Sorry if someone else has already started one - couldn't find it!

Much better night last night, maybe due to gripe water?

Well I'm hoping someone can show Zoe the through the night trick cos she's certainly not picking it up on her own. We were doing so well, at leasta 5-6 hour stretch at night, but she had a cold and now we're back to 3 hours max, then waking every 2 hours. So tired. And she won't take a bottle so I feel like I'm never going to be able to leave the house without her.

ok, moan over. Peachy, sorry you're having such a hard time with the hva, she sounds like a complete cow.

LadyBee · 18/06/2008 21:33

BLW - I see... looks interesting, can't get head around idea that they can chew (eventually), it's amazing how much they develop and how quickly isn't it..sigh. Was making myself sad walking home this afternoon thinking about having to go back to work. Only trying to work out when should start ttc no.2 made me feel a bit happier.
Am on cerezette until then, been feeling a bit 'period-y' last few days - hope I won't get lots of bleeding on this pill.
Yay, DP is about to deliver dinner. Am going to try to post photos on profile later, if connection holds. Internet v dodgy all day.

VictorianSqualor · 18/06/2008 22:07

Ladybee, with 'normal' weaning (well what it used to be suggested to do) you would do purees for a couple of months then go onto finger foods, so by changing the guidelines to not before 6 months rather than from 4-6months they cut out the puree stage.
It's pretty clever really, it has been suggested that as we are but animals, our baby's guts are physically ready from the time they can sit up unaided, grab food, put food to mouth, chew and swallow and the before our guts are physically ready then we would fail somewhere in the process. I find it amazing, others may not find it quite so interesting!
As I'm sure you can see, weaning and readiness for it is another one of my 'things' along with BFing so any questions you have I'll try and answer.
I'll leave potty training to denny!
DP has been a love tonight, buying me a bottle of rose, some white green &blacks and some green&blacks cookies to make me feel better about no sleep.
I may fake no sleep next time I get a good night

VictorianSqualor · 18/06/2008 22:20

Scorpio, do you still have your leaflet that says about fluc?
BfN have taken it off their site, apparently daktarin is no longer suggested for babies under 4 months, so they've had t remove it but I knwo someone that needs fluc on MN.

PeachyWontLieToYou · 18/06/2008 22:41

AAAARggghhhh

had a call from head earlier they'd given DS3 milk by mistake

He's poo'd all over the place (milk gives him diarrhoea)

He's been clean 3 weeks, so really sad

LadyBee · 18/06/2008 22:44

howdy all!

found the thread - Love the title

Ladybee - what a cutie!!! Love the babygym mat - we have that one too

Livi is doing well - so not much to report ... except that she has her second lot of injections today AND DD1 has to come too as the only appointment I could get is 3.30pm .

Hope all are well and I try to keep (slightly) up to date by reading through messages once or twice a week (too busy to do more - I don't know how you guys do it!!).

xtmp

Scampmum · 19/06/2008 08:59

4oz! and only had to stop as DD2 fussing. And that's having fed at 5.30 . I keep dreaming of getting the mat nurse to do all night but my boobs will surely explode if I do.

Last night we were up 2.25-2.55 (and for about 10 mins at 1.30 - she seems to start yelling periodically about an hour before she actually wants feeding - maybe I should feed her then in her sleep?), and then from 4.30 till 6.20 and only dozed after that as she was pretty unhappy. The gripe water sadly has been very difficult to administer - maybe I was lucky the night before or maybe she was a bit put off by DH's overzealous squirting of the syringe last night which resulted in her choking, panic calls to NHS Direct and me not going to bed until after 10.30. I did it again at 5.30 this am but not sure if that was because she now has negative associations with the taste (it can't be MY fault, oh no ).

She's now calmed down for the first time since 4.30... but only because she's just done an enormous poo, in a clean nappy, clean babygro, tight swaddle. Hmm. I have to change it, don't I? I thought that might be what was bothering her - her last proper poo was Monday.

