Rodeo · 07/08/2008 21:43

Evening
AmI - Nice to see you post again. Sorry to hear of the problems you've been going through, made worse by the treatment been getting from your hospital. I know the SN on MN is a great source of advice and support though, and agree with Nova on 'trust your instincts' (and try to ignore the MIL) Keep us updated and feel free to vent on here And send our best wishes to your mum too.
Beks - seems like you've been away for AGES!! You must have been gone at least a month Glad you've had such a fab time, but bet you're glad to get out of the sun for a bit Yeah right....
Nova, love the new pics of pole-dancing Noo & sheep botherer Miniman! And at how much Miniman looks like you! You shouldn't be envious of the hair either - every morning she shouts 'Gently!!' through her tears, no matter how gentle or slow I do it, such a battle No amount of de-tangler seems to help the Russell Brand-style birds nest I'm faced with every morning!!
Night x

novadandypowder · 10/08/2008 11:00

Very to say that we don't even brush noos hair on a daily basis, once a week maybe . And I just shave minimans off - much easier! Not sure when I'll start to take noo to the hairdressers, think it'll be a while away yet, although a new one has opened up near us especially for kids.

Have been weaning miniman off his nightly bottles this weekend, it's been harder than I thought and it breaks my heart to hear him crying, but it'll be much better in the long run. Think it was at about this age we threw away noos dummies and made her go cold turkey too.

Went to a friends 30th birthday party yesterday day time (family thing with kids). It was the first time the 3 godmothers to her dd had been together since her dd was born, although we've all known each other for years. What would you do if a friend you'd known since school asked you to be a godparent, but the day she'd chosen for the christening happened to be the day your DH was doing a 10K run? I think go to the christening, but my the girl in question is choosing to miss it and go and watch her DH instead. My friend even tried to move the christening to make sure the other one could come.

mypandasgotbluehair · 11/08/2008 20:00

Hi, have been on holiday last week. Absolute nightmare, hated it, so glad to be home, moral of the story...don't go on holiday with your parents!!! I remember now why I moved out of home at 17! The boys and I did have some good days out together, but being with my parents reverted me to a stroppy teenager!

Ami, sorry to hear of the problems O's having. Did you manage to see the SALT at the drop in? If your health authroity is like mine, they always do hearing tests when referred for salt.

ChaCha, some lovely pics on fb. Congratulations again xx

mypandasgotcrabs · 11/08/2008 21:57

Have just seen my old house on the right move site. www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-18721747.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy The outside looks awful, the white is so wrong, inside doesn't look too great I don't think, but then I saw my kitchen . Wasn't bothered until then. Ok they've painted the walls magnolia, looked a lot better with the blue, but still I loved that kitchen. It bugs me though, that the guy took the mick so much, has spent probably less than £5K, and will make about £15K on it, while I lost £37K on it. It's mad, really didn't bother me that much til I saw my kitchen.

"Having just undergone extensive refurbishment " Balls!!! All they've done is replace the bathroom, paint the walls magnolia, and replace the carpet. Thats not what I'd call extensive! They were there for less than 3 wks, and my old neighbour said they strung that out as much as they could, only doing 1/2 days mostly. Rarrrr!

Just a quick drop in from me
Chacha - congratulations on the birth of your new addition, will look forward to seeing photos soon (haven't found you on FB yet - will perhaps try through BTKs or Panda?)
Ami - sorry to hear of your recent bad news - both with the loss of grandparents (believe me I know how that feels) and also with the situation with O - fingers crossed all wil sort itself out, and def echo the trust your insticts thing....hugs to you all.

Things not all good here - my Nanna is now in hospital, has been for nearly 2 weeks now - hopefully moving her to Stratford rehabilitation unit tomorrow. The drugs she had for her cnacer have really taken it out of her, and she is just getting so frail but hopefully with the right care she'll go on for a long time yet.....

Right, off to find chacha on fb now.

Lots of love to all
B

BTKsmum · 12/08/2008 15:42

Hi girls

AMI sorry to hear you are having such a rought time of it at the moment, hugs to you with regards to the loss of your grandparents and also for what you are going with O. Your comment on FB last night about the reigns left me open mouthed, what a stupid thing for that person to say, some people are so ridiculous.

