aaargh
just made T's hedgehog cake, as I was putting the flour back in the cupboard I realised it was plain not SR. What an idiot. Maybe I can claim it's roadkill hedgehog cake?
No, didn't think so, off to make another

Hi octo!

StealthPolarBear · 03/05/2008 17:42

oh and if it's not made quick I'll have eaten all the ears

StealthPolarBear · 03/05/2008 17:48

OK roadkill cake is rising, what on earth is going on??

mammyjo · 03/05/2008 18:59

Lol at roadkill cake

Hi Octo

cazboldy · 03/05/2008 19:23

Hi octo

and everyone else

How's the cake SPB?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 03/05/2008 19:45

very quiet on here today, all out enjoying the sunshine?

No photos yet mj, keeping this one to myself for a while
(actually just a bit unsure in case I have lurkers after Telegraph piece, and don't want to 'out' us at work yet!)

Justin did tell me they had split up, but then they got back together. I have spent the last week thinking long and hard about what to do, I have had apologies from him and her (although I had to apologise for the fact I left the front door open while carrying Joe and his bag ). I'd quite happily have told him to piss off, but that wouldn't have been right for J. He has promised me that he realises this is his last chance, and if it goes wrong now he won't ask me to try again. It seemed to go ok, we were all civil to each other at least. J wasn't very happy at being left, but hopefully he'll get better as he gets used to them. I did feel quite sorry for her, I have mentioned before that she has had 2 miscarriages (and the fact that I don't think it fair to J that they are even thinking about a baby is neither here nor there), turns out that J's room is the one that would have been the nursery. If the first pg had continued the baby would be about 5 months old now, and the 2nd one would be due in June. It must be heartbreaking for her to see me with Justin's child in her nursery. He is a right numpty at times

Hi all,

Mooched around the house and went to the library knitting group today. Feel I've made some progress in remembering what I learn from one week to the next - I might even start knitting something real soon!

LOL at SPB's roadkill cake - have you made another one? Hope first doesn't go to waste. I'm about to start trying to make a cake myself, but it will be a Victoria sponge. Had a panic earlier about not having a mixing bowl - we don't cook much that can't be chucked straight in a pan or cooking tray - but dp pointed out that one of our fruitbowls should work.

POTC, I feel sad for all of you except Justin when I read the latest bits about this.

oooggs · 03/05/2008 20:18

we have had lovely weather all day

between us we managed to sort out the front garden (it now looks like someone lives here )

PillockOfTheCommunity · 03/05/2008 20:18

I don't have M tomorrow so we won't be able to come to the party elkie, but I hope it goes well

Evening loves.

POTC, Surprised J and the gf are back together. Each to their own tho. Can understand gf being a bit off with 2 mc's.

Elkie, you make me smile re your knitting! My gran taught me to knit, but I could only ever do scarves!!

Hi Oooggs. On the wine this evening?

Hi MJ, Caz, Octo and all you other lovelies.

B had a great time at the party. My friend had hired an adult fairy who did dancing, games etc with the girls.

Dh out for the evening so I am eating crap and watching crap TV - LOVE IT!

Got some "friends" coming over tomorrow. I know it sounds awful, but we met them when we lived abroad, and have stayed in touch, but I am not that keen on them

SOL runs off ashamed at having admitted that.

oooggs · 03/05/2008 20:44

hi sol - no wine tonight I'm too shattered - busy day. DH is working and I am going to mn & watch mindless tv

Sexonlegs · 03/05/2008 20:49

I am not on the wine either! Also shattered. Hoping dh will let me have a lie in tomorow.

What are you watching?

oooggs · 03/05/2008 21:03

just about to watch Holby city on replay and if I can stay awake may watch Holby Blue as well

I watch some really interesting stuff

no chance of a lie in here as dh running the half marathon tomorrow

StealthPolarBear · 03/05/2008 22:02

Hi all
wow at your DH oooggs, hope he enjoys it
elkie - I have very recently invested in a mixing bowl and cake tin, until a month or so ago we didn't own either and I used to do any mixing in a salad bowl!
T has had diarrhoea again, suspect nappies all day, last one very bad. DH's first reaction was to take him out of nursery, and calmly talking it through hasn't changed his opinion. There does seem to be a link between the days he goes and him getting ill, and I'm inclined to agree with DH. We assume they're not washing his hands/keeping them out of pooey nappies. That, as well as the other niggly things I've mentioned make us want to try him somewhere else. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is there any chance the ABs (he had the last dose on Thursday night) could have built up in his system and caused this? (he didn't have any bad nappies while actually on them)

elkiedee · 04/05/2008 00:22

Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh

Cake made, needs icing. D awake and teething. Very very nasty argument, think it's all over between us.

CaptainDippy · 04/05/2008 07:50

Happy Birthday Charlie & Danny!! Hope you have super day's. Enjoy your picnic, Elkie

I haven't really caught up that much ; I did enjoy reading your Birthday messages for little P though and I hd a good chuckle at Pillock's pics of J & P .... It was soooo lovely to see Pillock and her boys and to meet the infamous SofaBoy and to see Eca and T as well. Thank you soooo much for coming guys! P had a lovely Birthday and the holiday was completely exhausting and frustrating; but it was good to get away and I think a change of scenery did us good

Can't belive my baby is 1!!!!!

