Hi there, sorry to be a stranger but I haven't really felt like posting much. Can't explain why, just needed a bit of time out I suppose .
Everyone doing well, had a lovely weekend at the beach house, both of them playing in the sea. Went to Littlehampton and they both got their first taste of a rollercoaster. It was a very small one, but both of them cried the first time it sped up and went down the dip, then noo decided she liked it but miniman wasn't a fan and was still crying by the time it stopped.
We've just had our dreams of a sunny holiday dashed by a friend of mine. She was supposed to be coming with us as a pair of extra hands as DH doesn't want to go away and end up having to look after the two kids all the time, but we were about to book it today and she told us she can't make the dates now . DH won't book it if it's just the two of us, and we can't think of anyone else that can come - boo!
Noo has developed an almost spookily close friendship with a boy at her nursery, although we have actually known him and his mum since he and noo were born. We've spent the afternoon with them at the lido in hyde park, and it's lovely to see them play together. His mum also has a dd who is 1 so give it a bit of time and she and miniman with hopefully be off together and we can sit back and enjoy having a conversation that lasts longer than 5 seconds!
Hope everyone is well. My thoughts are with Chacha, especially in this heat, although I guess you must love it as your preferred holiday destinations are in the sun?
Enjoy the camping Rodeo, hope it stays warm and dry
Brownie, hurrah to surviving camp. We're hoping to join noo and miniman to either brownies or scouts when they're old enough.
Feetheart, family gathering sounds ace. I'm still totally confused about who is what relation in my family - getting a tree together sounds like a fab idea.
Panda, I'm glad you felt able to ask for help and I hope you're getting all that you need. I always stick a big (imaginary) two fingers up to anyone who judges the way I am with my kids, they don't know the full story of what's been happening. It's funny around this area though as it's full of the 'rice cake brigade'. We bumped into a friend of noos from nursery who was at the park with his dad, and I actually felt like I should apologise for giving noo some chocolate, because the dad looked at me like I was poisoning my child! As long as you do your best, and love them unconditionally, then you know you're doing a good job.
Beks, well done to B for learning to swim so quickly, you'll have trouble getting him out of the water now.
Big kiss x
