Hi everyone! Susie, poor Sabela Lucky - sypathies on the screaming. Naetha - good luck on the job front, and I do agree with some of the advice on your other thread that its probably better to try and sort it out through your boss than going via HR, which is bound to cause future resentment. Gingeme - hope your boys aren't going though another phase of passing colds over and over to one another! JKS - fingers crossed that the good sleep continues

Wow, had loads more to say, and its all flown out of my head. Am knackered as sleep schedule seems to be totally random - Tana woke at 11, 1, 3, 6 and 8 the other night, and had done a poo three of those times . She seems to be better today after some calpol - think she had major teething pains as she lunged for my finger and then chomped on it (with growling sound effects ) tootling off to bed now - desperate for sleep.

madmouse · 04/06/2008 21:18

Hi guys

Last meetup with my pals and their babies today as we are moving on soon and so are they bar one whose husband still has another year to go at college. We put all five babies on the sofa in starbucks and made pictures

Also went to the breast feeding cafe on the advice of my hv to have latch checked etc. Came away with a complete overhaul of our technique, basically I was still feeding him like the newborn he no longer is, on a cushion, he was not active enough when feeding and that is .probably why he goes to sleep all the time (too comfy ) Since leaving the cafe at 2pm we have had three good feeds and I feel more confident again.

Frag, I hate nights like that, they make me soooo tired. Put Nathan wide awake in his cot this evening so have been to and fro for the last hour+. It seems he has gone down now. It is good to teach independent sleeping, but hard work too

susiemj · 04/06/2008 21:29

OOooo MM - that's interesting about the feeding. I'm still feeding like that. I have been noticing that she feeds for a shorter time now. Maybe I'll go for an 'overhaul' too.

Sympathy Fagloina - nights like that just wear you down.

Sabela seems ok now. Just a bit 'fragile' LEt's see how the night goes.

gingeme · 04/06/2008 21:40

Good evening ladies. I flicked through and have forgotten everything
George has a terrible cough has been waking him at night though his waking for feeds has gone back down to once again though now hes eating more in the day its usualy combined with a smelly nappy too.
Can I ask about the babys having third lot of jabs how old thay are now? George is 5 months on the 10th, blimey where did that go? and Im sure he should be having his by now.
I have had a very busy day today. I had a mega spring clean of all my kitchen cupboards. Got loads of crockery and cutlery and plastic cups and a juicer and a tea pot and allsorts to take to the charity shop on Saturday. Feels so good. Went to the park this afternoon with the boys and my necks feeling a little sore from the sun.
I have now written the 24th on my calender for our meet up. Have we decided a time?
I saw 5 women at the park today in the cafe all with babys about 3 months old. I said to dh 'I wonder if theyre mumsnetters?'.
Well Im totaly knackered. Can't believe I suggested swimming tommorrow.
Off to bed soon.
Night all xxx

fillybuster · 04/06/2008 22:58

24th at 11 sounds good I'm going to be brave and venture out of NW London with a baby in tow for the first time since Tamara was born....if I'm not there its because the traffic/London Transport/map reading have defeated me en-route ....

OK, off to bed...hugs to all and wishing you all good nights

xxx

fillybuster · 04/06/2008 23:02

fillybuster · 04/06/2008 23:04

Ahem ...just reloaded that page and now there's lots of info...sorry......obviously waaaay past my bedtime....

AngeChica · 05/06/2008 07:49

Well we have just had DS's best night ever - only woke at 3.45 and then up at 7.30.

However the @!?* dog woke us at 2.30 crying to go out. He only does this when he has eaten something particularly foul and it upsets his tummy.

Anyway after that I could not get back to sleep, it was hot, I opened the window and the dawn chorus drove me nuts. So feel just as shattered as usual today .

Looks like another gorgeous warm day up here. Loving putting DS in his little shorts suits!

Gingeme DS had his jabs at 9, 13 and 17 weeks they are always combined with baby clinic at our surgery and they write to you with the appointments.

susiemj · 05/06/2008 09:34

Gingeme - yup - Sabela's just had hers and she's 5 months. And they were late.

gingeme · 05/06/2008 11:11

Morning ladies.
Lol filly glad you found what you were looking for in the end.
Funny enough got a letter for Georges jabs this morning .
Feel like crap today. Come on this morning with avengance plus my throat is red raw. Dh has a temp of 104 and a raw throat too. George still has his horrid cough. Doesnt stop his eating though
Nothing planned today. Just a take it easy day today though I have just scrubbed Georges new toy that came from Ebay yesterday. Its a Graco Entertainer. You know one of those things you sit them in with toys all round them? Can't wait for it to dry off so we can put him in.
Well have a good day all whatever your doing.
xx

Fragolina · 05/06/2008 12:13

Very quick questions triggered by gingeme's post about scrubbing toys. Lots of Tana's toys are the soft kind with lots of crinkly/dangly/mirror bits (if that makes any sense), and they are almost all not meant to be submerged in water. I have been giving them a wipe with a wet cloth every so often, but don't think this is really doing the job, especially as they are usually either in her mouth or thrown on the floor.