Chacha H is absolutely beautiful and the pics on FB are just beautiful, hope you got my message saying that already :D

Brownie sorry to hear your gran is so poorly too, hugs to you too.

Rodeo meant to send my condolences to your dp and you while I was away, you too are having a rough time of it aren't you.

Panda oops sounds like the hols were abit of a disaster, glad you managed some nice days out though, let me know if you are free to meet up before the end of the hols. Can understand why you were so irritated with the buyer of your house, cheeky bugger.

Things here are good, am missing the sunshine and the ability to get in the pool everyday The boys are going stir crazy as their cousin went home at the weekend after being with us for 3 weeks.

B has picked up moloscum contagiosis {sp} which is a kids viral infection that looks like warts and can take up to 2 years to go, so have had to tell all my friends about it in case there kids come out with it too, it is totally harmless just a bit unsightly, thankfully they have come up on his chest, where they can't be seen. Have no idea where he picked it up and you can't do anything to get rid of it - nice - not!

T is into his potty training in a big way, so hopefully it won't take too long to get him sorted, needless to say he is very proud of himself whenever we leave a deposit of any kind in the potty :D typical boy!

Right have just got my holiday photos back, so anm off to have a quick flick through, love to everyone Beks

novadandypowder · 12/08/2008 22:49

Chacha, I must also say your boys are stunningly gorgeous - must be the good genes hey ?

Btks, noo and miniman have moloscum (sp?), I guessed noo just picked it up from nursery and miniman got it from her. Noos has all but gone now, but she had hers on her chest and they got very sore and nasty. Miniman has them pretty back on his chin and neck, with a few appearing on his arms, back and chest. They don't seem to bother him too much, but I feel sorry for him when he scratches his eczema and knocks the top off them. Our GP said they were the 'nits of the noughties' and were going around schools and nurseries like wild fire.

Panda, I also revert to being a teen around my family, which is why I never see them!

novadandypowder · 12/08/2008 22:50

sorry that should say 'pretty bad' not 'pretty back' - I'm tired!

feetheart · 12/08/2008 23:04

Sloping back in after a week with my parents - I share your pain Panda, my bl**dy step father is hard work at times and makes me feel very rebellious Children had a lovely time though and it was nice to sit up late and chat with my mum.

Ami - sorry to hear you are having such a hard time all round. Whatever happens O is still your gorgeous little boy and always will be.

BTKS - lovely to hear you sounding so chipper. Fancy a zoo trip before the summer's over - leemurs in the rain??? That offer is open to anyone else as well, Nova think you mentioned the zoo ages ago. There is oodles of (reasonably safe) room for scootering children
Well done T on the potty training. I think after a week in a different location and flights there and back without an accident means that A is now officially a big boy, even if he did it on his own terms and not mine. Very proud of him

Brownie - sorry to hear your Nanna has been so poorly, its really hard when they look so frail isn't it?

Rodeo - LOl at Russell Brand-style hair though I still get the wailing and complaining from a certain 5yr old. Have you tried the Avon detangler? Seems to work but I think it smells of wee

Nova - I'd definitely go to the christening, only get to do that once, can support DH without being there.
Don't brush A's hair at all either though various people seem to think I spend ages preening it into its slightly mad mohican style! Lucky boy just gets out of bed that way Will try and get something onto Yahoo.
Also need to work out how FB works it seems. I am on there but have very little idea of how to use it properly

Just noticed the time . Was in late and children to bed late so it only feels like 9.30pm.
Need some sleep
Night night

feetheart · 12/08/2008 23:06

Arghhhh, how could I miss ChaCha off?
Lovely to hear from you, wishing you sleep and happiness in those mad early days.

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/08/2008 15:41

Ooh, give me a shout if there's a zoo trip going on! The boys and I would love to if I'm not working.

