Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bluebell82 · 06/06/2008 13:06

hello ladies I have requested you as friends on facebook but not put my mumsnet id!!! I am Rebecca Jones just incase you aree wondering who this crazy person is!

mixedmama · 06/06/2008 13:38

bluebell... I have accepted you and WOW if you have concieved already.

I am waiting (hopefully) until DS1 is 5 and DS2 is 3 so they will both be at school and some sort of playgroup / nursery altho depending on finances etc maybe when they are 4 and 2 concieving then they will be nearly 5 and 3. DH is not convinced about having another one tho...but i think i def would have no more than 3 so really wanna go for the third and maybe we will have a girl... altho i am prepared for a boy and would love a 3rd boy, i love referring to them as my boys.... but feel like if we dont have 3 we sort of miss out on ever knowing if it was our fate/destiny/kismet to have a girl. Now to convince DH.

fillybuster · 06/06/2008 14:48

Bluebell - yup, Tamara has now discovered the power of a scream and yells blue murder if we leave the room or if she's put on her playmat/in her bouncy chair when she wants to be held or doing something else.... DS started doing the same thing at about this age and it took 6 months for him to grow out of it...hopefully we're not about to go through that again....

LuckySalem · 06/06/2008 16:08

Bluebell - Yep we've got that. DD has also started to "cough" - Which I'm sure is cos she's worked out that she's picked up if she coughs. There's nothing there though, have checked a few times.

Just thought I'd let everyone know i'm an Avon lady - Don't spose anyone wants anything do they? [hopeful]

Aaliyah has 2 meals a day now but i'm worrying i'm confusing her as i'm not giving them to her at specific times. EG: She has breakfast when she gets up which can be anytime between 6-8. She has lunch sometime between 2-6. Should I be being more strict?? Also anyone giving solid food? (carrot sticks etc?) I'm slightly worried she'll choke - although did give her a carrot stick today which she sucked a little then threw on the floor. lol

Naetha · 06/06/2008 18:34

Ben has worked out as well that if he does a poo just as I'm putting him down for a nap I have to spend quality time and change him - little buggers aren't they!

Amani · 06/06/2008 21:36

Hi all,

Hope you all are well. Just a quicky - been having a bit of a hard time with DD2 for the past week, hence have not been on. I've been spending my 'internet time' napping instead. DD2 been waking every night at 2am and not going to sleep until 5am - not sure if it is the teething or the eczema but she has been scratching her face very badly and waking herself up and then not settling at all. Her night routine has now become:
8pm: sleep
12am: milk and takes half an hour to sleep
2am - 5am: wake herself up by itching, little milk, very unsettled, sleep around 5am
6am: wake her self up with the itching
8am: wakes herself up with the itching and my day begins...

LuckySalem · 06/06/2008 21:38

Oh Amani - That sounds terrible. Have you been back to the doctors? DD went through a terrible stage with her eczema and the docs gave her some better cream (can't remmeber the name now) cleared it up. Hydro......something.

Amani · 06/06/2008 21:39

Mixedmama - can't believe you are thinking about a 3rd. I've found having 2 really challenging and that's enough to put me off from having more.

Lucky - think carrot sticks aren't suitable until the teeth come though....(I think) My DD2 has lunch at 12pm and dinner around 6pm. Haven't introduced breakfast as yet...

Amani · 06/06/2008 21:40

Lucky - yeah we've got hydrocortoson (sp?) and been told to use it sparingly as it quiet strong, it soothes the itching temporarliy only though...not a cure

LuckySalem · 06/06/2008 21:41

THAT'S IT... - Oh it cleared DD's up.

Go back then cos I know our docs was suggesting some kind of steroid cream but she couldn't have it till she was 5 months old.

Also try swaddling her so she can't itch it. Chances are she's just absent mindedly scratching in her sleep, upsetting it and then waking herself up as it gets worse.

madmouse · 06/06/2008 21:52

Amani, the reason why you have to use the stuff sparingly is because it thins the skin, baby skin more so than adult I suppose.

Bluebell, thanks for clarifying it is you! (Had already confirmed you by the way! Notice that I will not live a million miles away from you (other side of Coventry) from the 17th. Maybe we should have a Midlands meet-up?

LuckySalem · 06/06/2008 21:57

Oh oh!! I could maybe do a midlands meet!! Oh oh [hand in air] Please miss!!

