Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BTKsmum · 09/07/2008 13:31

Hi girls, I'm still alive too!!!

Have just been really busy and got another year older last weekend, which was amusing if slightly odd as I took dh and the boys to Bovington Tank musuenm in Dorset to see the tanks obviously, and for them to take part in the war gaming exhibition. The idea being I'd get the rest of the day to myself. Needless to say, bad traffic, pants weather etc meant I got 2 hours free, most of which was spent driving backwards and forwards from Bournemouth. Still they had a good time

My girlie friends bought me a lovely present of an appointment at our local plush hairdressers, I looked at the prices and nearly fell over, I'll be paying morw for one hair cut than I normally pay for 3

Dh and the boys bought me some lovely presents and tickets to see Kung Fu Panda on the Sunday, think that might have been more for them again but it was quite good and Ds2 sat right through it only asking to go home 15 mins from the end and hey thats what motherhood is all about isn't it!

Other news, DS1 got a fantastic school report and we are very proud of him, bought him an easel as a reward and he has been creating many a masterpiece. DS2 is coming on leaps and bound and knows all his colours and is counting to 10 which is a marked improvement on a couple of months ago, he has more "old chat" than is good for him and like you CHacha I am constantly being reminded of my slip ups at the most embarrassing times!

Have been asked to do a magic / entertaining show for ds1's class and the other year one class next week and have also been asked to be the village jester / magician at the village free entertainment afternoon on the friday - eek!

Then it will be all steam ahead for our holiday - I can't wait!!!

Not sure if I'm brave enough to say this out loud, but am planning on meeting up with Panda over the holidays [reduces voice to a whisper] if anyone wants to come too

Nova I'm sure you'll knock them dead on Saturday and your weekend sounded excellent. Goodluck with the room sharing!!!

Chacha glad the antenatal thread is giving you some support and the room sharing sounds really sweet.

Brownie hope the weather improves for you this weekend, our school has actually postponed sports day this week because its so wet. Will keep everything crossed for you.

Hi to everyone not mentioned and lurking spk soon Beks

Rodeo · 09/07/2008 18:38

Hi!
Sorry to be a stranger, don't seem to have much time at the mo. Think I'm going through a miserable phase, sure I'll snap out of it soon but this rainy weather doesn't help!
Nova, snap on the testing patience, Jess has turned into such a whiner! As Chacha said, I always find the year from 2.5-3.5 the hardest, they seem to loose all their compliance and feel the need to assert their independence all the time! Finding her a handful at the minute (albeit a mini one ) But it will pass. Found her and her partner in crime (best friend Izzy) upstairs with the sudocreme yesterday. It was everywhere, they both looked like bloody Casper the friendly ghost Have fab reunion, you'd look great in a binbag
Beks, glad you had a nice (but busy!) birthday! Sounds like you have lovely friends, enjoy your haircut!
We had a pool party for Bella on Sat which was fab! When & where are your hols? Still a while before ours!
Chacha, nice to hear your news, have you a date yet? I forget you're pg half the time, you never moan about it like we used to on our ante-natal
Panda, hope things have improved with G2, your hair on your profile page looks amazing BTW, meant to say that ages ago!
Brownie, I got it off ebay, mine's back on there at the mo! If it doesn't sell I could send it to you if youd like?
Right better go, completely the wrong time of day to be on here if I want the kids to have an early night, but if I don't post now, I won't get round to it! x x x

mypandasgotcrabs · 09/07/2008 21:16

Hi Rodeo, good to hear from you, I think I remember you saying once before that you think you may suffer a little from SAD?

Lol Beks at hairdresser prices, I almost did that when I had mine cut the other week, but the opposite way round. My old haidressers it used to cost me over £50, this time it wsa only £20, had to ask her to repeat it cos I thought I'd misheard!

ChaCha, glad you're getting some rest from time to time, can't imagine how hard it must be with 2 LO's as well.

Nova, good luck with the room move, my 2 are in together, even though we now have the extra bedroom, so I have that as a playroom for them. Rodeo beat me to it by saying that you'd look amazing in a black bag!

BB, good luck with camp, hope the weathers a lot better than it is atm. You'll be surprised with the fancy dress. When we go out, the guys often join in, even with bunny night the other week & lots of us out that night didn't even know the birthday girl!

ds2 has been coming out with some things today that could have been very embarrassing in the wrong company! G2 called him a vandal and he replied with 'no me horny', kept saying this, then I realised he was saying 'me Seany'! Then I'd knelt down, he climbed on my back and was saying 'mummy whore, mummy whore!', took me a while to stop laughing & explain he was saying horse!

G2's seeking loads of legal advice etc atm. If my head was in control, then I'd stay away until things were sorted, as my bf says if we're meant to be, then it will work out, but my heart has taken over completely and I can't stay away/tell him to stay away. Everything with him feels so right, I can completely relax with him & him with me. There's no awkwardness, nothing, just feels, well...right!

