Happy Birthday Lollypop, hope you had a good day Now I feel old, I was 34 in March

Arbensmum - why are you going, can't you just keep in touch on this thread?

I've been out in York all day today, meeting up with some ladies from the October post natal thread that I also post on, had a great day but am knackered now

Hello to everyone else [wavey]

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 10/04/2008 21:29

amyclaramum, thanks for remembering, no not too late to sponsor him at all. The website is here

dal21 · 11/04/2008 10:40

Morning!

So Lolly - did you have a good birthday? Did you do anything?

OLivia - well done to your LO. Ryan doesnt put any finger foods in his mouth. Just waves it around and generally makes a mess. Then grabs my hair as I clean up around him once he is done. Even his hard toys dont go in his mouth - only soft things like his muslin and bib (and my hand )

Hello Amyclaramum - keep meaning to take Ryan swimming. DH has Monday off, so may take him then.

Hopey - best of luck to your DH on Sunday. I know heaps of people running, but doubt we'll make it out to support them with Ryan with us.

Hello to everyone else, Ryan has just woken so off to get him. Have fab days all!

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 11/04/2008 11:59

Morning (just!)

am MADLY busy today, got to get a sling, Brent Cross was a disaster yesterday!! My childhood memories of BC are that it's mahoosive, but it's tiny compared to Milton Keynes! Sorry Brent Cross shoppers . Also am planning to make a cake for DH to celebrate his marathon run.

Haven't been out to buy it yet, but seen this newspaper article online! The photo looks like DH is about to drop Niamh!!!!!!!!!!! Hope we don't get a phone call from social services

Lollypopzmummy · 11/04/2008 13:28

Thanks all, had a lovely day yesterday, the girl's were pretty good all day, DH bought me a lovely little cake (ooh naughty naughty! ) and I did next to nothing all day, and then Dh took me out for a gorgeous meal whilst his parent's came round and babysat for us (1st time with someone other than DH looking after Lolly, no probs )

Oliviaelanasmum Sounds like you had a lovely relaxing evening! but, seriously, star trek. . . I'm in agreement, I'm definitely a Star Wars girl and Dh is a Trekkie (should've asked him that fateful Q before we got married but didn't want to be disappointed and have to ditch him

amyclaramum I am enviously young aren't I?! lol Although the majority of my friends are younger than I am so it keeps me grounded lol

GOOD LUCK Hopey's DH for Sunday, hope all goes well and all the hard work is worth it
Wow! Look at Niamh sitting up like a little grown up! Bless her, so cute!

Well, you've all made me very jealous (but also quite thankful) that your LO's are growing up so fast!

Both girls are in bed and I should be doing something productive, like vacuuming, but thought I'd come on quick and check all my lovely birthday messages
See you all again later
xXx

Lollypopzmummy · 11/04/2008 13:33

Forgot to ask, Hopey I've got a sling free if you want to buy it from me? I've been using a sari and a couple of rings instead so it's kind of going to waste (and we've still got the carrier that we used with DD1 as a back up, but the srir is actually more comfy! )
So, if you want it you're welcome to it, will happily take £10 (+p+p) for it (just for you hun ).
It's a navy blue one of these
xXx

Lollypopzmummy · 11/04/2008 13:34

*sari :-P

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 12/04/2008 10:36

WOW, it's quiet here!!

Lolly, what age does that sling go up to? I think I will buy it from you if that's ok!! 'I'll fb you'

Well it's all go go here, getting ready to go to London.

Another cheeky request if anyone can sponsor my amazing DH here

Thank you amyclaramum for sponsoring him!

Look out for him on the telly!

Byee x

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 10:57

Ladies, those of you breastfeeding I could use your help here

amyclaramum · 12/04/2008 16:29

Hopey - you are welcome ! Love the newspaper article and its a fab photo ! Hope it all goes well tomorrow -good luck to your dh !

Hi Everyone - I am off to my Mum's for a few days tomorrow as its holidays - see you when I get back x

oliviaelanasmum · 12/04/2008 20:26

Evening all, today is a sad day...Maisy-Rae has moved from our bedroom into her own room and the big cot
As she is so short she has fitted in her crib for ages and as she still wakes up loads during the night it was easier to have her in our room but now she can sit up she has to go in a cot. She has gone to bed lovely though so she is obviously not bothered!

