Couldn't think of anything contraversial!

Lennied, glad you found your decision

LenniEd · 31/05/2008 13:44

Thanks Eli, DD also has mild eczema and is also a bad sleeper. Shes been waking again for the last couple of weeks. Am also resigned to no sleep. Wonder if it is an eczema thing then? When I was little my brother used to have bad eczema and my Gran always used to call him a 'delicate child' - still does actually - he was a dreadful sleeper. My half brother also has eczema and was an awful sleeper - way beyond anything we are dealing with, he wouldn't sleep more than about 2 hours until he was about 2years old. And at 9 months he learnt to roll over the bar of the cot and escape - not that they were as well constructed as they are now. My Mum had a notice from the police about the neighbours complaining about the amount of noise in the night! Maybe there is something in the eczema link??

LenniEd · 31/05/2008 13:45

Glad you had a good night Indith - I can't wait to be free too - not too long left now on this batch of essays (due Weds) and then just my dissertation left need to get it done before no.2 arrives in Jan.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 31/05/2008 18:03

Indith - isn't it good to hand over the last essay?

FGS - can I just call you EV?

Isn't baby bean clever?

Have you had trouble hooking up to the net Jabber? I hope you're all unpacked and settled.

Lennied - we missed the nuchal scan because it was too late to do it when we found out I was pg. We had a barts test instead (although I think this was because we were under Kings College and they like getting people in for tests)

I feel so tired - although I can't blame my children this time. I went out until late on Thursday (work do) and I had a gathering around my house last night. I had to work today as well.

EustaciaVye · 31/05/2008 19:22

I'm happy with EV

Busy day today and ILs here tomorrow. I have a cold, as does DD2. Sigh.

Elibean · 31/05/2008 19:24

Margo, sympathies - we went out last night to a neighbours for dinner, home by 10.30 but still felt coshed all day today (and didn't even drink alcohol, just unaccustomed to laughing/talking/eating type activites after 8pm )

Did'nt have to work though, poor you.

dd2 been v active, cheered up again, ate huge supper, walked (holding finger mostly) all afternoon at Wisley, and is still awake in spite of interrupted nap. Not very CPish yet, then

Elibean · 31/05/2008 19:25

Get well soon EV and EV's dd

My eccentric uncle calls dd1 EV, for wildly complicated reasons, makes me every time I see it now.

babypowder · 31/05/2008 23:06

I feel as though a light has been turned on, thanks to all the talk about eczema and sleep. DD1 has always been a very bad sleeper, and she has eczema. But in the last 2 weeks, she has started sleeping through the night, in her own bed, with no night terrors, or sleep walking or anything. it co-incides with the start of summer and the subsequent easing of her symptoms. Do you think they are related? I can't believe I've never considered it until tonight I am loving her sleeping through, and having all that bed space.

I'm just going to put a new picture of the girls on here, if you fancy a gander!

Olihan · 31/05/2008 23:21

BP, the GP said to me that children with itchy skin conditions tend to be bad sleepers, so it makes sense.

Elibean · 01/06/2008 08:28

BP, they are gorgeous

Love the breakfast picture - can't wait for dd2 to be stable enough to sit on a chair with dd1 and eat meals at 'their' table. Have recently acquired a small playhouse in the garden, put a table and two chairs in and have had some very peaceful moments since....

Elibean · 01/06/2008 08:29

And glad your dd is sleeping better. It does change life, that.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 01/06/2008 12:49

They're lovely BP. I will update my pictures sometime soon.

evening all, quiet over the weekend but I guess we're all busy!

indith, forgot to ask before if you got test results and had reason for tiredness or has it passed? (and must reply to your email!)

lennied, have just mailed you

oli, would lurvve some tops pretty please! I don't think I"m cattable but email holyhandbag at yahoo dot co dot uk. skin problems sound dreadful, I hope they get under control along with sleep soon {hugs}

bp, lovely photos, I love seeing all our babies in RL! Got dp to take photo of my ever expanding bump today so I can stick it on facebook for y'all Have a laugh, god news dp does. Elibean, I too wish I could stick ds2 on a chair, he tries and falls off all the time! I cannot believe how fast he is though after 2 weeks walking, he is positively zooming around!

bebe, what is your next step for 'hormone hell'? Don't give up on getting some help just cos of that pratt

fgs/ev (completely missing that tbh) sending get well wishes to your household!

jabber, jabber, where for art thou jabber?

LenniEd · 01/06/2008 22:43

Thanks AQ - have replied.

Was also wondering about indith's tests and jabber... hope everything ok.

I have got a bump - well that is a generous term - a fat wobbly bit would be more accurate! Not sure I'm going to hold out much longer on not telling anyone.

