Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
novadandypowder · 03/09/2008 19:28

BB, that is fantastic news, I can't believe you kept it to yourself over the weekend! Yay, another Nov 05 baby is on the way .

Btks, sorry didn't want to appear to ignore you on FB, but I was quickly trying to put up some pics before cooking dinner. Have some Pole pics up now.

Have been trying to have some kind of holiday with DH. Went to the beach house last week, and we've been on a few days out this week, although DH is doing bits of work. Legoland today, which was fab. Went to Drusillas last week which also has a Thomas the Tank.

BTKsmum · 03/09/2008 20:32

Lol don't worry Nova, I thought you must be in the middle of something and was only on for 5 mins myself.

I've just logged on and seen the pole pictures, they are amazing you must have a very happy dh Sounds like you've had a nice few days out.

Hope everyone is ready for the return to school, for a chamge I've done everything I need to do so am not running around like a blue arsed fly for a change!!!

Chacha will post that parcel tomorrow!

Love to all Beks

BrownieBells · 03/09/2008 22:24

Hey all - Nova, I know, am surprised I managed to last out till I did!! (dh still doesn't know you guys know!) Think I only managed to keep quiet till I did cos I wasn't in much over the weekend, so wasn't at computer!

Thanks for all congrats - tho it is still such early days yet - am trying not to jinx myself!?

No real symptoms - apart from raging thirst, feeling fairly tired and oh yes, none of my work clothes fit anymore - surely that can't be right!? am only about 5-6 weeks fgs!!!!! Think edd is early May if all goes to plan.

Think T must be psychic - he has been asking for a brother or sister for weeks now, and today he announced that He would have a baby at his house soon, and he would hold it and rock it in his arms, cos he is a big boy and the baby would crawl, but he would walk cos he is grown up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How bizarre!
Still can't believe it - so will stop talking about it now, incase I tempt fate and all that!

Hope all others are well - any other news?

Hope all are well.

ChaCha · 03/09/2008 23:43

Hi girls, last post of the day before bed. H has only just settled, hopefully that's him until 2 or 3am.

Wanted to say:

BTKS - Don't know what to say about parcel, you shouldn't - you and your big heart!!! I am touched. Will call you before the week is out if that's okay. Your status updates on FB make me LOL btw - love 'em.

Nova - Your pics leave me speechless!! Teddy bear and upside down teddy bear are truly amazing - am most impressed!

BB - [cha cha is still jumping up and down in delight for you] Hurray!

Ami - Just read your note. Are you a fly on my wall or something? (not meaning the actual fun wall thingy...) Yup when they all nap at the same time i kind of go into freeze mode not knowing what to do first, must look a proper nutter stood at top of stairs with 'that' expression ... 'shall i nap myself, read, surf, load dishwasher, call a friend...' i think i turn the options round my head so much that i get frustrated. LOL

My new books arrived today so am going to start Shoot the Damn Dog i think, something to keep me awake in the wee hours.

Love to you all x

mypandasgotcrabs · 03/09/2008 23:44

It's surprising Brownie, with ds1 I started showing at 34 weeks!!!! with ds2 I had a definate bump by 9 weeks!

Your pics are great nova, would love to be able to do that. I just wish babysitters weren't so expensive as I really want to start up gymnastics again & hte regional centre is only over the road from me, so would be perfect. I'd like to do street dance too (but think that may have a lot to do with my Cheryl Cole obsession )

OP posts:
mypandasgotcrabs · 04/09/2008 15:55

Oh no! Owen's just asked me 'that' question. I don't know what to say!!!! I got all flustered and !

OP posts:
BTKsmum · 04/09/2008 16:22

DO we mean the babies question or why are people a different colour question

mypandasgotcrabs · 04/09/2008 16:37

Congratulations not congra-latinos

BTKsmum · 05/09/2008 12:33

Lol Rodeo I liked the lations better

BB nice talking to you on fb yesterday

Panda a quick question for you, have you got any suggestions on a nice areas to move to in the south / south west as we're possibly looking to move away from London.

Dh works in Clapham Junction so trains need to go through there, which is why we're thinking of heading south west. Brighton is the obviuos choice at the moment but would appreciate any suggestions

Am having a good week, Bens gone back to school and likes his new teacher, Tom starts nursery next week and seems at the moment to like the idea, next week may be a different story.

Plus I've decided to go cold turkey on my happy pills and feel so much better for it. Was worried that I would get loads of awful side affects but touch wood haven't had any yet and have been off them 5 days and am feeling happy, more energetic if a little manic at times, so if I start acting even odder than normal please say somehting won't you

Hope everyone is well, our number seem to have dwindled, L&S, Feety where are you? and if everyoone else is lurking come back and join us, we miss you.