MrsBumblebee · 13/04/2008 08:36

GOOD LUCK TO YOUR DH HOPEY!! I shall keep an eye out for him from the comfort of my sofa .

Oliviaelenasmum, I know it's a bit sad when they move into their own rooms, but to be honest my sadness lasted all of a day - it's SOOO nice to have your own room back . You can read in bed with the light on, have a conversation before you go to sleep, even (whisper it) have sex if you so

Well, we're all doing fine here, though my poor sister has been through the mill a bit. I mentioned that her newborn wasn't feeding properly, I think? Well, it turned out that he had a little blockage in his bottom and had to go for an operation on Tuesday. He's feeding well now and seems to be doing brilliantly, though I think he'll have to have a little bit of aftercare, a bit like little Cerys, with the dilation and everything. Sadly, though, my sister is still in hospital, a week after the birth - her BP is still sky-high, and they won't let her go home. I thought pre-eclampsia went away as soon as you had the baby, but apparently not always. All the problems with baby Will can't have been helping her to feel calm either.

Paul's getting increasingly frustrated at not being able to crawl now, and I don't think it will be long. I saw one of his NCT friends yesterday, who's 7 months exactly, and not only can he crawl from one side of the room to the other, he can also walk the same distance using his baby walker . To be honest, I'm rather savouring the last few movement-free days .

Hi to everyone else!

Lollypopzmummy · 13/04/2008 15:23

Well, it's quiet in here, yet again! you must all be busy watching Hopey's DH! Hope all's going well (I've not been in long enough to flick the TV on so don't even know if it's all finished or not yet lol).
We've had a nice morning car booting, made £40 odd which is nice, got rid of a few bits but mostly DH's really, still got loads of baby clothes (2 bin bags full) so have offered a bit to a freecycler to try and ease that up a bit.
DD1 had a lovely time, as the PIL came too and had their stall next to our's so off she went with granny and granddad and had a lovely walk and a play in the park too. She went straight down for a nap when we got home so it must've tired her out a bit, all that fresh air (usually we have a fight all the way up the stairs and kicking and crying etc until she finally settles after a little cuddle, but none of that today! ).
We're thinking of dropping her off to PIL's for a couple of days this week, as MIL is off for another week and we haven't been round at all since half term started (she works in a school), so that'll be nice to have a quiet day or two!

Off for a bimble (might put some of the odd bits on the "for sale" page and see if anyone wants it, no luck so far but always worth a go just in case eh?!)
Laters!
xXx

oliviaelanasmum · 13/04/2008 20:51

Hi everyone
Well i slept much better last night with Maisy-Rae in her own room and we even managed a cuddle She seems to like her cot and certainly seems to wake up less, i think its because she doesn't hit the bars now.
Lollypopzmummy what have you got left to sell? I love doing car boots although i usually spend more than i make! I have just pout a few prams and pushchairs and nappies in my local advertisers so fingers crossed. Im reluctantly selling my bugaboo but it just wont get used when the new baby is here.
Hope everyone is well

Lollypopzmummy · 14/04/2008 12:17

Oliviaelanasmum: We've still got all the bulky thing, like the baby bath (that we barely used with DD1 and haven't used at all with Lolly!) and a carry cot type thing (it's actually the top half of a silver cross pram!) and 2 bin bags of baby clothes. . . Most of our stuff has been sat on the exchange and mart for quite a while now (I don't seem to ever have any luck getting rid of our junk, I've tried Ebay, it costs too much in fees, tried the "for sale" pages on here, no replies at all, and the exchange and mart, sold a couple of bits on there but it hasn't really helped to clear any space Can't quite figure out what I'm doing wrong, maybe our telephone number is unappealing?! lol)

Having a lovely day today, so far. . . well, sort of!
Went to the doctor about my wrist (have been in a bit of apin since last wednesday), my scalp (don't ask) and my knees. . . my wrist is probably a sprain or a pull so just have ot be careful with it, got a prescription for some shampoo for my scalp (it's only been 15 years but finally someone knows what they're doing!! ) and have to have an x-ray on my knees as I might have arthritis. . . bloody wonderful eh?! lol Just my luck!
But, on the up side, it's lovely and sunny after all the hail/thunder/lightening of last night so I can happily sit and look out of the window at the lovely sunshine and wish I could be outside. . . that's right my evil Dh has locked me in the house once again ((he's reading over my shoulder, so thought I'd give him something of interest to read ))
xXx

