Hello all,

tasha, that is horrible. Fancy them mentioning that and worrying you for two whole weeks. Was bad enough when i was prenant and went to the nurse as I has a terrible rash on my tummy and hips. the nurse asked if I had immunity to german measels - then watched me turn pale. Had to wait 10 days for bloods to come back which was bad enough.

We had a buy weekend as my Mum was over from Spain to Caitlin was spoilt rotten by her - concequently DH says she is whingy today as she's had constant attention for the last 3 days.

She's doing well - up to 19lb 4oz and as tall as a weed - bit worried as she seems quite skinny (boney) in places. She was 70cm at 4 months so she's well passed that now - her 6-9 trousers are starting to get a bit short.

She started commando crawling - easy on the wood floor with no socks on but gets frustrated with it on the sofa or her play mat as she can't slide along it. Good thing is though she quite happily sits and plays with her toys for ages. last night I watched an hours TV whilst she played the whole time with her treasure basket. last nights items of facination were a shower puff, some metallic silver ribbon and a squeeky dog toy (brand new and sterilized though!).

shrinkingsagpuss · 21/04/2008 19:26

my2weegirls -why thank you. I fear i have entered into an argument with a mighty mn giant, TikTok is not someone I recommend crossing in haste!!

Actually, I need to apologise, as I psted on here in a strop the other day - I was pissed off with the GF thread, and ranted on here about passports!! SorrY!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 21/04/2008 21:59

Hello ladies, hope all is well. I've scanned through the thread briefly but I'm tired so barely remember what I just read! aargh...

sagpuss, I avoid talking to the regulars in chat a lot of the time, some of them can get very vicious very quickly, especially when they are suspicious of any name they don't instantly recognise. It's not wurf it, mate!!!

my2weegirls, sorry your dd's are poorly again, seems to be one thing after another for them. I seem to have sortof fallen out with my brother over the dad situation, long boring complicated story! it'll all be ok in the end.

Tasha, sorry about them scaring you with the cf thing, must be really worrying, hope you're ok. How's the pregnancy going? is dp any happier?

Conker, well done on doing your marathon, bet you were sore afterwards, eh?

Hi to everyone else, hope the babies are doing well! can't believe how quickly they're coming along now, seems like every day there's a new milestone with the talking and the crawling and the standing, they're proper little people now, isn't it cool and scary?

Yeah, we did have a nice weekend thanks. I even got along with mil so well we had some jokes and banter which was nice, I feel a lot more comfortable around her these days. James had lots of fuss and fun, and I attempted to stick to my diet as much as possible so was sad to see that I hadn't lost anything at all when I went to get weighed this evening! so I drowned my sorrows in curry, and I'll start again properly tomorrow, sod it.

James is getting to be a right little handful now, he's on the move constantly and I can see he has a er...spirited side, to put it mildly. He bit my nose in tesco earlier, was biting our fingers before that. Thought it was hilarious the first time he did it but at the fifth or sixth bite I thought we'd better start discouraging him.

He's still commando crawling backwards, still saying poo as well as many variations on "ararara" he can now sit quite well, getting longer and longer between falling backwards which is good. He no longer fits his bath support seat properly so tonight I tried letting him "crawl" in the bath and he loved it, so he knackered himself out scrambling about after his toys which was great as he was fast asleep ten minutes later!

hi

my2weegirls-yes that'd be great if conkertree and her wee family came too, are you up for that conkertree? Sorry to hear your 2 dd's are poorly again-how frustrating to have to take time off of work so soon, hope they're all ok soon.

James, glad you had a good weekend but sorry to hear about things with your brother, i'm here if you need anything. Callum has been affectionately grabbing at our faces and mouth and he loves biting my nose (he ends up doubli up with laughter) but as i put it in his mouth, i think that ones my fault !

Shrinkingsagpuss-i have tried not to enter into the gf debate knowing that we are all different and so are our babies and thats a good thing, so whatever suits you x

Gill, sorry about the sleeping at the weekend and at your dh for not being helpful

Uki-glad you're ok and lo is coming along well

Herseta-glad you and Caitlin had a lovely time with your mum and a bit of spoiling never goes amiss, better to be spoiled with love, affection and attention than anything else.

night night

Hersetta · 22/04/2008 08:44

James, glad you had a nice weekend - hope the coolness with your brother is resolved soon.