BTKsmum · 05/09/2008 12:34

doh latinos better!!!

mypandasgotcrabs · 05/09/2008 17:42

Portsmouth of course!!! and trains go through Clapham Jct!

Will have a proper think & get bac to you later once the boys are at their dads! Wahoo! weekend off!

OP posts:
mypandasgotcrabs · 05/09/2008 23:29

Right then Beks, I'm guessing you're going to want to stay in a city? So looking at where trains go to on the South coast from Clapham, you're options are...Brighton, Pompey, Scumhampton (sorry Nova, but can't bring myself to type it properly ), or Salisbury. OK, I know Salisbury isn't on the coast, but is SW. Times are all pretty similar, Brighton being a few minutes quicker than Portsmouth. TBH, most places along the A27 between Portsmouth & Brighton I wouldn't say no to. I obviously don't know anything about the important things like schools, but certainly transport links are excellent, A27 is just as quick as any motorway, with only Arundel slowing you down. The train links are excellent along that way too, to get to Portsmouth or Brighton to get on to Clapham. There are Tesco Extras everywhere along there, plenty of restaurants and shops etc.

If you want to be in a city, I really wouldn't reccommend that place down the road from me(!) That's not just a rivalry thang, but it really is a dive! There are nice places outside, but the city centre areas are not pleasant at all.

Having had a quick look at the right move site I am utterly at the house prices in Southsea. Basically similar houses to yours in your area are the same prices as 4 bed semi's with a garage here! See, you should come to Portsmouth , seriously though, if you want any opinions on areas you're considering, just give me a call.

OP posts:
BTKsmum · 06/09/2008 10:35

Excellent, thanks Panda, we've decided we want to move somewhere smaller, sort of a market town size and close to the coast, have got my eye on chichester at the moment, will now spend some time going backwards and forwards looking at areas, don't suppose I'll convince dh to put it into action until at least sometime next year, but it will be good to start looking now. So be warned we'll be popping in on you a lot

Now don't fall over laughing any of you, I bought dh and I bikes during he week, they were an absolute bargain from the charity shop so we'll be going out on the them with the boys later. Think I'll need stabilisers, haven't been on a bike since I was a kid

Have a great weekend all Beks

mypandasgotcrabs · 06/09/2008 11:41

I was going to suggest Chichester actually Beks. I like it there & you'll probably get similar for your money there I think. Shos are good there (supermarkets & 'town') lots of little boutiques. Close to the river, lots of open spaces. Plenty of restaurants & child friendly places there too. Bognor, the Witterings etc only a few minutes drive away. 15 minutes from Portsmouth, just over 1/2 from Brighton. Could do a lot worse. I'll look forward to the random visits .

I bought myslef a bike recently. Yep, definately agree with needing stabilisers!

mypandasgotcrabs · 06/09/2008 11:42

That should say 1/2 hour. I'm too excited about my night out tonight lol.

BTKsmum · 08/09/2008 21:39

Hi girls

Hope you had a good night out over the weekend Panda, fill us in!

Eek girls my baby starts nursery tomorrow, not sure if either of us are ready for it Will be interesting to see how long it takes T to say "Go home now" his favourite saying at any time he doesn't want to do something. Took less than 2 mins after we left the car to go shopping today

Hope all is well with everyone, its quiet on here these days Beks

feetheart · 09/09/2008 11:45

Lurking but still here.

CONGRATULATIONS BROWNIE (sorry, was I supposed to whisper )

Been VERY busy sorting out my friend's house to let and then my flat. Finally got them done and dusted and tenants moved in (in the same week - eek!) then the bstrd cat filled our house with fleas Have spent the past 10 days moving stuff/hoovering/spraying/scratching/flea-bombing/swearing/etc but we MAY have got on top of them (fingers-crossed emoticon really needed!) Haven't seen one today and its nearly lunchtime!
Poor children have either been dragged to Bedford to decorate/clean or shunted off to play whilst I hoover up fleas. Not much of a way to spend the summer holidays
Did go to Natural History Museum before going back to school and had a brilliant time - DH billed it as a dinosaur hunt so the whole trip was a great adventure A's first proper trip to London (one that he will remember anyway) and T's first for a few years. Was so good that I think we will be doing it again quite soon.

Love the idea of a move to be near the seaside BTKS.
Good luck T (and BTKS) hope nursery goes well. A starts pre-school soon too. Supposed to be starting next week but we are supposed to be going camping. Really not sure what to do as 10 days in the rain is NOT going to be fun. Hoping for a good long range forecast from my sister who works for the Met Office (more fingers-crossed!)