TMP - our jabs are going to be with DD1 too (they are Tues next week and we have BCG on Thurs ). Think DD1 will be more upset than DD2 and probably vying with me! She doesn't half love her little sister.

Are you in London? Also calling MOLLY and SUZEM for LONDON MEET UP NEXT WEDS 25TH

Just had a quick skim as running off, but wanted to say thanks for letting me moan last week.

Peachy, I am for you - I know how you feel a bit - I wish I had stuck to my guns and been braver about the bf in the face of the madwives pressure, but I wasn't and now she is totally bottle-fed cos my milk supply was all buggered up. Tbh it was one of the reasons I've not been on here for a while cos I felt like such a failure for only managing to bf her for 6 weeks, and that only partially. But does not make me a bad mum, and nor are you. Though I do appreciate how rotten it feels, as for about 2 days I sobbed whenever I had to give her bottle so know how you feel. But Bas is doing great and you are great Mum and will all be fine.

Scorpio - does Millie sleep through? Gosh.

Molly went off at 8.30 til 4 last night, and then again til 7 (with a few interuptions). THis is VERY good for her and have a feeling it may be a fluke!

scorpio1 · 19/06/2008 10:07

Ellie - you are a sausage Don't be silly, however you feed Molly we still love you! Good news on the sleep last night. Millie goes 10ish-7ish every night.

VS - Yes i do; email me your address and i will send it tomorrow with a ton of ebay stuff.

scorpio1 · 19/06/2008 10:09

Peachy - poor boy, how is he now?

scorpio1 · 19/06/2008 10:45

Oh and we are going to Truro to look at Stokke Sleepi on the weekend....Still haven't told dh how much but really need to find out if dc4 is on the cards - i can only justify it IF it is i think.

I suppose i could say but you're going to Norway and i havent had anything (sob, wail)

Oh yes DH is going to Norway for mates wedding 2 weeks today. for 4 days

Niceychops · 19/06/2008 10:54

I'm so tired I can't remember how many times I am up a night. About 3 I think. Are some of yours sleeping through, bloody hell. Gin in the gripe water??

Niceychops · 19/06/2008 10:54

Mum2BabyRoo · 19/06/2008 11:07

Well I am hoping this isn't fluke and will continue as I'm loving the extra sleep. Gigi is sleeping really well - 10 - 4 and then 4 - 7, sometimes 8/9am. Has a bottle a 4am then goes right back to sleep! Touch wood it will stay like this now!

Love the Stokke Sleepi Scorpio. And I think you will get it - you have a solid arguement - and you could point out that it isn't even for you!!

I want to completly redecorate the nursery. DH isn't letting me though... boo

Scampmum · 19/06/2008 11:08

I know how you feel, Niceychops - sometimes it's morning and I have no idea how I got there apart from that it wasn't via a route of gentle slumber.

Scorpio - no, no, no. The cot is for the CHILDREN. Norway is for DH and therefore on the other side of that you get something for YOU. Why don't you look for cots that are loads more expensive (are there any?), pretend you want them and then he might be relieved it's not as much...

I have booked myself in to salon for the works......

scorpio1 · 19/06/2008 11:11

i think i will go and see it and then decide. all of them on ebay are pick-up from london

Scampmum · 19/06/2008 11:11

Great minds, M2BR...

Oh, forgot to say [hollow laugh] to the person who thought Molly's beautiful nursery was mine! DD2 being a NSC (neglected second child) has a bedroom but it is currently full of 1) a box of DH's crap important stuff still not sorted from our move 10 months ago 2) a futon mattress and futon base (not together) 3) piles of baby clothes/items i.e. all the lovely hand-me-downs she is in line for.

We are going to watch the Antiques Roadshow being filmed in a bit! Don't have any antiques but thought it might be fun. Also might take in something crap as a joke but doubt I could keep a straight face.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 19/06/2008 11:13
