Now paint your face blue, and stick your tongue out at the world - end especially the half-wit-mid-life-crisis-lacking-common-sense-PMT-suffering-eejits we otherwise call men.

eandh, ratbunny, susie, UD - this one's for you

Why are there not enough fucking hours in the day? I have been to my sister's for the day, got home, need to clean the house as ILs are coming, had a quick bath, washing up not done (DH appears to be on strike as he hasn't done ANY since we moved to Huddersfield ), need to email my mates, put together the copy for the brochure for this consultancy work, I have a new cross-stitch that I am DESPERATE to start and it is already 8:10pm.

And, whilst I was typing that DH has just said 'Why is there nothing in for my parents to eat??' FFS!!!! Am I the only person running this fucking household???????? So it is MY job then to look after J, work in the shop, do ALL the housework, do the weekly shopping - WHEN DO I GET A FUCKING BREAK??? It's alright for him swanning off playing golf. [grr]

MEN!

Sorry, I turned from a sane rational woman to a ranty one in less than a minute. Obv that was brewing.

Dragonhart · 15/05/2008 20:45

Luke's eczema is so bad from the reaction to suncream. Got a doctors appt, they have been saying that is is still infantile eczema but it is behind his knees and elbows now so think it might be proper eczema now .

Lizz- Aveeno cream does work really well on Luke and you can get it from Boots or on prescription. Might be worth a try as it is basically just a moisturiser rather than strong chemicals.

Ratbunny- Men can be so sh*t. Just remember he is the one who is missing out and will miss out on loads with S. What an idiot.

Ok, so sleeping. I had two 'good' sleepers up until almost the moment I conceived and now I am up and down with the pair of them

Luke started refusing to go to bed and after a month of rapid returning for 2 hours every night, I got some advice on here to try just going in every 5 mins. Also bought him another nightlight (one of those that are a torch too) and he just stayed in bed. So one night, I am almost throwing him in bed, he gets up before I am even out of the room and I take him back to bed with gritted teeth. The next he got up once and said 'you there mummy' and I said 'ill be there in 5mins' and he just stayed in bed! THen did the same every night til now! Grrr but .

Then literally the next night, Ruth started crying when I put her to bed, but it was because of her back teeth so I was half sympathetic and half going mad.

Now she is going to sleep ok but most nights I get up to teething gel her. Luke is having bad nightmares so is waking up afew times a night as well as early because of the light mornings. It is not really their fault, I feel cross with them but guilty because it is because of pain or being scared not because they want me there.

Anyway, didnt mean to rattle on about their sleep but once you start...

Reggiee · 15/05/2008 21:25

Lizz pmsl. Am really scared now.

laughalot · 15/05/2008 21:44

Iv added a few pics to profile ladies

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2008 07:41

Wilkie - Can you play golf? If not, then why don't you learn (DP could teach you) - then you could get really "into" it and oops, suddenly nothing else gets done. Like he does iyswim?!
PMSL at DP being on strike re. housework since you moved. Hmm....I think mine is permanently on strike then. Ho hum.
Rgee - Quivver in your boots! I'm dead scarey me!

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2008 07:44

Dragon - sorry, thanks for the hint about Aveena cream. Dr has given me about 4 creams which I am supposed to use. Its getting daft. Nothing is working. I'm sure it must be diet related, and have cut out eating cheese for the last 2 weeks. But nothing has happend. So may gulp...try to cut out sugar?!?!?!?!? (might leave until after holiday!)

Dj slept for the 3rd night in his own cot the whole night! We did have a bit of a "party" between 1-2am but he had a bottle of milk and went back to sleep again. Only to wake at 5am having done a huge poo. Great. I really do look like a zombie today! (I hate these 5am starts. 6am I can manage, but 5am just isnt right!)

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2008 07:46

Lal - Laurens pigtails are adorable! Do you reckon I could get away with DJ having them? (I could be ironic/alternative with it???)

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2008 07:49

Def not broody, but do miss not having a girl. I baby sat for a mates 3 year old last weekend and she went home with painted toenails, hair done, and dressed up in an amalgamation of my old sparkley going out top and pjamas (it was a cool look!)
Her Mum thought it was hilarious that I had overdosed on little girlyness, and told her neighbour about it, who commented on it to me the other day. I am becoming known for wanting a little girl...oops.

Right. Enough twaddle from me this morning. Am off to get ready for soft play (God help me!)
This is the problem with being up so early. Everything gets done so quick, but you really really want to go back to bed!
Have a good friday y'all xxx

theAfkaUrbanDryad · 16/05/2008 07:58

Will I get flamed if i complain about my half 6 start this morning? Z usually sleeps til at least* half 7 and usually 8. Was gone 9 before we got up yesterday!

Lal - cute pics doesnt A look like W in the picture with his shorts and hat on

Lizz - Ellie has stress excezma and the only thing that clears it is hydrocortisone (sp) cream and she has to have a strong one so we try not to use it that often. Hattie has it in the podgy creases behind her knees but it doesnt seem to bother her that much

PCF - glad you got Alex's transport sorted, you'd have thought soemone woulod have thought about it before he started though! Does Max miss Alex now he is at school all day?

Rat - if you are lurking, how are you?

UD - at Z sleeping in, 6.30 would be a lay in for me (sorry had to dash off msn earlier)

Got bits of work to do but its all crappy stuff and keep avaoiding it but really need to get on with it (Lizz thought of you this morning as I had the mystery shopper reports for our 10 branches emailed to me, noone recommended going to another bank though )

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2008 17:29

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$flame$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

yes - UD - I am officially flaming you!
I'd love to have a 6.30am lie in! its been weeks and weeks!

susiecutiebananas · 16/05/2008 17:32

Afternoon all

Lizz- i've missed if its you or Dc with eczema sorry and apologies if you've done any of this, but i'd suggest you try to use and emollient to wash with, and then apply aqueous cream after wards, or a emollient lotion or cream. Use the emollient in the bath too, and when washing hands, basically all the time.

