Sorry if someone else has already started one - couldn't find it!

Much better night last night, maybe due to gripe water?

Weekend plans? see mil, sort baby stuff to pass on to someone on freecycle.

Seems very much like the end of aphase, which it is of course, and i can't say i'm too chuffed about it, but DH needs his time too.

Holidays start today also- fab

Sal22 · 18/07/2008 10:10

Hi Peachy. Yep, it still makes me a little mushy looking at all these tiny clothes knowing he fit in it not long ago. On the one hand great that he's developed so much, we can "chat" and he laughs etc, but on the other hand - it's so fast!

Denny185 · 18/07/2008 10:12

Hello Loumoose

Thats great news Sal long may it continue

School breaks up today, oh joy 6 weeks of I'm bored, where we going, what can I do next. Thankfully we have some really good leisure centres up here who do cheap activities for the kids and the local mere is doing pond dipping sessions.

This weekend is the carnival and then party in the park. DH is at work so taking the 3 of them by myself (debating some kind of attachment device for the 6 year old who has a tendancy to wander). Should be lots for kiddies to do, fingers crossed for dry weather or it may be a picnic indoors.

scorpio1 · 18/07/2008 10:42

Mine finish next thursday, arrgghh!

Peachy - deffo no more? Can you look on it as a new phase to start?

Glad R slept through Mimi woke up at 630am today, from half 8.

DH was an arse to me last night but ok now. He told me to shut up, silly i know but i really hate it - i never talk like that you see, am v nicey nicey in RL. Im not a hun though

Weekend plans...taking dc to watch Wall-E, supermarket, wine....and no condom splitting

Sal22 · 18/07/2008 11:07

Oh sorry, see what you mean, Peachy. Am a bit thick this morning (and no no-sleep excuse...)

Scorpio, it's not an excuse, your DH shouldn't have said that, but I think they can't handle tiredness etc very well. My dh must be one of the nicest, most "decent" people alive, and he's snapped etc at me lately. Always very apologetic and nice, like your dh, afterwards. Don't really know what to say to make it better, but at least you're not alone. Hmm, maybe he could make up for it with some nice choc cake!

Denny - busy weekend ahead! Enjoy (and good luck, although you sound as if you don't really need it! )

scorpio1 · 18/07/2008 12:12

God my rent people are so stupid. Last time they took 3x rent, now 2x rent

DH is ringing them now. ffs

sagitta · 18/07/2008 12:17

Sorry to hear that again, Scorpio.

I am having a shocking day. DD1 had major tantrums this morning, and dd2 has been crying since 9.00am. She won't sleep or settle or chill at all. Just tried some calpol, so hopefully that'll help. We are meant to be going out tonight for the first time, but if they are both playing up I don't see how we can leave them with a babysitter. And I have to go into town to buy some shoes to go out in, but I am so knackered...

scorpio1 · 18/07/2008 12:19

have you tried putting her on her front over your lap and rubbing her back? Mimi likes that. Sorry to hear that though, sounds horrid.

Do you totally have to go out?

scorpio1 · 18/07/2008 12:20

money back already, yay!

sagitta · 18/07/2008 12:23

We're meant to be going to a black tie do. The only dress I can fit into is the one I wore to my mates wedding, on my due date. . So I thought if I had nice shoes I might be able to get away with crap dress. And I don't have any nice shoes, or tights. So I do have to go out. But maybe DD2 will settle if we go into town?

Will try the back rubbing thing, thanks!

oops

scorpio1 · 18/07/2008 12:26

does she have a sling? i bet that would settle ger. Mimi protests for ten mins but then zonks out!

Is she teething?

sagitta · 18/07/2008 12:31

She absolutely loathes the sling and baby bjorn. It might be teething, I'm not sure. Whatever it is, it is starting to wear me down - but not her, unfortunately.

scorpio1 · 18/07/2008 12:32

Hang on in there, it will stop i promise! Is DH about later? On bad days i express then bugger off in the bath for the night.

sagitta · 18/07/2008 12:33

Well, he's meant to be coming home early so we can go out...but I'll believe it when i see it!

VictorianSqualor · 18/07/2008 13:32

The calpol should kick in soon and she'll chill,
DS2 has been like this a few times lately, it's definitely his teeth.

I think I've scared dp
He's hoping to sell his car this weekend and I've been looking at toyota corolla versos (7 seaters)

He wants an Audi A4...

scorpio1 · 18/07/2008 14:24

lol

we are upgrading too, to a 7 seater citroen c4. we have a 5 seat c4 and love it, so this is a bit bigger

sagitta · 18/07/2008 16:22

She's finally gone to sleep - at 4pm! First time all day. I guess its teeth.

Pretty shit afernoon though, both of us broke down in tears (well, she was screaming anyway) in the multi storey car park as I emptied my entire bag on the floor trying to find my keys.
But I got yummy shoes.

over big cars. ours is a tiny ford fiesta. With 2 car seats plus a few nappies and a buggy, its completely full.

