Hey everyone,
alice - the willy story is very funny PMSL
anyasmum - glad you enjoyed playgroup, or rather Anya did! Dylan has started to play rough a bit too, mostly with my face, often gets slapped, scratched, headbutted. My hair gets pulled also and he swung of one of my earings the other day - ouch. he has also started trying to grab his cousins face and hea and squealing at him, luckily his cousin is 18mo so can escape!
LLL - glad the sickness is slowing down, hope Ben feels a lot better soon
floria - that height thing sounds totally random, they might as well not bother if there is basically a 20cm difference between the lowest and highest they can predict! I don't even know what height I am in cm, only feet i'm afraid.
Crochet - well done on loosing the weight, thats about the amound I need to loose, have been walking lots but can't stop eating 'treats', I feel sick at the amount of bad stuff i've had today but it was fil's birthday so thats my excuse .
Well, the weigh in was good, he's put 4oz on in 2 weeks and is now 13lb 11 and a half oz. Not a lot but he's gradually following the bottom line. It was the nice hv today, she said he's just a dinky little man and is very active and she thinks he's totally fine. Said I could wait a month before getting him weighed again if I want as he seems to be doing well. I said i'd probably go back in 3 weeks as I like to know and can't help myself! I told her I was waiting for an appointment from the baby doc, she said it was best to see him anyway but she suspects no problems with him. So that made me feel a lot more relaxed about the whole thing .
I also managed to make my docs appointment after all! I was doing well, calmly explaining to her how i'd been feeling when I suddenly burst in to tears - Very Embarassing! It was just as I was telling her about the suicidal thoughts i'd had. I think just saying it out loud upset me. Anyway she was nice and said even though i'm feeling better at the mo to go and see her in a few weeks and tell her how I am then and they'll 'keep an eye' on me to see how I am. I explained i'd been stressed over Dylan's weight gain too and she said he seemed totallt fine to her and was the right weight for his height. She said not to worry about him at all and that the doc i'm going to see about him is really nice and he'll probably put my mind at rest. She said not to worry about anything that might be wrong with him that I might think i've 'missed' as i'm not a doctor so even if there was a prob I wouldn't know what to look for anyway and it was up to the baby doc to check that. She said he looked great to her and to stop worrying
So, i'm glad I went just for the chat and hope I carry on feeling good.
Well, off to bed for me, hi to anyone i've forgotten, chat soon

LisaLessLumpy · 29/05/2008 05:49

Great news Dal

FloriaTosca · 29/05/2008 09:19

Oh Dal! i'm thrilled that the nice hv and doc are happy with dylans weight and relieved that you have seen your gp (who sounds a lovely down to earth type)wonderful that you said what you feel out loud and the chat alone has done you a power of good.the security of knowing that you are being watched over is a weight off your mind too.(ours as well!)
sorry for the lack of capitals, alex is monopolising one arm

muppetgirl · 29/05/2008 09:50

Dal -so pleased to hear you went to the Dr and pleased you are now keeping an eye on things. A huge relief for Dylans weight gain...

Well, swimming was great and I actually managed to get both boys dried before they got cold. I took them to Portsmouth yesterday to see my bf and we went walking by the sea. The three of us got absolutely soaking but H was fine as he was under a plastic rain cover and it was almost like a sauna in his pushchair. Ollie loves the sea and didn't want to come home but was bribed with a return visit where he'll be staying over night so he was eventually fine. I loved it, walking in the weather by the wild sea blew some cobwebs away for me...I am definately a nature girl at heart

Am just off to play tennis so glad all are okay - Unicorn, how are you?

