PLP-Sorry to hear about Cerys' cough, Millie has one too-we took her to Dr who said it was nothing to worry about and chest sounded clear so that was good, but it is sounding bad at night bless her.

Millie drank some juice out of a carton with a straw a few days ago! We were surpried that she knew what to do with it but she did.

Millie has been a bit wingey recently, her two bootom teeth are now through and we think they are giving her pain...

Just bought her a playmat and bookcase for her nursery from Blooming Marvellous!!

Hello to everyone-Kinki I hope you are ok!!

Lollypopzmummy · 26/05/2008 12:12

Hello ladies, just thought I'd pop in and see if anyone had posted

PLP You've reminded me that we need to get Lolly a doidy cup. . . she's got a little beaker but didn't really take to it (might try it again until we DH gets paid).

Lolly's been having mashed food for the past few days and has done pretty well with it (althought yesterday she did choke on the stem of a piece of broccoli cos I took my eyes off her whilst eating my dinner. . . numbnuts! ), so far she's had cod/potatoes/peas/broccoli, broccoli/sweetcorn/chicken (chicken was liquidised with some veg them mashed veg added to it), boiled apple/pear, melon, banana. She's loving the new game , I also bought her some chocolate flavour soya dessert (it's a bit like blamanche (?sp)) she likes that after the initial tasting (it stains like crazy though) and soya custard (whcih I really like, she hardly gets a look in ) and mashed banana.

Did anyone else watch Eurovision? We did and got to play the shot game too, and found that I can still hold my drink (even better than DH too!), so am a very happy bunny about that!

I've lost 10 lb in the past six weeks, which is mostly down to the lack in buses, meaning that I've got to push the girl's uphill for twenty minutes to catch a bus. . . blessing in disguise! And all despite the fact that DH managed to bring home 11 boxes of Green & Black's organic chocolate about a week ago!
Unfortunately, we're all stuck indoors today as it's pouring it down, I was hoping to take the girls for a nice long walk but ho-hum, it'll just have to wait wont it!

I've got an appointment on Wednesday with a hairdresser but I'm still not totally sure if I even want my hair cut (it's a consultation to be a model and, by the sounds of it, they want to go all out and be able to hack it all off if the mood takes them ), this is still in prep for the mask ball in June, I don't know whether to have my hair "pixie" short or "fairy" long. . . any suggestions?
I've got dyes red/brown hair just past my shoulders atm, and a friend said she'd put the tongs through it (if I want to keep it long) and work it around the tiara that I've bought. . . which I can't decide whether it'd look good or not if my hair was short, and, of course, DH wants my hair short like it was for our wedding, but then again he doesn't have to get up every morning and style it whilst sorting out the girls with their breakfast etc, and most mornings I don't even have time to put make-up on, let alone style my hair , but it would look dead sexy like that again (I really loved having it short), but then I wont be able to put it in wool this summer. . . Oh pants, I just can't decide!
You decide for me!

Hope everyone's keeping well and the LO's are behaving themselves!
xXx

had a crap few days not had chance to catch up on here ben really not well, he has been throwing up since friday morning, he is not keeping anything down phoned nhs direct twice, seen an out of hours doc yesterday but he said nothing to be done about it unless gets rea.lly dehydrated... surely 4 days in and still going strong is not right though? i am sick of washing and cleaning up sick. His nappies are very dry but no other real signs of dehydration so he must be getting some liquids at least. Mind you he isn't happy though and has been more listless today than any other. Also Sam has been not himself today and dh was ill yesterday. I know they can't help being ill but I'm getting sick of it now Going to take him to see my doc tomorrow, even if she sends me away again at least I feel like I am trying to help.

This latest bout of sickness has come after two weeks of him throwing up occasionally after a coughing fit or gagging on food as I had started the second stage of weaning. Food is on hold since saturday, its better to just clean up milk sick rather than food sick.

I thought it might have been teething but there is no sign of any teeth even on the horizon. I'm just thanking my stars that at least he is still sleeping through the night.

sorry its a me me me post, I have't the energy to catch up with everyone and I am on sick alert too as he has just had a bottle. I am expecting carnage again at any point...

