Hi folks.

Someone say wine????

GM, sounds like you are both better Glad C likes his hoover. I was thinking of buying K one.

Oooggs, here's hoping you get a better night tonight!

Hi Dippy!

Caz, how did it go?

All good here. B has been to a friends after school today and had a great time.
Both in bed- B having books with dh and K shouting/chatting in her cot!

Been boiling hot here today - 26 degrees !

oooggs · 06/05/2008 19:23

caz - how did you get on

hot here too

glad C like the hoover - maybe I should get dh one

CaptainDippy · 06/05/2008 19:41

Hope eveything went ok for Caz today, have been thinking of her. xx

Does the hoover actually pick up dirt, GM!!?

Off out to a meeting .... the joys ......

liath · 06/05/2008 19:44

Lovely weather here too - couldn't find sunscreen, realised dd doesn't have a summer hat that fits - it seems to have gone from winter straight into summer and I'm totally unprepared . I love this time of year so much, all the greenery and cherry blossom everywhere .

Luce, have you been to this place at all? www.fivesisterszoo.co.uk/index.php
Hope you're feeling better - there have been some rotten bugs around lately.

Am keeping my fingers crossed - moved dd in with ds tonight so I really hope it works out as she has been in our room since The Firework Incident in November .

Hope everyone is OK, caz - really hope today went well. NL - how's the packing up etc??

StealthPolarBear · 06/05/2008 19:49

so pissed off at the momebt. We never have any time sleep or fun. I want my life back

oooggs · 06/05/2008 20:06

oh katy - you do seem to be getting it rough

geordieminx · 06/05/2008 20:07

I've not been Liath but it look good - have you been to east links farm at dunbar?

Sorry things are rubbish at the moment SPB.. Can you take some time off work? Sounds like you could do with some chill out time?

elkiedee · 06/05/2008 20:11

gm, lol at C's hoover. D's favourite birthday present was a dustpan and brush of his very own, courtesy of grandpa.

geordieminx · 06/05/2008 20:13

this is the one

It can hoover up wee polysterene balls but I binned them as they are tiny and C would eat them

liath · 06/05/2008 20:36

Well the room sharing got off to a good start , ds only just stopped bawling afetr an hour of screeching, me up & down like a yoyo. Dd bless her stayed in bed the whole time with only the occasional "Jonny's being a pain isn't he mummy?"

GMM, i was at East LInks today - have memebrship so am there a lot. It's brilliant - have you taken C yet? Ds was fascinated by the sheep today!

SPB - you will get your life back, you've had a really bad run lately. They start to get so much more fun around 15 months or so. In a bizarre way, though it's been having a second child that's really made me enjoy motherhood but it's a rather drastic method!!

Eddas · 06/05/2008 20:50

Liath, your comment about the 2nd making you enjoy it is so true for me(although not lately) i think you just trust yourself more.

SPB it will get better and the lack of sleep is definately a killer. I've been really lucky with mine > but I am shocking without sleep.

NL, thanks for the much needed hug

Caz, hope today went well and dh managed to get back in time.

Gm, dd had one of those hoovers with the little balls. i took them away too but am fairly sure they are safely stored away for 'when she gets bigger' since I can't throw anything out

oooggs, hope you get a better night tonight

eca, thanks for your kind words. I know(i think) that i'm not crap it's just the way i feel am being much more positive atm

Hi to all those i've missed

Not much to report here. Ds been a sod today at sil's she has a new puppy and ds not liking the babygate, although he's fine with ours. DD was a horror when I collected her from preschool, kicking off about me going to work and leaving her at her auntys miraculously cheered up once sil mentioned seeing the puppy and was as good as anything all day

Sexonlegs · 06/05/2008 21:27

Kids eh. Who'd have 'em!!??

SPB, you have been through so much recently. Children are hard work at the best of times, and poor T has been pretty poorly. Have you managed to speak to the docs again? Or the nursery? Perhaps a meeting with the nursery manager?

I feel for you I really do.

I have to echo what Eddas and Liath have said. I am LOVING being a mum second time around.

Hi Liath Hope the aches have now gone after your mountain exertions!

Eddas, fab to hear you sounding more upbeat. Always makes me smile when you talk about your dd, as her and B seem to have been cut from the same cloth!

liath · 06/05/2008 21:35

Not entirely, SOL.

Possibly becuase I decided to sledge down a patch of snow on my bottom but picked up so much speed and it was so wet and muddy that I went careering down the hillside on my arse....

