Couldn't think of anything contraversial!

EV, I don't even dare look - you put me to shame

castlesintheair · 02/06/2008 19:43

Bit of a stupid question EV, but are you flylady?

Oh Lordy, holidays, I am expecting DD2's passport to be redelivered by courier for the 100th time tomorrow. Why they can't just put it in the post ffs or get my neighbour to take it. At this rate, we shall be holidaying at home. Again.

I have just arranged to offload DD2 for 2 hours on Wednesday mornings ...... so that I can go and work in DS's school. I think I must be a masochist

Olihan · 02/06/2008 20:30

LOL Castles, the only time I hand over dd and ds2 is to go and help in ds1's preschool. The joy of having 3, eh?

Eli, hooray for no pox so far, am keeping my fingers crossed.

Lennied, list looks good and at the passport debacle last time. You'll never live that one down, will you?

Indith, are you taking spatone or similar to keep iron levels topped up? I remember how tiring the 2nd pg was and I wasn't studying and rainbowing and all the other things that you do.

DS2 has gone to sleep cuddling his Postman Pat van, Pat and Jess . He's only had it a day and he is absurdly attached to it. Makes up for evil mummy taking away all his cuddly toys in the name of eczema prevention .

The dummy fairy is coming to our house tonight, to take away dd's dummies. She's
leaving a Dora doll in return so I'm hoping dd sees it as a fair swap!

LenniEd · 02/06/2008 21:16

You have a very thoughtful dummy fairy in your house Oli! A fair swap I think. I remember my littlest brother posting his dummies to Father Christmas, he was having a good chomp on them right up until the envelope was sealed - I pity the poor person who opened that letter .

And no, I won't live that one down. I sobbed on and off through the whole 2 hour plane journey too - just had a complete meltdown, very embarrassing.

EV - Have you noticed that flylady doesn't start packing until she has scrubbed her house from top to bottom, changed the setting on her air conditioning, isolating her hot water supply and taped her freezer door firmly shut - and I don't think you're sad at all but I do admire your housekeeping abilities

babypowder · 02/06/2008 21:36

Just dropping in quickly. It's my birthday, and I got a new tent I'm sooooo excited It's got LED lights and everything

(Will catch up later and stop being so self-centered!)

EustaciaVye · 02/06/2008 21:59

Happy Birthday BP!

Lol Castles. I am NOT flylady. I do however know the theory very well. I just havent been putting it into practise much lately so I'm sorrounded by toys all over the floor atm.

bebespain · 02/06/2008 22:01

bp - "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" - hope you had a lovely day and ooh err at the tent, LED lights? Wow, what can I say !

Eli - you have my sympathy over your back. I hope its not too bad. I used to have terrible trouble with mine until I found a wonderful chiropractor with huge healing hands He was brilliant!

Castles - masochist most definitely Only joking, you´ll have an absolute ball!!! Had a nosy at you piccies on Facebook, such totally gorgeous children

All well in the bebespain household. DS has been in major babble mode today, I swear he hasn´t shut up all day. So funny to listen to but not a clue what he´s saying

Thanks to everybody for your PMT remedy suggestions. Shall definitely try the Magnesium, Oli have heard good things about it

Elibean · 02/06/2008 22:19

Happy Camping Birthday BP

jabberwocky · 02/06/2008 22:41

I'm finally back online! wondering if I'll ever get caught up with the thread tho . Anyone else pg?

So even after our "pre-move" we had WAY more stuff than I could have ever imagined. We will have been in the house 2 weeks tomorrow and I feel that I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I start work p-t tomorrow and ds1 started his first week of summer day camp today and loved it, thank goodness.

But even with all the stress and uncertainty, it's really, really nice to be back home. We've already spent some brief time with old friends and it's makes me wonder how I ever stayed away so long.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 02/06/2008 22:42

Happy birthday BP

Ah yes, I forgot to add. Dd2 "reads" a book out loud now. Does the page turn and then spews a lot of babble, pauses and then turns the page.

Aw, bless.

babypowder · 02/06/2008 22:45

Welcome back, Jabber! We've missed you.

I have read all the recent messages, but my brain is incapable of retaining information. I will make more of an effort tomorrow.