DD's latest word is 'bubbles' - all the essential ones first eh ... shoes, two, bubbles, dog, ready...boo, DHs first name , and so on...

What happened to cup, bye bye... you know all those useful ones!!

FGS hope you are feeling better, and Eli, hope the chickenpox has passed or got DD2 nicely. I too love the pics BP - DD has got a little chair now. Although she carries it round with her and uses it to climb on things the terror - she climbed in the shower with me on it this morning. Fully dressed! Must hide it before I go to bed!

Olihan · 02/06/2008 08:19

AQ, will phone my dsis later and see which ones she's got and email you with details1

Ds2 slept through last night. I'm sure it's a one off but his eczema is so much improved with the new steroids so who knows?

Need to update my photos too, BP - your girls look so cute!

Indith · 02/06/2008 13:15

Hello

Thanks for enquiries, tests came back eventually (2 days my arse), iron low but not stupidly so, they want to repeat in a few weeks to keep an eye on it.

Handing the last bits in is great Margo. Lennied I bet you'll feel so much better when you get the last essays done and can focus on one thing. You def have good motivation to finish by January!

How are the poxy ones? Are we still having sweepstakes as to which sibling will be next?

Ds has a rotten cold, so of course has spent his nights not sleeping, his days walking everywhere and today has collapsed into a snotty, grumpy, shattered heap of grumbling, crying, tantrum throwing toddler (toddler! ). Have managed to persuade him to go to sleep with medised. Typically I have things to do in town that have to be done today so he can't sleep for too long. Also typically dp is in London, will be back late and I have a Rainbow sleepover meeting to attend so will have to take him out past bedtime. That'll be fun

LenniEd · 02/06/2008 16:34

Indith - sympathy on DS. He's going to think he's a rainbow soon bless him!

Right everyone, packing for hols (going on Thurs yippee!! ) tell me what I will have forgotten for DD that I'll need??? Are going to Greek Islands so will be hot - got so far...
Shorts and T-Shirts
Couple of dresses
Sunsuits
Nappies
Wipes
Nappy bags (don't usually use them but not liking idea of cleaner picking up nappies!)
Swimming costume
Swim nappy
Sunglasses
Hats
Formula for bedtime bottles and bedtime bottle.
Bedtime blanket thing she has
Pyjamas
A few toys
Snacks, drinks and toys for plane
Beach shoes and sandals plus her trainers she'll be travelling in.
Buggy with sunshade
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Sun lotion
Calpol
Nail clippers

That's it. Doesn't seem like a lot when I put it in the case. Only takes up half of one side. Surely I've forgotten loads of important things??

LenniEd · 02/06/2008 16:36

Indith - will he sleep if you carry him? I can still manage a front carry with DD if it is short distance and if I hoist the wrap up and put her arms in she'll sleep in it?? Plus when you get to rainbows you could sit down with him still tucked up?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 02/06/2008 18:52

I can't think of anything else to add to your packing (except passports and tickets)

OP posts:
LenniEd · 02/06/2008 19:15

Thanks Margo - joking apart, when we went to Germany at Xmas I forgot DDs passport! We missed the flight cos of it and had to wait on the standby list for the next one while PILs rushed to the airport with her passport. It looked like there was no space and we wouldn't be going until about 30secs before they closed the flight when they realised there were 2 spare seats. We had to run through Manchester airport to the gate and our bags apparently made the flight only 'cos the check in desk lady screamed down the phone at the cabin crew! Was not a good experience at the time, but we all laugh about it now, except for FIL who still shakes his head disapprovingly whenever it is mentioned. DH is in charge of the passports this time

Had great fun at the Christmas markets though!

EustaciaVye · 02/06/2008 19:20

LennieEd - you need Flylady's vacation checklist

EustaciaVye · 02/06/2008 19:21

I'm proving to you all that I'm incredibly sad aren't I?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 02/06/2008 19:21

Oh EV, you're so good!

OP posts:
LenniEd · 02/06/2008 19:30

Wow!

Elibean · 02/06/2008 19:33

Ooo LenniEd, Greece, you forgot to pack me

Seriously, can't think of anything else - though in dd2's case we carry more than Calpol (putting it mildly) in the way of druuugs.

Oli, so glad ds is sleeping better, whatever the reason.

Indith, also glad your iron is not too bad - though shame there isn't a quick fix to the tiredness. I would think a non-sleeping, coldy, grumpy LO plus pregnancy would be a just cause though....am sending you energy and bon-courage vibes in return for the forked fingers

dd2 still not spotty, its 2 weeks today since dd1's first spot, am on red alert...she's on fine form, atm, and here's her mother examining her for illness...

Have done something bad to my back again - by bending over and picking up bag in right hand, whilst dd2 is sitting on left hip. Very very silly.
