Couldn't think of anything contraversial!

bebespain - hope the eyue kees improving.

aq - fame at last. I like Iona and Callum. Both were names we considered, although I see you dont like Callum...so I'm not much use really.

Olihan - we have school visits soon. DD1 keeps saying she doesnt want to go to pre-school Have finally established it is because she wants to go to school instead!

Eli - Dd2 got it worse and it was harder as she didnt understand the pain iykwim. She got it 13.5 days after DD1. 2 weeks is the standard time difference I think.

Elibean · 23/05/2008 12:53

Oli, ((())) re school feelings! I know, dd is starting in sept too. Though I feel more at dd2 reaching milestones, I think, 'cos she's definitely the last...

FGS, thanks for headsup on timing - dd1 is a bit better today, and slept through (with medised) though I have one eye, so to speak, on the nastiest vulva spot which has gone red and sore again today. How do you know when they're infected??

dd2 is in hugely fine form, and soooo nearly walking....she points at dd1's spots and makes pretend cries, so think she's got that they're painful. Not sure she'll get it when its her, though. Sigh.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 23/05/2008 13:13

Hi Eli - Its difficult to tell if they're infected as the pus is yellowy anyway and the spot is sore. But I would say if the skin is very hot to touch in that area, the spot is MUCh bigger than the others and the pus is very yellow then keep an eye on it. DD2 had a few like this but they did settle by themselves. DD had a few spots much worse than the others and I think most people get a kind of superspot. DD1s was on her back and DD2s is on her top lip so I'm expecting a big scar.

DD2 is so cute though. If the phone goes she runs over to find a toy phone and has a conversation with Daddy

Elibean · 23/05/2008 14:15

Aaaahhhhh

Thanks, will look out for that. Superspot is on her back too, though one on labia is a good rival

Poor dd2, she really had it badly, didn't she? Hope her lip clears up ok.

bebespain · 23/05/2008 16:10

Thaks again girls for all your good wishes re DS eye

Yes Olihan communication between medics...hmmm what communication...???!!!
Really feel for you about DS1 starting school. I´m sure I´ll feel exactly the same and its years off yet but I already feel this 17 months have gone by all too quickly and I´m starting to forget those first months

I am being a bit naughty today. Its pouring down again (honestly) and I´ve got the Wheels on the Bus DVD going round on a loop. DS has only recently started to respond to the TV but he loves this and gets most upset when it finishes. Has anyone else seen it? Its pretty naff actually but DS loves jigging around to the singsongs

FGS - hope your cat´s leg is on the mend

Hope all the babies with cp are soon feeling better and marks healing up

Oops DS trying to scale my coffee table....

castlesintheair · 23/05/2008 17:59

Eli, I think the spots often look a bit 'infected' but they aren't IYKWIM. It's just the pre-scabbing bit. I ended up putting nappy cream between DD1's legs last year when she had it badly. Worked a treat. She walked like a cowboy for quite a while poor thing.

Sympathies re you pre-school jitter bugs. I was like this 2 years ago but fret ye not, the whole thing is just great. It has been the making of DS and DD1 can't wait to start in Sept. The only thing you'll find (until you have them all at the same school) is how much busier you are. Well I am

Will have to take a look at your claim to fame AQ though I'm hopeless when it comes to suggestions: I can't help myself and always suggest Godber

castlesintheair · 23/05/2008 18:02

DS has a couple of scars on his face from CP. They just add to his general charm You can try Bio-oil once the scab has dropped off.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 23/05/2008 18:07

You need to look at my facebook as picture of poor cat is on there

LenniEd · 23/05/2008 19:15

Hi All,

Internet broken. Will be back soon, no time to catch up now. Bloody BT!!!

Have a good bank holiday...

XXX

Olihan · 23/05/2008 19:21

Eli, one of dd's spots became infected and it was obvious that it was. All the surrounding skin became very red and quite swollen, while the spot itself kept getting bigger. Will have a look and see if I've got any pics.