See all later
x

Dalrymps · 29/05/2008 09:54

Thanks floria and LLL, am glad I went
It's a glorious day today here, Tess (the dog) is sat out in the garden like a lady of leisure and Dylan is rolling around laughing to himself on his playmat. He keeps laughing everytime I do an impression of Tess too, thinks it's hilarious
Made a rhubabrb crumble yesterday, never made one before but fil gave me some rhubabrb put of his garden and I fancied giving it a go. I took it down to pil's for after his tea as he loves a crumble. It was nice but a bit tangy, I put more sugar in than the recipe said but it could have done with more I think, ah well I'll know for next time, they all seemed to like it anyway.
Well, I think i'll definately be going for a walk today, must get some washing/tidying done first though. Keep putting it off but it can wait no more!
Off to look on ebay for cool clothes for Dylan
Have a nice day everyone, chat soon x

Dalrymps · 29/05/2008 09:57

x-posted, thanks muppet. Glad the swimming went ok and you had a nice time by the sea, I love love love the beach. There's one 5 mins from me, must go there for a walk soon!

inzi, I thought tap water was ok after 6 months, at least thats what I give, when he'll take it!

crochetdiva · 29/05/2008 11:41

Dal - am soooooo relieved that your gp and hv are now talking sense ... am even more at the other hv - let me at her, she needs a good slap, upsetting you like that! Am really glad that you managed to let it all out - knowing somebody else outside the immediate family knows, and understands, and can tell you that you're doing a great job (which you are by the way! ) is a real help in itself - I found that the moment I told my gp about how I was feeling, I started to feel better, as she didn't dismiss my feelings. Go girl - am very proud of you!
Rhubarb crumble is lovely - my rhubarb is fantastic at the moment - I use candarel instead of sugar when making my crumbles - and I put oats in the crumble topping - yum - it's also nice just stewed, and eaten mived into a vanilla muller light (SW talking there!)
Don't worry about losing the weight unless you think that doing it will help you emotionally - if you deny yourself something you really want, it won't help your mood!

inzi - I've never given Mairwen cooled boiled water - it's always come straight from the tap! [bad mother emoticon] ... I also stopped sterilising everything at about 4 1/2 months [super-bad mother emoticon]

muppetgirl - glad you enjoyed swimming &portsmouth - and that the rain didn't cramp your style too much!

Well, I'm at dh ... the ancient pug was booked in for its mot this morning by him - he's working away this week - and I busted a gut to get me (and both children!) to the garage for a reasonable time ... as we'd have to walk back ... so bundled into the car we had - children, R's scooter (to stop him whinging about walking!), the wheels to put on the car seat (we never use it like that any more, so I had to take the pram apart) bag packed, whatever ... I got there just before 9am ... to find that it's actually tomorrow I have to take it ... so I've got to do the whole she-bang again tomorrow morning [grrrrr] ... I phoned dh, and left a message with one of the people he works with, as he was driving the van at the time ... has he phoned me back to apologise? Has he hell!

We're going to the farm park this afternoon - am loking forward to it - haven't been out with the people from an class for ages!

Time for a cup of tea, I think ... love to all - have a good day!

Dalrymps · 29/05/2008 11:56

Crochet - good rhubabrb ideas, will get on to it straight away as I still have some left to use up!
I would have been very annoyed with all the effort at getting to the garage just to find it was tomorrow! I think dh deserves a forefit.
Have fun at the farm park

LisaLessLumpy · 29/05/2008 13:54

Afternoon everyone.

Ben still puking here, twice so far today, the second time just as I started the car to go and see the HV the sun has come out so there is now going to be a rancid sick smell in the car At the start of the month he weighed 20 pounds 11 ounces... he now weighs 19 pound 9 ounces, has dropped from the 91st centile down to just above the 50th. Thank goodness he was a decent weight before this happened. Luckily he is still quite cheery but its really getting me down now I am supposed to be going away to London with DH in the morning till sunday afternoon, we have loads booked which we will lose money on if we back out now. Do you think I am a bad mummy if I still go? Actually maybe I don't really want to know the answer to that... I think we may go, we may just have to expect an early summons home if he gets any worse.

The sun is now out here and it is glorious, pity I have so much housework to do including a load of ironing

AnyasMum07 · 29/05/2008 16:35

Alice - crumbs, no idea what to call girlie bits - don't even want to have to think about that yet! Hope you're feeling better - glad you had a nice weekend.

Crochet - hope it wasn't too traumatic at A&E. Well done with the weight loss! When are you off to France?

Dal - so glad the weigh-in went well - Dylan sounds like he's doing just fine, and that hv sounds much more sensible. Can you arrange to just get him weighed when she's on? Glad your doc was sympathetic - must have been an emotional day altogether! - hope you're feeling better about things now.