Eddas, sorry you've been having a bad patch lately too. The trouble with motherhood is there's so little time left over to look after your own needs which is fine if you're on top of things but not so fine when you're a bit low. As for couple time .....

Sexonlegs · 06/05/2008 21:42

Liath, I nearly spat my tea out laughing at the vision created!!! Hilarious

Yeah, couple time ..... what is that?

Me and dh are off for a weekend together in a couple of weeks' time. The last time was mid December.

Where is POTC?? She having some "couple time"?

Sexonlegs · 06/05/2008 21:43

Shhhh is looking for WeeOnion on another thread.

StealthPolarBear · 06/05/2008 21:53

Sorry everyone, just having a rant! Thanks for being nice to me.
liath - snow??
Think I will have to get T a mini hoover as therapy
Well we have taken him out of nursery, and made enquiries about the other one, am meeting the manager tomorrow and will obv want another look round but they don't think it will be a problem for him to start in a week or two, obviously after settling in. Spoke to the HV, she seems to think this is normal . on the plus side he seems to be getting better, only one bad nappy today (which mum had the pleasure of changing), no vomit, no temp and snottiness seems to be settling. He was so tired, has been fast asleep for about 40 minutes, but has been almost his usual happy self again We'll see how long it lasts this time!

Sexonlegs · 06/05/2008 22:03

SPB, please don't apologise. This is what we are here for.

Really hope you can get something sorted for T that you are happy with, and that he is back to good health v soon.

Hope you can get a break somehow.

Off to bed - as ever, I am knackered!

Night all. xx

PillockOfTheCommunity · 06/05/2008 22:32

Oooooh, "couply weekend" Pillock .... tell us more

It is not normal SPB - don't let your HV fob you off. Here for you sweetie. xx

Just had to break into my house again .... will I ever learn!!!?

cazboldy · 07/05/2008 10:45

POTC - sorry haven't replied. I have run out of credit, and dh hasn't been paid yet!

Well. dh got there in time, and I think it went as well as can be expected but I won't know until tomorrow. fingers crossed, but I don't hold out loads of hope. They just didn't seem to get it. One of them asked me what I do with the babies when I take the older ones to school what did he think I did? leave them home alone or something? And quite what that had to do with ds1 and his schooling, I don't know, but here's hoping anyway!

Thank you all so much for all your good wishes, and for thinking of us

NL - Really hope that the move goes smoothly!

Charlie has a toy hoover from elc and he loves it, but have recently had a better idea! You will all probably think i am really mean but I bought him one of those cheap ones ( a real one) from tesco for £24.99 and of course it actually sucks, and doesn't need an endless supply of batteries, and best of all he is actually doing some good when he plays with it!

Doobydoo · 07/05/2008 11:19

Hi All.Sorry still haven't had chance to do proper catch up.Typing whilst M whinges in bed.
Hope all is ok with you Cazre pay for you.Hope move is going ok NL.HUrrah for teeth Cd.
M is proper poorly. He has an old mans cough and we are wading through rivers of snot.
I bought a few clothes first time since sometime last year and we went to wildlife park which means we now have to be careful with money for rest of month...it is mad.
Can't get ds1 into primary we want so will have to rethink. They will keep us on books but don't want to move on the off chance.
M funny at docs yesterday he dosen't really klike strangers but was quite taken with a tall old man with walking sticks and a mother superior!Maybe he will be a priest
Our doctor is scared of M as he has a tendancy to hold his breath when he touches him..didn't yeaterday tho'.So must be feeling rough.
I want some FUN.and to be the recipient of a windfall/Then I will buy a camper and we can sod off.Trying to do things the,so called, right way is too damn hard.
Will try and get on later.
Take care all.Soz for whinge

CaptainDippy · 07/05/2008 11:58

Really hope you get the result you want Caz. xx Not mean at all - bloody good idea about the hoover imho - my older 2 LOVE "playing" with our Dustbuster .... sucking up all the crap left on the floor after meals!!

Shame about Primary Dooby Humph.

Right, P whinging in cot so best go feed her before picking other 2 up from Pre-School, taking all three to nursery and then off to work ...... it never ends - NCT meeting tonight as well .... goodness me!!

Still want to hear about your weekend POTC - don't think you've "got off lightly"!? Did you get my post btw!!?

Don't jump the gun either ..... I only said P might be getting teeth because of snot and dribble, I didn't say she actually had any!!!
