New thread! Whoop whoop!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lizziemun · 19/02/2008 22:28

Thanks James.

Leifmun

I swap Lexie if you like she has started waking up singinghmm at 5am every morning for a week, she used to wake 6.30am can't blame daylight as she has a blackout blind in her room.

I need to her a bigger sleeping bag as she will not keep her blankets on.

Lexie has hardley any sleep or milk/food today, she has been a right grump, She finally drank 6oz of milk at 5pm and was in bed at 5.30pm and Lizzie was in bed by 6.30pm as she had had her pre school booster this afternoon and has been off all afternoon.

Today has been a sh*tty and sicky day. I just love being mum grin.

great new thread!
lizziemun hopefully dc's will be better tomorrow. i hate days like that.
ran out of bloody oil today and its freeezin! dc's are piled up with blankets.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 19/02/2008 23:30

tasha your first post on the last thread you said you ran out of oil too, how freaky is that? Your poor dc's- it's cold here too, I might have J in with me tonight to save waking up every half an hour to cover him up, bet you can't have all three boys in with you though eh? there'd probably be no room for you!

Lizzie, (sorry for springing a new thread on you just after you posted!) sorry to hear Lexie is poorly and Lizzies been off colour since her booster jab. How do you hope when they're both unwell?

Leifmum, james has been waking up earlier, although he does still go back to sleep after hi morning milk for a bit. Could be the cold, or increasing appetite, or teeth... I find it's usually hunger which messes with good sleep patterns the most. I stuff J up with a dinner, a yoghurt and a 9oz bottle of milk in the couple of hours before bed, it helps a lot. Hows the blw going?

Helibee and kinki, how are you both feeling?

Bopwopitt, are you learning sign language for any particular reason, or just as a string to add to your bow iyswim?

Gill, I dedicated the thread title to you fitting in your size 12's! lol Well done you! I haven't been to SW for two weeks, can't really afford it, but still loosly trying to keep up the diet. I figure if I've only got low fat things in then even if I go crazynuts and eat everything, it's still not as bad as gobbling a whole packet of chocolate digestives!

kinki · 20/02/2008 01:55

Hi everyone, I've been a bit quiet. Thanks for asking james, but I've been a bit crap tbh. I'm on antibiotics again and they're giving me d&v and tummy pains. Same effect on Liam as well. He's coping ok, but where he keeps being sick on himself his neck has become red raw. Maybe it acidic or something. I've put a bit of barrier cream on it to see if that helps. I thought when the screw was removed that would be the end of my problems, but I'm still getting nasty chest infections. I've had enough and getting down about it all.

I managed to limp through a big family party for ds2's birthday at the weekend. That was fun but has worn me out. Dh's birthday today, and he wants us to go present shopping at bluewater later. I'm a bit nervous as although I'm not vomiting I've still got diarrhea. I'm so tired, I just want to spend the day in bed. But that never happens though does it? Can't sleep now because of indigestion and tummy ache.

Thanks for the reassurance/advice about Liam's weight. I'm not going to get stressed about it. I'll just try to go with the flow.

Apologies for being a miserable cow tonight.

lizziemun · 20/02/2008 07:09

Kinki,

Hope you are feeling better soon, don't go out if you are still ill dh can wait.

James

I don't cope well when they are both, I stand in kitchen crying quietly counting down the hours until they go to bed. Lucky for me dh is on holiday this week so i wasn't here alone.

Unfortunley where Lexie was throwing herself around she has hurt my weak wrist (badly broken at school).

Had a good night sleep, Lexie woke at 11.30 for a bottle had 6oz and then slept until 6.30am I now have to convince her to have more then 3oz of milk now.

lizziemun · 20/02/2008 07:10

Sorry when they are both ill

My2Weegirls · 20/02/2008 09:00

sorry to hear about all the ill DC's and mums - hope everyone gets better soon . lizzie i do the same when the 2 of them are ill.

dd2 has also started waking early about 5am - grrr. she's still up once every night for milk then at 5am wanting more milk. then she wants to talk and smile and laugh so ends up waking up dd1. and she's got blackout blinds and blackout curtains...

dd1 never really slept well through the night until she was in her big bed so i figure that i've got at least another 1 1/2 years of disturbed sleep

also think we are going to have to stop putting dd2 in her bouncy chair - she keeps managing to sit up and looks like she's going to fling herself out of it. and she's too big for her group 1 car seat! need to get new ones for dd1 and put dd2 in dd1's old ones (we've got 2 cars).

