Sounds like you've got your work cut out Norty! We had 3 rooms decorated before the jamlet arrived (though only just as FIL was still putting up shelving in her room the day she was born!) and I remember standing half way up a step ladder plastering in a channel where we'd had some electric cabling chased into the wall at about 7 months pregnant - much to my Dad's horror! Being heavily pregnant a good tool for getting workmen to bring your job forward I found - they didn't want to risk being in your house when you went into labour

DKMA · 15/06/2008 20:27

Hey Norty / Jammy

What the feck am I going to do all evening?
DH is watching the GOLF all night (until 3am)!!!!

Football is boring enough but GOLF jeezzzz talk about watching paint dry!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/06/2008 20:33

In his previous job, DH was involved in making a CD rom about paint drying

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/06/2008 20:34

And sympathies about the golf, DKMA. You could go have a luxurious long soak, or get into a good book, or witter on with us???

DKMA · 15/06/2008 20:41

Think I might have just said too much on here
Why do I have to say my bit? When will I learn? Oh well!

andiem · 15/06/2008 20:43

evening all

happy birthday to sg's lo and to baby sputnik

got back from camping about 3 hours ago and have just finished sorting all the stuff out. Had a lovely time saw lots of foals and the sun shone
lo had a great time crawling in and out of the tent and watching all the activity but I am knackered

sg ds1 always runs up and shuts his door if ds2 is going up the stairs lots of lego about

right off to bed will catch up properly tomorrow

andiem · 15/06/2008 20:49

dkma I almost posted the same sort of comment
it was the I asked him to change the nappy while I had a fag that made me go
good on yer girl braver than me

lackaDAISYcal · 15/06/2008 20:52

glad you had a good weekend andie. I'm looking forward to taking DD camping, but can imagine how exhausting it will be!

DKMA, I never get involved on AIBUs now. If I feel I have to say something, it;s either YABU or YANBU and then I move swiftly on

Lol at you telling her to give up the fags though!

DKMA · 15/06/2008 21:04

Oh Daisy - I'm crying laughing at that thread

DKMA · 15/06/2008 21:06

Thanks for the support re - give up yer fags woman comment like it's anything to do with me but was feeling brave!

lackaDAISYcal · 15/06/2008 21:22

looks like the OP has scarpered. Obviously past his bedtime

I saw a man leaning over a pram today and blowing smoke in the direction of his newborn looking baby . I nearly said something, especially as he was standing right outside the entrance of where we were going so everyone got to breathe his smoke.

and I'm an ex-smoker myself, but FGS, it's a kiddy tourist attraction.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 15/06/2008 21:25

must admit, since giving up smoking myself at 12 weeks pg, I've turned into a right anti-smoker....especially where DD is concerned...made me smile.....change her nappy so I can have a fag ...and then slung him out ....

lackaDAISYcal · 15/06/2008 21:35

there no non smoker worse than an ex-smoker norty

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 15/06/2008 21:41

That is so true and they really used to piss me off when I was a smoker

DH getting very excited in the front room over the footie...and Scotland aren't even in it

Then TV gets turned over to the golf [yawn]

I'm off for an early night - night all x

DKMA · 15/06/2008 21:44

Yep - the golf is on here too might have a bath

Don't need an early night as I've booked tomorrow off work

I've got a showjumping lesson at 3pm - I'm shitting it

lackaDAISYcal · 15/06/2008 21:46

me too...I've had far too many late nights recently.

some herbal tea and a bit of Joanne Harris methinks......or the review of double buggies in M&B magazine

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 15/06/2008 21:46

good luck with the showjumping DKMA

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 15/06/2008 21:46

Already read that review Daisy

Good luck DKMA for tomorrow (sod that!)

Night x

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/06/2008 21:55

I'm off too.

I've just found a library book that was due back months ago. They had notified me it was outstanding and I'd hunted twice for it and was all ready to go and pay up for a lost book tomorrow. Now I can avoid that financial penalty, but not the shame of having so many piles of clutter it takes this long to find a book

lackaDAISYcal · 16/06/2008 10:06

Aaaaargh...it's going to be one of those days today. DD is into everything and I can't get anything done. We were in the garden earlier as I was checking on the crops and then had a pile of nappies to hang out. DD was footling around in the garden. Realised she was eating something and she has been under the holly tree eating all the unripe beries that have fallen off. Not sure how many she has eaten, but she is drooling a lot, but NHS direct said she's unlikely to have eaten enough to do any damamge, although they are quite toxic in high amounts. So have given her milk and am wating for any other symptoms...nausea, vomiting, diahorrea. She is pulling at her tummy but not sure if that's cos of her itchy skin or cos her tummy is sore.

I can't turn my back on her for a second, although to be fair she had been ferreting around under the tree (there are garden toys there) for about 10 min with only sideways glances from me .

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 16/06/2008 10:07

....and why do they eat things that obviously don't taste nice....like soil and bark and sand and cat food????? why?????

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 16/06/2008 10:13

I've had an email back from the M&B testing lady. She had been sending the emails in batches and was putting them as blind copies, but didn't with my batch and only realised as she pressed the send button that it was too late! Here's hoping that everyone on the list is genuine and won't be selling the names to unsavoury phishing/spamming types

OP posts:
Seansgirlthesequel · 16/06/2008 10:52

I don't know Daisy why they like to eat all that stuff either... i was wondering that when Ds shovelled sand in his mouth sfor the 5th time yesterday. And why does he always want to dig around in the plant pots that have slug pellets it?????

Seansgirlthesequel · 16/06/2008 10:54

Happy Birthday baby Tallulahbelle