I will try and catch up on here a little more often too, I do try and read every day even though I haven't been posting.

Hope you are all well

Lollypopzmummy · 26/05/2008 18:46

Oh LLL I hope he gets better soon, sounds like you're really going through it lately. . . we're here if you need to off load at any point (well, I'm here at least every day nothing better to do but sewing, the weather's rubbish!).

xXx

EdieMcredie · 26/05/2008 21:20

Oh no LLL!! Sounds dreadful. Re the docs, my doctor said the other day 'you can never bring a baby to the doctor too much when they are ill' which I thought was lovely. Yes, take him again, they can become dehydrated quickly! Hope he gets better quickly...all that milk will do him good, even if he does bring most back up!

Lolly-sounds like weaning is going well-don't worry too much when they gag and seem to choke-it is normal. Can be frightening!!

Millie had home made salmon en croute today with veg and potatoes-trying to get her to feed herself with a spoon which is interesting! She is far happier with her fingers!!

amyclaramum · 26/05/2008 21:52

Hello everyone ! Sorry haven't posted for ages - it was Eloise's Christening yesterday so I've been really busy organising everything (and panicking about the weather !) Anyway the service was lovely and the rain stopped in time for our 45 guests to eat out in the garden and the sun even came out ! Eloise really enjoyed all the attention too and was really happy all day.

Anyway sorry LLL that Ben is being sick - poor little thing - hope he gets better soon.

love to everyone else !!

Enjoy the Half term x

Lollypopzmummy · 26/05/2008 22:29

acmum glad you both had a lovely day

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 26/05/2008 22:37

Evening all, having a mad quick scan through, hi everyone.

PLP, so sorry to hear your little angel is suffering again, SO SO unfair for her (and you), she's been through such a lot already and seems to cope amazingly well (as do you!). Keeping fingers crossed that she is on the mend bloomin soon. Is the inhaler going to be a permanent thing, or is it a wait and see type? Did you see Superman 2 on the telly on Saturday? DH was pleased to announce that Niamh wasn't in the slightest bit interested in our hero. I was telling her all about how Lois isn't good enough for him but she would be!

LLL sorry to hear you're surrounded by poorly ones too. Horrid, when it's all around you, it must feel like you're trapped in an 'illness bubble' and there's no way out. I DO hope you get some joy when you see the docs tomorrow.

Lolly, thank you for the sling, it arrived promptly , although I have to confess to not having had a chance to try it out yet! Thanks for the instructions too. How are your driving lessons going?

Aw ACMum, how did the christening go yesterday, brings back some memories that does! Can you post some pics on your profile, would love to see them.

PLP, you have my sympathies about your DS going away on a residential, my DS2 went to Wales last week, albeit for 2 nights, but I missed him dreadfully.

I'm trying to cheer DH up at the moment, he's going through a pretty bad patch just now. NOT like him at all, he's AMAZINGLY resilient and accepting most of the time, but things seem to be really getting him down at the moment. He mentioned he's going through a coming to terms period. We had to see a consultant on Tuesday, at the request of the company we're suing, and the consultants EXACT words were....'ok, show me what you can do with your arm...ah, not much I see.....have you thought about amputation'

Fucking idiot. Excuse language, but he has unbelievably knocked DH for six, am so cross. He could WELL do without throw away comments like that. DH's physiotherapist and Orthopaedic surgeon are livid, they're going to write a very strongly worded letter of complaint. Poor DH, am really feeling for him just now. Feels strange him being down. We've been together for 15 yrs and I've hardly ever seen him like this. I guess it's bound to happen from time to time.

Anyway, must go and put bins out, am knackered and need my bed, had flipping 'Gatecrasher' noise filling my bedroom for the past 2 nights, was still booming away at 4:30 this morning ! God I feel old.

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 26/05/2008 22:38

PS come on Kinki, dal and HammerHead and and and the rest of you....... come baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 26/05/2008 22:39

PS have you looked at my profile pic recently, THERE IS THE CUTEST PIC ON THERE!!!