ChaCha, are you able to count down the days yet?

Love to all xx

Rodeo · 11/07/2008 13:49

Afternoon
it's throwing it down here. Joe just got to do his sports day this morning, he was brill, even his teacher came over to tell me what a good sportsman he was After we took him to the doctors to see about a rash he's had on his neck for a week, which is shingles apparently. Oops. And he's been at school all this time so has probably been infecting his school mates with chicken pox. Double oops!
Have a lovely time having your hair done Panda, looking forward to pics LOL at S's inappropriate outbursts! Feel a bit better today thanks, have paid the balance on our holiday so feeling excited about that. Doing a 10k tonight so a bit of exercise should blow the last of the cobwebs out! Have good last day
One of the horses I ride has been at the vets overnight, she's not been completely sound for a while, and she's got athritis in her feet, poor thing. She'll need steroid injections and a little time off but she should come sound again, so not all bad. In the meantime there is 4 others for me to ride have you had any more lessons lately Nova?
Yes Chacha, any news?! x x x

ChaCha · 11/07/2008 14:52

Hey guys....
I will catch up with the new posts tonight - not sociable chacha today at all.

Baby should be delivered on 4 August all going to plan, so another 3 weeks away Just don't feel i can last that long am in so much pain and am the most miserable person i know. My SPD is just unbearable and i'm really not feeling myself - sorry for being a real bore.

Have iron transfusions scheduled Wed, Fri and Sunday of next week so hopefully these will help. Think sometimes my lack of iron this PG has a lot to do with my tiredness and state of well being.

If anything is clear it's that i am v.much looking fwd to this baby at least to be out of this pain.

Love you all, talk soon xx

novadandypowder · 11/07/2008 15:05

And if I ever had any doubt that two babies was enough for me.....Chacha has cured it!! I wish I were closer so I could offer some help Chacha, big hugs x

BTKsmum · 11/07/2008 20:24

Ohh Chacha you poor thing, hope the iron transfusions make you feel better and that you manage to get plenty of rest, hope the mothers help is still as good as she was before and amusing the boys as much as possible.

Yay glad its the 4th then hopefully I won't miss the announcement as we get back from holiday late the night before, bet you go and have this one while I'm away though :D If it is the 4th then bump will share my aunts b'day and she'll be 70 that day and shes a great character so its a good day to be born!

Have had an uneventful week here this week as I've been laid low with the d&v bug that all my friends have had, so we've been home a lot, was supposed to go on a mums night out tonight but the thought of rich food and alcohol even just a glass made me turn green

DH is taking T to see Lazytown live tomorrow as he absolotuely adores Sportacus and Robbie Rotten (thats T not dh by the way!)

Right its all quiet on the western front, dh is out, T's asleep and B's in bed reading so I'm gonna head for the shower and watch crap tv and play around on facebook for the evening. Hope you all have a good weekend and lets keep our fingers crossed that Brownie gets good weather and not turned into a drowned rat Beks

novadandypowder · 12/07/2008 08:01

lol at the thought of your DH asking sportacus to sign his chest, beks! Noo loves Lazytown too, quite a recent thing, although she's also become quite a tv addict in general. I have to be very strict about viewing, there's absolutely none before nursery until she's had her afternoon nap. Even then I try to organise things to do in the afternoon so she's not stuck in front of it. Must admit at the weekends it's a life saver though, and I'm sure DH will let them watch far too much while I'm away from this afternoon until tomorrow lunchtime. Lazytown live sounds great though.

Thank you for sharing your due date Chacha, I seem to remember that you wanted to keep it to yourself last time (although my memory isn't what it was).

Righto, bin bag it is for tonight! I think I'm going to wear my Kate Moss for Topshop dress that I'm in love with, although I did quite tragically wear it when my friend came to visit last week, and she's the one who's organising tonight .

mypandasgotcrabs · 12/07/2008 17:11

Have added a photo of my hair on my profile page. Will be awaiting reaction at work, and hoping that I'll be able to get some more put in in a few weeks.

BTKsmum · 13/07/2008 00:07

Evening girls

Chacha sorry hun, didn't see you log onto scrabble as was flipping between that and facebook. Only saw you log off! Hope you're doing ok.

Panda, what have you done!!! It looks great but I think I preferred it without the colour. I can see what you mean about wondering what work will think on the first day you move to the office you nutter!!!

Nova hope you knocked them dead tonight and that they were all suitably envious.

Brownie hope the weather is holding out for you and that you haven't reached the point where fire roasted brownie looks appealing

Rodeo sorry meant to wish B a happy birthday on the 5th I forget we share a b'day, glad you had a good time celebrating.

