March 2007: Babies no longer: the road to Toddlerdom

1000 replies

MrLSG · 01/05/2008 22:50

MrsLSG suggested it, so her it is...

I've observed that calling Toby a baby isn't really accurate anymore, he (as one of the younger March babies - actually being born in April) is now toddlering (or is that staggering?), hence the title of the thread.

Sorry if Dad's aren't allowed around here: But Toby just loved joining in garden football with his big brother and dad earlier tonight.

Sponge hope Lo is a bit better today.{{hugs}}

Rosy, bet you think I'm an anti lateness nutter now

morocco · 11/05/2008 20:44

sorry to hear lo is sick, sponge

congrats katz, very happy for you, it must have been lovely seeing that little heartbeat.

kitty, what was the scan for? sounds stressful

emily is talking! she can say 'no' while wagging her finger, and 'tickle tickle'. pmsl, is v cute. oh yes, and 'ca' for cat. her next word will be 'snail' cos she sees me collecting hundreds every day from the garden and taking them on a long holiday. we are infested with them and I'm desperately trying to grow a few veggies.

yep, our nights are like that too. funny thing is I don't even feel sleep deprived. years of practise. I am like churchill and thatcher and only need 5 minute naps

Rosylily · 11/05/2008 20:50

Kitty I'm a lateness nutter myself! Dh's extreme lateness is an ongoing challenge for me! But he does make half an hour late look like early

Kiwi I made the mistake of wearing a long flowy summer dress to my sisters last week. I had to borrow a blanket to cover my legs/bum to bf Hasan

Rosylily · 11/05/2008 21:00

hi Morocco, tickle tickle was the first proper word Hasan said too! Very cute!

kittywise · 11/05/2008 22:04

Get you with all your talking babies!!

The only thing Ronnie 'says' is "eh-ah" for thank you! At least he's polite

We all went to the swimming pool today. Ron had a great time. Throwing himself under the water, coming up giggling.

I had a tally today and Ronnie had boob about 15 times! That's normal!

Rosy, it must drive you up the bloody wall then!! Hoe do you cope?!

kittywise · 11/05/2008 22:10

morocco, sorry it was for scaring of her kidneys. She had repeated uti's between the ages of 2 1/2 and 4 and the dr's didn't pick up on it properly until she ended up hospitalised on intravenous ab's for 5 days .

They said she has reflux in her kidneys which cause infection ( reasonably common apparantly)

She still (at 6) has some infections and has trouble recognising the signs for when she needs the loo.
So we are back up to the hospital to see how her kidneys are doing.( you did ask!)

kittywise · 11/05/2008 22:11

SCARRING not Scaring, well maybe her kidneys have had a fright

Rosylily · 12/05/2008 07:22

Kitty according to luscher colour test I'm 'emotionally detatched' from my partner

Ds2 had to be on antibiotics for the first 6 weeks of life with suspected reflux to try and avoid any possible kidney problems.
He got the all clear but I suspect that the 6 weeks of antibiotics as his introduction to the world didn't help with the allergies and excema he has now.

Hasan may be talking but he ain't walking! And he probably takes 15 slurps too, I must count!

evenhope · 12/05/2008 13:32

No talking here. Just staggering about like a drunk (DD not me )

In the last couple of days we've been back to BF every couple of hours through the night and she has BF 5 or 6 times this morning already. I'm getting sore again..

spongecake · 12/05/2008 21:25

hi all- had another horrid day- up with lo in night bf- then he threw up all over me, the floor and rockingchair. we had to shower, clean, it was awful. and this am just when dh had gone he threw up all over me, him and the sofa. this time we both got in the bath. he had been runny tummy clear til about 7 today (AFTER HIS BATH) but after he had some bread- he just exploded. poor love was straight into the bath. he had umanaged soup lunch and a bit of bread, so hoping its not coming back. he hasn't eaten for nearly 5 days now. doc at hop yesterday said nothing he can do, just bf and water.

to make matters worse, i now have bad runs and haven't eaten for 2 days. feel so awful, just sick all the time.