Lollypopzmummy · 27/05/2008 00:27

Hopey: OMG That pic is sooooooooo cute!!
I'm so angry for your DH and yourself at the consultants comment, what is it with these "professionals" and their throw away comments? They seem to be doing it all the time, or do they have a quota on how many people they can offend, you know, just to make their life seem interesting?!

xXx

amyclaramum · 27/05/2008 20:16

Helloooo Hopey and Lolly - hope you had a good day ? Gorgeous gorgeous photo Hopey of your Niamh ! I will try and put a picture of Eloise in her Christening finery on my profile - i am unfortunately a bit technically challenged but will give it a go ! As for your poor DH - words fail me at the utter insensitivity of that Ortho-thingy consultant person. I'm sure its just one opinion but it must have really shocked your DH - no wonder he is feeling low !

PLP - sorry to hear Cerys is poorly again - hope she is getting better ? Eloise seems to have one cold after another - constantly runny nose ! - so attractive !

We are off tomorrow to the Isle of Wight for a few days so I will post when I get back.

Hope everyone else is ok ?

LisaLessLumpy · 27/05/2008 21:28

Cute picture Hopey, and I echo what other have said about the consultant, what a horrible thing to say

amyclaramum - have a great time

PLP - hope Cerys is better soon.

I took Ben to see the doc today, I wasn't going to as he kept last nights bottle down and also his breakfast, but at 11am he threw up loads again so thought it better to get checked out. the doc said he thinks he has got gastroenteritis which can last up to 8 days. This was the 5th day so hopefully the vomitting will stop soon. Nothing to be done other than keep getting the fluids down him. He had one other vomit this evening but I'm getting good now, I have caught both lots in the duplo bucket I was even sadder.. I then poured it back into the bottle just to see how much he was throwing up But hopefully there is now light at the end of the tunnel. There better be, dh and I are due to go to London for the weekend on friday morning

EdieMcredie · 28/05/2008 08:13

Thought I better upload some recent photos too...

Oops wrong thread

Lollypopzmummy · 28/05/2008 11:39

OMGoodness! We've all got the same baby, I swear!
This morning I looked at Lolly and thought she looked very similar to Arben and now looking at Edie's pictures I'm thinking we've managed to somehow clone a child, question is which on eis the real baby?!

I'm out to go and have my consultation with the hairdresser today to see what I'm doing with my hair for the ball, I had finally brought myself round to the idea of having it cut short and my friends have now voted for me to have it long,I'm so confused all over again! tut tut! Typical!

xXx

EdieMcredie · 28/05/2008 13:27

Haha, I think you are right!!

PurpleLostPrincess · 28/05/2008 20:07

Hello ladies, so lovely to see this thread pick up a bit again

Hopey - and at the consultant for saying such a truly awful, insensitive thing!!! My heart really does go out to you, I've been the wife of a severely depressed man for nearly 6 years now so I've got an idea of what you're going through (although every situation is different of course). If you ever need to chat, you've got my number, I bet we could chat for hours if given the chance! Those pics of Niamh are absolutely gorgeous, what a beautiful little stunner! That reminds me, I've loaded some of Cerys too from the last couple of months...

fwiw loopy, I think you should stay long, I've always been a fan of long hair, not sure why! You could always put it up perhaps?

Well, DH got a call yesterday begging him to come back to work!! . He's worked there for a couple of months the last couple of years but ended up walking out both times as he couldn't handle it with his illness etc. He went in today however and gave it a shot -they've re-located and he really likes it so he's come home full of beans saying he's going to stick it out this time. Not sure how I feel as its a big risk to take - I'll be spending tomorrow sorting out all the benefits etc (they'd only just got sorted out but hey ho, work is good!). So, I'm now faced with being a proper SAHM which is very strange but in a good way! I'm going to miss having him around as we're really really close but I think it'll be good for both of us. Also, I get my house back and I'm hoping to get into my own routine etc with Cerys and the kids. I'm secretly really excited as things could change for the better but also apprehensive as we've been here before and the bad days can be really bad!