T enjoyed Lazytown and Nova loved your image of dh, made me lol.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Think we're going to the kent county show tomorrow, weather permitting. Beks

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/07/2008 01:18

OMG. Just got home from night out with work. There were loads of bouquets of flowers in a few big troughs, we had a giggle about, 'ooh, lets take them home', and stuff, then realised that a lad had drowned near that spot sometime last year and thought maybe it was exactly a year ago, hence the flowers & stopped laughing. Got home, went on facebook, loads of my friends have joined an 'rip ......' group, I'd seen the local paper things outside all the newsagents about a grieving girl who fell to her death on her birthday, and thought shit, that much be her, found the article and thn read "Yesterday the spot where she fell was covered in floral tributes and cards." I an't believe it, I feel sick, can't believe a few hours ago we were fucking laughing at those bloody flowers. I couldn't stand her, am in shock, not sure how to feel.

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/07/2008 01:41

I'm going to bed. Feel...well...dunno. I feel wrong for feeling sad for someone I didn't like. ANd that feels wrong for feeling wrong. I dunno

OP posts:
mypandasgotbluehair · 13/07/2008 12:05

Will be picking the boys up in a few hours. Big hugs for them me thinks, just hold them close. Was up early this morning, couldn't get back to sleep. Am feeling better now tho, was strangely crying this morning, think it's seeing a lot of my friends messages on fb. Feel so sad for them and for her parents. But have realised that you can't help not liking someone. That's not wrong, some people just don't get on, it's as simple as that, and unfortunately tragic things happen to people we like and we don't like, and just having known someone, and having friends that were close to that person means it's gonna hit you hard I guess.

Anyway, my boss was cool with my hair, so next time will be getting more flashes & some quite visible ones. And I'm so glad they've got rid of that really irritating pampers ad>>>>>>>>>>>

Love you all xxx

mypandasgotbluehair · 13/07/2008 21:12

OK, so pampers ad still there. Blast!

ChaCha · 13/07/2008 23:49

Can't sleep, but can't make out these last posts. How can you guys be posting past midnight and at 1am when it's only 11.45pm on the 13th of July....am i seriously deluded here and lacking sleep?! It must be a PG brain thing. Must start again.

BTKS - Scrabble keeps me sane when i can't sleep or move, trying hard for the 700 mark lol. Panda - Did i see you as fair haired before? I liked a pic of you with the boys with lighter hair not to say that your new look doesn't suit mind.
Nova - Yes, i was a bit secretive last year, something to do with having a section and wanting to feel normal or like any other woman having a natural birth and not knowing her date. Grew out of that one he he! Yup, 3rd is hard when two already so young but gotta be worth it - i won't be doing this again....whether medically possible or not...feel like a very old woman.

Hope you had fab night out Nova and hi to everyone else. Going back to fathom posts before its midnight and all changes x

ChaCha · 13/07/2008 23:51

God i'm so thick at times!!!!
Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

ChaCha · 14/07/2008 00:01

Okay...so am with it now i think.

Panda, i'm sorry to hear about this death...are you also Scottish Mummy or is that a friend? [here i go again - duh] I just wanted to say that many years ago a friend of mine (we were teenagers) fell to her death after school while hanging out on a rooftop. We hadn't been very close for a while and we'd had an argument in school just days before [over some silly lad too as usual] I didn't know how to feel then either but i grieved and thought of her often. Just because you didn't particularly like this girl (may God rest her soul) doesn't mean to say as you've already said that you don't feel sadness particularly for those loved ones left behind.
Am up a while if you're around and want to chat. Take care and if i don't see you post will hope you are all ok. Bye for now x

novadandypowder · 14/07/2008 08:51

That pampers ad wasn't there when you posted Panda, maybe they've only paid for it to be used on weekdays .

What fab hair Panda, is it your own hair coloured or coloured extensions? I used to have red extensions through the front of my hair, I loved the way they looked but as they were artificial hair they were a complete pain to look after and style. Would love to have something similar to yours, but as my hair is dyed black I think it would fall out if I tried to bleach and re-colour it . Love the name change too, made me giggle.

Chacha, hope you're getting some sleep now. Having another will be totally worth it, you'll have such a lovely family. I like the theory of more, but not the practice! I would still like to consider adoption but DH is dead against it.

The reunion was fab, and brought a tear to my eye. There were a few people who said they were coming and didn't show, which was a shame, but it was so lovely to see those who did. The boys have all aged really badly, but the girls were mainly looking great. There were two guys I was really hoping would turn up, and they did, so we spent most of the evening chatting. I would really have loved the night to have gone on longer, but I have now been told to get myself on facebook so I can keep in touch with everyone. I thought the school and theatre were going to seem really small upon going back as an adult, but it was all exactly the same as I remembered it, and I mean exactly. The only real difference was the fact that the new music teacher looked really young (and he was incredibly fit!). So all in all a really positive experience, and a good chance to celebrate something that had a huge impact on my life.