Amani - Use the hydrocortisone and let it soak in, then get your diprobase (which should be the other cream you have) and put that on once the hydrocortisone has worked it's thing. Wrap her up, put her bed and then go to bed yourself!!

justkeepswimming · 07/06/2008 21:04

hi all, just checking in before going to bed. watching the end of lost and trying to stay awake for the last 10 mins...will be glad when it's over tbh.

love weekends when dh is home and i get to go back to bed in the mornings

still not enough sleep here, same old, same old. one day, hey?!

off for a 3k walk in the morning - meant to be a fun run but we are all walking/riding in buggies
meant to be a training thing for my 13mile walk in july, eek, not sure i'm fit enough to manage it yet.
tho i have, finally, started to lose some weight, hooray

right, it's over, have just calculated that i have wasted at least 35hours of my life!! (the first series was worth it!)
ok, nite all xx

susiemj · 08/06/2008 12:52

Hi guys,

I am on absolute tenterhooks this weekend as by best friend was induced on Saturday morning. The MWs said not to expect a baby before Monday but it's all I can think about!

So, if I don't post on here, it's because I'm thinking, 'How is she? How is she? How is she?'

Just wanted to share a squeal with you!

mixedmama · 08/06/2008 13:46

nicky6 · 08/06/2008 17:33

having finally sorted the vanda date 24th - i may now have to go and do a written test for work but not quite sure yet which day it will be but 24th looks most likely - anyway will see. could jks filly and ginge could you all do the 23rd as well as i know it wont be that day??

All fine here charlie cold better - not really thinking abut solids here yet charlie seems quite happy with milk so going to wait another month i think but might start getting organised and freezing a few little cubes of veggies - how long can theykeep frozen??

went to the ballet last night dh mum babysat and put charlie to bed i was quite worried - she ignored a number of the things i asked her to do but all was fine really.

must go - have a mad busy week ahead!!

mixedmama · 08/06/2008 20:07

Thats grannys for you Nicky. Was the ballet good. I have never been but would love to it is on my list of things to do, but with me it is finding the people to do it with as my DH is not really into trying new things, if he thinks he wont like it he wont do it. He did take me to see Evita after moaning and moaning tho but then he did moan most of the way thru aswell.

madmouse · 08/06/2008 20:53

Hi all

You remember I went to the baby cafe to have my breastfeeding checked on Wednesday? Well Nathan is still feeding like the clappers and dh and I are marvelling at how heavy he feels, how round his tummy is and that his wrists have gone fatter. In a week . So susie, it may work for you too, but it is normal for Sabela to feed for a shorter time, as she is more experienced than she was as a newborn. The trouble with Nathan was that he simply did not seem to be taking that much!

I think we have reached acute teething stage. Was a bit unsettled today, cried more etc, and in the afternoon got those webby red cheeks and woke absolutely screaming from his nap, even gave him some calpol. Settled happily after his evening feed though. H wants to chew incessantly and drools so bad that it makes him cough and he has a runny nose too. The little lump on his gum is now red. How long until the tooth?

Lucky, could you come to Birmingham for a meetup? Bluebell? Anyone else? Not before mid-July though.

LuckySalem · 08/06/2008 21:20

Yep I could come birmingham. As long as I can persuade DP that your not a bunch of loons trying to steal his daughter.

I can't come until at least the 21st July. I can't do tues, weds or thurs. Apart from that i'm good.

I've just started a PFB thread all about how clever aaliyah is! lol

LuckySalem · 08/06/2008 21:22

Oh forgot to add, MM glad nathan is feeding better.

gingeme · 08/06/2008 21:35

Evening ladies. Have had a sleep deprived weekend. Won't go into details just to say I'm knackered. Will be going to bed as soon as Ive finnished this post.
Nicky6 can't do 23rd as we will be at my parents sorry.
George is realy enjoying his solids now. Been having some interesting colours of pooh too
Going to re paint the boys room on Wednesday. Only going over whats already there so to speak.
Apart from that nothing else much happening.
Hope you are all well.
Goodnight

Naetha · 09/06/2008 11:29

Can someone explain to Ben that there is a time and a place to try and learn to crawl, however his cot, over 3 hours since he woke up isn't that time!!!

He is so nearly there, and I believe he would have crawled already if he'd take his fist out of his mouth!

LuckySalem · 09/06/2008 11:53

Good going Ben!!

gingeme · 09/06/2008 11:58

lol hey Ben your Mum says wait till shes up and about before you practise your crawling!
Did he listen?

nicky6 · 09/06/2008 12:01