Feeling quite guilty for saying that Caitlin was whingey yesterday as when I got home from work i discovered she had cut another tooth. It's another bottom one so she has three there in total. Is that normal?. I thought the top ones were supposed to come through next.

Caitlin discovered bread sticks over the weekend and has decided quite firmly that she loves them. i gave her 1/2 when we were shopping and she got to work on it immediatley and within 5 minutes just a tiny stump remained in her tightly clutched hand. We used a normal tesco trolley for the first time (instead of one with a baby seat in) and she looked much more comfy and loved being ably to look all around rather than stare upwards all the time. They are growing up so fast.

shrinkingsagpuss · 22/04/2008 09:11

Herstta - Evie has only 2 teeth, both bottom ones, and I think another on the wya on the bottom. She loves the child seat in the trolley too, as does DS, coz when they are next to each other she can't pull his hair, but when she's in the baby seat, she leans over and pulls his hair!!

Hersetta · 22/04/2008 09:22

Hee hee - bad Evie. How Cute - not for your DS though!

leifmum · 22/04/2008 11:22

hi everyone! sorry it's been so long. i have been lurking the past couple of weeks but internet been playing up and crashed every time i tried to post!

so we finally moved. was a totally exhausting weekend and if we ever move will definitely be paying a company to do it all for us! dd settled ok ish. it all coincided with teeth 5 and 6 comming thorugh at the top and they have been really upsetting her. resulted in her sleeping in our bed for quite a few nights but touch wood she's fine now. went to a new playgroup last week to meet new people. everyone friednly but didn't really get beyond usual intro stuff. a couple of mums are coming round tomorrow so i'm hoping in time i'll make some good freinds. the village itself is nice and everyone's friendly. fab park and dd adores the swings and slide and roundabout. she's all over the place now. really don't think it will be long before she's walking.

tried both types of walker as friend slent them us. the one she sat in she hated after 2 days, doesn't like being confine but the one she pushes along is a big hit! she just can't turn corners whihc is no bad thng!

went back to work last week. just doing mondays and thrusdays and so fra it's been pretty good. very tiring though so no way i could do it full time!

have tried to catch up on everyone's news. tasha - i hope i can say congratulations? i hope everything's ok with ds3. as if you don't have enough to deal with.

james - how are things re: your dad? glad you had good weekend. i've got the outlaws coming down sunday and monday. really wish i could look forward to it but mil just irritates me something rotten!

dd's just woken up. best go but hope everyone else is ok and all the poorly babes get better soon and give all you guys a rest!

take care x

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 22/04/2008 14:43

Hello folks, glad the move was ok leifmum, it's always stressful even when it goes well, isn't it? The dad situation is weird: in brief, I haven't spoken to him since shortly after finding out what he'd done, he sent a letter a couple of weeks ago wanting to know why but I didn't respond, then he broke his hip and is now still in hospital. My brother is having to deal with him which he doesn't like as he doesn't like having responsibilities full stop (selfish bachelor type) so my brother is being nasty to me because it's all so unfair on him. (I'm gritting my teeth from pointing out that I left uni to care for mum when she was terminally ill- all bro is being asked to do is feed dads cats and take him some bits to the hospital ffs!) Families eh, who'd have 'em?

Just cleaned my kitchen and have discovered dp slopped yellow chinese curry down the front of our kitchen cupboards last night, and left it to soak in overnight, so it has left a yellow stain on our WHITE, RENTED cupboards. Going to start a thread on what I can use to get rid of it (I have no bleach in at the mo) and I'm off to make my very first beef casserole shortly. If I can't get rid of the mark on the cupboards, dp will be getting a babyturd in his portion.

conkertree · 22/04/2008 14:59

Hi everyone - feeling really down today. dont know why. maybe its pmt i suppose. annoying cause its my only day at home with ds till friday, so i should be making the most of it. (he's sleeping just now).

helibee and my2weegirls - a meetup sounds good although no idea when as we always seem to be booked up woth things months ahead, but let me know when and if we are free, we'll definately come along.

we're getting chickens this weekend so was outside earlier painting the shed that dh buitl them. ds was sitting on a mat on the grass playing away till i heard him being sick - he'd been eating grass and think he must have been having trouble swallowing it, so it made him sick - bad mummy moment.

wow all these teeth - ds only has one on the bottom, with a hint of another maybe coming soon but he dribbles for Scotland so dont know why his mouth isnt full of them.

sorry have no advice for the curry james - your dp does sound like he needs a kick up the backside at times. but then i suppose they all do from time to time.

