thanks mhc....but she wasn't quite so cute when she was screaming for over an hour and a half in the wee small hours of the morning!

We went to Pizza Express and I am stuffed full of salad, fruit and ice-cream. DD ate two of those little dough balls that they have, then a full kiddy sized portion of pasta followed by strawberries and ice cream! DH and I were gob-smacked by how much she packed away.....and then she guzzled nearly 6oz of milk as soon as we got home Methinks a wee growth spurt is happening!

Glad you are feeling better Norty.

and how are the knees mhc? and the essay?

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2008 20:18

oh norty...missed the bit about DD's cold, poor love .

We're all full of it here as well.

OP posts:
justRia · 20/06/2008 20:24

would it be wrong to lock the boys in the garden til they stop fighting?

Is it very lax to give baggins "a lick round the moon" and no bath.

I am drained as it seems to be my turn to be on the receiving end of DMs disapproval.

Hooray DH home. PHEW.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 20/06/2008 20:31

Sorry about DD's cold Norty. And DS's knees MHC, and your woes Ria.

Jamlet ate loads when we took her to Pizza Express last week - i wonder if they add something addictive to children to their food?

lackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2008 20:33

ria....babyboo only gets a bath/showeer once a week ...and she doesn't always get a "lick around the moon" either.

I'm of the opinion that unless they are black from digging in the garden or rolling in mud/spag bol, babies are fairly self cleaning

MHC

lackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2008 20:42

mhc, my sister takes glucosamine and cod liver oil for her joints. would they help you?

Gah, the new totty on Gardener's World is an annoying mare? she is referring to all the plants in the first person....nutter.

I love Gardener's World..or at least I did before I started growing my own veg....now it just makes me feel bloody inadequate as my veg isn't nearly as good looking as theirs

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2008 20:43

OK, I'm meant to be walking 11 miles tomorrow morning, so better go get things ready so that I can make the early start I need.

lackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2008 20:55

eleven jammy...that's impressive! is this your last big distance before the walk itself or will you get a longer one in before the event?

the only thing doing well really in our garden is our mystery cucurbit which could be pumpkin or butternut squash. They are popping up all over the place as they're in the compost. I've laso got some rogue tomato plants from the compost as well. Obviosly being in the compost heap for two years has made them super resilient.

If we get a few bits of veg we'll be happy, and then I'll be wiser and more experienced next year and maybe get things in the ground earlier...and buy a cold frame for the courgettes.

i think it's cos they're down south.....much more clement weather. I notice a difference even from Fife to here in the growing season. Our daffs etc are always out before my mum's were.

are your iron levels OK mhc...I think anaemia can cause joint pain as well...but don't quote me on that. Did you get tested for coeliac disease?

happy birthday to your DSs for tomorrow andie and fury

Pizza Express now do bambinoccinos for kids...a coffee-less cappucino. DS thought he was sooooo grown up with his little espresso cup of milk froth with chocolate

I didn't lock them in the garden and I did bath them all. Then I had to race to the shop before it shut for wine and nasty synthetic maize onion ring snacks (and I bought a vastly reduced chicken that had "been fed a vegetairian diet")

I agree with the "down south" aspect of gardening. HFW has much more advance (ie, ready to eat) plants than us,though we were late with this veg gardening thing. We will have leeks and I hope my dahlias will thrive, but the lettuce isn 't doing well at all.

Good luck with your walk jammy. Are you going alone? Lucky you...

lackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2008 22:29

a vegetarian diet...wtf?

OI FOXY.....stop getting inflamed by the less than subtle trolling going on tonight and come and talk to us