tasha22 · 20/02/2008 09:11

i got a wee radiator thingy off my mum but its really dry heat you know so didnt keep it on much kepy whistling at me too
who was it having the sleep problems? did you get it sorted? barely slep last night then ds1+2 up early. ggo to bed its dark wake up its dark?lol
kinki-i hope you and lo feel better soon.
agree with lizziemun, if your too sick curl up on the sofa with a big mug of tea.
lizziemun-hope your wrist feels better soon and dont do too much washing!
lo gets weighed today, wonder if hes reached the 11lb mark yet

tasha22 · 20/02/2008 09:12

keeps not kepythats not an irish word btw lol

My2Weegirls · 20/02/2008 09:13

oh and sleeping bags are one of the best baby inventions! except when they get to 18 months and point blank refuse to get into them.

must go and remove comb from dd2's mouth!

tasha22 · 20/02/2008 09:17

cross post my2weegirls. at your lo being out of stage 1 car seat and for that matter all the babies being in 9-12 month clothes they have all shot off and left my lo behind in 0-3 bloody pain in the arse i want him fat!

My2Weegirls · 20/02/2008 09:18

tasha don't worry the clocks will be going forward soon - so it'll be light when you go to bed and light when you get up

i had problems sleeping which i think was partly due to thinking about things too much and too much coffee - only drinking 2 mugs a day now and none after 12pm and i was also taking sinus tablets at night time which had caffeine in them - though didn't realise this till dp saw me taking them and told me to read the packet. still have some nights where i can't get back to sleep but they are much fewer.

tasha22 · 20/02/2008 09:25

looking forward to that it wont seem so bad when im not getting up in the morning and its still night! ive always had sleep problems but it always sorts itself out in the end and its only been a few days. sleeping tabs i find useless though they just make you more tierd! well better go and do something lo still in pj's

tasha22 · 20/02/2008 09:45

very bad mummy here...gave ds1+2 rich tea biscuits and an orange for breakfast because i couldnt be bothered to feed ds2

Bogwoppit · 20/02/2008 10:12

Kinki - hope you are feeling better soon - some probiotic yoghurts might help or some acidophilus form a health food shop. antibiotics can kill normal gut bacteria so that may be why you are having a dodgy tummy & diarrhoea.

grr @ all the early waking - please can you make sure my 3 don't get into their heads this is a good idea! I have to prise ds1 & dd out of bed in a morning (&dh lol) ds2 wakes 5ish for a feed but then straight back to sleep til I do his nappy 8 ish b4 school run so I get another couple of hrs kip til I get up @ 7.
I can't wait for light mornings & nnights - I am so much more productive in spring & summer. winter I just want to hibernate.

weegirls - ds does the same in his bouncy chair. we just bought a static activity centre thing he can stand up in to play & it converts to a pushalong when he's walking. he loves it esp since he wants to always be stood. I know its not fab for posture so limit him to 10 mins at a time. its this one

James - I'm doing sign language for a few reasons. 1) i've always wanted to be able to sign, 2) I did baby signing with dd & will start ds2 after Easter & loved it 3) it gets me out of the house for some me time, (i run Guides too but its not the same as I replace my 3 for a dozen preteens!!) 4)I figure it will look good on my cv as I haven't worked since having ds1 so it will show I have managed to do something with my time! I have been thinking about maybe teaching sing & sign. I was going to do it before then got preg with ds2 & it all went on hold.

Tasha I sometimes wish ds2 was a little smaller, I think because he is long & has loads of hair people think he's older than he is & expect him to be doing more like crawling & having teeth.

right I'd best go wash some nappies while ds2 sleeps & other 2 are at school. ttfn

loler · 20/02/2008 10:20

Hello all on new thread.

I hope every one feeling better today. I'll swop the whole lot of you on the sleep front though - ds2 has never gone past 4am. Has been 3am recently but I guess that's because I'm too lazy to feed him solids! Was coping OK with it - he just comes into our bed (a complete nono with the other 2 - he's going to be such a spoilt brat!) latches on and I go back to sleep. Have been feeling quite tired for last few days though - would be nice to have one unbroken nights sleep.

DH away tonight so going to have a bath and early night and see if that helps - if you see me on here past 8pm tell me to go away!

kinki · 20/02/2008 11:07

Bog, I've been taking yakult and probiotic yoghurts for several days, no joy yet. I'll look out for acidophilus later. Not heard of that before. I think my tummy has just had enough. This is my 18th (I think, losing count) course of ab's in a year.

I've always wanted to learn sign language too. Also I've always fancied getting involved with scouting. Ds1 is joining cubs soon. I may well see how he settles in then offer myself up as a helper of sorts. If they'd want me that is .

Tasha, well if you're a bad mummy on the breakfast front, what the hell am I? Dh put his order in for his birthday breakfast in bed, of bacon and egg sandwich. So I sent ds1&2 up with that, plus a plateful of goodies for them: incl penguin, raisons, birthday cake and choc stars!!

