Afternoon ladies.
Had a tricky night with George last night. He woke at 2.30 which he has never done befedrained a bottle then slept till 6 which killed me as it a total change to his routine. I put a cot bumper in his cot last night too cau he keeps getting his legs stuck through the bars. Found him this morning chewing on the corner and smiling away at me little monkey!
madmouse sorry to be ignorant but what learning difficuly are you looking for with Nathan exactly? Just being nosey

Hi guys,

Just popping in as have visitors for the next 2 weeks. Nice but exhausting.

I know Gingeme - when you're not expecting it it's awful. Sabela's been a good sleeper until recently so this bad patch has knocked me for six. I hope George's antics were a one-off.

Glad things are getting better Lily. They are here too. I can't believe how quickly we've got Sabela to bed the last two nights. And no crying either. It took me 8 minutes after feeding the first night and about 2 minutes last night> I actually sat by the cot thinking 'this can't be true' but it was! No Cry SLeep Solution is FAB. [...Cue the whole thing going tits up ...] seriously though. She's also sleeping better. last two nights roughly 9-1.30 - 5.30 - 7.30. I can handle that, although the last bit is very on and off sleeping in bed.

Hopefully the effects will get progressively better. There are more steps to take but I'm going to let this bit settle in first.

Sorry. Boring!

Hello JKS, Mixedmama, Lucky [good luck with hair], Simpson and MrsBaker.

Does anyone know if Bluebell was pregnant?

susiemj · 03/07/2008 16:56

How could I forget you Madmouse? Hello!

lilyloo · 03/07/2008 17:05

Susie Tchibo highchair in stock mine arrived and it's fab dd loves it !

OP posts:
simpson · 03/07/2008 18:34

lilyloo - glad you like your highchair keep nagging DH to get it out of loft. Before I bought tchibo highchair bought plastic cheapo one from argos for £15 so am using that at the moment. DD still not stong enough for tchibo one yet I think.

Gingeme - I hope I am not in for a bad night. DD has gone from 6/6.30 till 5/6am for at least 6/7 wks so big shock to the system to be up with her. She only took 3 ozs this evening so we will have to see.

She is getting harder to feed again and keeps pulling off teat moving head from side to side, defo not wind. Is it possible a baby can get bored of just milk?

Hello everyone else - Lucky how did appt go?

simpson · 03/07/2008 18:36

Susie - forgot to say glad No cry sleep solution seems to be working. I know exactly what you mean about saying something is working though as if you are tempting fate for tonight!! Fingers X

LuckySalem · 03/07/2008 19:58

so what dya think?

perapera · 03/07/2008 20:12

hi everyone

haven't been around for a while because of a sudden visitor (a friend gave us one day's notice and then stayed for FIVE days and we live in a one-bedroom flat!)

We are still struggling with the sleep thing here - it seems like most of the babies are sleeping through now...is that right? DD is still waking several times a night - I'm usually only feeding once, but sometimes twice, and anyway she still wakes up even when she's not hungry. One problem is that she's often not unhappy when she wakes up (that sounds really bad - I don't mean I want her to be unhappy!) but if she wakes up crying, then I can comfort her and rock her back to sleep, but if she wakes up happily blowing LOUD bubbles then I have no idea what to do. The result is that neither me nor DP is getting much sleep at all...yawn.

I'm hoping weaning might make a difference, although I'm planning to do BLW, so it might all be a bit slow.

I would LOVE to sleep for more than three hours in a row!

perapera · 03/07/2008 20:15

I just realised I just typed selfishly all about myself and didn't say to everyone else how much it helps reading about all your experiences. DD was born on 30 Jan so she is about the youngest here, so you're all a bit ahead of me, so that's another reason why it's all really useful.

I don't post very much but I read loads, so thank you everyone!

perapera - had same problem with DD last night. She was singing, cooing, generally talking to herself VERY loudly.Went on for over 2hrs. Then she feel asleep for 30 mins then woke again needing feeding. Woke up whole household. Don't want to go in to her unless she cries.Boo hiss to visitor!

Lucky - looking good!! Love the colours. How much did you get taken off length? Sorry can't remember how long it was before.

gingeme · 03/07/2008 20:20

Thats what were here for perapera Hope the sleeping sorts itself real soon.
Lucky lovely

simpson · 03/07/2008 20:21

Perapera - my DD born on 29th Jan. You did not sound me me me at all!!

justkeepswimming · 03/07/2008 20:32

i like it lucky - tho you are braver on colours than i would be

yes ds2 was up happy at 5am today -got dh to take him away for a bit, tho i was worried he would wake ds1, he didn't and ds1 made it to nearly 7am!! that's a breakthrough for him, and that was somewhere strange too.

i am fine thanks well, not really but getting on with it.
i almost totally lost my voice yesterday, then lost the plot with ds1 after he threw a car at my head and i couldn't even shout at him! and ds2 was crying and no-one would eat anything for lunch, and i gave in and gave ds2 some baby porridge on a spoon, and i was feeling crap, etc.etc.