I'm afraid it doesn't smell to great but really good moisturizing really helps with any kind of dermatitis or eczema. Examples of emollients are Diprobase, E45 do a specific emollient cream, erm, epaderm, can't think of them all now! Anyway its worth getting into a really good routine with applying the creams. the good thig about them is they can be applied as often as you want or need to.
Try changing washing powder too.
IIR correctly, many people with eczema actually end up having a food related allergy diagnosed, so unlikely, though worth a try, perhaps as last resort. Waiting lists are pretty long for allergy testing in NHS, so worth getting referred early/now for that- also well worth having done. I wish i had years ago with my Asthma, but put it off.( god only knows why. )
HTH a little, please ask away if you want any more info, i'd be happy to advise

DragonH - well done Ruth!!! SO pleased! I bet thats a little weight off your mind hey? I know you were egining to et worried. Izzy also has only just had her MMR - my fault entirely for forgetting she needed it She has had a little reaction this week, really grumpy, bit pyrexic. Apparently they don't / won't get a reaction ( unless immediate anaphylactic type) for about 10 days post jab... so Izzy started with her temp, grumpy, horrible mood on during the afternoon of my brothers wedding - great planning on my part. So watch out for it, after you've forgotten all about it! - oh, fingers crossed off course that there isn't one!

UD, hope things are bearable for you and getting easier with Hub.

RAt- shit shit shit. I'll call later, SHIT! I'm so angry, so bloody sorry and Stupid selfish shitty arsehole. Fuck. Shall I come and key a bit more on his car?

Sorry, really got to dash now, taken me forever to post, with these girls, Katy ( god she's good at being 3.6 ) is going to her other grandma now. >

Hope anyone i've missed is ok ? will catch up with thread properly when smallest is in bed.

susiecutiebananas · 16/05/2008 18:12

for you to peruse at your leisure LIZZ

HTH a bit more! Says it all far better that I did.

Shimmer · 16/05/2008 22:01

Rat I'm so sorry about all your problems at the moment. It just all sounds so shit I really hope you are hanging on in there and trying to concentrate on a positive future for you and S. I know it's hard to believe just now, but things WILL get easier in time.

Can't remember who said it now, but I TOTALLY agree with whoever said they'd have another LO if they could have it from 6 months. I'm quite broody on and off but really not looking forward to baby stage again. I'd be more than happy to miss all that and start at around 6 months thank you very much .

Lizz you made me PMSL with your FIERCE instructions to RGee to clean! You should become a motivational speaker or something...

susiecutiebananas · 16/05/2008 22:18

Just been thinking about what you guys have been saying about having another one LO, and wanting a 6 month old. I totally get that! However.... I think its pretty normal, especially as ours are all noe pretty much out of that completely dependent stage, ad beginning to be far more independent. Walking around, holding their cups/bottles, trying to feed with spoon, or at least hands...

I think that what usually (or often) happens is, that when they get to about 2yrs or a bit later, alot of women have actually forgotten that first bit, and start to get broody again... then go for it.

I can think of SO many friends and family that have done exactly that. Their 'baby' doesn't need them quite so much, and the thoughts of a tiny weeny little baby creep back in. I think i totally wasted much of those first months, not enjoyig the fact tht you can put them down and they stay where you put them! or that they sleep on and off all day ( well mine didn't but most do don't they?? )

I'd be interested what alot of us with only 1 now, will really be thinking in a year or so. I'd put money on there being a few more LO's o the way, or at least twinkling in the eyes of mummy and daddy...

Anyone want to bet me? ( E&H - not you, or any one else with 2 who've already said deffo no more! )

eandh · 17/05/2008 09:22

I reckon by this time next year the following people will be expecting/have had another

Wilkie
Rgee
SusieCB
UD

obviosuly Vino and Dragon would have had theirs

I can safely say that I dont think me or laughalot will be in the above group

I got really broody when Ellie was 1 and fell pg next month and mc, then fell pg again when she was 16months (and mc ) then finally fell pg with Hattie when Ellie was 19months, looking back now I wish we'd have had a smaller or slightly bigger gap as it was blimmin hard, my friend has a 3yr gap and it seemed to be easier

2Happy · 17/05/2008 15:08

thanks for the info susie - I use diprobase contastantly and the epiderm one too. It just makes no difference though, and now I have it round my eyes, I look like I have miximitosis or something!
I have cut out cheese from my diet for the last couple of weeks thinking it may be dairy related as you are often allergic to the foods which you crave and I have a "problem" with cheese, but the only thing which has happend is its got worse. I am going to attempt to cut out sugar for a bit after we get back from holidays to see if thats it.

In other news....I've got clippers to do DJ's hair with.
Shimmer/UD/Rats/Wilkie/PCF - have you cut DS's hair yet?
He got called a girl yesterday at playgroup. He was wearing combats and a cheeky monkey top, and brown shoes. I would not dress a girl like that! But, his flowing locks have got to go! He looks like a mad professor baby!

SmoothandWilkie · 17/05/2008 19:15

"Hair???! Cut??!! What hair?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!"

Have decided that J is follically challenged!

No - i firmly believe you shouldn't cut a babies' hair until they're two unless it's getting in their eyes - and then you should only cut the fringe so they can see.

tis probably some mad Dutch tradition - i'd love to have a baby with long curls! Z doesn't have much hair, and it's very fine, like mine, with a hint of ginger! Noooooo!!!!!
