OK I'm back, but still haven't read the posts, sorry if there's been something important that I've missed
I've been so tired today (went to bed at midnight last night and got up at 8 this morning, but really stupidly tired!).
FioFio: GD to see you again
ABMum: sorry about DH's little mishap with Scrabulous, maybe he was jealous I was playing with someone else

Lolly's been a good girl today. I had my gran round and she had fun trying to hack her glasses off her face and tried to play "honk" with her too (this is Lolly's favourite game, she bats your nose and you have to say "honk" ).
Also, she's having great fun lately playing peekaboo (usually as I put her down to bed she pulls the blanket up over her head then whips it off again and laughs, it's gorgeous but still, IT'S BED TIME DAMNIT!! lol)

Anywho, off again, going to have a peek at ebay, (covet covet) night all, hope you get some decent sleep tonight
xXx

sophus · 04/04/2008 15:51

Linus has had two seminal experiences in the past two days, yesterday he went in a supermarket trolley by himself, and thought that life didn't get much better than that until today when he went on the baby swings at the park and his face was pure joy from start to finish. Sure he'll be dreaming about it tonight. Watching all the boys haring around throwing themselves off climbing frames though made me realise that once he can walk i will never actually let him leave the house in case he hurts himself. Well, maybe when he is 45-ish.
oh and back to sleeping through last night - phew.

Hi Lulabellx1
My Lolly was 11 days late (on the 23rd) and by that point I gave up and had her induced, couldn't bare the SPD any longer (they were a bit busy when I went in to be induced so asked if I'd be happy to go home and come back the next day. . . I glared at the poor woman and just said "get it out get it out get it out!!!" lol)

Update on Lolly's faves:
fave game: HONK! fave toys: mummy's nose HONK!, flappy bat, blossom farm cot activity thing (Dillon Donkey plays Brahms lullaby quite loud when you pull the carrot, no good for soothing her to sleep but still she loves it!).
fave food: apple and pear pudding with rusk, chocolate rice pudding (both homemade of course! )
fave person: Well, duh, me of course! (but occasionally dh gets a look in!)
fave outfit: Stripey star or little cow (I made the start outfit and my gran sent her the cow for xmas, will post a pic of her in them soon )
fave sound: HONK!

Took DD1 swimming today, it was lovely but realised that I need to let her get properly wet otherwise she's going to be scared of the water when she's older. . . so, after she watched a little boy jump off the side, she decided she wanted to do that too! So, I let her! I was in front of her to catch her but after the 4th or 5th time I just let her go for it. She wasn't best pleased that her head was soaked but I just kept telling her that "it's only water" and she just got used to it. As long as I was in front of her there wasn't a problem.

Well, it'll be Lolly's turn when DD1 starts pre-school at the end of April! That should be interesting. Got to go shopping for a swimming costume though (and possibly an inflatable chair too )

Arbensmum · 04/04/2008 17:36

Hello and welcome Lulabell
Well I am one excited little thing. WE book ed our flights for Albania yesterday. We go on the 19th for a week!! This will be my forst holiday since sept 2006 anywhere, ukk and abroad! I cant wait. Will be interesting to see how e got on with Arben on the plane but at least DH will be there too. Dh's dad hasn't been to well and his DB has just told him a scanhis dad had before xmas showed he had tumors on his bones, something they neglected to tell us at the time, so Dh wants to go and see his dad for himself and prob get a second opinion. The health service in Albania isn't that great, quite shocking. I have never been so shocked in my life when my sister in law had a kidney op when we were ther in 2006, it was horrible
Any way, I cant wait to take DS swimming, he loves his bathes and doesn't mind the water on his face at all! He is also quite partial to the odd gulp of water too!
Hope you are all well
take care
x

Lollypopzmummy · 04/04/2008 22:58

ooh ooh guess what?!! Lolly's first tooth is on it's way!! I definately felt a sharp little bit this evening! How easy is this tooth?! I didn't even think any were coming yet as she's not been teething!
I gave her some mashed squash from my plate and just felt it, it was brilliant (although her face when I gave her the squash wasn't too impressed lol).

Lausy · 05/04/2008 05:33

Hi,

First time on here - and please just make a note of the ridiculous time - have been up since 2 and finally admitted to myself that I wouldn't be getting back to sleep...!

The stats for my little wonder are as follows:

Age: 6 1/2 months
Height: Not a clue
Weight: 9kg
Sitting: He can sit up but not for long, he likes to just lean right forward and end up on all fours!
Rolling: Constantly back and forwards, especially at nappy changing times, I usually end up only putting cream on the changing mat...?!
Sleep: 7pm to 3am (feed at about 10pm) rock back to sleep until 7ish
Teeth: 2 jaggedy sharp bottom teeth, its very entertaining to watch him working out exactly what they are - constantly gurning!!! Although the sleepless nights made me wish I had never wondered when they would arrive!!
Noises: Nothing much, just random shouting and high pitched girly screams!!
Fave toy: Parsnip the bunny on his car seat

MrsBumblebee · 05/04/2008 07:32

Hi newcomers!

Just a quick post - I'm off to my parents for a few days this morning, and to meet my sister's new baby hopefully (she's being induced this afternoon). DH is away on a school trip for six days (this is day 3, not that I'm counting!!). Having looked after Paul for just a couple of days on my own, I've got SO much respect for all those mothers who do this on their own all the time - especially bathtime .