met up with friends and ds1 showed himself to be a runner-awayer as per usual

today i woke up with a killer headache so had to get some neurofen on the way back to the park - tried to find a shop in central london selling buckets and spades but no luck! ironic given that we live in southend really! - got peed on, but managed to stay out for a picnic lunch, then home with dh.
ds1 even ate his tea today, hooray!
ds2 finished off the porridge jar, oh well....

so, good sleep vibes to all babies tonight, fingers crossed.
back tomorrow when ds1 if off to nursery for the day

Amani · 03/07/2008 20:46

hi everyone,

hope u are well, finally sitting down and eating some yummy cart d'or ice cream [yum] - the chocolate one....

parepera - dont worry my DD2 wakes up 1/2 at night still. I believe when she is ready she will sleep through. To be honest I've not slept through the night since Aug 2005 - so it's no big deal for me to get up for her.

lilyloo · 03/07/2008 20:47

JKS ((hugs)) you sound shattered , i hope tonight is a good one for you.

Pera no def not , my lo is nowhere near sleeping through so your not on your own !
I have just started weaning and (whispers had better night) but still 2-3 wakes.

Lucky love it, the colours are fab and you have had loads cut off very brave! What do you think ?

Simpson it's great. She sat at table with us at teatime and i still can't believe i am a mum of 3 She can hold herself quite well but i think it's good as it's quite snug anyway.

Well trying the blw route but think i am going to go more pureeing. I think it's my need for her to sleep more that makes me want to know how much she is eating. Does that make me sound terrible ? Would never dare say it out of here

OP posts:
simpson · 03/07/2008 20:57

lilyloo - am defo going to get DH to put highchair together then. Its in loft with the strap thingie taken out. Am probably remembering it bigger/wider than it actually is!!

Amani - enjoy ice cream, I am working my way through a large pack of twiglets!

JKS - hope tomorrow is a better day for you & you get your voice back.

lilyloo · 03/07/2008 21:13

Simspon dp put it on highest level and dd not sitting up yet but she is fine in it.

Amani enjoy ....

madmouse · 03/07/2008 21:52

lucky that looks fab, yummy mummy here you come

jks - get better soon. any chance of some time in bed?

pera, my Nathan just pips your lo (1 feb) and is also still waking (I am still breastfeeding) he wakes to feed somewhere between 11-12 and 3-4.30. sleeping through is great, but there is too much pressure sometimes (not on this thread!!!). Babies have tiny stomachs and breastmilk digests quickly.

Nathan has sat in his new highchair today (stokke tripp trapp) and likes being at the same height as us during dinner time and he has played with some pieces of cooked carrot. ended up dropping the carrot just before it reached his mouth and then sticking his fingers in instead . he has slept loads today, probably because we finally had a quiet day kicking the leaves.

mixedmama · 04/07/2008 08:33

Morning ladies....

I am looking forward to the weekend.

Made DS2 some purees last night without a blender but spent so long mashing I am hoping it should be fine. I have abandoned BLW as I just dont have the confidence. And also what you said Madmouse (I think it was you) about the making sure they get everything since there is a lot of licking etc. So am back to puree-ing (is that actually a word).

Done some exercise as I didnt have DC and was very pleased with a sweaty me at the end and had a nice bath and read my book - just cant be done with DS1 banging on the bathroom door for the duration.

Today we are going to meet my cousins wife and their daughter, it is her bday but we cant make her little gathering on Sunday so seeing them today she is 2 today so her and DS1 play nicely together.

Tomorrow DC have been invited to a bday party, it is at a bowling alley but I am sure DS1 will love running around, not so sure about the bowling

Sunday we have a wedding, bday party and holiday shoppign to do, so I think we have decided to do hol shopping. Many of the sales have started already - it is crazy.

Big hugs and kisses to you all and your LOs. Lucky I love the hair, it think it really suits.

Kelix · 04/07/2008 10:55

AngeChica - off on a hen night in Newcastle soon. Can you reccomend anywhere? We are staying at the TravelLodge on Quayside

Managed to get a really good sleep last night (11-9 for me DD 9:30-9:30) with only one whinge herd from DD Am glad as she has been waking a little more during the night and after hearing some of the stories on here I was getting a little worried

Anyway feel refreshed this morning so might even go buy myself a new top for going out tonight. DD with my mum tonight so its time for some 'adult' time in more ways than one

mixedmama · 04/07/2008 12:25

Haha Kelix your last sentance made me laugh. Adult time

AngeChica · 04/07/2008 12:45

Kelix. Newcastle gets full of rampant stag and hen parties all year round. I handily got to have my own one there too. Complete with "soldier" .

For my friend's hen we hired a disco fire engine which was amusing.

It depends what you like. I've always been more of a pub lass myself!

It's wall to wall bars down the Quayside and also on the Bigg Market which is a notorious strip of mainly cheesy disco bars ... it's like being in Benidorm - even in December all the girls wear very little etc. It's a faux pas to take a coat out in the Toon even in snow. They're dead hard up here. Clubs wise "Digital" is the best. "Sea" is handy for the Quayside. Not that I do much of that these days. A tip would be to book ahead and get some tickets to avoid all the horrendous queues. NB It's also really difficult to get a taxi at any time!

I like your hair do Lucky!

Happy weekend to all.