I'm away overnight tomorrow - first time since DD2 was born. Hope they all cope without me. Especially DD2, as she is so used to being nursed on demand in the night Maybe I should be more worried about DH having to walk the floor with her!

babypowder · 02/06/2008 22:45

Margo, I love that 'reading' thing. DD2 does it with the newspaper, and peers up over her imaginary half-moon specs to tell us something serious

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 02/06/2008 22:52

lol at baby bp!

Hope you're settled now Jabber. Good to see you back.

jabberwocky · 02/06/2008 23:01

Happy Birthday bp! I'm going to have the same problem next month when I'll be gone for 5 days. I thnk I'm really ready to wean him but just can't seem to get anywhere with it.

castlesintheair · 03/06/2008 10:06

Hey, welcome back Jabber. Glad you are happy to be back home

Happy birthday BP.

Thanks Bebespain. I wondered who I was "making friends with" . I must have a look at everyone's piccies one day.

I love the 'pretend" reading too. I remember DD1 walking around my ILs garden in france doing it then chucking all the books in the pool. DD2 is currently switching my screen on and off, so not sure this will make much sense. Does it ever

LenniEd · 03/06/2008 10:11

Welcome back Jabber - no more pregnancies, not that I know of anyway! A few more steps from Eli's DD and someone else too... and AQ made the MN homepage and became famous with her twin naming thread. Think that's pretty much it - oh except Indith finished uni!! And bebespain had a very nasty run in with a gynae - still makes me shudder.

Happy Birthday BP!! And enjoy your first night away.

Right, better get this essay finished, clean the house and finish my flylady packing list... once DD has finished snuggling up on my lap half asleep though

LenniEd · 03/06/2008 10:13

Oh, and we've got the actions for 'If you're happy and you know it' down today - some seriously cute foot stamping going on

Indith · 03/06/2008 11:01

Happy Belated Birthday BP! (link to tent please

Tis pouring down, my house is a tip and ds has shared his cold most generously.

FlyLady doesn't exist. She is actually a childless, non-working woman with enough money for a couple of cleaners, a chef and a house boy. nobody does all of that before going on holiday. Though I tend to forget hairbrush and deodorant rather than passports

Maybe she won't get the pox Eli? I didn't when my sister had them. (hence the forked fingers, for some reason I am paranoid about getting them myself while pg, irrational I know)

ds is in creche today, am keeping him in one day now since am technically trying to find something to do. They break up for the summer in July though so if I have nothing by September he may not go back.

Right, I have a house to seriously declutter.

jabberwocky · 03/06/2008 14:40

Thanks for the update lennied Congrats to Indith and the walkers. I'm about to start getting ready for my first day at my new office. It's only a half day and I'm kind of hoping we are not terribly busy so that I can get my bearings a bit.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 03/06/2008 17:23

lol indith.

Someone please tell me to get my ar$e off MN and finish my due-in-tomorrow essay, pretty please

accessorizequeen · 03/06/2008 20:16

I will, lennied or I won't send you bump bands! grrr

Olihan · 03/06/2008 21:22

Get off t'internet Lennied and get some work done! (I think I'm a bit rusty at teacher voice these days, it's almost 5 years since I last taught )

Hello, Jabber! Lovely to have you back. I know what you mean about being home, I felt the same when we moved here. It wasn't until we were here that I realised how unhappy I'd been down South.

Happy Birthday BP , am of your tent, mine doesn't have LED lights! Did you (and Indith) know that you can get real sleeping bags for babies? I'm sure you do being real campers. Did I say that we're going on our first trip on Sat? To the PILs garden so I can escape to their spare room if I need to .

AQ, am going to DSis's tomorrow so I'll email you later to get your address.

Dora went down well this morning until dd realised that there were no more dummies EVER. First she said 'But I'm a little girl. Look, mummy, I'm just little, I'm a not big girl' and when I reminded her that the dummy fairy had taken her dummies away she said, 'No she didn't, she didn't come, a rabbit ate her' . I had to LOL at that.

CocodeBear · 03/06/2008 21:27

Hello. I wonder if you remember me? I was on the ante-natal thread for a while - I used to be Mardybum.

My DD2 was very poorly when she was born, 2 wks late, in Dec '06, and we were given all sorts of dire prognoses for the future.

For a long time I couldn't bear to look at the PN thread, but actually things are progressing nicely and she's doing very well. She's not quite walking but she's not far off now.

I'd love to come back...