Rosylily · 13/05/2008 06:06

Aw sponge that is awfull. I hope you all get better soon.
We all had tummy bugs in Pakistan and after...it's a messy business!
At least he is taking bm but keep your own fluids up too.

kittywise · 13/05/2008 07:16

sponge, when Ron was ill last month he had over 2 weeks of nothing but BM. He had sickness and the runs and got even thinner than he is normally!!

I know that Bertie was ill too

Hope today is a better day for you both

TheBlonde · 13/05/2008 11:22

sponge - hope things improve, sounds dreadful for you both

Divastrop · 13/05/2008 11:46

sponge-hope things improve soon.when my ds1 and dd1 were little i used to get every bug they got.its hard enough looking after a lo who's ill but when you are ill youreelf its nigh on impossible.
when my ds2 had rotavirus as a baby he had nothing but water(and very little of that) for about 5 days.at least if he is bf he's getting plenty of nutrients, its the best thing really

fitfox · 13/05/2008 18:24

[hugs] Sponge and baby sponge

kayzisexpecting · 13/05/2008 19:24

Hello.

Sorry I havent been on for a few days. Had a busy weekend at my mums as we had family friends coming to visit. Then we went to the beach yesterday.

I hope everyone is ok.

evenhope · 13/05/2008 21:39

sponge sorry to hear you and DS are so rough. Hope you're better soon.

kiwibella where did you hear about the BF in London on Friday? I've been trying to find out about it but there's nothing on the internet. Is it still on?

fitfox · 13/05/2008 22:15

Hi How is mini sponge?

Kitty - Monti still feeds about 10-11 times ecah day

I just keep thinking that this must reduce my risk of cancer, oesteo-wotsit, brittle bones etc when I reach 100!! Pus don't forget all those calories he is consming!! Monti has cellulite everywhere inlcuding his chest!!

Had a teeth brace fitted today

Had a fabby swim

Not heard about the job yet

Got my Sun Holidays booking - fabbest Parc in Cornwall with kids activities, swimming pools, sauna, jacuzzi, beach, eateries etc

Monti says "Mem", Dada, nightmare, same as before, but makes lots of expressive little comments in Monti-lese

Impressed at Finn's vocab

Kiwi how are things with your DH?

Bethoo - haydens sleep pattern

Rosy[waves]!!

kittywise · 14/05/2008 07:08

Foxy, the hol sounds fab. You've done really well searching it out!

Why do you need a dental brace/

Well, I can't understand why Ron has NO fat. I must be making skimmed milk or something, whereas you foxy are obviously a true full fat jersey

Rosylily · 14/05/2008 11:11

Hi Everyone!

Hasan is pushing a toy lawnmower in the garden and making a mower noise as he goes
He took 8 steps in one go this morning, an all time new record for him!

I am loving this lovely weather!

fitfox · 14/05/2008 12:36

Aww Hasan sounds such a cutey pie!!!

Kitty - LOL at skimmed milk. I have twisty front teeth, so I have this new type of brace which only takes 4-16 weeks to work. Lucious dentist reckons it will take 12 weeks for my twisties to untwist themselves.

Divastrop · 14/05/2008 21:03

foxy-do you look like a teenager now?

i had those awful train-track braces when i was 17-19.

dh is ill and may not be able to look after the lo's tomorrow so i may have to cancel my group therapy.i dont understand why women just have to get on with it when ill, though?

kiwibella · 14/05/2008 21:31

a very quick question - I think Kate is constipated, lots of stressing and agonising screaming!! Can anyone suggest something to help her along?

LunarSea · 14/05/2008 21:51

kiwi - prune juice (you'll probably need to dilute it though).

Jaysfinished · 14/05/2008 22:27

waves