Also Tana's been vomiting quite a bit, thought it had calmed down, but that was short=lived. At her 11am feed today, she was hugely sick about three times, but kept wanting to latch on again afterwards, so was sill hungry . Plus her poos are greenish and runny. No temperature though and doesn't seem too out of sorts....do I need to take her to the GP? What could it be - tummy upset? Greensih poss have been going on for a good week now, should I be concerned? I'm sure I read somewhere that this is a sign of something not right, but asked HV and she dismissed it....maybe I'm just being an overanxious first-timer!

gingeme · 05/06/2008 13:45

Frag all soft toys I stick in the washing machine once a month despite what it says on the label. You might lose a few squeaks in some but sometimes that not such a bad thing try to air dry them rather than tumble dry. I have a heating cupboard where I put them over night and they are dry next day.
Plastic toys buy some Milton wipes and wash then all down when you can (or when you remember in my case) These are good for dummies too when your out and about.
HTH.
Re sickness. No idea about bf sickness but going by my friend who bf her 3 for a good year or more keep an eye on what your eating and see what upsets baby. Her first daughter is allergic to quite alot of stuff and when she was a baby she had to do quite alot of runs to hospital because of this fact. Don't want to scare you but if it goes on too long it might be worth you mentioning this to your gp.

susiemj · 05/06/2008 13:53

Fragolina - I've hand washed all my cloth rattles and they're fine. I had to shake them a bit to get the water out of the rattley bit.

Sorry you're feeling poorly Gingeme. I hope you DO get a relaxing day.

bluebell82 · 05/06/2008 17:48

hello ladies, think I may be switching back to the antenatal thread shortly...! absolutely positive I have just had an implantation bleed, ovulated 4 days ago so back on the two week wait!! Secretly got my fingers crossed- am I crazy ... probably just wishful thinking!

madmouse · 05/06/2008 18:00

bluebell
as long as you are happy!

susiemj · 05/06/2008 19:03

Wow Bluebell! Fingers crossed you crazy lady!
Can I just ask - are you still bf?

fillybuster · 05/06/2008 19:57

Hi all...slightly stressful day, mainly cos Tamara has a horrible hacking cough and a stinking cold and is really miserable and not her normal happy self. In addition ds1 and me are both definitely under the weather as well, so we were all in...ahem...'challenging' moods today. Of course I then tried to achieve too much today and got totally stressed when everything ran late....sadly, dh is stuck at work on a big case and tells me he wont be home for hours. Have finally got both kids to bed (altho ds1 is whinging for his daddy and Tamara is coughing away), so I think its time for a large glass of wine and a hot bath.......because I'm worth it ...xxx

gingeme · 05/06/2008 21:30

filly welcome to my world
bluebell. Even I don't work that fast well done and good luck to you and dh

LuckySalem · 05/06/2008 21:32

Bluebell - I thought DP was nuts asking me to start for another after 9 months!! lol. Hope everything is ok with you.

LuckySalem · 05/06/2008 22:03

Well DP is annoying me now. We had agreed he'd go to bed for a couple of hours so he can stay up tonight ready for work tomorrow night (if your confused - dont worry cos I am too) now he was meant to be getting up at 6pm. He's still in bed and i'm starving!!

madmouse · 05/06/2008 22:06

Lucky I can't believe you waited so long before eating. Go make yourself something!

LuckySalem · 05/06/2008 22:07

I'm gonna in a minute. I was looking forward to him cooking me something nice as i'm not a good cook. But looks like i'm gonna have to have tinned curry and chips again.

nicky6 · 05/06/2008 22:16

bluebell been thinking the same myself and period late but i think i am coming on sorry if tmi which i have to say i am quite pleased about as wanted to wait a few more months

Wherabouts in nw london do you live? probably jubilee line to green park and change on to picadilly a couple of stops to south ken 5 min walk. There is parking around south ken but quite expensive.

sorry to hear others not well too - really knocks things for six eh

bluebell82 · 06/06/2008 10:45

hi susie I stopped bf 2 weeks ago when Ruby was 17 weeks, I came on the very next day! Nightmare! I was going to mix feed but with Ruby i had to be all or nothing she is very strong willed and would just hold out until I would give in and give her my boob!

Has anyone elses little one started screaming when you leave the room now? Ruby doesn't cry she just screams which is amusing but also the first couple of times I have panicked there has been something more sinister wrong1 Clever little beans aren't they!