tasha22 · 22/04/2008 14:59

i cant keep up but lo has started drinking more bottles now so im a bit happier with hhim as he seems in better form. couldnt get through to the doc yesterday so gonna give him a ring in 10 minutes. i have a spliting headache today pregnancy is going fine im a lot more tierd thistime round though i hope my body is ready to grow another one lol back later xxx

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 22/04/2008 15:11

tasha, did you ever hear of that woman who had 67 babies? something like 12 pairs of twins, 6 sets of triplets, a few sets of quads etc... if she can do that, I'm sure you'll be fine with four, even if the pregnancies are close together. (I bet by the end that woman would just cough and the baby would fall out lol) Glad lo is doing better and drinking more milk, that's good news.

Aaw conkertree, sorry you're feeling down, have you got any chocolate in? It's a cliche but chocolate really does work on pmt! Nevermind, it's almost wine o'clock anyway So jealous of your chickens! Oh that will be lovely they make such great pets, follow you around clucking, really friendly. So much nicer than a sullen bunny in a cage, imho. Hope you feel better later

knickers hows your pregnancy going? any new pics of bump?

hilibee- sorry just been reading over the posts and missed yours. ive put carobel in to make it thicker and it just jammed into his nose so i had to fill his mouth up with milk to get it out (not very nice) it was like cement in his palate but when i do get a little food into him he skips a bottle and thats not good sure its not? i think ill leave him till after his op and hopefully this higher calorie milk will help.

shrinking- that sounds familiar lo can move a little on his belly but gets frustrated cause he just wants to get up and go especially with the other two in hot persuit.

my2weegirls is your dds any better? that sounds terrible have they given her anything for it? and lol at good day shes gonna be a right wee maddam

conker well done you on the marathon

somebody mentioned something about babies smacking and biting?? well i bring lo into bed beside me in the mornings and he firstly kicks dp out and dp goes and gets in beside ds2 then just as im dosing off he would give me a huge wollop in the face!

cant remember what else i was gonna say but hope everyone is well or getting well

Pinkranger · 23/04/2008 08:07

DD attacks me too - she pulls my hair nd bites anythig stupid enopugh to get near her mouth - I have warned nursery..... She also spits milk out. she holds it in her mouth, smiles, then dribbles it slowly out of her mouth... then giggles.

lizziemun · 23/04/2008 09:45

Lexie has so far managed to sprain my wrist (i have a weak wrist since i smashed it when i was 15yrs). Made my nose bleed from head butting me, but she loves me .

I am seriously thinking of shaving my head so she can not swing on it anymore.

James have you got you cupboard clean yet.

I gald knickers & Tasha your pregnancy are going well.

My2Weegirls · 23/04/2008 10:12

another attacking baby here. she really chuckles whenshe manages to make me go 'ouch'

she pulls hair, loves scratching my chest especially trying to 'pick up' a mole on my chest. biting - so sore! sticking fingers in my mouth and pulling me close so that she can then bite my nose. or biting toes...

shrinkingsagpuss · 23/04/2008 11:27

oh - wobbily moles - oh yes, we have that too, blumin hurts!! Evie likes my saggy tummy skin too... blurgh glad someone does!!

mamamila · 23/04/2008 11:48

hello everyone,
i'm going to try and catch up and read some of the thread. it's so cool to see you all here!
mila is crawling everywhere and standing holding onto furniture when she feels like it. but still waking up all night. we're beyond exhausted. sometimes hardly sure if i'm awake or asleep! i dream i'm sleeping and wake up totally confused.

i have a question.. is it safe to give them little things to eat like raisins, little cubes of softish stuff? she doesn't have teeth yet

mamamila · 23/04/2008 11:50

hairpulling here too! and mila always comes into our bed in the night but now wakes up soo early like 5.30 - 6.30 and sits up then throws herself at us until we get up, matter of seconds now we've been headbutted/noses bashed etc

and when i hold her on my hip she likes to squeeze my bingo wingsor else a bit of neck! awww

Meandmyjoe · 23/04/2008 12:01

DS only has two teeth but has had soft cubes of food for the past month or so. He likes cubes of cheese and strips of cucumber (without the skin). Also pieces of cooked pasta seem to go down well.

Sorry your so knackered mamamila but you're luck your dd is so mobile. My ds is STILL crawling very very slowly and only backwards! Which makes him very frustrated and whingey! Thankfully he sleeps well though but my God he can be a mardy bum in the day!
