apologise ladies as this willbe self absorbed again.

BIL rung and asked to speak to dh he said they've(SIL & BIL) been arguing about life, how tough it is, both working(first time for them as she's been SAHM since ds born, he's 10 next week) anyway suprise suprise upshot is that they can't have dc anymore. Fine but I don't know wtf to do. I can't afford a nursery for them both, well i maybe could if dd stops preschool for the other 3 days a week so she's free, but not keen as she loves it there. They only do mornings so can't up her preschool sessions. I rang 2 nurseries today re Jan and 1 has no vaccancies and the other said they'd ring back and haven't. I will ring all the childminders but i'm just not hopeful

I could work more from home as work have said that would be ok, but i hate working from home and am crap at sticking to it. I can't not work as we won't have enough money. I could work in tesco but that'd mean more hours for less pay, strangely i'm not keen

It feels like when i was on ml trying to figure out childcare and panicking my ass off. It's not their fault. having a job as sil does working from 7-10 then having my dc 12.15-5.30 and her dc after school, it must be hard. I just don't know what i'll do. I felt so positive at the start of the week and now i'm trying not to cry(and failing)

sorry

CaptainDippy · 07/05/2008 19:23

I've put the note through their door.

I'm scared now - eeeek!

CaptainDippy · 07/05/2008 19:26

Will have a think / chat with DH and see if we can come up with any options for you .xx

Eddas · 07/05/2008 19:37

thanks cd dh trying his best to think of something but not sure what's gonna happen i feel pathetic crying over childcare but it's not that. it the money as always.

StealthPolarBear · 07/05/2008 19:56

Eddas - so sorry this has happened I would go for the owrking from home option but be disciplined. Would you need to look after DC while you work though?

cazboldy · 07/05/2008 20:23

oh dear Eddas

sorry for your situation. is there no way you could be a sahm, maybe by cutting back a bit, just for a while, until dd goes to school and then working around that, so you only have 1 lot of childcare to pay for?

oooggs · 07/05/2008 20:29

oh eddas hope someone comes up with something soon, 8 mths til dd starts school, so we are looking at between now and Christmas

caz - positive vibes for tomorrow

ellie - hope you managed to get to nursery on time

NL - hope things going well

sol - last night was just as crap (maybe a tad bit worse)

gm - hope your black mood is lifting

very hot here, been for a picnic after work it was lovely, HIB jabs tomorrow [joy]

cazboldy · 07/05/2008 20:32

thanks oooggs.

oooggs · 07/05/2008 20:39

you are very welcome caz, I know how much worry we I went through just waiting to hear which school, nevermind going to appeal and waiting

Eddas · 07/05/2008 21:05

i'm not sure i could do all my hours(15) from home as I would need to go to the office to pick up work and drop off, plus various other thigns so 1 day from home and another at the office may work. A nursery i'm looking at, the day is 8-6 so i could do more hours than normal(7 1/2) in that day at work. I would have to work round the children if working from home.

I have just thought of the SAHM thing caz. I'm gonnas ring HMRC tomorrow. I've looked before and would be entitled to a bit more, i think, and we have some money coming soon that was earmarked for other things but i suggested to dh that we use it to live for the moment. Plus we pay into something which stops this month or next so that's extra cash. Plus in dec we finish paying the tv, so things wll get a bit easier i'm sure we could cut down on food etc. Also if i'm not travelling to work there's less fuel.

it just needs thinking about. looking at figures. Also if i were to stop work i could try the self employed route as i'm sure work would recommend me.

As dh just said. Maybe it's a good thing i know if we get really stuck my nan would lend me some money. which reminds me i have to go and see her soon.

thansk for all your help. sorry to be so self absorbed but i just can;t think of anything else atm

StealthPolarBear · 07/05/2008 21:42

Sounds a bit more positive Eddas.
One other thought - what about a childminder when your DD is not in preschool (as you said she'd have to stop, presumably so she can go FT somewhere else)?
Sorry if I've misunderstood. It sounds so hard!

Sexonlegs · 07/05/2008 21:52

Hi loves

Eddas, oh dear But, you are sounding positive so that is good. Hope you get something sorted.

Caz, good luck for tomorrow.

Ellie, hope you got to nursery ok.

Oh Oooggs Another glass of wine???

GM, hope you are feeling brighter.

CD, good luck with the neighbours!!

SPB,hope you are feeling brighter too.

Well, I went to Body Sculpt. Thankfully they had air con, so not too sweaty!

Feel knackered tho.

geordieminx · 07/05/2008 22:01

Can anyone tell me what the discount code is for bumpto3?

I cant view it on the laptop for some reason. Abbymumsnet is trying to sort it out but I need to order C a new sleepy bag.

Eddas · 07/05/2008 22:06

sol, exercise

SPB, not many(ie 1) childminders do drop off/pick ups from dd's school(when she starts) so i doubt any would do the preschool run so she'd have to go to nursery for a full day, which could be free(as she's over3) if she used her free allowance there but if i then wanted her to go to preschool the days i don't work i'd have to pay. not sure that made sense. but 3 and 4 year olds get 12.5 hours free care IYSWIM.

If i can find a childminder with space[ha ha] then they may be able to have ds fulltime and dd afternoons but because she's under 5 they may not want to or may charge more. Plus then i'd have to get her from preschool to the cm, if they won't pick up.

See what i mean, it's a nightmare >> and the worst thing is because i'm like i am i won't sleep tonight i wil try but when things are buzzing round my head i don't want to eat(had no lunch and little dinner tongiht) and can't sleep. Luckily i had a good sleep last night i wish i coudl turn my brain off

Doobydoo · 08/05/2008 07:56

Sexonlegs · 08/05/2008 07:57

Morning all.

Eddas, hope you slept ok last night. x

How is everyone?

I ache. I have pulled muscles where I never knew I had muscles!!

K made me laugh. She had a bottle of milk just now. She finished it and had a huge paddy. Gave her a beaker of water - she took a slug of it, gave me a look and dribbled it out the side of her mouth!
She is starting to have real tantrums. She will lie down on her front and cry if she can't have something.

Off to work soon, so see yu later. xx

Sexonlegs · 08/05/2008 07:59

OOOO...POTC.WHERE

PillockOfTheCommunity · 08/05/2008 11:04

no idea yet!
we're planning to take a holiday 6th - 11th July with the boys, and I suggested Ireland as I've always wanted to go there, it's possible to take M on a plane to get there, and it's not so far I'll get jet-lag and the scary consequences of that affecting my Narcolepsy!

Any suggestions?

Doobydoo · 08/05/2008 11:11

Well there is soooo much to see over here. There is Co.Kerry with the lakes and Dingle with the dolphin.
There is West Cork with dolphins etc and Blarney Stone.
Where I am is Co.Waterford[they call it the suuny southeast]and there are beaches, forests, etc. Not hugely touristy.
Will you have transport