They're not here for a few days. Their dad was supposed to be taking them to Wales today until Sat, but he's not for some reason, but has still got them though. So I have a date tonight. It's a guy I've been chatting to online & texting for a couple of weeks, we seem to get on really well, but I'm not sure now I want to go. You see, last night I told G1 how I feel about him. Have realised that I really do like him a lot, and eventually told him last night. To start with he asked me if I was drunk! Then just went dead quiet. He text me later saying he was shocked and didn't realise I felt that way. Then it all turned cryptic, and I don't know how he feels. Why do I make it all so complicated?!

OP posts:
BTKsmum · 13/08/2008 17:17

Lol Panda what are you like, go out tonight have a good time and leave G1 to sort it out in his head, didn't he say he wanted you two to be a proper item first - therefore what did he expect, one of you had to say the dreaded L word at some time or another - men what are they like!

Feety Whipsnade sounds fab can't do next week as B is at athletics every morning but can do the following week, Panda do you and the boys want to stay here for a couple of nights? Nova you're up for it as well aren't you? Anyone else????

Have had both the boys hair cut today, B looks so grown up and T wouldn#t sit still so we have the odd long straggly bit

Nova thanks for the reassurance about the moloscum, feel much better now, T hasn't got it yet but I'm sure he probably will at some time, can't believe it can last so long.

Right best go and sort out the dinner before dh gets in, spk soon, let me know if plans for the zoo develop further. Beks

BTKsmum · 13/08/2008 17:19

Meant to say well done A, what a clever boy x

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/08/2008 17:37

lol Beks, yep, I'm terrible I know, and yes, it was him that made the 1st move, but I think he's been thinking that all I was after was some fun & a bit of a fling, so it's come as a bit of a shock to him for me to say I really like him a lot. ALthough we were locked at the lips on Sat night when we were all out for a couple of mates birthdays, so all out in the open now, bit of a shock for everyone else!

It depends on work whether I'd be able to stay up with you or not, but I'll see when we make the zoo trip for, and see what it's like at work, and yes, if I can arange it, would be great to stay.

OP posts:
feetheart · 14/08/2008 17:15

BTKS - following week much better for us too as next week is mad!
Can do Weds, Thurs or Fri so pretty flexible. However this is NOT a meet-up, I don't want any more fallouts

Rodeo - seen Js picture, she seems so grown-up, she was a tiny thing in your arms at the British Museum meet-up We found that a decent conditioner made a big difference to tangles but it took a while to find one that worked well on T's hair - the Herbal Essences yellow one is fab on her blond hair and its usually BOGOF somewhere. Ignore me if I'm trying to teach you suck eggs!

mypandasgotcrabs · 14/08/2008 19:55

I'll have to check the calendar, to see which weekend is which WRT where the boys are, but I think that would be my weekend, so the Fri would be good for me, then could stay at yours htat night Beks? But will have to check that when I'm feeling more human. Am only just getting out of bed, have been ill all day. Date went well, we got on great, 1st impressions were, Oh no, he's a proper 'Pompey geezer', can I just go home now? But was good, just feel awful now, not sure why though. Also heard from G1 last night, everything's fine and normal, been chatting lots today, jut wish he'd say what he wants (tbh I don't think he really knows himself!)

OP posts:
BTKsmum · 14/08/2008 22:29

Excellent can do the wednesday or thursday that week as going to Leeds on the Friday - sorry Panda didn't check my diary beforehand - doh! Possibly Paul cold take the day off and come with us and then we could go on to Leeds after but that doesn't help you though does it.

This is definitely not a meet up, i hope to make conversation with some nice friendly looking women who all happen to have kids the same age as mine and spend a splendid day in my new friends company!!!

Definitely can't miss going to leeds as these were the friends that I double booked on the last disasterous meet up, so was in there bad books for missing their daughters b'day - doh!

Are any of the other boys into Power Rangers yet? T is obsessed and we've made the mistake of showing him its on the tv - I have my own little kung fu master now

Am also planning to (reduces voice to a whisper) meet up with TEx week after next if anyone fancies 10 pin bowling or coffee in the park?

Right off to improve my brain cells on facebook word games, love to all Beks

novadandypowder · 16/08/2008 22:04

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. DH went away to the Edinburgh festival yesterday so I'm home alone until next sunday. Making the most of watching what I want to watch on TV, vegging in jim jams, spending online, and early nights . I'm sure the kids will miss him though .