I am absolutely @ Vio's news ....... over the moon ...... another one blubbing here!!

Right, well I had best get up and dressed as we're off to church for breakfast soon and then we're meeting my BF and her DC's for a picnic at the Mini Railway this pm ......

PillockOfTheCommunity · 04/05/2008 08:10

oh Elkie

Perhaps it's just the stress of today getting to you both, hoping things settle down for you x

StealthPolarBear · 04/05/2008 08:16

oh elkie how are you doing today?
Sending you hugs, as long as Pillock isn't watching ;)

Happy Birthday to Danny and Charlie

elkiedee · 04/05/2008 08:27

Well, we've sort of patched things up but I'm still upset. D has a huge number of teeth coming through at the same time and it's obviously really hurting him. He woke up very distressed, we were both trying all sorts of things to comfort him with mixed success, he seemed to go back to sleep and then woke up and dp started to have a go at me.

Happy birthday Charlie.

StealthPolarBear · 04/05/2008 08:45

Poor you elkie It sounds as though your DP lashes out when he's stressed. Hope you can enjoy D's birthday
Well we had more D&V through the night. Will this ever end?

cazboldy · 04/05/2008 09:10

Happy Birthday Danny and Charlie

Elkie - enjoy Danny's birthday. hope you sort things out. x

Nice to see you back Dippy.

Pesha · 04/05/2008 09:20

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE AND DANNY!!!!!

Elkie - glad things are seeming better for you and dp this morning, hope you can sort things out. Hope party goes well

SPB - sorry if you've said before but have you tried keeping a food diary for T? I think if you have reservations about the nursery then you should definitely trust your instincts and try and find another one. Parental instincts are incredibly powerful things!

POTC - glad things went ok with Justin and gf. Need to talk to you about new man and find out the latest!!

Dippy - glad hol was good as can be expected.

SOL - sorry bout the sale.

Liath have fun up he mountain!

GM - hope party goes/went ok (sorry cant remember what of everything I've just read was friday or yesterday!! )

D having very dodgy nappies today. Over the last week he seems to be really losing his appetite and yesterday ate very little. Am kind of relieved that it might just be a tummy bug actually!

Got my new car on Friday, its LUSH!!! I LOVE it!! I'm soo gonna get some points on my licence!!

Went out with my friend J on Friday. Was mostly a really good night, we both got VERY drunk, walked down town and somewhere along the line picked up a couple of random men who were walking with us and chatting. Got some cheesey chips and sat on some steps by taxi place to eat them. Random man 1 was being flirty with J and there was some ahem touching going on so I got up and walked a few steps away to talk to RM2 (should say J is blind so we're normally holding arms all time), looked round and he'd pulled her up to standing, not sure quite what happened but they lost balance, fell over and she smacked her head on the wall. Thought she was ok at first but soon realised it was bleeding alot. There was taxi opposite so we walked over and said she needs to goi A&E and the fucker drove off So when I saw another one coming I walked down middle of road in front of it with my arms out to stop it, like you do when you're drunk Anyway got to hospital and she had to have 5 stitches RM1&2 were very good though, paid for taxiand hung around to make sure she ok, although RM1 kept going on how bad it looked when I was trying to talk it down so she didn't panic RM2 threw away my cheesey chips though and I'd only had about 2 of them, I was not impressed! Didn't get to bed til 5am in the end. Am feeling quite guilty about it all.

D def not well

Sexonlegs · 04/05/2008 09:20

Morning all.

Happy Birthday Danny and Charlie

Elkie, I am sorry you and dp are having a rough time. I hope it doesn't spoil this special day for you. x

Dippy good to see you back

SPB, not more d and v I don't know your nursery, but I would be surprised if the standards were not good, as it would not be in their best interest iyswim.

Have you thought about keeping a food diary?

My friend at work (and I know this is different cos she is obv not a baby)kept being ill, and linked it eventually to olive oil. So, any time anything was cooked in it, she was violently sick.

Maybe worth looking at, as I would have thought T's immune system would actually be reasonably good now to not catch as many bugs.

How is averyone else?

All ok here. Went to bed early whist dh was out and was granted a lie in this morning

Better get my arse in gear.

Sexonlegs · 04/05/2008 09:23

Morning Pesha/Pisha!!

I thought you referred to Randy Man as opposed to Random Man! Sounds like a fun night, apart from the A+E trip.

StealthPolarBear · 04/05/2008 09:34

What's up with D Pesha?
I haven't kept a food diary, T really does eat a very limited diet at the moment (e.g. yesterday was toast and butter, banana, bread, porridge and banana with some dried fruit as snacks) that I really don't think it can be diet related. Of course I don't know what they're feeding him at nursery.
Think we're going to remove him anyway, if he carries on being ill at least we will know that the problem is either more serious or dietary related.