Also, Sophus, just wanted to say 'snap'. Paul adores going in the supermarket trolley. I think it's because he can gaze at my beautiful face all the way round, and I chat away to him and get him to 'help' me choose what we buy. Lots of the other shoppers clearly think I'm mad. Am I unusual? I talk to Paul pretty much constantly when we're out and about. But then I'm not easily embarrassed . Also, the double 'snap' is that I took Paul on the baby swings the other day as well, and he reacted exactly the same as Linus - just couldn't believe that an activity could be such unbelievable fun. Very cute!

Right, I'm off to pack the car up (another activity which is not so easy on your own...). Sorry not to say hi to everyone else - I'll catch up properly when I get back.

Lollypopzmummy · 05/04/2008 11:32

Hi Lausy, nice to meet you Whereabouts do you live? I'm finding it hard to find folk in my area too (figured if we're close enough we could get together and exchange horror stories about said 6 month olds )

Mrsbumblebee I remember doing bath time with DD1, we totally gave up using the baby bath and now one of us is in with one of the girls, it's just so much easier to have one in with you than to have to sit outside, struggling to keep hold of the slippery little tyke and wash them at the same time!

Oh golly, I can't wait for DH to get back and take DD1 to his parent's, she's currently running round in circles making as much noise as she can (being more noise than I thought ever possible for any child to make!), I'm breathing deeply. . . DEEPLY. . . DEEPLY. . . [arggh emoticon]!

I don't know what I'm doing today, kind of hoping to take Lolly into town but not sure yet, suppose I should wait and see when DH is going , he's been rather reluctant to tell me his plans for the day (right up until this morning) and I have the feeling that he's now taking longer at Tesco so he doesn't have to go (that's what he thinks). He was going on earlier that we need to finish digging up the garden, I pointed out that we've got tomorrow free and, also, that nothing turned up for Monday (in the way of work that is) so if we don't get it finished tomorrow we'll finish it then. . . Blargh!

Anywho, got to go, baby needs feeding soon!
xXx

Nice to meet you to! I live in Isleworth in Middlesex, where abouts do you live? Would love to exchange horror stories and have a bit of a giggle, I miss all the girliness I used to have at work.

Bathtime with my DS is so funny, I run the water just a little way up and let him lie flat in the bath with his little duck that changes colours! He loves having a good old splash around and finds it hilarious when I wash his hair...??!!!

Am so tired today, stayed up until 6 this morning and then finally crashed exhaustedly into bed next to DH! Woke up at 11 to screaming DS as DH couldn't remember what time he fed him in the morning so he didn't realise he was hungry again...!

Have been manically trying to teach my DS the word 'dada' now that I know its possible to teach them words - I thought he was way too young for that.

kinki · 05/04/2008 13:47

Oh forgot to say Mrs B, for bathtimes when dh is away, hire an 8 and 3 year old. They come in very handy. The 8yo holds the baby in his lap while the 3yo entertains him. All you have to do is give them a quick wash and then leave them to it. Result! It's hard work getting them out though. Hey, you can borrow my lads if you want. I'm sure they'd be happy to help! Just send them back to me all clean.

Lollypopzmummy · 05/04/2008 16:59

Kinki sorry to hear that your Dh isn't very considerate, (especially with the not washing thing, that's just gross!), but tbh, when he's not there, isn't it worth throwing the load in the washing machine? (Or maybe get another set of bedding and just take them off when he's on his way home?! ).

Sorry Lausy I'm in Salisbury, so not a lot of good eh, but still we could do the swapping of stories on here I suppose lol
Ooh you are a selfless one aren't you? I've been constantly saying "mamamama" at Lolly in the hope that'll she'll say mama first! Anyone else?

Lolly's not having a good day today (maybe teething) but she's up there having a hissy fit so must be awf!
xXx

LisaLessLumpy · 07/04/2008 08:22

dal21 · 07/04/2008 08:53

morning all! welcome to the newcomers!

had a fab weekend. went to a local garden nursery on saturday and ryan absolutely loved it!

then yesterday took a long walk in the snow. ryan was mesmerised.

am well rested and very chilled today. may it last all week!

how is everyone? lisalesslumpy - how goes the rest of the weight loss. i am stuck 6lbs away from my target goal - but am gradually starting to up my running speed and incline so aim to get the stubborn bits shifted by the time we head to spain in june - have about 9 weeks, so is doable methinks.

kink - really hope your week away goes well. thinking of you.

hope to see evryone else posting soon and catching up with your news.

LisaLessLumpy · 07/04/2008 09:09

Hi Dal. I am 7lb off my pre-pregnancy weight, but want to lose another stone on top of that I started my first session of running on thursday for the race for life but have irritated my left hip. It has been bothering me slightly for a while but since the run it is hurting more, so much so I really can't run on it, it hurts to walk upstairs! I have just made an appt to see the doc this afternoon as I'm gutted I can't train with my friend as I was hoping that it would help me shift those extra pounds too. Plus I really wanted to run the three miles not walk it

dal21 · 07/04/2008 10:53

Oh Lisa - sorry to hear that! dont worry too much, a few exercises and stretches may sort it out fairly quickly. Is it your hip flex joint? sometimes something just pops and after some stretching, it pops back in. Hope the doc can get it sorted. Feel better soon
