DD had melon today and most went on the floor so she's not actually eating it if I allow her to BLW (IYKWIM) I'm giving her puree afterwards though so I know something is going down her. DP not impressed with BLW cos it causes too much mess. LOL

sorry to hear bout Turkey.

thinking of giving DD some broccoli tomorrow. Am making pasta with a creamy sauce and broccoli for me & DS so no hassle. I know she won't be able to try any unless i put it in her hand. She is not good at picking things up herself at all. If I put it in her hand she may gum some.

Have to confess that although I want to do BLW have bought a few hipp organic jars today. We are going on holiday for 2 wks when DD is 28 wks old. Want to do BLW but might worry about choking so got jars as back up. Bad mummy!!

simpson · 25/06/2008 23:58

Naetha - X post love the pic very gorg!!

Have finally worked out how to do profile page now to try and get pics on. You can tell I don't use computer much... apart from MN!!!

LuckySalem · 26/06/2008 00:52

Naetha - Brilliant picture!!

Naetha · 26/06/2008 08:37

So far we've had broccoli, rice cakes (he ate 3 last night - and actually ate them rather than gumming them and spreading them everywhere!) a taste of a gluten free chocolate brownie (!) and yesterday had a first taste of bread. It was while removing a huge chunk of bread from his mouth that he bit down on me, and it hurt! He has two little teeth poking through on the bottom

He hasn't been teething that badly at all over the last couple of weeks, but the teeth have only come through in the last day or so, so I don't know what all the fuss was about before!

I get the feeling that Ben is going to like horror films when he's older - he absolutely loves being scared! s7.photobucket.com/albums/y290/ldticp/Ben%20Llewelyn%20Thackray/?action=view&current=MVI_0523.flv

Our work on the house is nearly finished - the bathroom looks amazing! I'll post a picture when it's finished, but it really looks awesome! Just trying to work out what flooring to get - we have a white suite, black art-deco "brick" style tiles and plain white walls. Should we go for a wood effect or a slatey tile effect? Any other suggestions?

LuckySalem · 26/06/2008 08:40

Slatey tile Naetha!! That vid is brilliant. DD does that when you throw her in the air so I think she's gonna be a daredevil! lol

mixedmama · 26/06/2008 08:41

Naetha I am still jealous of your kitchen

mixedmama · 26/06/2008 08:43

Simpson and MrsBakergirl - meant to say I was born in your neck of the woods in Perivale Hospital (which I think is now nolonger ) My mum is from Southall and born at Hillingdon hospital I think and all my mums family leave in Northolt, Greenford, Uxbridge etc. Dont really see them tho, they are a huge family do you think we are related??

mixedmama · 26/06/2008 08:44

Naetha go for slatey tile

MrsBakerGirl · 26/06/2008 08:54

Hi mixedmama

I was also born in Perivale Hospital aswell- you are right no longer there. My mum lives in Greenford! Where are you now?

Simpson - how was the night after 3.5 oz? I have only just started giving DD baby rice since Saturday - I have noticed she is even taking a bit more milk and seems happier in her self! My DS is a 17lb bundle of cuddles and smiles - so laid back, never upset! Thank god with two!

Morning everyone - enjoy the sunshine!

simpson · 26/06/2008 09:23

Morning all,

My DD was born in Hillingdon Hosp but DS was born in Queen Charlottes as used to live in Ealing. My mum still does.

DD went till 5.30am on just 3.5 ozs. Not too bad. She went back down till 8.

Naetha - love the vid!!

Am off out now to a coffee morning for local mums, have got a fireman doing talk on fire safety lets hope he is pleasing on the eye...

lilyloo · 26/06/2008 11:18

Nice weather here too!!

DH just taken DCs to the park for a couple of hours so I have time to myself but I don't know what to do with it!!

Didn't get to give DD any broccoli as DS decided he wanted ham sandwich for lunch.

susiemj · 26/06/2008 14:43

Oi! lay off Spain or I'll have a hormonal breakdown (DD / DH Spanish)

Fragolina · 26/06/2008 14:44

mixedmama - thought of you last night , fab game though
Naetha - slatey tiles!
Lilyloo - thanks, still undecided though
Ange - gorgeous pics
Simpson - was the fireman fit?

Fingers crossed we have turned a corner re:sleep. last night was pretty good - feed at 11:00, little cry at 3-ish, again at 5:30 and feed at 6 - feel fairly human today!

In fact, human enough to care about my appearance and feel guilty for not doing any exercise, apart from walking. Not going to get rid of flabby tum at this rate. It still looks a bit alien and wrinkly - any remedies? I've decided to embrace accept the stretchmarks though, as evidence of the amazing miracle of the human body. Besides, as far as I know, there really is no magic cream to get rid of them!

mixedmama · 26/06/2008 14:51

Hi laides, got into work about 20 mins ago... 2 hours late as had an appointment at the hospital for an ongoing foot problem. Had to see a specific consultant and he was running 1hr 20mins late then got called to theatre. Had to see a registrar who cant make the bloody decision and has to discuss with said consultant and I have to go back in OCTOBER

Mrsbakersgirl - we moved to East London when i was about 18 months as my dad worked in Turkish factories so it was too far for him and now I live in NW London with DH and DC.

susiemj · 26/06/2008 14:54

p.s. mixedmama - gutted about last night. We all really wanted Turkey to win!

simpson · 26/06/2008 14:55

Susiemj - I'll leave Spain alone!! Don't mind if they win really!!

Fragolina - Fireman not too bad. Its definately the uniform though he would have been quite ordinary without it!!

Mixed mama - sorry to hear about hosp.

simpson · 26/06/2008 20:21

DH just got back from going out to get milk for DS's breakfast in the morning. He went out on bike to corner shop. Just got back with blood all over his elbow, hand and knee. Said some guy came round the corner in his car really fast on the wrong side of the road and clipped him. He is quite shaken up. Have cleaned him up he is now having wine watching footie. He is on early shift tomorrow which means leaving house at 3.30am.

Naetha · 26/06/2008 20:22

Mixedmama - I don't know if it's worth it for you, but when I had a bladder problem, I went to see a consultant privately to get the referral speeded up. I would have had to have waited for at least 6 months (assuming no cancellations), but I went private (BUPA hospital) and got seen the next week, and got a recommendation for surgery immediately. It cost £120 but was worth every penny.

Thinking about getting a rubber floor, but wouldn't really know where to start looking!

LuckySalem · 26/06/2008 20:23

Simpson!! so for your DH what a horrid experience. Did he get the numberplate?

simpson · 26/06/2008 20:38

Lucky - no he didn't get numberplate said it all happened so fast. He thinks the guy didn't even see him till its too late. Gash on hand, have bandaged him up but not very good at that time of thing.

LuckySalem · 26/06/2008 20:39

Poor bloke!! Give him a HUGE pint of something he likes for the pain.
Is it worth a trip to the docs - to get sewn/bandaged etc?

simpson · 26/06/2008 20:43

He is having glass/es of wine at the moment. Think we will see what it looks like tomorrow. Bag gash but it is not bleeding very much.