Miniman is driving me mad. Today I couldn't find my phone (yes, again!), but more worryingly I couldn't hear it when I rang it. I spent a good half hour standing in various places in the house trying to find it. Finally found it in the bottom of a drawer in the computer desk . Must remember to keep it out of his reach!

Hoping DH will like the 'home improvements' I've been doing tonight. We're about to start on a redecoration of the whole house, and I'm itching to get going, but we have to wait for the new double glazing to go in before we can do anything. Unable to contain myself I've been moving lots of the furniture around, I think it looks better but DH will probably think I've gone mad.

Had my hair cut yesterday and really don't like it. Oh well, it'll grow....

Rodeo · 16/08/2008 22:36

Snap on watching what I like/stuffing face/ early night Nova! Dp is away for boy's weekend. Currently watching Cheryl Cole street dancing in LA, after watching her debut on the X factor, thought she was lovely, though that last audition was so sad, did bring a tear to my eye (must stop getting so emotional at these audition shows )
Also watched Usain Bolt earlier, how amazing was that?! Am in love....
Had a few nice sunny days here, went to the reservoir yesterday for the day and have taken the horses on some nice rides. Had my hair done Weds too Nova, and it's a bit short, it'll grow!
Ooh Panda, this dating game's a bloomin minefield!
Ooh before I go just wanted to show off about my friend's boy who got 4 A's at a-level on Thurs (maths, further maths, physics and chemistry!)
Right, this early night won't sort itself x

BTKsmum · 18/08/2008 17:43

Hi girls

Hope everyone is surviving this rotten weather - where the hell has our summer gone?

Am sitting here having 5 minutes peace and quiet as have persuaded Ben & his friend Molly to have a toy sale outside the house over the bank holiday weekend.
Was going to give the stuff away to friends or the local charity shop but thought it might be enterprising for the kids to sell it instead. They are allowed to keep the profits or it can be spent on a day out instead.
hey are now busy sorting through all their toys and making posters to put up inthe windows and in the local shops. HopefullY I might get some space back at the end of it

Right best go and see what burnt offerings I'm serving up for dinner as I've been surfing on here.

Love to all Beks

novadandypowder · 18/08/2008 18:28

Toy sale sounds like a fab idea Btks, lets hope they don't get into 'swapsies' or you could end up with more than you started with!

Noos phrase 'du jour' is 'look at me', very funny. She has also developed an interest in 'tails', which is her concept of willies . She was busy looking for mine this morning, but I had to tell her that only daddy and miniman had them. She also takes great delight in saying 'that's just for mummies' when we go into a toilet and they have a sanitary disposal bin.

Rodeo · 18/08/2008 22:03

Evening
Beks, toy sale does sound good, they go down quite well here (the nice good mums do them ) although I am too lazy to do one!
Nova, awww - love Noo's funny phrases! Love how their little minds work Jess was singing with her gran the other day when it got too a shouty part of the song after gran shouted she announced 'Granny! I can't like that!' She is also obsessed with body parts and has a range of words for her bits She was upstairs being quiet (never a good sign) when she came down to tell me 'I coloured my foo, mummy' with a green felt tip. Good job it was a washable. Dp asked her the other day 'What are you on about? What is your foo?' and she just replies 'My front bottom!'!

novadandypowder · 19/08/2008 08:40

pmsl at 'coloured my foo'

BTKsmum · 19/08/2008 21:33

Rodeo rofl at "colured my foo" Nova loce the idea of tails

T is a bit of a smartie pants, I was singing him 10 green bottles the other night and we got to no.7 and he just said "we got to catch them then" {grin]

The kids have made their posters and placed them in the windows of the local shops and the park fair is happening that day too so hopefully we'll shift a bit Otherwise I have to do a boot fair - hmm can't see me getting up early for that somehow

Right I best go and tidy up, realised as I ate my dinner that I'd forgotten my brothers wedding anniversary so had to dash out and get something and drop it off - bad sister!!!

Love to all Beks