ElenorRigby · 20/02/2008 11:50

hi there
Thanks Tasha for your reply, I overreacted, I guess. Things are still hectic and stressful in the Rigby house- new baby plus my DP's ex is still pulling stunts, the latest being shopping him to the CSA despite them having a private arrangement for child maintainence and him paying £40 a mont over the CSA guidelines and also her dragging her feet over the divorce sigh At DP's DD's birthday party recently his ex rudely commented to a friend of hers when her friend saw Amy "Oh he's such a fast worker, we arn't even divorced yet" For heavens sake woman you have been separated for 4 years, it was you who ended the relationship, please move on! No wonder DP is so stressed huh...[/rant] Just for the record I met DP 2 years after their separation.

Anyway despite the continuing stress Amy is doing pretty well. She remains a big girl stubbornly sitting on the 75th percetile on her weight chart thats around 18lbs atm. She has just gone onto 3 meals a day recently, all Organix and Hipp Organic stuff Im afraid, yesterday I bought some organic fruit and veg to get some cooked and frozen, dont think I could afford to keep buying prepared stuff. She has continued sleeping through the night as she has done for 3-4 months now. She goes down between 6-7pm we wake DP wakes her for a nappy change and milk around 11pm, then she sleeps to between 6-7am. Shes been pretty well most of the time apart from getting chickenpox at the aforementioned toddlers birthday party, which has kicked off an outbreak of eczema and always having a running right eye. Amy's now sporting two pegs on her bottom row and is teething like fury oh and shes always always trying to stand up, my dad says her legs are like pistons.
We've started going to baby clubs which Ive found a bit scary but people have been really freindly.
Anyway to finish heres a piccie of her at Christmas...

Bogwoppit · 20/02/2008 12:04

kinki - you can get babydophilus too for your ds. holland & barat sell it.
the scouts will welcome you with open arms I bet - helpers & leaders are like gold dust. ds1 does beavers & I helped the other week - tink I'd rather have a room of girls than 6-8yr old boys!!!

ER - that pic is just so cute I love those lights.

GillL · 20/02/2008 12:12

Thanks for the dedication James

Ds has been sleeping better the last 2 mornings after I upped his bottles to 9oz, and he's been finishing them so not sure where to go if he's still hungry after that! He's not woken before 6am for the last 2 days, which is ideal for getting ready for work.

lol at wanting your baby fat tasha.

My2weegirls - I put a post up about car seats yesterday cos ds is getting too big for his. I was hoping to put dd in a booster seat with adult seat belt cos we've already got 3 group 1 seats and a group 0, we really can't afford another group 1 for dh's car. Consensus was though that she is too small. I'm going to check her in her cousin's though and see how it looks. We're not sure what to do about ds though. Our group 1 seats are forward or rear facing but they really don't look safe rear facing as they're designed to be mainly used as forward facing. The guidelines are just on weight but a lot of people said that they have to be able to sit unaided. Our seats tilt back quite a way though so it should be alright I guess. It's a minefield.

tasha - dd often has to wait til she gets to my mum's for breakfast. This morning I couldn't wake her until it was time to leave. I'd just put ds in his car seat when she started walking down the stairs. I had to bundle her in the car in her pjs and sleep suit.

I did baby signing but only the sign for milk. I can't tell you how useful it was in the middle of the night.

GillL · 20/02/2008 12:17

posts crossed - have been trying to update for over an hour. Good to hear from you eleanor. Lovely picture!

tasha22 · 20/02/2008 12:48

elenor really good pic she is soo cute! i can symathise with you and the whole ex thing and csa even though im on the other side but i understand what your saying if i were you id tell dp to stop paying in hand and do it the csa way the only thing would be if she denied him ever paying annything then he could get a whole back log. me ex doesnt pay anything and i dont want anything from him. he lied to the csa and said he wasnt working as he was getting caash in hand ffrom the other womans parents.
lo weighed 10lb4oz 2 weeks ago and today weighed 10lb4oz???? bloody had enough when it doesnt rain it bloody pours!

tasha22 · 20/02/2008 12:59

lol gill and kinki we all must have our off days.

My2Weegirls · 20/02/2008 13:29

busy on here today.

bogwoppit - that looks good - she's got a 'learn and groove' thing which she just loves, but it doesn't convert into a walker.

gill - the info you get on car seats is so confusing. think i might just go to mothercare or halfords and say 'help!'. going by the guidelines weight and height both my DD's should be in next size up. dd2 can sit quite well - with cushions at the back of her. but i just feel that she's too young for a group 1 seat.

elenor - amy is a cutie. that must be such a difficult position for you, dp and his dd. it sounds like his ex can't let go. is the law the same in england as it is here that he can get the divorce finalised after 5 years whether she agrees or not?

i can't decide what to do this afternoon - it's started pouring here so it won't be anything outside.

My2Weegirls · 20/02/2008 13:55

tasha - is the HV happy with your lo?
