hey baby is fine im surprised i seen it i have a 3cm cyst but she said my body should take care of it its self

phoned docs about lo and she said to let the virus run its course and she would see him in a week to listen to his chest but then she heard him wheezing down the phone so said to bring him in at 20 to 6

tasha22 · 25/04/2008 16:17

dp seemed annoyed that everything was ok

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 25/04/2008 16:18

oh that's good news that the baby is fine, tasha, I was worried for you! you saw him/her then? cooool, was she a tiny little bean or not even that yet?

Sorry to hear lo's still bad, glad the doctor took prompt action. Hopefully they can get him sorted and feeling better soon.

no it looked like a 12 week scan but they had to do an internal one which wasnt too nice youd think id be used to people seeing my bits by now lol she kept my pics for my folder though yep but def a girl

im glad hes being seen too she mentioned an inhaler and i think that would be better than the 'medicine' they gave him for wheezing as it doesnt do anything

Meandmyjoe · 25/04/2008 17:00

Glad everything's OK Tasha. You must be relieved!

Meandmyjoe · 25/04/2008 17:07

Just realised that there's a couple of people on this thread pregnant again after August babies. Hope your pregnancies are going well and that your babies are behaving to give you the rest you need! I couldn't imagine coping with Joseph and being pregnant. You are all clearly very strong ladies (or just have incredibly easy August babies !!) lol

I am planning for ds to be an only child!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 25/04/2008 17:20

tasha I only just saw what you said about dp being annoyed- kick him in the nuts for me, will you? There's a good girl.

Meandmyjoe, had you always planned on only having one or did you change your mind after having joseph? I always wanted two or three- I still do but I'm so scared of the birth it's really putting me off- if they could guarantee me an early epidural I'd probably be ok but I'm scared of a quick birth where they don't have time to put an epidural in. I had enough pain last time, don't need more again! Plus pregnancy was quite difficult as I had spd from 11 weeks and I was so soooo huge and heavy and swollen and could barely walk at the end, couldn't roll over, couldn't get in and out of the shower, or the car without great difficulty etc. If it's always that bad I'll probably stop at two.

OP posts:
Meandmyjoe · 25/04/2008 17:27

I always planned on having 3. DH wants 2 but I'm not so sure! In many ways I've been very lucky with Joseph. He sleeps like an angel at night and has always fed and developed well. He can be so sweet and such a charmer but within seconds can become a little demon! He's very highly strung and objects very loudly to things most babies wouldn't even notice (eg. getting dressed, wiping hands and face, sitting in a car seat?!) Has to be on the go all the time. He's amazing though, just think he's a frustrated little soul who is raring to go. He doesn't like being a baby. I have every faith he will be an amazing child but it's a long way off! Wouldn't be without him though, I'm so lucky to have unbroken nights I feel guilty for complaining!

Meandmyjoe · 25/04/2008 17:28

I had an easy pregnancy and needed no pain relief in labour either. I am a lucky cow! Sound like you had a rough pregnancy, I'd be reluctant to go through it again too!

tasha22 · 25/04/2008 19:16

Meandmyjoe- i thought ds1 would be an only child too and im going onto number 4 so you never know

james- dp said he was worried for me but not the baby and he would have seenn it as 'for the best'

lo has been given an inhaler for his wheeze and abs for cough ds2 abs for cough too

mamamila · 25/04/2008 19:31

thanks for the advice ladies, it's hard trying to make mila sleep longer or eat and drink when she's not in mood.. very strong willed but i tried to tank her up with more milk before bed. last night dp helped by at least returning her to bed after feeds, i often fall asleep!

ooh congrats tasha and tell me who else is pregnant again. i'd love to be actually, although will probably start complaining from conception!

tasha22 · 25/04/2008 20:05

mamamila- i used to do that when i was bf ds1+2 nothing wrong with that if it means you get a bit more sleep knickers is also pg.

mamamila · 25/04/2008 21:01

exactly tasha, in the day i think of tactics other than bfing then in the middle of the night...boobs are out and i'm back to sleep!

how's your little guy? did he have surgery on his cleft palate? is he doing well? gosh you must have so much energy! and how lucky to have 4 kids at such a young age, it must be alot of fun as well as exhausting

mamamila · 25/04/2008 21:02

i just added new photos of the wee angel/tyrant

tasha22 · 25/04/2008 21:53

awww shes so cute and look how big shes getting. its amazing how fast they grow in the first year.
he hasnt had his palate done yet just the lip and his hard palate has been pulled in ever so slightly at each side he should be getting the rest of his palate done june/july time but i think he needs it done sooner cause he wants to eat solids but annoyed when it goes up intoo his palate. hes due to see the sergeon next mmonth. energy phhh im sitting on here and my house is a tip and i couldnt be bothered lol dps asleep

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 25/04/2008 21:58

Aaw she's cute, look at her standing on her tippytoes, bless! James is geting freakishly strong now- despite not being able to stand unaided (obviously) he's determined he will! so when we hold him under his arms, he fights our hands! he has started to stand against things (his activity station, the sofa etc) holding on, but his balance isn't great yet.

Getting better with the crawling all the time though. He still can't go forwards but he's on all fours, turning round and over scarily fast. He also leans on his side with his upper leg in the air, or lays it in front of him like a model.