Inzi - poor Jane, hope she's feeling better. Haven't been giving Anya water - I give her juice at mealtimes (Heinz unsweetened - although yes I know it's naturally sweet).

Lisa - sorry Ben is still poorly - is it getting any less frequent? If he's happy when he's not puking I think you'd be ok going away for the weekend - if he's going to be sick whether you're here or there you might as well be there.

Well I've got a free afternoon, so catching up with lots of rubbishy jobs (between posting on here!) - parents have taken Anya out and I was supposed to have an interview, but got a call from the agency this morning to say that the MD had only just realised that I wanted to work part-time. Much to-ing and fro-ing later, had a chat with the woman who was going to interview me and she said when she worked part-time for him she was under a lot of pressure to increase her hours. Nice of her to be honest, so I decided not to waste my time going. Have 2 second interviews next week so think one of them at least will work out.

Re height calculators - well if you think they're pointless for you lot....

crochetdiva · 29/05/2008 17:32

muppetgirl · 29/05/2008 18:44

Alice - I've heard of 'minnie' being used for girlie bits but we use vagina, I know it's not technically right but hey, it'll do. I suppose really it's a question of what wouldn't you mind being --shouted- said by your boys in moments of huge embarrassment. (public loos...when your girlie friends come over ect ec x)

Dal - the garden sounds lovely, am very jealous of your grass x

Henry's sticky eyes are back so he looks like something out of star treck at the mo. His bed isfull of what looks ike dred boogies, lovely. Once again it doesn't bother him though.

LLL- Thta's a toughy whether to go or not. I missed a trip to Canada 2 years as Ollie had tummy pains and we were at A & E at 1am and I had to leave at 6am to catch the plane. I hadn't seen my brothers in Canada for ages. I wish I had've gone as Ollie was absolutely fine the next day

Inzi - You are so lucky to have Grandparents, mine died years ago and Dh's Gran died at Christmas and she was the last on his side. I wish my nan could have met my boys, she would have loved them....

Crochet- grrrrrrrr at your husband!!!! Will find the date again when we are visiting Cardiff. Thanks for the places to avoid tip -we don't know Cardiff at all.

Dalrymps · 29/05/2008 21:33

muppet - the front garden is about the size of a postage stamp but tess seems to like it

J2O · 30/05/2008 00:04

just a quickie

LLL-if he seems ok in himself i would still go, whos having them? if they're ok with it then just go, you can always come back if need be. And i hope he's better soon, Shannon has always been a sicky baby, it gets everywhere and does stink eugh, i'm normally a walking vomit smell!

can't remember who asked but i always used 'front bum' but my friend calls it 'mary' so now dd1 calls it that too, as in, when my friends little boy was about 3 i took him to the loo with me and he had a bit of a stare, and then proclaimed that my mary was bigger than his mummys, oh right thanks for that M!!

haven't read through properly will try to get on tommorrow, sorry for any important bits ive not mentioned xx

FloriaTosca · 30/05/2008 10:27

Dalrymps · 30/05/2008 11:39

Hi everyone, just on the subject of 'lady bits' I think when I was at primary school we used to refer to it as our 'fairy' not realy sure why
J20 - pmsl at the 'mary' story!

yourlonglostpal · 30/05/2008 12:07

HI!!!! everyone - no time - Huw entertaining himself on the floor but it won't last. Just needed to say Hello before I lost you completely! Sorry I've not been on. I do realise that on-line communities only work if you actually go on-line sometimes, but I've been finding it impossilbe to find the time lately. Especially has master Huwit no longer lets me use the computer when he's feeding - he keeps turning round and wanting to play with the keyboard.

Hope everyone's ok. I WILL be back soon.

A xxx

Dalrymps · 30/05/2008 15:54

Hey YLLP - glad you're doing ok, hope to hear from you again soon, lol at huw playing with the keyboard.
Is it just me or have the emoticons changed, the smile is a bit more manic than it was - see!

Dalrymps · 30/05/2008 15:55

Not sure I like the new ones, at least the is the same...
