of patience I would say living with parents when you are an adult is one of the most difficult things you can do bravo for lasting 4yrs.

Am suffering for another of those awful preggo headaches tried to take some paracetemol this morning and kept chucking it straight back up. [bleugh]

Bit peed off today my BF has flown in for a few days from NY and only has 1 arvo and night to be able to spend with us. It is her first visit since having her LO 2 months ago. So anyway when we lived in NY there was a group of us who used to hang out together over the last 3 yrs we have all pretty much migrated back to London. Although I have seen them all a few times since I had Archie they have pretty much dropped off the face of the earth. Anyway thought seeing as BF was over we should invite them all to mine for a few drinks this invite was sent to them several wks ago not one responded so gentle reminder sent lasrt wk still nothing. Both myself and BF quite pleased as it meant we could properly catch up. But his afternoon they have decide that now they are coming so after planning a nice quiet catch up eve with BF tom with lovely dinner I know have to cook a meal for 10 people and will hardly get a chance to talk to BF. I know I am being a bit selfish and unreasonable but if you were sent an invite and then a reminder is it not just plain rude to 24 hrs before to suddenly decide you are coming?

OP posts:
twelveyeargap · 16/07/2008 15:03

Very, very rude of them JAM. I'd be quite .

The anti-biotics worked more or less straight away thanks.

Lupins71 · 16/07/2008 15:48

JAM I would say sorry we have other plans now!

MKG hows the pooch, hope the vet can sort him out

A just toddled across the lounge its not that I am trying to rush his babyhood away but he is sooooo flippin heavy

LGT Hope you made it to the appt ok and all is fine with Phin

I am thinking of treating myself to a fandango food mixer for my b'day, dp spent all our left over cash for that fortnight (he gets a cheque every other week) on his bloody tattoo so i feel I may go overboard on my pressie - not that we can afford it but I do desrve a little treat, it will be for my b'day and it will get tons of use - today alone I have made cheese and onion plait bread, rice cripie jobbies and some yummy choc & hazelnut cookies

MKG · 16/07/2008 16:39

Well she says he's severly dehydrated, and she's been seeing a lot of dogs come in like him lately. She admitted him to the hospital and put him on an IV. She's doing bloodwork and X-rays to rule out major problems, but says that if he responds to the IV we should have him home tomorrow.

I should know more at 2pm when they get the blood results back.

Poor guy they had him on a doggy stretcher because he can't walk.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does have hip dysplasia he's a pure breed and his breed is prone to it.

I'm exhausted this is the second day in a row that I've gotten essentially no sleep.

JamInMyWellies · 16/07/2008 17:14

MKG hope that he is better tom what sort of breed is he.

OP posts:
Themasterandmargaritas · 16/07/2008 17:29

MKG but also pleased that it doesn't sound too serious. It sounds like dh gave him too difficult a time! What breed is he? We had a GSD who got tick fever at 3 months and was never quite 100% after that. I always dreaded her having hip dysplasia as they are very prone. Sadly she died rather young but had a happy life.

TYG, do we need to start doing some kind of tribal birth chants to get the process rolling for you? What normally are your first indications that things are moving?

LG&T, I hope you made it to Phin's appt, I'm with TYG in hoping you called in all those favours and especially that woman whose Friday school run you did for her for ever.

Congrats Lups on the toddler Thank goodness J is now so very mobile, I can't imagine what 14 kgs would do to my back otherwise.

Good heavens Jam, do your friends know you are pregnant? How very rude. If I were you, I would ask them all to bring a dish to compensate for the late notice, allocate each one something to bring, ie Jane brings a starter for 10, Katie brings a rice dish, etc so there is no room for manoeuvre. You offer to do all drinks and pudding and hey presto dinner for 10 with little effort on your part.

J and B were jabbed again today. J had MMR and Hep A, and for B I gave in and gave him the chickenpox vaccine. I have tried every which way for him to get them naturally but no joy and the older he gets, I couldn't face the scratching nightmare. I will not give it to J though until he is about the same age.

I guess April is in full box loading and unpacking mode.

Sky, did you decide on which kind of trampoline to get? Talk me through the size options....