LisaLessLumpy · 14/04/2008 19:48

It has gone quiet on here, everyone must be busy, I know I have been

Lolly - I have loads of stuff to get rid of too, not having any luck selling so may just have to give it all away to make some room. I am waiting for two friends to have babies in the hope that they will have boys so that I can get rid of all Ben's stuff

Lollypopzmummy · 14/04/2008 20:41

Yeah, that's a good plan. . . my friend had a boy so I couldn't get rid of it that way.

Ho-hum, gave in and gave away 2 black sacks of baby clothes this evening (kept some nice bits back for SIL).

It is quiet in here innit?!! What are you lot all up to?
xXx

dal21 · 14/04/2008 21:06

Helllooooo!

What have I been up too?
Hmm, trying to think.

Sat - stocked up on Ryans food in the freezer. He has now also had steak, salmon, kiwi, prunes and paneer (homemade cheese) - not in the same dish i hasten to add. Then went for a lovely long walk.

Sun - went for brunch with friends

Today - DH had the day off, so we went to a garden center and spent most the afternoon ducking in and out of April showers potting our plants.

All in all just had some lovely family time and enjoyed it thoroughly. Plus done tons of those domestic jobs that forever get put off so am feeling very virtuous - albeit a little tired!

Hope everyone is ok. Catch up soon

Lollypopzmummy · 14/04/2008 22:24

Ooh Dal, if you're all done at your's feel free to pop round to mine and get my domestics done for me

xXx

So, everyone but Dal and Trinity have fallen off the edge of the planet then?!

Hopey how did your Dh do on Sunday?

Not a lot going on here, had my first ever driving lesson this morning, was great! Am amazed that I drove a car into town on market day!!

Lolly has learned a new trick, I went upstairs to get her up the other day (might've yesterday, my bwain is rather out of it from getting up early this morning) and she had spun herself round 180 degrees and was at the top of the cot, it was hilarious! She was just led there, all upside down ing at me like a silly fool like "Mummy, look what I can do!!" lol

Did a bit of bimbling round town this afternoon after my lesson, bought myself some earrings and a bag (and boring things like cereal and parasol covers), came home to a lovely quiet house and both the girl's are still in bed (they'll be up soon though) so off to make the most of it and get a cup of tea. Later

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 17/04/2008 21:28

This has got to be a first on our thread!?

Surely, a whole day without anyone posting!

I must apologise for my absence, been a tad busy this week as DH is off.

Marathon was FANTASTIC. DH did it in 4 hours and 20 minutes. We were watching at the 22 mile mark. We tried to move to the cross over 13 mile/21 mile area but there was no chance, it was absolute chaos.

I had NIamh on my back most of the time, have to say the back pack thingy is really very good, you can carry much more weight on your back than your front it seems.

I glad to say that we saw DH - just, he was on the far side of the road. Fortunately he heard me bellowing so got a much needed boost from his family.

Unfortunately I JUST missed Gordon Ramsay, couldn't beliiiiiieeeeeeeeeve it! I turned my back for a few seconds then my Dad said 'that chef bloke's just run past!', we didn't believe him until we heard lots of other people mentioning his name... damn!

Dh happy and relieved it's all over. He's looking to do his next marathon now. He's done Scotland and England, is now thinking either Ireland or Wales next.

STOP PRESS>>> Niamh has a tooth. Very exciting, but at the same time slightly bitter sweet because it's a sure sign she's growing up.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying their week. I'll try and post soon.

Hugs x xx

LisaLessLumpy · 18/04/2008 09:58

Hellloooooo!!!!

It is quiet, isn't it Congrats for your dh Hopey, that's a fantastic time.

It seems we are all busy at the moment, also apart from the odd tooth there isn't much developmentally happening with the lo's to boast about either at the moment

I saw the physio yesterday and he has given me the all clear to start training again, so that's cool. Ben isn't doing anything exciting atm, no teeth, no sitting, he does keep rolling onto his front though and then crying because he doesn't like it

Hope everyone is well