DS went to France - that was a drama too lol! I dropped him off at school and stood waving at the coach balling my eyes out (and getting soaked!). I got in the car and boo'd all the way home, went to get out of the car and saw his wallet on the front seat of the car !!!!!! We managed to get hold of the teacher on the coach and my Dad drove after them, he eventually caught up with them and they pulled over in Maidstone at the services and DS got his wallet in the end - what a palaver! He saved every penny of that spending money so Dad was determined that he got to take it with him (he's never been good with money bless him!). Also, his dads girlfriend was due to have her baby last week and they did a stretch and sweep today so who knows, he might just come home to a new sister and his step-dad working!!!

Well, I'd better go now - I'm cooking DH a nice big dinner as I'm so proud of him for today!

Love to all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PurpleLostPrincess · 28/05/2008 20:10

Oops, Lolly, not loopy, sorry!

Lollypopzmummy · 28/05/2008 22:28

Crikey PLP, what a palava with your DS! Sounds like great fun!
Glad your DH is looking to go back to work, easy does it though, he definately can't be jumping in with both feet. . . is he going back full time or starting with part time to ease things?

Well, I'm having the actual hairdressing appointment next tuesday and will leave it until then to decide exactly what I'm doing (at the very least I now know that, if feeling lazy in the mornings, I can put a band of fabric round my head, like the freaking hippy that I am, and get away with it ), but the main hairdresser, (it's a trainging day but the girl doing my hair is fully qualified), might say keep it long for the ball and come back at a later date and get it cut, which I wont cos it would then cost money but there you go, that'd be my decision made wouldn't it?!

Had an Ok day, hammered it down whilst we were in town and we all got soaked but got home, dressed, fed the girls and they went off to bed, so all good.

Hope everyone else isn't suffering too much with the cruddy weather, I hope it brightens up for the weekend, I was planning on getting a load of stuff to a car boot sale, we're are, yet again, tight on cash.

Ooh, we're watching a program on mechaphiles. . . weirdos that are out there, very weird!!

xXx

EdieMcredie · 29/05/2008 11:17

Is anyone going to see SATC soon? I saw it last night and it was FAB!!!!

Love to all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Lollypopzmummy · 29/05/2008 11:41

DH wont let me go and watch it at the cinema (fair enough we don't have enough money, but he said he wouldn't pay for me to go and spend £15 odd just to watch a film he can get pirated. . . , but then you know he wouldn't let me watch it if he's in the house cos that sort of American humour makes him roll his eyes lol).

LisaLessLumpy · 29/05/2008 13:55

Afternoon everyone.

Ben still puking here, twice so far today, the second time just as I started the car to go and see the HV the sun has come out so there is now going to be a rancid sick smell in the car At the start of the month he weighed 20 pounds 11 ounces... he now weighs 19 pound 9 ounces, has dropped from the 91st centile down to just above the 50th. Thank goodness he was a decent weight before this happened. Luckily he is still quite cheery but its really getting me down now I am supposed to be going away to London with DH in the morning till sunday afternoon, we have loads booked which we will lose money on if we back out now. Do you think I am a bad mummy if I still go? Actually maybe I don't really want to know the answer to that... I think we may go, we may just have to expect an early summons home if he gets any worse.

The sun is now out here and it is glorious, pity I have so much housework to do including a load of ironing

dal21 · 30/05/2008 05:52

Morning all

Poppng on v quickly to say hi. Been at mums for the last 2 weeks. Caught shingles of all things - very very painful - caught it early so only spread on my torso but it wasnt pleasant. So basically decided to stay there with DH coming up every weekend. But am heaps better in time for my holiday next week and fingers crossed Ryan hasnt contracted chickenpox. I was hoping he would but now hope it stays away.

Will read all posts and catch up later, but Ryan is coming on soo much. He wants to be standing when doing everything. Even when having his nappy changed and being dressed. Finger foods are much more popular on occasion than his pureed foods. Very quickly saw questions on doidy cup and milk intake. He takes anywhere between 18 and 21 oz each day and although he likes the doidy cup, more ends up on the floor than anywhere else. Ohh, maybe we should do that questionnaire we did a while back to update on how our bubs are...will find it later, unless one of you lovely ladies finds it.

Right - catch up on all your posts later. Hope all well.