Rodeo · 14/07/2008 21:31

Evening
Just a quick one, have 101 things to do...
Nova, reunion sounds great LOL at all the boys ageing badly!
Hey Panda, whoa sexy at the hair! Wondered if it was blue or just my eyes, but then noticed the name change! I've not seen this pampers ad either, why is it so annoying? Hope you're feeling ok about the events over the weekend. Not sure who Scottishmummy is Chacha, strange post
Chacha, don't want to say 'not long now' or 'enjoy it while you can' - Haha - too late! 4th August - I'll put it on my calendar. Gosh, really isn't 'that long now'! Hope these last few weeks go ok, had to sympathise the feeling like a granny, I did too having no.3.
Beks, how was the county show? The weather was nice here yesterday, I presume your's was too
Brownie, hope you and your girls enjoyed camp! Were they all well behaved?!
I've only gone and got myself a job! Working when I can for my mum's partner's business, his admin has spiralled out of control so I've been appointed to share the load. Went in today for 4 hours, don't know where the time went I was so busy! Bit worried about spreading myself to thin with this, the children, the house, the horses, the PTA & running. Ooh and dp
Right better go, that dishwasher won't fill itself. Oh I wish it did..... x x x

mypandasgotbluehair · 15/07/2008 20:18

Just cooking my dinner and having a beer. The pic of a pregnant lady with the red cross through it always makes me giggle, I think it shuld be on a Yorkie. (honestly I've had 2 sips!)

Yes, hair is dyed - 4hrs to do, after the 1st lot wouldn't take, so they had to do it with a different brand, then the bleach was still showing through a little, so had to be done again! - A few years ago I had blue & purple, but it totally wrecked my hair, but the dyes seem to be a lot better now, so hopefully will be able to have this for a few months before I have to let my hair recover!

I've treated myself to a tefal actifry, it's wkd. less than 1/2 a tblspoon of oil for enough chips for me and hte boys & they are lush! £150 for what is essentially a chip pan, but it's great!

hmmm, I'm in talk rubbish mode, think it's times like this when I miss having someone to talk rubbish at.

novadandypowder · 15/07/2008 22:35

Oooo Panda my friend was recommending that fryer to me. Sounds good, but can't say I'm actually a big fan of fried stuff, although I'm sure noo would be quite happy with chips every day. DH makes me laugh, if we're at the beach house he's quite happy for noo to have chips at the local cafe, but he thinks I'm evil for taking noo to McD's after swimming class. I keep telling him that the quality of the food there is a million miles better than the pap they serve at the leisure centre, and I've only got a short time to get lunch before we need to pick up miniman. She has fish fingers or chicken nuggets, half a portion of child sized fries (mummy steals the rest!) and a bottle of milk. She eats an amazing variety of stuff at all other times, so I'm not worried, but DH thinks it' shameful.

Hope you'll find time to fit MN into your busy schedule Rodeo

Chacha, hope you're hanging on in there, it's getting quite exciting. Brownie - you're going to have to work harder now to fill the baby void we'll have.

One of the regular girls at dance class last night had a really bad crash landing. She was trying the shoulder mount and got up, but wasn't holding on with her legs properly so she slid down really fast landing on the back of her neck and smashing her shoulder into the bottom of the pole. It looked so nasty that it put the rest of the class of trying anything adventurous for the rest of the class. She was ok although she ended up with a bad swollen cut shoulder (which she wanted to photo on her phone!). I've now ordered a specialist dance mat for the bottom of my pole.

novadandypowder · 16/07/2008 12:13

Sorry, I know it's not really any of my business, but I pop onto Diege's ttc thread every now and again to see how she's doing (I'm still confused about the whole fall out thing ). She found out today she had a missed m/c at 7wks . I wish Diege well, and hope she doesn't mind me letting you know.

BTKsmum · 17/07/2008 18:00

Hi girls

Ouch Nova that sounds really painful for your friend, if that was me the weight of my backside would have put my head through the floor :D

Brownie where are you, let us know that you survived camp!!!

I'm so sorry to hear Dieges news .

Rodeo didn't make it to the summer fair, but went to our local park instead with friends.

Have had a successful afternoon as went into entertain Bens class for a little while, they liked my magic and I managed to make them nice and noisy as usual.

Am being the village idiot tomorrow, making balloon models and doing a bit of magic at the local park fun afternoon.

Am also having my hair cut and tinted, nothing as exciting as Pandas though

Right the rugrats have finished there tea so i'd best go and stop them recking hte house or killing each other Am officially signing in for my leave of absence now in case I don't get back on over the weekend, see you all soon, take care for now Beks