Thanks for the sympathy re. school. I know he's going to love it and he can't wait - 'What I'm Going To Do When I Am At School' is his favourite topic at the moment. I just wish it wasn't happening just yet .

bebespain · 23/05/2008 20:06

Aww that´s so cute of your DS Oli

FGS - Had a nosey at your cat on Facebook - very fetching red bandage. Poor thing hope the cabin fever is soon over.

AQ - saw your names link some great suggestions, some not so I struggled so much for one boys name, had a few for a girl mind.

bebespain · 23/05/2008 20:08

Oh yes forgot you´ve got a bank holiday coming up - lawnmowers and paintbrushes at the ready Have a good one everybody, hope it stays dry!

Elibean · 23/05/2008 21:04

Dry, over a bank holiday...

we're off to my Mum's in Oxford in morning, please pleeeease let it be dry because being cooped up with LOs, CP and DM might be the end of me

Thanks so much for the spot feedback, all you experienced ones, very reassuring...dd seems a lot better in herself (back to being cheeky for one thing) though new spots still appearing, mostly on her legs now. She's zonked out on Medised (Piriton made her scarily grumpy) and dd2's Benadryl syrup.

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday weekend, for those of you here in UK - give Cat a pat from me, FGS, I haven't accessed Facebook in ages and can't remember how to find any of you but am sure he looks utterly Cool. And expensive

babypowder · 23/05/2008 22:30

Gosh, I can't believe how coherent some of your LOs are! DD2 manages 'shoes' 'juice', 'peek-a-boo' and 'bus' (for wheels on the bus, her fave song ever ) It all seems to be happening so quickly now. Intellectual rather than physical growth spurts.

I will catch up properly over the weekend. This week has really caught up with me, and I found myself weeping over OJ's thread earlier. I clearly need a good night's sleep.

(Speaking of which, DD1 has slept in her own bed for the whole night for 6 nights in a row now. It's an all-time record. I'm terrified I'm going to get used to having all that bed to myself and the cycle will change again!)

LenniEd · 24/05/2008 11:09

Internet working again... woohoo!! Been off since Tuesday morning, was starting to feel like the world was continuing without me, sad eh!! Uni work has been very slow too without it.

Much sympathy on the CP, sounds awful. And for the Cat FGS, poor thing.

DH a bit better, helps that I can hardly eat or drink, and since I usually have a 'healthy' appetite I think he has realised that he needs to be a bit more sympathetic. DSis visiting this w/e though so at least I'll have a few people to distract DD with this afternoon, and I am planning on curling up on the sofa and watching her play with her visitors

BP, know exactly what you mean about it all happening so fast now, DD seems to pick new things up all the time now. I was counting as I put her toys away yesterday and I said 'one' and then she went 'two'... ... think she has heard me count to 7 so many times making her formula milk that she's caught on!!

Right, off to check out AQs claim to fame...

Indith · 24/05/2008 14:52

Yay for internet Lennied! Boo hiss! as uni work.

Just one exam left here! Yippee! Had Spanish this morning and was the last exam for most of them so there was much cheering and champagne being sprayed (what is it with spraying champagne? FGS guys if you must spray buy something dirt cheap and undrinkable, drink the bloody champagne!)

I have no boys. No dp, not ds They have gone to MIL for the bank holiday. FIL's dp suggested that they should all meet up so that MIL and FIL can meet the respective dh/dp so that it isn't all awkward "oh yes you are the guy married to my partner's ex-wife" at the wedding. God that looks confusing, you know what I mean right? Anyway surprisingly this suggestion has been taken very well and they are being all mature. I hope

Anyway I'm not sure what to do with myself with no ds to snuggle until Monday. Well, apart from sleep and revise.......

CP sounds like a nightmare. Hope they all get over it soon and there is minimal scarring, not too many uberspots etc.

The cat looks very swish with his bright bandage My parents' cat broke a paw over Christmas one year. Out of hours vet on Christmas eve, fun He hated the collar more than the pot, we ended up taking it off him and he didn't worry at the pot at all.