When he decides he wants to go somewhere you have no choice as he's so strong! exactly what he was like in the womb when he wouldn't let me lie on my back...

What has happened to my defenceless little baby? The pudgy fat and dimples are still there, but they're coating a mass of muscle and big long strong arms and legs! I sortof miss my little tiny bundle of newborn, (but glad he IS big and strong too iyswim)

OP posts:
mamamila · 25/04/2008 22:13

ah poor wee brave lad, he'll be so amazed when he's older and sees photos of himself as a baby. i have a friend who apparently had a very wide cleft palate and she has only the tiniest hint of a scar under her nose. it's incredible.

and our growing babies,i wonder so often at how this happened so fast. i already miss the tiny floppy newborn, all the hours of cuddling and staring at her sleeping! i definitely miss being able to just lie her down for a moment while i fetched things, which reminds me i have to find plug socket covers.

does everyone else's babies have a single minded fascination for anything they know they shouldn't have? this is how mila started crawling, the urge to grab a phone or remote control or dog before they were moved out of reach was so strong

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 25/04/2008 22:27

Yeah the urge to touch forbidden things definitely motivates James to stretch further/try harder! He ripped the up arrow key off my laptop twice today, as he hammered the keys and opened up several programs! The phone fascinates him and he dives for it if he's sitting on my knee when someone calls.

The scariest one is that he loves our cups. I'm so scared he'll grab a hot cup one day- a friend of mine has an 11 month old nephew who got badly scalded from a hot cup of tea all over his face last weekend. He had very bad burns and has had to have surgery (skin grafts presumably) for it since. I felt sick when she told me, there but by the grace of god and all that. Definitely going to be a lot more careful now he's mobile.

Hey James said amamama today! he wouldn't repeat it though so I think it was an accident. He did have a french bean in his mouth at the time.

OP posts:
tasha22 · 25/04/2008 22:33

i was so amazed after he got his lip done. such a difference was like a different child which was a bit strange at the start as obviously he was georgous with a cleft lip

god plug sockets are a god send. when your baby safing your house i found it goo to lie on my belly in the middle of the floor and spin round and see what would be fascinating to push, pull, bash, poke my fingers in and youd be amazed how different everything looks from down there.

james my friend had here little boy round today hes 6 days younger than my lo and hes just started pulling himself up too im well jealous as my lo still looks new born and when i go to mums and tods i get strange looks when i stand him up or anything and still get women coming over with their newborns saying awk look what age is he and i say 8 months they look like this and say he/she is 8 weeks and looks the same size. ooops bit of a ramble lol. but awww standing thats great! you know my little brother was walking at 8 months so who will be first to walk?

tasha22 · 25/04/2008 22:36

hes catching up with my ds2 lol

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 25/04/2008 22:51

Nah, James won't be walking anytime soon I don't think, he's very strong but he's quite heavy and his balance isn't great, I still have to put the V pillow around him when he sits, as from time to time he overbalances and would bang his head. He might be crawling forward soon though.

Tasha, I know you must feel a bit selfconscious when people stare because your lo is small, but he's gorgeous, and we're all missing our little babies now so we'd all love to have a cute little bundle to snuggle!

What's going to be interesting is when your baby girl is born, will ds3 have caught up by then? or will it confuse and amaze strangers even more when they see what looks to be a 6 month old toddling around next to his newborn sister!!?!!

great pictures mamamila - she looks so grown up. maybe ds doies too - not sure but its different seeing other peoples babies that you dont see often.

james - the farmer took them out and put them in our box - he was holding them upside down by their feet, and i thought for a moment that he;d thought we were looking for chickens to put in the pot tonight.

so no dramas, and they went into their run no bother too - could tell the farmer was thinking that we were a right pair of numpties and probably gave the chickens a week to live. but they seem happy so far.

ds wouldnt go to sleep till 9.30 - wonder if it will make him sleep longer tonight before his first wake up call. fingers crossed.

tasha22 · 25/04/2008 23:24

lol james that would be confusing. but i dont think ill leave the house with 4

you all want your lo's too be tiny again and im sick of having a 'newborn' i need a break before the next one comes lol bring on the steroids

it wont be long though before we have our first walker will we start the betting?lol

conker i wouldnt have a clue about chickens lol id prob have grabbed it off the farmer and said 'what are you doing to ZuZu!'

im off to grab a cuppa....

Meandmyjoe · 26/04/2008 07:01

Aww mamamila, she is so so pretty. I always say that I think ds looks like phil Mitchell from EastEnders! Even more so now he's growing up! I keep meaning to get more up to date photos of ds but have to wait for dh to out them from the camera on to the computer. i'm not too good with technology!

Don't think my ds will be the first to walk although he stands brilliantly and does sidestep along the sofa but he is still way too top heavy to actually walk! He's so heavy though, I gues he has a lot of weight to balance on his little legs!

I get just the oposite of you Tasha, people at groups and random people on the bus are always asking if ds is walking yet?? When I tell them how old he is they all look shocked as if I'm lying. He is the height and weight of a 15 month old though so I can't blame them.

Just think, not long and they really will be walking and talking. We'll all be broody again then!
