I have another one not sitting or rolling although she spends ALL day trying to!! Has discovered toes so hangs off them and rocks from side to side. God knows how she managed to move last night!! Was planning to do BLW but bought a couple of Ella's kitchen pouches so may try them first. Don't think she will be ready for BLW at 26 wks unless she has MASSIVE growth spurt!!

MrsBakerGirl · 01/07/2008 21:40

Hi all!

Seriously think it is the weather DD has slept through from 10 weeks but had a bad night last night! Daytime sleeps not good either! DS has alwayds mooched from 4ish with eczma and needing dummy and was particularly bad last night!

Simpson - Don't want to get too excited but tried Aptamil for last two feeds today as feeding getting bad again. She caned both and has not done that in months. No tears, stress - it was lovely. God I hope it is not just a coincidence!

Hope you all have a better evening!

simpson · 01/07/2008 22:18

Mrs BakerGirl - glad aptamil MIGHT be working. Have now switched to cow & gate as found out on weaning thread same company own aptamil & c & g so they are supposed to be the same just cater for different ends of the market. DD does not seem to have noticed difference yet although today is day 1. The milk looks exactly the same as aptamil.

This heat is exhausting. DS was covered in loads of sun cream and his face still looks red.

(Simpson goes off to watch rest of BB)

LuckySalem · 02/07/2008 07:48

Well had a horrid night last night with DD (she's another that normally sleeps through) she was up at 1, 3:30 and 5!! Put her in bed with me at 3:30 and she's been kicking the crap outta me all night so have barely slept.

Luckily DP has taken her out for a few hours so I can have some peace. LOL

AngeChica · 02/07/2008 09:52

Morning all, lovely here.

Went to newbies at the cinema yesterday morning. Prince Caspian was quite a long film, DS got quite fed up by the end.

DS was quite wakeful on Monday night - I was so tired I could not stay up til 11 last night so gave him a top up at 10.15, and he's just gone through til 6.30. It's not guaranteed that he'll sleep through like that every night yet but solids have made such a difference. For those with frequent night wakings if your LO is about to hit 6 months anyway, it's worth thinking about? ...although it's entirely your decision of course.

NB I gave him a Petit Filou once and he was really sick after it.

justkeepswimming · 02/07/2008 09:55

well i give up on getting a good nights sleep for now. i've got a bad cough too so my voice is going, great.

both boys sitting in bumbo/chair in front of night garden, absolutely transfixed, so cute. henry keeps checking his big brother is still there next to him, aw.

really having a lazy tv morning so far. getting things ready to go to london but will need to take the boys out for quick walk round the block before lunch - even if they think they want to watch beebies all morning i know they'll get bored...eventually

got steroid cream from doc for henry yesterday, hope it works. plus more diprobase cream. just have to wait for it to calm down now and all the scratches/gouges he's given himself to heal he looks a bit beaten up atm.

(also got an extra prescription for pill from doc so will have loads now!)

lucky - got some rest?

am avoiding BB as long as poss!

justkeepswimming · 02/07/2008 09:56

oh and h had some dry toast this morning, can't think i will last the next few weeks to 6mo without giving in on everything, spoon feeding, dairy, gluten, etc!

anything for more sleep....

lilyloo · 02/07/2008 10:50

Well banana for lunch
cereals for tea and last night .............

She woke up every two hours

justkeepswimming · 02/07/2008 11:10

oh lilyloo
weren't we together on the 16 week growth spurt? so are our LOs having another one?

ds2 was up at 1, 3 & 4.30.
tried to ignore him until 5 when he was getting noisy. fed him for nearly half an hour, was sure he was asleep, put him down, then he whimpered until 6, when he was getting too noisy again, brought him to bed, then ds1 woke anyway.

so another early start for me

been for our (v quick) walk, started to rain so hurried home again, just long enough to get to the sweetie shop and back again!

going for an early lunch then piling them in the car and hopefully they'll both sleep.
supposedly have wifi in london so may be back later

madmouse · 02/07/2008 11:20

Funny night here. Nathan was so tired after bath that he did not eat properly and kept on falling asleep/waking up. dh got him to sleep at around 8.45 (he had ulterior motives - and it was fun )and I thought he would wake again about 10 to fill his tummy, but he stretched it till 12.30!! His night nappy still weighed the same though, so how he does it? Then he woke to feed at 4.30, fell asleep on me so tightly that he took a while waking up when i changed his bum. But then he was wide awake and while I tried to settle him dh started coughing and wheezing (always does that around a house move), so the two of them were awake and noise and I just wanted to scream. To be fair dh took Nathan out and brought him back sleeping, until 6.4o that is, when i had to get up with him to let dh sleep a bit more. eventually we managed another hour then got up feeling bleary.

Received a few letters from work recently, one that I would get a bonus, and one that they had been underpaying me while on maternity leave. So we now have a new tv and I just splashed out on a stokke high chair, the one that adjusts to a normmal chair. So expensive, but it should last 10 years! love it, we both have wanted one for a long time.

quiet day today. what is everyone else up to?

lilyloo · 02/07/2008 11:33

JKS yep that was us think we have been blessed with non sleepers

Yeah my tchibo highchair has just come so will let dp build that tonight!

Nothing much happening here mm just waiting to get dd1 from pre school and was going to go to park as was glorious this am but getting rather cloudy now! Might carry on with ironing, paint my front door or mnet decisions

simpson · 02/07/2008 12:54

Hi all

Had a great lie in this morning as DH is now off work for 4 days and spent time with DCs this morning and got DS to playgroup. He has just gone to pick him up now and DD just waking from nap.

We are going into town this afternoon to pick up DS's bouncy castle from elc.