Congrats on the dd1 sleep BP

Oli you will be soooo proud when he trots into school all happy Bless them, won't be long until he is refusing to get up because school is "boring" and "pointless". I think that is one reason I love doing Rainbows "what did you do today?" "I went to school!" "really, and what did you do?" "I did sums! I love sums!" Can I borrow your ds for a walk, he sounds very cute. Ds points at things but his generic pointing noise is still doooooooo and his points are not very accurate so I generally have no idea what he is pointing at! A friend has rabbits who ds loves to chase around the garden/kitchen/living room. He usually ends up chasing, pointing somewhere towards the ceiling and yelling dooooo!

LenniEd · 25/05/2008 17:10

Ooooo, only one exam left - don't remember any champagne spraying when I graduated TBH, maybe times have changed... or perhaps Durham is a touch classier than Leeds! We all just went out and got very merry!

Definately sleep until DP/DS return... although I would also be lost without my two. DD has no respect at all for DH I have discovered, she has him wrapped around her little finger. He offered to do bedtime last night as we had visitors and I was knackered and he couldn't even get her near the bed, let alone asleep in it! When I went up he was chasing her around her bedroom trying in vain to get her pyjamas on her (with DD running away cheekily giggling). And when I settled her in bed and left the room I could hear her going 'ug'(as in hug) 'more' 'ug' 'more' for about 10 minutes. When DH finally emerged he revealed that she was demanding eskimo kisses and milk and still wasn't in bed!! When I went back in she crawled up her bed and tucked herself in... can I see a good cop, bad cop situation emerging or what!!??

LenniEd · 25/05/2008 18:15

I officially can't cope with my AN thread!! Can't wait until it all calms down and people actually respond to each other's messages, rather than being a laundry list of complaining and people taking offence at each other! Think people get so used to being out there they forget how to be polite!!

With all the preggers ladies in here I feel quite at home anyhow...

Indith · 25/05/2008 18:47

Lol, daddy's little angel

My thread is just about starting to calm down Lennied but yes it is a bit of a list of feeling sick, spotting, booking in and scan dates, worrying about labour already and little actual responding to people. Maybe we are just so used to knowing each other on here. Have had quite a few miscarriages on ours though which is

I have curry. It is yummy.

LenniEd · 25/05/2008 19:33

Talking of scan dates, when is yours Indith? Can't be too far off now? Mine is June 30th, just after we get back from our holiday so something nice to look forward to.

at worrying about labour already - also had a few miscarriages on my thread, it is very sad, and makes me worry, but what will be will be.

I just had a curry, didn't think I'd want it, but it was lovely. And I made soooo much, have put half in the freezer, which always makes me feel like a proper housewife .

Can you tell I'm writing my essay?? Hour on, 5 mins on the internet, and so on through the evening!!

Indith · 25/05/2008 19:39

That's the way to go! Scan is on Tuesday! Quite excited

Am still hungry. Shall go finish putting stuff away in my room (house is so clean with no boys) and poss go get takeaway......

Then Russian.

LenniEd · 25/05/2008 20:59

Aaaargh! Too tired to work, far too easily distracted. Need to get my head in order, think my brain has moved out.

Russian?? Wow! I went to Russia when pg with DD, amazing place, really very strange. Would love to go back.

Right, concentrate!!

Am all excited for you now on the scan!

LenniEd · 25/05/2008 22:53

Jabber - hope all is going well there. Been thinking of you

Essay made suitable progress so off to bed.

Night all x

babypowder · 26/05/2008 11:13

Indith and LeddiEd, as I am living vicariously through all you pregnant women, I am irrationally excited about your scans!

Glad you're both doing well with essays, etc.

Gloria42 · 26/05/2008 19:46

Gorgeous Bank Holiday up here, although I hope it rained for all you studiers to encourage you to stay in! Took DS to Loch Lomond, he paddled in the water, ate stones and chased ducks. Had a ball and is now so tired he won't go to sleep - lying in bed speaking Swahili!
I am beginning to think my parents have fitted DS with a tracking device. We went out for the day (just the three of us) and they managed to find us by the side of the Loch!! They just decided to go for a drive in the car and VOILA! there we were! Anyone else's parents obsessed with your LOs??