Hope everyone is well? Will try not to be a stranger but don't hold your breath as all the stuff I was supposed to be doing whilst I was dealing with fleas still needs to be done

feetheart · 09/09/2008 11:48

That should read ba$ta*d cat

novadandypowder · 09/09/2008 20:01

don't mean to be a stranger, it just feels like time is flying away and I have so much to do .

Had a very funny, if tiring, weekend. Went out clubbing on friday night as DH was DJing. We got a hotel room for everyone to meet up in for drinks before hand as there were 14 of us going. A friend of mine from dance class brought her dp and it turns out that they couldn't find each other at the end of the night (we'd all left the club by then). My friend went to a friends house who lived near to the club, but had all of her dps, keys and phone. Her dp had to ask a cab driver to take him home across London on the promise that my friend would be at home and would pay him. Of course, she wasn't there, so he asked the cabbie to take him to another friends house to see if he could pay for the cab and give him somewhere to sleep. The friend wasn't in either so my friends dp had to beg the cabbie to take him back home, offering to take his number and pay him when he could. He ended up sleeping on his doorstep, and was only found/let in at 1pm the following day! He said it was the worst 7 hours of his life. We've been rofl all weekend.

However, as a result of this I need some sleep! It wasn't helped by someone breaking into our car last night. They were scared off by the alarm (although there was nothing to steal in it anyway), but we then had to call the police, try to get it fixed, and tidy everything up. Turns out no-one could fix it during the night so we had to take it in for repair this morning. Not the way I wanted to spend the early hours of this morning .

Off to New York on thursday afternoon for a long weekend of girlie shopping . Can't wait, although slightly disturbed that DH has made me sign the new wills off before I go .

Glad T's first day was ok Btks. I keep seeing all the new intake of the school noo will be off to next year - they look sooooo sweet.

Panda, hope you had a fun filled weekend too.

Feetheart, glad the house projects seem to be going smoothly. Sorry, but I had to giggle at the b@st@rd cat.

Chacha, hope life is allowing you some rest. I held a friends 9wk old baby today, he was so gorgeous, and I got a tiny insight into how life must be for you - lovely, but chaotic!

Hi to everyone else x

mypandasgotcrabs · 12/09/2008 13:43

I'm so boooooooooooooooooooooooored! Meant to be out tonight, really can't be bothered though . Right...I'[m going to go and empty my compost bin so that I can move it to the other side of the garden! Woo!

OP posts:
BTKsmum · 13/09/2008 10:42

Lol Panda after our conversation on FB the other night, moving the compost bin brings us right back down to earth doesn't it

Nova hope you're having or ha a great time in NY, you lucky thing, hope the cocktails slid down with ease

Glad to say that T survived his first 2 afternoons at nursery, probably better than mummy did in the end Think it might be a slow process getting him to actually like it and to go in without tears but we'll see.

AMI did O enjoy his first day too?

Am off to my god daughters 1st B'day party this afternoon, my friend is going to love me as I've bought her noisy ride on

Then tomorrow I', having a day off from dh and the boys as they are going to a war gaming convention at Newbury Racecourse. Looking forward to a day on my own - selfish aren't I

Hope everyone is well and having a good weekend Beks

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/09/2008 10:56

I'm pregnant. I don't get it. I spent a year trying for ds1 & then 2.5 years trying for ds2. I'm always careful. There were some dodgy condoms one night, but thought we'd caught them all, although I did get the MAP just in case we'd missed one. I take all the precautions in the world, and here I am...single mum, no boyfriend, knocked up...just to fulfil the stereotype eh! It's gonna kill me having an abortion but I can't do anything else.

OP posts:
BTKsmum · 13/09/2008 21:19

Blimey Panda thats brutally honest hunney, you know how I feel about this we talked earlier.

Of course it will be heartbreaking to have an abortion but having another child in your situation would be worse. It would be unfair on you, the dad, the baby and the boys. You have overcome some really difficult times in the last 18mths and come out of it stronger and more in control. Your boys are a credit to you, the way you handled your abusive relationship showed how strong you are and your plans for your future and the future of your boys are all in place.

Don't you dare call yourself a stereotype, you didn't have O&S to be a single mum, you had them when you thought you were in a secure loving relationship. The fact that you managed to get your boys away from an abusive environment means you are a stong and caring woman who puts the needs of her children before all else. It would have been easier to stay than to walk away and this baby is an accident pure and simple. You have done everything in your power to prevent it and it is something that could happen to any of us, no matter what our situation.

Just let me know when you need me and I'll be down to support you as promised. Beks