Sorry to hear about all the bad sleepers.

lilyloo · 02/07/2008 14:45

Well get this dd has just slept from 11.30-2.15
She normally sleeps 30 min longest in day !

Have done loads of cleaning here too LS and am hopeful that her good sleep today might hint at a good night tonight

LuckySalem · 02/07/2008 14:59

Lilly - I hope she sleeps for you but I will tell you DD slept for a good few hours yesterday morning but still ended up driving me crazy all night! Fingers crossed her day out with Daddy will tire her though

fillybuster · 02/07/2008 16:03

Hi all, great to read about everyone's los trying out food We're doing the spoon/purree thing, and Tamara has now had carrot, sweet potato, butternut squash, apple, pear, banana and mango. Mango was the big winner (thanks Barristermum!!) but parsnip today went down quite well too. I've just made up a big batch of apricot puree and another of courgette, pea and basil....all in the freezer looking very sweet in their little ice cubes! Its funny, I remembered making puree being a big faff from ds but this time its this small chore I fit into 5 mins here and there........another of those little things thats a lot easier second time around, I guess Anyway, I have also been offering T those little apple and cinnamon ricecakes, which she enjoys gumming on, so I'm being a bit more finger-y than I was with ds!

for those with poor sleepers, esp Katie, Susie and Lilyloo...thats so hard for you and I have to admit that I'm not sure how I would cope...nowhere near as well as you, that's for sure! Thank goodness T sleeps well - we dropped her 11pm 'dream feed' last night and it made no difference at all - she still went down at 7.30pm and got woken by dh at 8am ...hurrah! Shame ds had me up 3 times in the night....

Um...petits filous...have to admit that brings out the food-sergeant-major in me....I was quite to discover how much sugar is in them and you can't get a sugar free version....anyway, I've just recently started very occasionally buying them for ds (nearly 3) as a special treat but he was quite happy on rachel's organic sugar-free yoghurt until now so I think I'll stick with that for dd....although I am positive she would love the petit filous given the chance!!

OK, got to run, sorry no personals, hope you all keeping well and enjoying the tennis xxx

simpson · 02/07/2008 16:47

Just got back from town where we bought DS's bouncy castle, God it was heavy to lug back!!

DH not happy with me because I forgot that it should have been DD's BCG injection today. Only remembered when we were in town legged it round to doctors but of course they would not do it as we were 2 hrs late and had no red book!! DH not happy because he had been offered overtime last week for today which I had made him turn down as did not fancy going on bus by myself with DCs for DD's BCG.

Just going to put DD in door bouncer for the first time. Lets see if she likes it!!

lilyloo · 02/07/2008 19:30

Whoops Simpson bet she will like the castle better though

Ohh Filly some nice ideas there. DD had carrot, broccoli and cauliflower for tea !

OP posts:
justkeepswimming · 02/07/2008 19:49

well battery about to run out so have to be quick.
oops simpson!
filly i agree with you about the petit filous, still give them to ds1 but wish there was a sugar free/reduced version.

my principles went out the window at lunch and ds2 had some spoons of baby porridge - a freebie from somewhere.
i'm losing my voice, can hardly whisper, am totally knackered and ds1 was playing up. just needed to give ds2 something, anything!
he totally loved it of course...

ah well, maybe it's like everything you set yourself the highest bar as a goal, then fail to reach it but muddle through somehow.

right, meant to be being quick, annoyed that i didn't bring charger with me as i know have evening on my own with no internet, argh!

go andy...

gingeme · 02/07/2008 20:15

Evening ladies. I got my bread maker today Going to buy some ingredients tommorow. Ive promised ds3 he can help me make our first loaf.
Took ds5 to the docs this morning about his thrush. He was giving the gp the biggest grins she had to keep stopping talking because she was laughing at him so much which made him grin and laugh too. It was so cute. Anyway got some drops which we have to use for a week four times a day after food.
He slept till 5 am again this morning. Bottle bum change then back to sleep till about 7.30. Just wish hed drop the 5 am feed then weve cracked it.
My two big boys are coming to stay on Monday for three weeks. Looking forward to their help.
Well all quiet here. Think I might attempt to have a bath.
Hope every one has a better night.
By the way has anyone heard from Beller at all?

simpson · 02/07/2008 20:22

Well bedtime here has gone a bit tits up tonight!!

DD so over tired she managed 1 pathetic oz of milk before meltdown!!

DS fell asleep in buggy this afternoon for an hour, he has been in bed since 7pm and is still awake kicking the wall and singing every nursery rhyme he knows VERY loudly. Guess who is going to be tired at playgroup tomorrow?!

LuckySalem · 02/07/2008 20:26

Well had a really horrid couple of hours which i'm finally relaxing over now.

Dp came home with DD and almost as soon as he went to bed (he was working nights last night) she started wingeing which I was trying to cheer her up, feed her etc and it turned into full blown screams which lasted for 2 hours.

I went up to DP to get some help and his answer was "put her pj's on and put her to bed, let her scream it out" AIBU to think thats just not on? It could well be that he was just tired and that was all he could think of but

I ended up having to sit outside with her wrapped in her blanket listening to the birds/dogs/council estate women screaming at their kids to feed her. Then rocked her to sleep finally at about 7:45pm.

I'm exhausted now!

lilyloo · 02/07/2008 20:26

JKS he is like Mary Poppins isn't he 'practically perfect in every way'

Gingeme ooh a bread maker was thinking of getting one, we love bread let me know how it goes!
No not heard from Beller for ages wonder how she and 'George' ? are doing ?

Simpson i think i would draw a line under today

gingeme · 02/07/2008 20:29