VictorianSqualor · 18/07/2008 16:34

Well, we currently have a BMW coupe, not enough room for two seats let alone three, plus as it's a sport it's all designed to get speed rather than comfort, TBH, I hate it.
DP has a 5door ford focus company car which we've been using but he leaves this job next friday to start with the Police, so we need a 'family car'.
We'll have about 7.5k to get a new one and a 2003/2004 toyota corola verso in diesel (he is going to be driving 30-40 miles a day during training) with only 30-40 000 miles on the clock is about 6.5k so IMO the best idea.
He wants to get an Audi A4 but I know he'll just moan in a year or two when we actually need a 7 seater that his Audi has lost its value and it'll cost us more.
I've decided I'm not going to bother with any contraception, I don't think I'm fertile yet anyway, I reckon my bleed was associated with the pill, and Alex is still waking most nights (well, he wants cuddles at 4an so I snuggle up with him and sometimes he feeds sometimes he doesn't) but in six months I'm going to ttc properly because we can then afford a four-bed by the time the new baby is old enough to leave my room.
Now I just have to tell DP all this

LadyBee · 18/07/2008 21:52

Wow Sal, great news about the sleeping through - I wonder whether he'll do the same tonight?

Sagitta, well done on surviving (just) a trip into town when DC not cooperating. There's no way in hell I would have attempted that, even for yummy shoes.

VS - don't understand what Alex waking at night has to do with contraception. Is that when you and DH get jiggy? and what is a four-bed?

I have the hiccups after eating a delicious dinner made by DP and slurping down some lovely cider. I hate the hiccups

Scorpio, passports are a PITA. I had a phone call from the NZ office the other telling me my photos of Babybee have been rejected because there was a collar partially covering a bit of his chin. Understandable really, would make it a bit difficult to recognise him on the cctv when he commits terrorist acts in the strategic security capital of the world that is New Zealand
Traipsed into town today to get replacements done, but still have to get them signed by the people who did the others and they're currently in South Africa at a friend's wedding. Bollocks.
Also, am still waiting for another copy of his birth certificate, which I applied for last Friday and was told would be sent to me on Monday this week. No sign. Nothing is easy is it?

I am starting to panic about childcare. I had been thinking childminder but for some reason I now think I should get his name down at a nursery as well. So I spent some time looking them up online and there is only 1 nursery in our surrounding area that takes under 2s. And it takes 10. There is no chance. Still, at least it got a good report. Am going to go and have a look and talk to them next week - even if by the time his name came up on the list I was back on mat leave with the next...

Mum2BabyRoo · 18/07/2008 22:12

LadyBee - to translate on behalf of VS - I think the fact that Alex is still breastfeeding means that VS is still 'safe' from falling pregnant again, and a four bed is a four bed house. Right VS?

Scorpio - have yo applied for a passport for Millie? If so how long ago and have you got it yet? Sorry if you have said all this already - too lazy to go back and look. We applied for Gigi's passport a few weeks ago in the hope we get it before we go to Italy in Sept - I really didn't think it would take too long...

What a pain for you LadyBee - big mission. The 1st pics we did of Gigi for her SA passport were rejected and we had to get more done as well - big time PITA I agree! Good luck with the childcare situation - let us know how you get along with that.

VictorianSqualor · 19/07/2008 10:03

ROFFLE!

Oh LadyBee you did make me chuck;e

As M2BR says, it is suggested that when BFing if you're still doing night feeds that you're less likely to be fertile.

BFing can stop your periods coming back but night feeding is one of the big bits.

And yes, four-bed is a four-bed house. We currently have a three-bed, and are happy for Alex & Bobby to share for a while once we move but will definitely need a four-bed in the future if we have another baby.

We've said six months. So after xmas we ttc.

Sal22 · 19/07/2008 10:33

8pm to 5:30 this morning. Long may it continue! I am however still knackered as I couldn't sleep. How annoying. Was up till just before one, got some sleep, then wandered around again at 3, etc, etc. I'll try and avoid coffee today.

On the passport issues - we've applied for Roelof's South African one, but apparently it can take up to 6 months. So we can't really plan anything (we want to have him Christened there) until we've got it back. I just keep hoping and praying that they don't get back to us in 3 months or so saying they've got a problem with the photo or something and that we should start the process all over again.

Mum2B - when did they inform you? (Did you apply by post?)

Hope all of you will be having a great day.

scorpio1 · 19/07/2008 15:28

I am going to send it off, it normally only takes a couple of weeks, but i use check and send at the post office, dont know if that makes it any quicker

Doesn't look like we are using contraception either..... but Mimi doesnt do night feeds at all. Takes me forever to get pg so should be fine. OK if not fne anyway iyswim

Havent done much today, Mimi keeps being really fussy at my boob. oh the joys!!
